Hellabaloo #018- Dagon Gets Vexed! This week we listen to Mark Malibu and the Wasagas, The Motherlode, Civic, Nikola Death Ray, Beach Bugs, Los Tremoleros, and more! It's a leaner, meaner Hellabaloo, with an exciting announcement at the end of the show. Also, Dagon's attention span reaches new lows previously thought unattainable!

5th Annual Jalopy Jam-Up
It’s not every day that you can turn back time to embrace hot rodding at its roots. Many times checking the oil and topping off the tank prepares you for a drive to the doughnut shop, cruise night, or highway to simply burn some fuel as you enjoy knocking off some miles. With the simple turn of a key you can imagine a simpler time when hopped-up V-8s ruled the streets and the best moment of the week was when you could hang out with all your likeminded friends at the local drive-in to see who’s running the hottest mill in town. We’re here to tell you that the 5th Annual Jalopy Jam-Up held in Rockton, Ontario, Canada, was the place to be if you wanted to relive that walk down memory lane.
With the overall success of the event over the past few years it was evident that the show would need a new venue to continue to grow while still maintaining the mystique that made it so special to begin with. The promoters (including Jeff Norwell, Brandon Roberts, and Jay Tyrrell) upped the ante by securing the historic Rockton Fairgrounds this year with its old-time charm having been established well over 150 years ago. Spanning close to 80-manicured acres it set the stage for the two-day event with plenty of rolling roads accented by vintage buildings, campgrounds, an open-air pavilion, grandstand, and dirt track.
The Jam-Up is a timeless event dedicated to pre-1964 traditionally styled hot rods and customs built to reflect the ’40s-’60s. This year it brought together over 500 of the coolest hot rods and customs from all over Canada and the U.S. If you happened to hear the sounds of a Sawzall as you strolled the grounds it was coming from the Binbrook Speed & Custom building where the team brought plenty of evil by chopping a Model A sedan during the show. To add to the fun, there was plenty to check out, including an endless stream of neat vendors and a packed swap meet, as well as plenty of food options once the need to feed hit. There was also a vintage bicycle show, classic pin-up contest, mini-bike races on the dirt track, old-time pie eating contest, tattoo artist, and even pinstripers to lay down the final icing on your ride. As if that wasn’t enough, the party hit high gear when live music came to the stage throughout the weekend with plenty of searing sets laid down by the Hell-Bent Rockers, Gabba-Heys, King Jives, Treble Men, Mark Malibu and the Wasagas, Jake the Kid, and DJ Swankenstein. This is one event that brings the traditional vibe every year, making it a perfect experience for hot rod and custom owners to check out. You can dig all at jalopyjamup.com. SRM
