Pag-IBIG Fund recognizes top employers, developers in Mindanao
#PHnews: Pag-IBIG Fund recognizes top employers, developers in Mindanao
DAVAO CITY -- Pag-IBIG Fund conducted the final leg of its Stakeholders’ Accomplishment Report (StAR) for the first half of 2019 in this city by recognizing the best performing developers and employers in Mindanao on Thursday. In a statement, Pag-IBIG's top developer award for Mindanao went to 8990 Housing Development Corporation, followed by VCDU Realty Corporation, Malate Construction & Development Corporation, Johndorf Ventures Corporation, Urbaneast Developments, Inc., Prestige Homes & Realty Development Corporation, Bria Homes, Inc., Gensan VSM Realty Corporation, Primeland Properties, Inc., and Prima Casa Land & Houses, Inc. Named top employers in the government sector were the Provincial Government of Bukidnon, the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and Mindanao State University, while Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. or TADECO, T-Nalak Labor Service Cooperative and General Services Multi-Purpose Cooperative were named top employers in the private sector. The Pag-IBIG Fund StAR is the agency’s semi-annual event conducted in different regions to recognize top-performing developers and employers in each area for their contributions to the continued success and growth of the Fund. During the event, top executives of the Fund also reported the agency’s record-breaking accomplishments in the first half of 2019. From January to June of this year, Pag-IBIG Fund achieved record-highs of P37.07 billion in home loan releases which benefitted 41,797 members who now have their own homes, P23.4 billion in members savings collections, P26.3 billion in short term loans to help 652,970 members with their financial needs and P30.4 billion in total housing loan payment collections leading to an impressive 90.6% performing loans ratio. The agency posted a P16.04 billion net income for the first half of 2019, surpassing its target for the period. The Mindanao event is the fifth and final leg of the Pag-IBIG Fund’s StAR series, which has already recognized the agency’s top developers and employers for the first semester of 2019 in NCR, North & South Luzon and Visayas. In a separate event, Pag-IBIG Fund also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) and Realty Investments, Inc. (RII) on Thursday, for the creation of a housing project for the benefit the university’s employees. The housing project, dubbed AdDU Homes Xavierville, located at Sitio San Pedro, Catalunan Grande, here, will consist of 135 units and 14 open lot units which shall be made available to AdDu employees through the Pag-IBIG Fund’s Affordable Housing Loan Program. “This housing project is part of our Countryside Housing Initiative or CHI which brings together institutions both from the government and private sectors in creating housing projects, particularly for the underserved. This initiative is part of the BALAI (Building Adequate, Livable, Affordable and Inclusive) Filipino Communities Program of the government’s housing sector, and supports the call of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte of providing decent shelter for every Filipino worker,” said Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Home Lending Operations Marilene C. Acosta. Acosta further added that through the partnership, employees of AdDU shall be provided the opportunity to own their own homes valued at nearly P700,000 for a price of only P480,000. The units can also be purchased by the university’s employees who are in the minimum-wage bracket through the Pag-IBIG Fund’s Affordable Housing Loan Program, which offers the lowest rate in the market of only 3 percent per annum, making this opportunity of homeownership even more affordable.
