The Ark that was a Rider
Versus Road: There will be opinions on this, I'm sure. Kuon demonstrates the fact that he is not the same as Shousetsu by refusing to lay the killing blow on Amou, the battle is already won. And after Shousetsu becomes the very thing he railed against all those years ago, and get the Veil he sought, Kuon is chose by Garo, and the Heroic Spirits encourage him to draw the sword. The battle is cool, and in the end Shousetsu is defeated, Azami takes the Dark Metal, killing Shousetsu. Kuon proves himself a worthy Garo still by not killing Shousetsu. Azami may have actually started to recognise the wisdom of Kuon, I can't say. Kuon leaving the sword behind is surely surprising to some but it makes sense. He never asked for this, and he views it more important to live for the sake of those who died, both the main cast and all 99 who have died, than to pick up the sword of something he does not understand. And the Garoken appears to be out of Makai now. Someone else can pull it out now.
Z: We learn more about the personalities of everyone in STORAGE, and their tactics for combat. Quite an eccentric bunch this time.
Zero & Z: A fun little scene this time, I just like the details on what Ultra education is like. And that Zero is failing at not being a mentor.
Zero-One: Man this episode was a lot. I don't think he spoke to his family in the end, but it gave Fuwa some closure. Jin and Yua have been working together aiming to defeat Ark for their independent reasons, but Ark-Zero is far more powerful than they ever expected, and it turns out it can possess Jin by force as well, and manipulate the AIMS chip to debilitate Yua and Fuwa. This is going to be a tough battle.
Kiramager: This post was going to have some musings about Takamichi, and questions we would see answered. He was clearly aware of the Kiramagers, while the Professor, Mashins and even Garza seem extremely troubled by his appearance, but pretty much all of those questions are answered by Mabusheena's outburst. With his surname being Crystalia the fact that he's her brother was going to come out sooner or later. Monstones mean we'll be seeing some Jamenshi powered up in the future and maybe some Jamenju. I like how both as Takamichi and as KiramaiSilver he has the goggles.

McAllen, TX– Sixteen Valley children and their families gathered Saturday night at the Art Village on Main Event Center in McAllen, all hoping to win a week-long vacation at Medicine Bow Lodge & Adventure Guest Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming or Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Rifle, Colorado. This was the second year in a row that the RGV Children’s Arts Festival awarded two dude ranch family vacations, one to a child in each of two age groups.
Pediatrician Dr. Martin Garza of DLC Pediatrics in Edinburg, decked out in his tuxedo, came prepared to open the envelopes and announce the winners. As he opened the envelope to announce the winner for the kindergarten through third-grade division, one could almost hear the hearts of the young finalists thumping with anticipation.
“The 2017 RGV Children’s Arts Festival winner of a week at Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Rifle, Colorado is Briana Benavides,” said Garza.
Seven-year-old Briana is the daughter of Carlos and Diana Benavides of Brownsville. The Benavides family will ride horses in the Colorado Rockies for a week in early June at elevations around 8,000 feet. Briana’s winning art and writing can be seen in Chapters 38 & 42 of the “Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John” at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org/kcmbgj.
For the announcement of the second winner in the fourth through sixth grade division, arts festival co-founder Carey Kinsolving once again turned to the man in the tux, Dr. Martin Garza. “The 2017 RGV Children’s Arts Festival winner of a week at Medicine Bow Lodge & Adventure Guest Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming is Claire Bauer,” said Garza.
Claire’s winning art and writing can be seen in Chapter 33 of the “Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John” at www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org/kcmbgj.
Claire Bauer, 12, is the daughter of Carl and Karen Bauer of Harlingen. Claire is a student at St. Paul Academy.
On Monday morning, Karen Bauer said of her daughter, “She’s still in shock. She says, ‘Mom, I still can’t believe I won. I feel like I’m dreaming.’”
“Claire is a great example of persistence,” said Kinsolving. “This is her third, consecutive year as a finalist in the RGV Children’s Arts Festival.”
Both of the winners’ art pieces are now captured in glass. Artist Yoli Cantu of McAllen Stained Glass created a three-dimensional, fused-glass rendering for each artist. Cantu donated four scholarships to each artist for a class in designing and making fused glass art.
In addition to winning dude ranch vacations for their families, Brianna and Claire won checks for $600 each to help pay for travel to Wyoming and Colorado. All 16 finalists received passes for four people to enjoy a Dolphin Watch or Eco Tour cruise courtesy of Breakaway Cruises at South Padre Island and a coupon for a free ice cream cake at any of the Lynn Lee Dairy Queens throughout the Valley.
Five-year-old Bethany Bridwell of McAllen placed second in the younger division by painting a picture of a colorful heart throbbing with the love of God. Sophia Villarreal, 9 of Harlingen placed second in the older grade division also with a dramatic drawing of a heart. Both Bridwell and Villarreal won two all-day passes to Schlitterbahn at South Padre Island.
Gold spur sponsors of the arts festival include BCFS Health & Human Services, La Copa Inn of South Padre Island, Boggus Ford, El Pato, pediatrician Dr. Martin Garza, Dairy Queen, Lone Star National Bank and Melba’s Dance School. Children ages 5-12 who live or attend school in the Rio Grande Valley can find five new questions to answer and illustrate for next school year at KidsTalkAboutGod.org/rgv.

Versus Road: More focus on Nagasuke and Takane this, time, Inga is being fed to GARO even by the general public, and Azami is more actively encouraging things now. While she only sits in on Nagasuke's party, she more directly influences Takane. We also meet the guy who does the tech for Nagasuke, who... might be dead given the ominous tone about the Logging Out, and his manager who is abusive. We also learn about Takane's inspiration, who turns out to be in the game. I'm half expecting when Nagasuke and his manager check the camera back after returning, they'll find that they vanished. Everyone returns to the game, after the log out, only 44 of the 50 survivors are playing. This goal is a lot more survivable, depending on what you did everyone could make it, but they knew people would fight for it. And the guy who made it was eaten. Each player got an item, which vanish when the player is killed. Hyuga is just killing people, Kanata and Amou decide to take out as many people as they can, and Kuon and Hoshiai just want to get to it. I find the weapons people created interesting. Takane just had a knife, Hyuuga created a fairly interesting blade, Amou has a knife glove, Kanata just a baseball bat. Kuon's weapon actually looks like a sword used by a Makai Knight.
Zero-One: Hey A.I.M.S, maybe, just maybe, you should change communication method you're using if a known enemy is still able to monitor it. Delmo is an interesting character thanks to how self assured she is, contrasting both Yua and Naki. Yua's plan with Assault Wolf actually made sense, forcing Naki back into control, but allows Naki to come to desires of their own, this signalling the Ark to contact Horobi. Jin and Horobi did something, but Fuwa and Naki are now in control together, working together so humans and Humagears can have dreams. Naki's statement that they are just a tool, and Yua's that she isn't a tool, contrast in that they're both wrong. Naki is wrong because they have been conditioned to believe they're a tool, as has other Humagears have experienced, while Yua is wrong because she keeps just going along with Gai's wishes while denying that she is one. And it does seem Naki's finding a role for themself has affected Yua, who in the end is really thinking while watching the Hiden broadcast. Some extra thoughts from Project Thouser: I was not expecting Naki to have been alive during the time frame of the series itself. This also shows how much Gai was influencing things from the start, since he had Naki supply MetsubouJinrai.net with the ZetsumeRise Keys and communicate to the Ark it was time for the battle to start. I'm impressed with the planning done with this, tying in the current events of the show to the release of the BD exclusives. A similar thing was done with Episode ZERO once or twice. We're shown each form Progrise Key and the ZetsumeRise Keys have their first use, which might be necessary for Thouser to be ready, and when Naki questions what they're doing they get slapped by Gai, so he's physically abusive as well as emotionally. It looks like Naki gave Horobi the Hercules Key against orders, and then gets murdered by Gai, who in the next opportunity will use the timing to have Naki added to Fuwa's chip during surgery.
Kiramager: There's a few things going on in this episode. While the team means well in training Juru, the way they're going about it is exhausting him, and even as he passed out in Kiramajin's cockpit they don't seem to recognise that. Then we get our insight to Garza's "philosophy" and his way of using others. And this mysterious white train Juru sees a few times, before it appears at the end as Garza attempts to attack.
