I’ve seen that there are options between a Bachelor’s of Science degree and a Bachelor’s of Art + a Master’s degree... which option do you think is best? Just getting the B.Arch or going on through the BA to get your M.Arch? Compared to the B.Arch, does the M.Arch hold a higher value for firms? It does. It solidifies any applicant’s education credentials and probably will get you further when reviewing resumes. But if you have an accredited B Arch from a strong institution it will only enhance it (in today’s market only a little) not change someone’s mind. When offers are made we do offer a higher starting salary if you have a masters degree (but believe me, not enough to pay a couple of credits of a MA!). If you want to further your education and make yourself a more rounded professional with a specialty within the profession I would do it. For example, I would do planning, historic preservation, or MBA but not in architecture. I only recommend an MA in architecture of your undergraduate degree is in another degree or not accredited.
