And that was the end of the chapter. Now that things were starting to look up for the kids! Damn you cliffhangers!

So, this chapter... Jesus this chapter. Ida just got all of his decisions and insecurities thrown at his face with the speed of a goddamn bullet all at once. He spent the most part of this fight laying in the ground, completely useless. He almost died, and he almost made his friends die because of him.

And you know what he did?

He realized that he was the wrong, he realized where he went wrong and what he needed to do to make amends. And then, he stood up, and refused to be put down again, neither by Stain, or by himself, or by anyone else. He decided to keep on fighting, not for revenge, but to protect those he cared about.

Just like a true Hero would’ve done. Just like his brother would’ve done.

This chapter was everything Ida needed to get on the path to become a true hero and I’m extremely pleased with it. Even disregarding that moment in particular where Ida’s got two new pockets added to his costume. And to his body.

But, I’m glad to see that I wasn’t talking out of my ass, and this chapter didn’t made me cry, even with that touching moment between Tensei and I.D.A v1.0.

Okay, so today the extra page at the end is again about a costume instead of being about a character. And the one we’re talking about today is...

Todoroki’s costume! The thermodynamic suit.

It’s funny, I talked about his costume not too long ago in a ask. I said how this one seemed to have utility, unlike the original one, but it seems like I was kinda wrong. The last one had temperature regulators in it, but they only catered to his Ice said, because, as we saw, that was everything he thought he would need to be a hero.

So his belt is actually directed to rescue operations, and not aid him in a fight. That’s interesting. There seems to be a hidden side to him, that is thinking about saving people from disasters instead of from villains.

So, Horikoshi already went ahead and used my pun before I could have the chance. So I’ll just say that his joke was pretty lit. It was some hot take on the whole humor business. Left me burning inside for more. Maybe this will ignite my imagination for some new stuff. Now I’m fired up for the next extra page. I lavad it.

So, Stain’s face got fucked, Ida’s arms got fucked, and Todoroki was there to give emotional support, the only person that didn’t had to suffer for once. Good for him, he deserves to be happy. That was soooo satisfying to see. The sheer amount of strength that both Ida and Midoriya put behind those hits.My bet is in at least half of Stain’s teeth being broken, his jaw being shattered, or at  least fractured, and two to three of his ribs being broken.

Now, if they didn’t made Stain pass out with this combined attack I’ll flip my shit and scream.

I have a lingering fear that this chapter won’t end well, and I’m worrying that this next page will be the reason why.

Ida is not trying to brush everything that happened aside to pretend that it never happened. He’s owning up to his mistakes, and trying to make up to them.

He’s trying to be a true hero, and a true hero admits when he’s is wrong.

I’m so proud of you Ida. You realized what that name really meant, and the weight associated to it. Being a hero is more than punishing the ones that wronged you. It’s about sacrificing yourself for the need of many, and being Ingenium is a responsibility that will cost everything.

But you’re ready to take it, because your brother was a true hero, and you’re going to do everything you can to measure up to him.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, as they say. And you just started to wear the heaviest crow you ever gonna know.

But enough talking, now it’s time to take all of Stain’s speeches about being a true hero and shove them down his goddamn throat. Time to kick some ass!

Ida is been constantly struggling against his feelings of inferiority when compared to Midoriya.Not only that, he feels like he can’t act like a proper hero, because when there was someone in danger, Midoriya didn’t hesitated in throwing himself into danger, while Ida did what everyone else did and ran away.

Of course, back then, nobody besides Midoriya even saw Uraraka stuck under the ruble, but that doesn’t matter to him. He just think he failed back then, and he is failing right now.

Holy fuck Ida, you can’t even imagine how much I started to panic when I saw Stain and his blade ready to chop Todoroki in two. I remembered the ask that said the fight would cost you guys an arm and a leg I almost ripped passed out. Okay, maybe not that much, but I got really worried, okay?!

Right, the fight continues. Ida is down on the ground, Midoriya fucked up, and Todoroki is regretting making friends with those two. Time to see how things will turn out, this is Chapter 54: RE: Ingenium.

Ida’s personal pain-train is coming back for round 2
