Is coding a good career path?
If you're thinking about enrolling in a Coding course in Chandigarh, you're definitely not alone. With the tech industry booming and digital transformation touching every corner of our lives, more and more people are exploring careers in coding. Whether you're a recent graduate, a working professional considering a career switch, or simply someone who loves solving problems, coding can offer an exciting and rewarding path.
But before diving in, it’s important to ask: Is coding the right career for me? Let's explore some of the pros and cons to help you decide.
Why Coding Can Be a Great Career Choice
1. High Demand for Coders
The tech world isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Across India—and globally—there’s a growing demand for skilled developers. Companies in Chandigarh and nearby IT hubs like Mohali and Panchkula are always looking for fresh talent, especially in areas like web development, app development, data analysis, and software engineering.
Even beyond traditional tech companies, industries like healthcare, finance, education, and retail now rely heavily on software solutions, creating job opportunities in a wide range of fields.
This high demand means job security and a strong job market for those who gain the right skills.
2. Attractive Salaries
Coding is one of those career paths where your skills can significantly boost your income. While salaries vary depending on your experience, area of expertise, and the company you work for, even entry-level developers in India can expect a decent starting salary. As you gain experience and specialize—say, in full-stack development, machine learning, or DevOps—your earning potential can grow substantially.
For professionals in Chandigarh, where the cost of living is lower than in metros like Bangalore or Mumbai, a tech salary can offer a comfortable lifestyle.
3. Versatility Across Industries
One of the biggest advantages of coding is its versatility. Whether you're interested in designing websites, building mobile apps, analyzing big data, or working on AI-based systems, there’s likely a path for you.
You can apply coding skills to:
Startups looking for fast and scalable tech solutions
Government projects that need smart IT infrastructure
Freelance opportunities in web design or app development
Global tech companies offering remote work
With a good foundation from a coding course in Chandigarh, you can open doors across multiple industries and roles.
4. Remote Work Opportunities
One of the perks of working in tech is the flexibility. Many coding jobs can be done from anywhere with a laptop and an internet connection. This flexibility has opened up new opportunities for people who want to work from home or travel while working.
Especially post-pandemic, remote roles have become the norm in many organizations. So even if you train in Chandigarh, you can work for companies based in Delhi, Bangalore, or even abroad.
5. Lifelong Learning and Growth
If you're someone who enjoys learning and staying current with trends, coding is a great career fit. The tech landscape is always changing, with new programming languages, tools, and frameworks emerging regularly. This means you'll always have opportunities to grow, evolve, and stay intellectually engaged.
For example, once you master web development, you might choose to explore machine learning, blockchain development, or cloud computing—all growing fields with exciting possibilities.
6. Problem Solving and Creativity
At its core, coding is about solving problems. Whether you're debugging a tricky piece of code or designing a new app feature, you're constantly thinking, analyzing, and building. If you enjoy puzzles, logic games, or figuring out how things work, you might find coding deeply satisfying.
It’s also a creative career. You’re not just writing lines of code—you’re building tools, experiences, and systems that people use every day.
Challenges of a Coding Career
Of course, no career is without its downsides. Coding might be a great fit for many, but it also comes with challenges that are important to consider.
1. Steep Learning Curve
Learning to code can be tough at the beginning. It’s like learning a new language—and it often comes with moments of frustration. Debugging errors, understanding abstract concepts like recursion, or figuring out why your app isn’t working can be challenging, especially for beginners.
That said, with good guidance—like what you'd get from a structured coding course in Chandigarh—and consistent practice, you’ll get better over time. Patience and persistence are key.
2. Continuous Learning (Double-Edged Sword)
While many coders enjoy learning new things, the constant pace of change in the tech industry can also feel overwhelming. Frameworks that are popular today may be outdated tomorrow. Staying current requires time, effort, and curiosity.
If you prefer a field where things remain mostly stable and predictable, this might be something to think about.
3. Sedentary Lifestyle
Let’s face it: coding involves sitting at a desk and staring at a screen for long periods. Without proper care, this can lead to health issues like back pain, eye strain, or general fatigue.
It’s important to balance screen time with physical activity. Many coders use standing desks, take regular breaks, or follow the 20-20-20 rule (every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds) to maintain their well-being.
4. High-Pressure Deadlines
Depending on the company and your role, coding jobs can come with tight deadlines and intense pressure. Launching a product, fixing a critical bug, or delivering a feature on time can be stressful, especially if you're part of a fast-paced development team.
Managing time effectively, setting realistic goals, and working in supportive teams can make a big difference in how you experience this pressure.
5. Potential for Isolation
Remote work and long hours in front of a computer can sometimes lead to feelings of isolation. Not everyone thrives in solitary environments, and if you enjoy constant social interaction or teamwork, you’ll want to find a coding job or work environment that supports collaboration and communication.
The good news? The tech community is huge, and there are plenty of ways to stay connected—through online forums, coding meetups in Chandigarh, open-source projects, and co-working spaces.
Final Thoughts: Is Coding the Right Fit for You?
So, is a coding course in Chandigarh your next move? If you’re curious, love problem-solving, and want to build a future-proof skill set, then yes—coding can be a great career path.
Just remember:
Coding skills that improves with time, effort, and practice.
It offers great flexibility, earning potential, and opportunities for growth.
Like any career, it has its challenges, but they’re manageable if you’re prepared.
Whether you want to become a full-time developer, a freelancer, or a tech entrepreneur, a strong foundation in coding can take you far. And with the right course, community, and commitment, you can start that journey right here in Chandigarh.

Learn Java from Basic to Advanced
Java becomes one of the most popular programming languages with several reasons. This programming language has many advantages, such as can run in different operating system, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), and has complete library that will greatly facilitate programmers, so it's very powerful. And today is the era where Android smartphones are very widely used. Applications in the Android smartphone are built using the Java language.
Java is open source technology. It means you can see the source code, and develop and custom it according to your own purpose. Java is used to develop various types of applications, from console application, desktop application, enterprise-scale application, to mobile application. To fulfill the different applications needs, Java categorized into three editions:
Java SE (Standard Edition) - to develop desktop application and client-server application.
Java EE (Enterprise Edition) - to develop multi-tier enterprise-scale application.
Java ME (Micro Edition) - to develop application that can be run on micro devices or mobile devices.
Anyone who wants to start to learn Java, must learn from Java SE. Java SE is basic and core of Java Programming. After mastering Java basic (Java SE), you can choose whether you want to continue to Java EE or Java ME. Usually, people who learn Java basic don't get any issue to learn it. But when entering Java EE, one big question will appear: What should I learn? Because unlike Microsoft platform, there are so many technologies called "framework" used to build Java EE based application.
All roads lead to Rome. Every framework has its own way and own style. Every framework has own its advantages and disadvantages, but they are in same goal: to build robust and powerful Java application. For advanced user, this is good. Because they can choose and use proper framework that suitable with their needs. But for new comer in Java, this can be confusing.
I've done a little research on the needs of Java programmers in the world. Actually, there are also some companies who are looking for beginner (basic) Java programmers. Usually they will provide specific training to the programmers to enhance their Java skills fit to the company's needs. But, most of company are looking for advanced Java programmer, specially Java EE programmer with qualification in several famous Java framework. The fact is, company pays higher for advanced Java Programmers.
The following are some of Java EE framework and other related technologies that are sought by many companies: JPA, Hibernate, iBATIS, JSF, PrimeFaces, RichFaces, XHTML, JSP, Servlet, AJAX,  jQuery, EJB, Struts, Spring, JBoss, Tomcat, GlassFish, Weblogic, WebSphere, Web Services, Eclipse, NetBeans. That's not all. There are still many other Java EE frameworks. But don't worry, you don't have to mastering all. But like I said, a new comer in Java will be confused, which framework should I learn?
From the list of framework above, I already tried almost all of them. I've been  worked in system development in several IT consultants and software houses. In reality, many application development works are system enhancement or customization. So you don't have any option to choose framework. But for creation new application, you have to create from scratch. It is good if company already have framework standardization. But if not, you have to choose which framework should be used.
Yes, You don't have to mastering all framework. And I think in the fact, none of people mastering all of Java framework. But, of course you want the company to pay you high, right? As the fundamental for you in obtaining a good job as a Java programmer, you must mastering several framework. Which one? I've been using various of Java EE framework. And I found the most powerful stack of frameworks (at least for me). This uses MVC (Model-View-Controller) design pattern. The stack of frameworks is:
Model: Hibernate
View: JSF + RichFaces
Controller: Spring
With this stack of frameworks, you can do rapid application development. It's also not too difficult to learn it compared to other frameworks.
For summary, this blog will teach all techniques of programming in Java SE, which is the core of Java programming. You will be invited to get to know, understand, practice, and able to implement the concepts required in basic Java programming. The Java SE material in this blog will start from the simplest, the mastery of basic elements of program such as: architecture in Java program, Java program creation, compilation technique, data type, operator, control structure, and so on. You also will be invited to know what Object Oriented Programming is and how is its implementation in Java.
After mastering Java SE, This blog will take you to enter Java EE, start from its concept, and also its implementation using stack of frameworks I mentioned above. To make you fully understanding of Java EE implementation, this blog will give sample of application development: how to create Employee Management application from scratch using the stack of frameworks.
This blog is dedicated to anyone who is interested in learning Java programming. All material in this blog are presented in tutorial dialect and immediately accompanied by examples of programs that will be easy to understand. To make you easier to learn all the material presented, within this blog you can download all resources (such as installer, library, etc.) that are needed. The final goal of this blog is to guide, lead, and deliver you to become a high valuable Java programmer.[Source]-https://javabasictoadvanced.blogspot.com/p/preface.html

Some research studies have actually shown that this could take as long as 35 to 40 seconds for motorists to take effective management of an auto when shifting back off self-governing setting. Toyota's driverless auto director, Dr Gill Pratt, chief executive from its own just recently opened up Toyota Research Institute, said to reporters at the Buyer Electronic devices Demonstrated in 2016 that individuals would certainly need to stand by more than 4 years Our team are a very long way from the finish line from entirely autonomous vehicles," he claimed. ‘The building creaks and sways’: life in a skyscraper
From Chicago to Dubai, Manchester to Melbourne, our cities are climbing above the clouds. Whats it like to live on the 64th floor?
Cities is supported by About this content
Manhattans avenues stretch north like tracks through a forest, eventually disappearing into Harlem. Below me, Central Park is laid out like a picnic blanket, its largest trees rendered shrub-like. To the south, the Empire State Building pierces the citys canopy of stone and iron, and the blue glass of the new World Trade Center glints beyond it. Between them, the Statue of Liberty is almost lost in the haze.
This is the view from the worlds highest home, as enjoyed virtually, using Google Earth. Because to enjoy it in person would require knowing the unnamed owner of the 800 sq m penthouse at 432 Park Avenue or buying it for more than the $88m (71m) it sold for last year.
But there are alternatives for those with a head for heights and the money to match. Next year, the 426m Park Avenue tower will lose its title to 111 West 57th Street, rising two blocks to the west. Meanwhile in India, the 442m Mumbai World One will push higher still, its Armani-designed penthouses on level 117 offering airliner views of the Arabian Sea.
Once, only offices reached so high. In 2000, there were 215 office towers worldwide above 200m high (the first, the Metropolitan Life Tower in New York, was completed in 1909), but only three residential towers that high. Today, there are 255 residential towers above that height, with a further 184 under construction. Mixed-use towers, with apartments as well as offices and hotels, include the Burj Khalifa, still the worlds tallest building, at 828m. The Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, due to be completed in 2020, will be the first to break 1,000m. Its highest apartments will be on the 156th floor.
What is life like up there? For decades, tower blocks typically comprised social or affordable housing in crowded cities or on new estates. Hundreds were built in the postwar social housing boom, in cities across Europe. But today the highest residential towers are overwhelmingly luxury developments, and many remain empty, weeks after selling. If skyscrapers broke ground as barometers of corporate hubris, increasingly they now stand for personal excess, applying gravity to the wealth divide.
Britain, traditionally a low-rise country, is part of the boom. Skyscraper clusters are casting shadows across London. In Manchester, the first 200m building outside the capital is due for completion next year. Even in Bristol, where St Mary Redcliffe church has been unrivalled in its heavenwards reach for more than six centuries, there are plans for a 22-storey residential tower that would come close.
Jason Gabel, an urban planner at the Chicago-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, which keeps a global skyscraper database, says advances in building technology partly explain the trend. Lifts can now travel at more than 40mph and climb for hundreds of metres, thanks to lightweight carbon fibre ropes. Sophisticated dampening systems at the tops of towers mean slender buildings can rise higher, on smaller urban plots, without toppling in a storm or swaying to the point of causing nausea.
For a growing number of city dwellers, day-to-day life can be a little different. The payoff for peace and endless views can be five-minute waits for the lift at rush hour and even sunburn. You could get tanned in winter if you sat right by the window: theres a bit of a greenhouse effect, the owner of a 64th-floor apartment above Chicago tells me. Vertigo can be another danger. At the top of a tower in east London, former taxi driver Sammy Dias rarely uses his balcony: I dont like heights, and if people go out and start messing about, I can get quite angry, he says from a safe distance inside.
I spoke to residents around the world, and many reported feeling uplifted by their elevated perspective, but there are hidden downsides: a Canadian study of heart attack victims showed survival rates dropped markedly on higher floors, because they were harder for paramedics to reach.
Skyscraping homes have always held an allure; a house with a view, a life in the sky. They frequently evoke dystopian imagery; Ern Goldfingers troubled Trellick Tower in west London, completed in 1972, is thought to have inspired JG Ballards dark thriller High-Rise. It was originally entirely owned by the Greater London Council, and rented out as council flats. Now social tenants of the Grade II*-listed building, and its sister, Balfron Tower in east London, are being displaced by upwards gentrification. Less desirable council towers are reaching the end of their habitable lives, facing decay, demolition or expensive repair.
Meanwhile, the upper floors of many new luxury skyscrapers serve as foreign cash stores: giant briefcases with views. The highest homes in Britain are the 10 luxury apartments between floors 53 and 65 of the Shard. They are among the most opulent in London, yet almost five years after their completion, none is occupied or even for sale or rent. The reason remains a mystery.
Stacking people on shelves is a very efficient method of human isolation, says Jan Gehl, a veteran Danish architect and renowned urban design consultant. A critic of residential towers even where they are fully occupied, Gehl likens them to gated mansions in the sky. Humans, he says, did not evolve to look up or down: We have seen, in the past 20 years, a withdrawal from society into the private sphere, and towers are an easy way to achieve that.
Is this the experience of those who live above our rising cities? Finding out isnt easy; even when or if they are home, residents of the most rarefied apartments in the world are hard to identify, much less reach. But all human life is there, way up on the 64th floor.
Mike Palumbo, 50, trader; Water Tower Place, Chicago
Mike and Veronica Palumbo on the 64th floor of Water Tower Place, Chicago: Oprah used to live a few floors down. Photograph: Alyssa Schukar for the Guardian
Chicago born and raised, Mike Palumbo is a Bulls fan who grew up on the edge of the city, the son of a truck parts salesman. From a corner near his house, he would gaze at the John Hancock tower, the matt-black, tapering monolith near the lakeshore, and dream big. When I hit 13, I went to high school downtown, Palumbo says. I would take the L train to within a block of the John Hancock. Back then, there was this guy called Spiderman whod climb up it with suction cups. I loved it. Id walk around and I was like, man, Id rather be in the city where all the action is. This is me.
Palumbo became a fund manager and in 2007 made $100m. For 18 years, he has lived in an eight-bedroom apartment on the 64th floor of Water Tower Place, an exclusive residence right across the street from his favourite skyscraper. Oprah Winfrey used to live a few floors down, Palumbo says as we look out, and down, on a forest of skyscrapers. David Axelrod, President Obamas chief strategist, remains a neighbour and chairs the pets committee on the buildings management board. Im a dog lover, but there are people who dont want them in the building, says Palumbo, who also sits on the board. You try to get along, but youve got a lot of very successful people arguing over minuscule things.
The Palumbos view of Chicagos John Hancock Center. Photograph: Alyssa Schukar for the Guardian
Half of Palumbos apartment is a man cave, with cigars in a jar on a bar next to a pool table. The other half is crammed with the accessories of parenthood: Palumbo and his second wife, Veronica, had twins last year, and their nanny lives with them. They add five minutes to any journey to allow time to get everything into the elevator. He has four grown-up children from his first marriage, who often visit.
As a young trader, Palumbo got job offers from Wall Street, but never wanted to leave Chicago. I just love this view, he says. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is open the blinds and let the sun come in. It doesnt get any better. Yet he is also scared of heights. Im OK with the windows, but if this was a ledge, Id be freaking out right now. He opens the window and a gust of wind slaps our faces. A spiders web somehow still clings to the frame. I never understand how these guys get all the way up here, he says.
Below us, I count more than a dozen rooftop swimming pools. The 423m Trump Tower dominates the skyline to the south. Later, a cleaning cradle winds past and the men with rags avoid looking through the glass. I would not want that job, Palumbo says.
Ian Simpson, 61, architect; Beetham Tower, Manchester
We want to intensify the city, not spread it out, says Ian Simpson, at his home on the 47th floor of the Manchester skyscraper he designed. Photograph: Fabio de Paola for the Guardian
Ian Simpson is from a family of demolition experts and grew up in a poor northern suburb of Manchester. I spent my youth climbing up mill chimneys and blowing them up, he says. But, somewhere along the way, I went from knocking things down to putting them back up again.
Simpson became one of Britains leading architects and has been instrumental in Manchesters regeneration, not least since an IRA bomb destroyed large parts of the city centre in 1996. He now occupies a unique position at the top of his own skyscraper, a steel-and-glass eyrie from which he surveys a city he has helped shape. At 47 floors, Beetham Tower cuts a lonely, slender figure above south Manchester, the tallest building in Britain outside London. Nobody thought it was going to stand alone, Simpson says in his vast, two-storey penthouse, which includes what may be Manchesters only olive grove. Other tall buildings had consent, but then we hit the recession.
For 10 years, Simpson and his partner have enjoyed uninterrupted views. The light here is spectacular, he says. It animates the space as it moves around; I find it very uplifting. Its like a little oasis right in the city. But the architect is happy that Manchester is on the rise again. There are plans for almost a dozen new towers above 30 storeys, chief among them the Owen Street development. Designed by Simpsons practice, which he leads with architect Rachel Haugh, it will include a 200m tower of 49 floors, a new high for the city.
Simpsons view of Manchester. Photograph: Fabio de Paolo for the Guardian
This is what Manchester needs, Simpson says. Historically, nobody lived in the city centre. If you had money, you lived in the leafy suburbs to the south; if you didnt, you lived to the north like me. Thats changing, and we need to have a critical mass to create the jobs and demand for everything else, whether its bars and restaurants or infrastructure.
I have a lovely painting in my office down there of the city in the 18th century. It was a city of towers but they were mill chimneys. When that changed, there were gaps, which generally became car parks. We want to fill those gaps and intensify the city, not spread it out. Like those chimneys, Simpson says, tall buildings provide not only a function, but also an image of confidence.
We move from the living area into the olive grove, which occupies a sort of penthouse conservatory, facing south. Thirty miles to the west, Liverpool is visible on a clear day. The trees, more than 30 of them, were shipped from Italy and lowered through the roof before the buildings crane came down. They love it up here, Simpson says. But theres no pollination: we dont get any bees this high, so there are no olives.
Farimah Moeini, 35, media sales manager; Ocean Heights, Dubai
Its a bubble: when I was 16, you heard Arabic music and saw local people, says Farimah Moeini of Dubai, where she lives on the 68th floor. Photograph: Siddharth Siva for the Guardian
As a teenager in Tehran, Farimah Moeini would often fly to Dubai with family and friends. She knew only the old town because that was all there was. Everything you can see here was sand, she says via video call from the Dubai apartment she shares with her British husband, Luke, and their baby, Liam. The Palm, Dubai Marina, all these towers: none of it existed. I remember going to the older malls. Wed have shawarmas and use fake IDs to try to get into bars and clubs. Then it started to grow and it hasnt stopped.
Moeini left Tehran, where her father owned a textiles factory, to go to college in the US. In 2009, she got a job with Yahoo and moved to Dubai at a time when rents were cheap following the global financial downturn. She met Luke, who works in real estate, the following year. They live in a one-bed apartment on the 68th floor of Ocean Heights, a residential block in the marina. Burj Khalifa, the worlds tallest building, looms 13 miles along the coast.
Moeinis view of Dubai. Photograph: Siddharth Siva for the Guardian
You do feel as if youre in a bubble, Moeini says. Sometimes I pinch myself, because a lot of the lifestyle is not really real. Its all so clean and neat and safe. Theres a cultural bubble, too. When I was 16, you would hear Arabic music and see local people everywhere; it was more authentic. I also miss nature. In Iran, we have four seasons, and its beautiful when they change. Here, years go by and you dont know where you are.
But its a nice bubble. Its fun and easy to meet people from all around the world. Its a happy place. I also love being up here its insane how calm you feel. Just waking up every sunrise and staring out to sea is so soothing. If I sit on my sofa and look out, I can only see sea and sky. And they are real.
Sammy Dias, 77, retired taxi driver; Petticoat Tower, London
I cant go out on the balcony. They call this one the haunted flat, says Sammy Dias of his home on the 21st floor of Londons Petticoat Tower. Photograph: David Levene for the Guardian
For more than 30 years, Sammy Dias has lived in Petticoat Tower, a 1970s council block owned by the City of London Corporation, and for most of them hes been on the 21st floor, two down from the roof. On a sunny January afternoon, he draws back the net curtain in his living room and looks east towards Stratford.
Look at that you see the Olympic Stadium there? he asks. The buildings zigzag roof supports come into view three miles away. Since the 2012 Games, it has become dwarfed by taller apartment buildings. Just look at the amount of flats that have gone up: its unbelievable. Its almost happened overnight.
The Gherkin and 110 Bishopsgate flank Petticoat Tower. Photograph: David Levene for the Guardian
Dias drove a black cab in and around the Square Mile for 45 years, until he retired five years ago. From street level and above, he has watched London rise. The Gherkin, just 200m away, casts a shadow over his building. 110 Bishopsgate, with its rooftop sushi restaurant and exposed lifts, rears up just two streets to the west.
Dias turns his gaze down over Aldgate, a hodgepodge of housing and mushrooming hotels, and Petticoat Lane market, where clothing has been sold for centuries. I worked down there when I was an 11-year-old, pulling barrows out, he says. Every stall sells the same thing now. You see that brown building there? Thats where I was born: number one Herbert House.
Dias didnt plan to live high up, and never uses his tiny balcony. He hates heights. Im OK sitting here, but I cant go out there. They call this the haunted flat theres been a suicide from that balcony.
His first flat here was on the 11th floor, but he and his wife, Phyllis, a jewellers bookkeeper, moved up in 1994, when a two-bed flat became available. Soon after, she developed Alzheimers disease; she died in 2001.
It took a while to get used to living here alone, but I have a good routine now, Dias says, sitting in one of the rooms two armchairs. Photos of the couple stand on an old dresser. Sometimes I wake up early and lie there and reminisce, or I might read the paper. Then I get up, have a wash and the radio goes on. I listen to Radio X with Chris Moyles. I cant stand him, but I love the music. Later, Ill go out and meet the little old boy on the estate with the frame. We go to the Bell, where I had my first drink aged 16. Ill have two pints of lager, then two maximum three gin and lemonades, come back up here, have my grub, get relaxed and go to bed.
Dias plans to live out the rest of his days here. My mind is all there. I went to school up until age 11, and I could still tell you everyone who was in my class. Its the genes; Ive got a 90-year-old sister and we have a conversation on the phone. April the first I was born, I was married April 1st and, the way I feel sometimes, Im gonna snuff it on April 1st. Ill do the treble.
A City of London housing officer recently came to discuss a move into a one-bed flat. Dias had suggested it himself, but declined when it became clear that it would mean leaving the building. I said, Ive got friends here! This is my area. Ive got everything and Im happy. Do you know what I call it? I call it my castle.

WHY DOCKER CONTAINERS WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD
Migrating apps to the cloud
Moving existing workloads to the cloud used to be a choice between IaaS and PaaS. The PaaS option means matching the requirements of your app to the product catalogue of your chosen cloud, and adopting a new architecture with components which are all managed services:
This is good for operational costs and efficiency, but it takes a project to make it happen – you’ll need to change code and run full regression test suites. And when you go live, you’re only running on one cloud, so if you want to go multi-cloud or hybrid, it’s going to take another project.
The alternative is IaaS which means renting VMs in the cloud. It takes less initial effort as you just need to spin up a suite of VMs and use your existing deployment artifacts and tools to deploy your apps:
But copying your VM landscape from the datacenter to the cloud just means copying over all your operational and infrastructure inefficiencies. You still have to manage all your VMs, and they’re still massively under-utilised, but now you have a monthly bill showing you how inefficient it all is.
The new way is to move your apps to containers first and then run them in the cloud. You can use your existing deployment artifacts to build Docker container images, so you don’t need to change code. You can containerize pretty much anything if you can script the deployment into a Dockerfile – it could be a 15-year-old .NET 2.0 app or last year’s Node.js app:
Dockerized apps run in the same way everywhere, so developers can run the whole stack locally using Docker Desktop. You can run them in the datacentre or the cloud using Docker Enterprise or choose your cloud provider’s container service. These apps are now portable, run far more efficiently than they did on VMs and use the latest operating systems, so it’s a great way to move off Windows Server 2003 and 2008, which is soon to be out of support.
 Delivering cloud native apps
Everywhere from start-ups to large enterprises, people are seeing the benefits from a new type of application architecture. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) defines these types of apps as having a microservices design, running in containers and dynamically managed by a container platform.
Cloud native apps run efficiently and scale easily. They’re self-healing, so application and infrastructure issues don’t cause downtime. And they’re designed to support fast, incremental updates. Microservices running in containers can be updated independently, so a change to the product catalogue service can be rolled out without having to test the payment service, because the payment service isn’t changing:
This architecture is from the microservices-demo sample on GitHub, which is all packaged to run in containers, so you can spin up the whole stack on your laptop. It uses a range of programming languages and databases chosen as the best fit for each component.
 Modernizing traditional apps
You can run your existing applications and your new cloud native applications in Docker containers on the same cluster. It’s also a great platform for evolving legacy applications, so they look and feel more like cloud native apps, and you can do it without a 2-year rearchitecture project. You start by migrating your application to Docker. This example is for a monolithic ASP.NET web app and a SQL Server database:
Now you can start breaking features out of the monolith and running them in separate containers. Version 2 could use a reverse proxy to direct traffic between the existing monolith and a new application homepage running in a separate container:
This is a simple pattern for breaking down web UIs without having to change code in the original monolith. For the next release you could break out an internal feature of the application and expose it as a REST API running in another container:
These new components are completely independent of the original monolith. You can use whatever tech stack you like. Each feature can have its own release cadence, and you can run each component at the scale it needs.
 Technical innovation: Serverless
By now you’ve got legacy apps, cloud native apps and evolved monoliths all running in Docker containers on the same cluster. You build, package, distribute, run and manage all the components of all the apps in the same way. Your entire application landscape is running on a secure, modern and open platform.
It doesn’t end there. The same platform can be used to explore technical innovations. Serverless is a promising new deployment model and it’s powered by containers. AWS Lambda and Azure functions are proprietary implementations, but there are plenty of open-source serverless frameworks which you can deploy with Docker in the datacentre or in the cloud:
The CNCF serverless working group has defined the common architecture and pipeline processes of the current options. If you’re interested in the serverless model, but you’re running on-premises or across multiple clouds, then an open framework is a good option to explore. Nuclio is simple to get started with and it runs in Docker containers on the same platform as your other apps.
 Process innovation: DevOps
The next big innovation is DevOps, which is about breaking down the barriers between teams who build software and teams who run software with the goal of getting better quality software to market faster. DevOps is more about culture and process than it is about software, but it’s difficult to make impactful changes if you’re still using the same technologies and tools.
CALMS is a good framework for understanding the areas to focus on in DevOps transformation. It’s about culture, automation, lean, metrics and sharing as key pieces. It’s much easier to make progress and to quantify success in those areas if you underpin them with technical change. Adopting containers underpins that framework:
It’s much easier to integrate teams together when they’re working with the same tools and speaking the same language – Dockerfiles and Docker Compose files live with the application source code and are jointly owned by Dev and Ops. They provide a common ground to work together.
Automation is central to Docker. It’s much harder to manually craft a container than it is to automate one with a Dockerfile. Breaking apps into small units supports lean, and you can bake metrics into all those components to give you a consistent way of monitoring different types of apps. Sharing is easy with Docker Hub where there are hundreds of thousands of apps packaged as Docker images.[Source]-https://www.pluralsight.com/blog/it-ops/docker-containers-take-over-world

What is Kubernetes
So What is Kubernetes?
Kubernetes is a portable, extensible, open-source platform for managing containerized workloads and services—with a framework to run distributed systems resiliently. It takes care of your scaling requirements, failover, deployment patterns, scaling, load balancing, logging, and monitoring, much like PaaS offerings. However, it operates at the container level rather than at the hardware level.
It was initially built upon a decade and a half of the Google experience running production workloads. Open-sourced in 2014, Kubernetes is now a growing ecosystem that combines best practices for application deployment to run some of the largest software services by scale.
The name Kubernetes is derived from a Greek term meaning ‘helmsman’ or ‘pilot.’ True to this word, Kubernetes provides the guiding force for developer platforms to transition from virtual machines (VMs) to containers and the statically scheduled to the dynamically scheduled. This means no more manual integration and configuration when you move from a testing environment to an actual production environment or from on-premise to the cloud! The Kubernetes logical compute environment offers common services to all the applications in the cluster as part of the ecosystem for the software to run consistently.
 Kubernetes: The Container Orchestration Tool
Kubernetes allows you to manage hundreds of containers and clusters of hosts on which containers are executed. When you deploy your containerized applications to a group of computers, Kubernetes automates their distribution and scheduling, working as an orchestration platform to simplify the work of technical teams.
Particularly, in instances when you need to manage applications with hundreds of containers spread across multiple hosts, a container orchestration tool like Kubernetes manages the workloads in a compute cluster, connecting to the outside world for scheduling, load balancing, and distribution.
 The Kubernetes DevOps Tool
The container orchestration capability of Kubernetes closes the gap between IT operations and development, making a great collaborative DevOps environment for sharing software and their dependencies seamlessly between different environments.
It facilitates the software lifecycle and the enabler teams in the build-test-deploy timeline:
Developer environment, by helping to run the software in any setting
QA/Testing process, through coordinated pipelines between test and production
Sys-admin, by running anything once configured
Operations, by offering a comprehensive solution for building, shipping, and scaling software
Kubernetes has emerged as a good actor in DevOps as it focuses on features and bugs rather than time-intensive tasks to enable better software to be shipped with a smooth DevOps workflow.
Benefits of Using Kubernetes
Although we have several tools in DevOps that are equally popular like the Docker, Kubernetes wins the votes. This is because of the many benefits that far outweigh other tools.
 Among its many attributes, Kubernetes:
Lays the foundations for developing and building cloud-native applications that can run anywhere, independent of cloud requirements
Speeds up the process of building, testing, and releasing software
Has the ability to handle scaling-up of both applications and infrastructure in real-time
Tackles workload scalability on the fly
Controls resource consumption and hardware use
Balances application load across the host infrastructure
Moves an application to another host in the event of resource shortage
Facilitates easy rollbacks
Tests and auto-corrects applications
Delivers the software quickly with better compliance
Increases transparency and collaboration within the teams and pipelines
Effectively minimizes security risk while controlling cost
Increases the efficiency of server usage
Renders health-check of your apps and self-heals with auto-placement, auto-restart, auto-replication, and auto-scaling
Can be combined with other open-source projects to orchestrate all parts of your container infrastructure
Supports better IT security
Helps manage your containerized applications more easily and quickly
Increases developer productivity
Automates patches and updates
Allows visibility for in-process and failed deployments with status query support
Saves time when a deployment is paused at any time, to be quickly resumed later
Allows version control with newer versions of application images or a rollback when the current version is not stable
Supports container balancing as it automatically places containers by computing the best location
Manages your batch and compute-intensive (CI) workloads for efficient batch execution
Reduces the time to onboard new projects and applications
The benefits of Kubernetes extend beyond the development, testing, and production environment to perform mission-critical tasks in large-scale businesses.
 Features of Kubernetes
Kubernetes offers the widest range of features required to deploy containerized applications.
 Portable and Open-Sourced
As an open-source platform, Kubernetes can run containers on any number of public clouds, virtual machines, or infrastructures. Its compatibility with most platforms makes it highly flexible and usable.
 Programming Language and Framework Support
Kubernetes supports most programming languages and frameworks.
 Automatic Resource Bin Packing
The application is packaged, and the containers scheduled based on available resources, allowing optimal utilization of unused resources. As Kubernetes enables you to specify the CPU and RAM needs of each container, the containers can be slotted to increase compute efficiency and ultimately lowers costs.
 Container Deployment Control
Kubernetes allows complete control over the number of containers you want with deployment and keeps those containers ready with a rollout. Thus, you can automate Kubernetes to create new containers, remove existing containers, or adopt all of their resources to a new container.
 DevOps Engineer Master's Program
Bridge between software developers and operationsEXPLORE COURSE
Automated Rollouts and Rollbacks
Versions and updates are automated and running, so you don’t waste time or resources on downtime. Also, the health of the application is screened during rollout to automatically rollback in the case of any glitch or failure.
 Health Checks and Self-healing
It checks the health of nodes and containers to ensure than an application doesn’t fail. In case of a pod crash or an error, Kubernetes automatically restarts containers that fail, replaces or kills containers that don’t match user-defined health checks, and doesn’t make them available to clients until they are client-ready.
 Secure Configuration Management
You can store and manage user information such as passwords and SSH keys, deploy secrets and application configuration without rebuilding your container images, and do all of this without exposing secrets in your stack configuration.
 Service Discovery and Load Balancing
Kubernetes can expose a container using the DNS or IP address. For high traffic to a container, it can automatically balance the loads into the pods and distribute the network traffic for the stable deployment of software.
This supports the distribution of load and auto-balancing of resources instantly during incidental traffic or batch processing.
 Storage Orchestration
You can automatically mount a storage system or orchestrate containers on multiple hosts.
Auto-Scaling of Resources and Applications in Real-Time
Kubernetes offers several features for auto-scaling. You can deploy and control the number of containers based on computing resources, workload balance, and scale-out your software or create applications on more containers by grouping containers in pods. Horizontal autoscaling is another feature whereby Kubernetes auto-scalers automatically size a deployment’s number of pods based on the usage of specified resources and at the individual server level.
New servers can be added or removed easily. Kubernetes can thus automatically expose your containers to the internet or other containers in the cluster to automatically load balance traffic across matching containers.
 Heterogeneous Clusters
Kubernetes allows you to build your cluster with a mix of virtual machines on the cloud, on-premise, or in your data center, to suit your requirements.
 Persistent Storage Support
Kubernetes workflow includes support for Amazon Web Services EBS, Google Cloud Platform persistent disks, and other storage.
 Workload Support
Kubernetes supports a variety of workloads: stateless, stateful, data-processing.
 Application Type Support
Kubernetes offers complete support for the application types, application frameworks, and language without differentiating between apps and services.

   Takeaway
Kubernetes has emerged as the cornerstone of DevOps. Its many benefits and flexibility make it the preferred choice of companies when they want to develop, test, and deploy their products and services. Thus, more and more companies are investing in the container management system and Kubernetes.

Adopting Kubernetes? These guidelines make the transition easier
When it comes to container orchestration, Kubernetes is close to the kind of market domination once experienced by Microsoft Windows. But Kubernetes is far from a ready-to-go, do-it-all container orchestration tool. Before any business can adopt Kubernetes, IT professionals must consider many issues. At the Red Hat Summit in Boston, some of Red Hat's top Kubernetes experts—including Josh Berkus, Kubernetes community lead; Brian Gracely, OpenShift director of product strategy; and Joe Beda, Heptio CTO and one of Kubernetes’s creators—shared insights and set expectations.
The initial step, of course, is to understand the advantages. To grok Kubernetes, said Beda, "first you have to understand why everyone got so excited about Docker and containers.” Docker, and the technologies it is built upon, allowed people to test a server program on a laptop. Then you could port it to the production environment with few changes and a high degree of predictability.
With Kubernetes, Beda said, you can improve automation, efficiency, and workflow. Doing so “can change the way people start thinking about deploying, building, and operating software," he said.
Worth the effort
The reasons to use Kubernetes are straightforward. It goes like this:
Kubernetes makes it easier to run and manage containers;
which makes it easier to build new applications;
which enables you to run them on a hybrid cloud; and
transforms the way you run your business.
But to do that, you must get your developers and operations staff on board with Kubernetes. Make certain each team can deploy faster and easier to Kubernetes than to their old environments, the experts said.
Specifically, that means not asking "your developers to do packaging," said Berkus. "You don't ask your programmers to be Kubernetes managers. Instead, you have to let programmers be programmers."
As the IT staff starts using a Kubernetes-based environment, "make sure their tools are familiar, easy to use, integrate with their workflow, and support teamwork," noted Berkus. Integrating tools like Ansible, GitHub, and Eclipse Che into your new Kubernetes-based structure. Only by doing this can you get developer buy-in, which is a key part of your Kubernetes deployment plan, he added.
One element that leads to success is to recognize that Linux is fundamental to modern containers, particularly for managing resources. True, there are Docker-compatible Windows containers, but they are not used much outside of a few Windows shops. For most practical purposes, "Linux is in every single container, and the Linux OS host spans every container," Beda pointed out.
In short, if you plan to use Kubernetes to manage your containers, your system administrators and DevOps need to know Linux like the back of their hands, said the experts. Kubernetes is Linux-based. No Linux, no Kubernetes.
Not quite out of the box
Adopting Kubernetes requires planning. Your first choice is whether to use a do-it-yourself approach or a commercial distribution. While Linux has a long DIY tradition, in this case, the conference panelists said, even Kubernetes geeks use commercial distributions.
That’s because the Kubernetes “box" includes the API server, default controller, default scheduler, the Kubelet node agent, and the Kubectl command-line-based client. Sounds more like tools and parts rather than a ready-to-run program, doesn't it? That's exactly right. It’s best to think of Kubernetes as a stack definition, not an application.
Twenty years ago, Linux was the same way. The OS was a collection of components and tools, and turning it into a usable system required experts.
To gain a deep understanding, the conference panelists recommended Kelsey Hightower's "Kubernetes: The Hard Way." This well-regarded resource, the panelists agreed, is not for people who want an automated approach to bringing up a Kubernetes cluster. “It's optimized for learning, so it takes the long road to ensure you understand every task required to bootstrap a Kubernetes cluster," Gracely said.
If you don't want to become an expert and just want to get Kubernetes up and running, three other hands-on approaches are recommended: Kubeadm, Kubespray, and Kops.
Kubeadm makes it (relatively) easy to bootstrap a minimum-viable Kubernetes cluster. The resulting cluster is useful for learning Kubernetes, but it's not really meant for creating a production system. Kubespray, on the other hand, uses the Ansible DevOps program to create a small production Kubernetes cluster on most popular clouds. Finally, Kops creates and manages production-grade Kubernetes clusters on Amazon Web Services; it's currently being ported to other clouds.
Expect to update regularly
No matter which approach you take, you need to deal with Kubernetes' high-velocity development. Or, as the Red Hat conference panelists put it, "The good part: You get all the new stuff, right away. The bad part: You get all the new stuff, right away."
You see, there's a new Kubernetes release every three months. Let me repeat that: There's a new version every three months. Oh, and there are no long-term support editions. There's only patch support for nine months. Not to mention that alpha and beta features can break compatibility.
Scary, isn't it?
Quick iterations may be fine for development and for learning Kubernetes, but it's clearly not an operations-friendly approach. For production, you really need a distribution. Picking the right Kubernetes blend for your company is essential.
Red Hat, of course, recommends its own OpenShift. While that is a good choice, there are many other options.
First, look at the cloud-specific Kubernetes distributions. These include Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Google Kubernetes Engine. Note that if you use these, it may be harder to use Kubernetes as the foundation for a hybrid cloud.
Among the popular vendor-specific Kubernetes distros, which can be used on any cloud, are Canonical Distribution of Kubernetes; Docker Enterprise 3.0 with Docker Kubernetes Service; Mirantis Cloud Platform; Pivotal Container Service; Rancher 2.0; and SUSE Container as a Service. Each comes with its own take on Kubernetes. For example, SUSE's offering works over any existing cloud-specific Kubernetes, and PKS works hand in glove with VMware services.
Kubernetes is not a miracle worker. It's just a piece of your platform. That said, when deployed correctly, "Kubernetes will simplify complexity while enabling your company to automate your operations and application deployment on a hybrid cloud," Gracely said.
Once you have the right Kubernetes mix in place, though, your company can deploy applications faster, manage your workflow more efficiently, and run a more efficient IT shop.[Source]-https://www.hpe.com/us/en/insights/articles/adopting-kubernetes-these-guidelines-make-the-transition-easier-1906.html

10 Deadly Mistakes to Avoid When Learning Java
To code or not to code? It seems that you’ve made your choice in favor of the first option. Programming is a great field for professional growth, It gives you an opportunity to take part in interesting projects and work wherever you want.
The only obstacle that restrains many beginners from starting a new career is the lack of understanding of how exactly should they learn to code. What’s more important is that even the best universities can’t fully provide the education, which will guarantee a stark career as a software developer. The thing is that programming is too dynamic and flexible: once you start learning, you better do it for the rest of your life.
Some programmers say, that they’ve been trying to learn how to code a few times before finally reaching their goal. Yes, we all learn through mistakes, but you’ll be surprised how many common lapses are there in mastering this skill.
Troubleshooting your learning experience
If you’re determined to learn Java programming, here are few useful thoughts for you. Let’s talk about mistakes, which almost all beginners do.
Too many research, too little practice
Here’s what happens when you try to learn to code the ordinary way. All of us are used to study by reading books: the thicker the book, the more knowledge you will get, right? Sorry, this is not the case for programming.
A lack of practice in coding is fatal. Just start coding. Start from the first day of your study and practice every single day. You won’t learn to box or dance by watching videos. And you won’t get confident in coding unless you make it your daily habit.
2. Endless studying without a certain goal
Some students, despite their age, simply love to learn. It’s the process, not the result they aim for. Of course, it’s always great to broaden your scope, but you will probably agree that there’s no point in wasting hundreds (if not thousands of hours) to get a trendy hobby.
In coding, even if sometimes it’s kinda tough for you, you simply love it or not. Developers, that code just to earn more money, won’t get hired to Google or other company with a big name.
Because programming is simply not their vocation. Likewise, if it’s your passion, but you’re not ready to practice every day, programming might also be not for you.
3. Trying to reach too many technologies at once
Software development is a deep ocean of data and tools. If you try to learn everything that pops up and seems interesting, you might get stuck at the beginning totally confused.
This is why you need a certain plan, that in your case should include Java Core, coding projects plus the programming tools. It will also help you avoid the risk of being a lifelong learner and set your education in a defined timeframe.
4. Making gaps in your education
Remember that “code every day” motto of learning Java? Good. Think about it every time you have a lure to skip a few days of education. Taking a break as a beginner is more dangerous than it seems.
You start a new subject and it refers to the previous background which you already don’t remember at all. Such surprising “amnesia” will constantly drag you back, so do your best to move forward without any breaks.
5. Thinking that the only thing you need to start coding is knowing Java language
A language is a tool in the hands of a skilled creator. Some might say that you need to be brilliant at math to learn to code — no, you don’t. But knowing how to write the code won’t make you a programmer, too.
Programming needs plenty of other skills: a strong logic, problem-solving, the ability to visualize the structure and sequence of processes. An experienced programmer doesn’t start to write code before thinking through the logic of the solution.
6. Getting stuck on the tough pieces of theory
Often there’s no direct correlation between the amount of time which you spend on the tasks or research and the successfulness of this action. When you learn Java, persistence is important in solving tasks or making the sense of a fresh topic.
But sometimes you need to move on to get at the heart of your problem (later). A bit of friendly advice: don’t try to memorize code or delve too deep in “how the things work” in coding.
In Java, many processes run automatically, so you can focus on the intuitive feel of programming and getting even more skilled.
7. Ignoring the importance of a readable code
When you learn to programme, your first priority is to make that code work. Here’s why beginners don’t pay much attention to the readable code with clear comments, which could be “decrypted” in the future.
Here’s what most of the experienced programmers come across. When they find their first code, they don’t feel nostalgic. They try to understand, what in the world do those lines mean and exactly were they trying to accomplish. You will learn in a due course how to write readable code, but only if you make efforts.
8. Not testing your code regularly
Sad, but true: your code won’t always work as it was intended to. Be sure to check it regularly and don’t let the subsequent errors pile up. Instead of exhausting debugging and figuring out what and when’s gone wrong, you’ll deal with the smaller amount of problems on each stage.
9. Learning Java all alone
With so many online tools and sources for successful learning, you can easily become a self-educated programmer. One thing that’s missing is real communication. Your education would be much more effective if you join the community as soon as possible.
For example, Coderanch and Stack Overflow forums have large discussion threads for Java programmers. Also, there’s an Oracle Java Community, which prompts newcomers and experienced developers to join the Java Forum and follow updates from Oracle Java bloggers. Java community at Reddit has more than 107k people.
10. Thinking there will be the day when you know everything
Listen to more experienced colleagues as a junior developer and never stop learning. Programming is a profession in a field with constant upgrades, new features, and technologies, which you need to grasp to stay a sought-after specialist.
The revealed secrets of successful Java learning
Now when you know “the demons” you may have to fight with, you’re almost ready to commence. Ok, five more minutes, my friend. Here are some practical bits of advice to “adjust” your learning.
Schedule your education and minimize distractions. Create a plan and spare the time for learning daily. This will be your time strictly for building a bright future, not for chatting or tweeting :)
CODE EVERY DAY. No matter what, practice every day and use tools to help you improve programming skills. Learning Java programming is useless without the real coding, which takes at least three times as much as theoretical researches. You’ll find a few sources for an effective and entertaining coding below.
Ask the right questions. It’s okay to get help from developers community if you need a hint. Be sure to ask the specific questions instead of “something went wrong, can you help?”. You will become more confident if you’ll be a part of the programmers’ team. Read media, join discussions on Stack Overflow and Coderanch forums, make virtual friends on coding courses and work on complicated projects together.
Make your work visible. Create a portfolio and give others a chance to see your work. You don’t code for yourself, right? Let alone you need a portfolio to get your first job as a Java developer.
Continue learning every day, even after you succeed. Learning might be hard. Here’s why many stop trying right before it “clicks”. But you’ll have all the chances to succeed with the right planning, friendly environment, the right tools, desire to learn and motivation.
Altogether, today you have the widest choice of sources: Java blogs, guides, tutorials, courses, coding “battlefields”. So just take them in the right proportions, mix your educational “cocktail” and take the first sip :)
Where to train your Java skills
No matter what kind of education you choose — video lectures, offline studying with an experienced mentor, online courses or self-education by reading books and guides — you need hundreds of hours of practice to become a confident and skilled Java developer. There’s no such thing as too much practice in coding. Luckily, there are plenty of tools to make this process entertaining.
1. The sources for coding in multiple languages:
CodeAcademy — learn to code by coding.
 The education on CodeAcademy includes practical tasks from the first lesson. Of course, they are very simple at the beginning not to scare anyone off, but gradually they become more complicated. Try to find the solution by yourself, and if it’s kind of tough, just click on the useful hints right at the taskbar or go to the FAQ section. It can be a good complementary tool in learning Java to sharpen your programming skills, but you’ll need other sources for learning key concepts;
Codewars — join the coding competition.
Try Codewars when you learn the fundamentals and become more confident at coding. This is an online platform, where you can compete with other programmers and sharpen your skills of coding in numerous programming languages. You can write your solutions in a browser and check them step by step, code individually or tackle the tasks in a group. The more tasks you solve, the more you get.
2. Strictly for learning a practicing Java [Source]-https://medium.com/javarevisited/10-deadly-mistakes-to-avoid-when-learning-java-aead894e64f4

Java Vs. Python – Which Programming Language is More Productive?
Once upon a time, software developers were dwelling in C-class programming languages and environment. After a few years, Java emerged on the horizon as a better choice with some unique advantages. For instance,
 Java is a compiled language
To run Java code on any computing machine/device, you have to install Java Virtual Machine first.
Java has better OOP support, compact, and comprehensive coding patterns.
Java has powerful libraries, which enable developers to go beyond desktops, web, and even mobile application development.
Recently, a new powerful and advantageous programming language came on the surface, and it is Python.
Unlike Java, the Python has interpreted language.
Therefore, Python doesn’t need any virtual machine to run the code.
Instead, Python code directly interpreted by the machines and convert into byte code that machines can follow/understand.
These are some basic differences between Java and Python. If you are in a dilemma to make a selection between these two superstar programming languages, we will help you to get correct insights by giving the advanced difference. Let’s go ahead.
Which One Is Trendy? Java or Python?
Java Trends:
Java is passing its mid-life and getting older to fade off from the trends gradually in the programming market. However, the popularity of Java in enterprises and mobile application development is immense.
Among the static types of programming scripting, Java is still a king.
Java is a well-defined language so you can’t write code without defining a class first.
Being an awesome OOP language, mentors who prepare developers are prescribed to learn Java first. Thus, a developer can get accustomed to the latest coding styles, patterns, and best practices.
Java is multithreaded language and runs on 8 core CPU
Due to stiff competitions in the market, genuine Java developers are making it compact in code, faster the coding before ever, and bring more flexibility from previous versions.
Thanks to powerful JVM, cross-compatibility across the platforms and devices are incompatible & unbeatable in the market.
Therefore, 90% of the Fortune 500 companies or enterprises are preferring Java.
Google has selected Java for its Android platform right from the beginning due to its immense benefits in technical as well as general senses.
Python Trends:
Today, Python is getting amazing growth and popularity in developed and affluent countries where people are open and afford upcoming technologies such as AI, IoT, Machine Learning, and Big Data-based application development as well as implementations in innovative startups.
Python is highly useful in desktop applications, web application, network servers, and media tools.
Python is great to improve the productivity of developers, bring flexibility in language, have the support of excellent libraries, and easy to learn, particularly who knows at least one OOP scripting like Java.
Python is single threaded due to its Global Interpreter Lock (GIL) and runs on a single CPU core at the moment.
Python is favorite among new generation developers, and demands of Python developers is higher than Java. Therefore, Python developers earn a higher salary than Java developers.
Python coding requires fewer code lines to express the same thing by Java. It saves a lot of time in coding and inspection of code when any bug or anomalies happen.
Python Is a Literate Programming Language
In early days, a programming language was solely used for application development, but today, it has a variety of applications other than development. It means non-programmers are also jumped on the code without programming skills.
Java has concise syntax and developer friendly to create software applications. However, Python is differing in this front. It is simple as the English language and easy to code with a smooth learning curve.
Another significant aspect of Python is capable of building good coding techniques for a robust range of applications/usages. Therefore, Python is becoming a popular programming language in technical schools and universities. The student never feels that they are doing special things like programming. Instead, they approach it as writing an essay.
In literate programming techniques, code, explanatory prose, images, graphs, and other presentation material belong to single documents and code remains executable with the environment. Python supports literate programming environment using Leo and Jupiter Notebook like IDEs.
Therefore, Python, being a literate programming language excels in various areas such as presentation, demonstrations, teaching, collaboration, and research.
Comparison of Performance Aspects of Python and Java
When we technically say that Java is using a virtual machine (JVM) to execute the code on any machine, we know it always will remain fast in performance. Interpreted programming always slow in performance. Therefore, Python remains slower compared to Java.
Unfortunately, it always not true. By rule, the performance of languages relies on the environment. Another issues need considerations are types and power of libraries, coding styles, and paradigm applied.
Python supports multiple paradigms such as functional, OOP, and mix of it. Whereas, Java only one and it is OOP. However, if you have developed an application in Python but when you are going to scale it, you have to come to Java. Thus, performance becomes a complex metric in a sense, and straightforward comparison with Java is a nightmare.
Market Share and Community Support Comparison – Java vs. Python
When we think of market share of a language, reliable market surveys are handy tools to know. According to such surveys carried before two years and in the current year, we have observed that Java remains on the top while Python in 2017 stood fifth, but in 2019, it is next to Java.
Surveyors have considered the popularity of a language based on its demand by the recruiters in terms of the number of job postings in a period. Thus, we can say differences are thin between Java and Python.
Another metric for comparison is the developer community. The more numbers of the community for a language than other indicates how developers have adopted it and what much strong support you can avail from the community.
Undoubtedly, Java has a larger developer community than Python in terms of user groups. Those groups are available on various technical forums and platforms. They also are capable of extending helping hands to another developer whether free of charges or with a reasonable fee.
One more fact needs to unveil here when we compare the popularity of a programming script. Some programming niches are more suitable for a particular language than others.
Multilingual FTW for Java & Python
Today, full stack development is a buzzword in the market. It means full stack developers have working capacities on various languages, platforms, and frameworks. Thus, a team of developers may prefer a particular language when they find suitable for particular projects and their goals.
For instance, Python is the best bet for data scientists, AI experts, and machine learning application development. Java may prove excellent when dynamic/server-side, embedded and cross-platform application development is necessities.
