Master Photographers Network has awarded Rohit kothari, owner and photographer of

Man with a Camera, the honorable title of Licentiate. Rohit kothari thus joins a select group of professional photographers, who have acquired not only national but also international recognition.

For qualifying, Rohit kothari has had a portfolio of 10 wedding photos reviewed by an international jury of renowned photographers. The bar was high this year, but he succeeded with a great deal. The jury was enthusiastic about the use of color and the emotion in the images. Rohit kothari has gained fame in documentary wedding photography in delhi and surroundings.

Master Photographers Network is an active professional organization for professional photographers who work in portrait, bridal, advertising and corporate photography. The aim is to lift photography to a higher level. MPN photographers take part in various national and international competitions, they attend seminars and workshops at home and abroad to keep up-to-date in this dynamic profession. Master Photographers Network collaborates internationally with, among others, Master Photographers Association (UK), Bund Professional Portrait Photographers (Germany) and Young Photo Professionals (Switzerland). Qualified within the MPN is a recognizable quality mark for professional photographers and the public.

[Documentary] Man With A Movie Camera

Dziga Vertov is considered one of the fathers of the documentary. A film theorist that influenced the development of the documentary in the past century. This Soviet filmmaker started the Kino-Pravda, a term that could translate as “film truth”. It was exactly the search of this “film truth” what characterizes his films. He portrayed the everyday experiences, machinery, children playing, marketplaces, just the daily life. Vertov was discontented with dramatic fiction, as he put it “opiate of the masses”, using the words of the father of Communism. He considered that film had many other possibilities than continue with the narrative tradition from literature and theatre. He was interested in capturing the experiences of life in its pure essence.

“Man with a Movie Camera” is considered one of the most important examples in the history of documentary. It was voted  the 8th best film ever made in the poll from Sight and Sound, an important British film magazine. With his film Vertov wanted to fight “for a decisive cleaning up of film-language, for its complete separation from the language of theater and literature.” He aimed for the essence of the documentary filmmaking.

Because of one woman’s perseverance, more than 700,000 people from all corners of the globe stroll around the narrow pathway that encircles the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC to admire Mother Nature’s springtime handiwork: the majestic white-to-pink flowering of thousands of cherry trees during the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Enthused by a visit to Japan in 1885, Eliza Scidmore — an American writer, photographer and lecturer, and the first female board member of the National Geographic Society — worked tirelessly to get ornamental Japanese cherry trees planted on reclaimed land at the edge of the Potomac River.

Ms. Scidmore’s nearly quarter-century crusade finally paid off as First Lady Helen Taft embraced her idea which led to the gifting of 3,020 cherry trees, in 12 different varieties, by the mayor of Tokyo City to the United States. Viscountess Iwa Chinda, wife of Japan’s ambassador, joined Mrs. Taft at a simple ceremony in 1912 for the planting of two saplings along the north bank of the Tidal Basin, and the rest is history.

Today, the District literally rolls out the pink carpet between mid March to mid April to celebrate the gifting and planting of those very first prunus serrulata trees and to welcome the arrival of spring, which also embraces flowering magnolias, bright daffodils, elegant irises and more all across the capital’s monumental landscape.

Highlighted by cloud-like canopies of blossoms surrounding the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park, and accented by more than 90 city-wide, family-friendly events and 200 cultural performances and demonstrations, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is the perfect time to visit Washington, DC.

A world-class city embedded with a vibrant history, spectacular monuments, outstanding museums, plentiful parks, lush gardens and exceptional chef-driven cuisine, the District of Columbia is well worth the visit, especially now while she’s still all decked out in pink.
