Destiny Seeker is just mutual pining to the EXTREME basically.

Songkhram and Ai have both been in love for years, since they met, both pining after the other but unable to get closer due in part to their approach to romance and in part to their dorm choices keeping them apart. Now they're slowly getting closer and closer and all we really need is a confession from either of them to solve all their problems but they can't because they're still used to the status quo and don't know how to stop.

Meen and Pipe are a different story, longtime friends who are falling apart because they're in love with each other but don't believe they can be loved in return, Meen is growing paler and more withdrawn and quieter the more Pipe pulls away but Pipe keeps coming back to take care of him before pulling away again. Their love is pushing them apart and it's agony to watch them struggle with it and I really worry about next episode with them.

At this point, my biggest fear is Meen and Pipe. I think Pipe is going to keep pushing Meen away and that Meen simply cannot handle that. He's going to get himself hurt between the drinking and the listlessness and the hurt and Pipe is going to regret it... but I dunno. They are a secondary couple so they also might get together.

I'm not overly worried about Songkhram and Ai. Even though I know they're going to hurt each other again before the end, I don't think any of it is going to be super serious. They're both in this together and they just need to do a little figuring out together.

Half way through my Destiny Seeker binge watch and I'm enjoying it tremendously. Proper Thai uni BL with a bit of an edge - higher heat than usual and the most realistic beach frolic trip I've seen. Students getting absolutely hammered and making fools of themselves. I pity the poor staff.

And they're ALL ENGINEERS. Amazing. So instead of Engineer vs Architect we've got dorm rivalry. Ridiculous, ridiculous dorms with boys split into smart, sporty, pretty, wealthy etc etc. It's utterly mad and I loves it.

Main couple are idiots who've been pining after each other for 4 years without realising they're both in deep. Then we've got a perfectly cute actor/student who is ALSO been pining after someone for years (and who has hook ups because he's the only properly 'out' gay amongst this massive group of (apparently) pan/bi/gay men). The object of his affection is pining after one of our main couple though but at the end of Ep.5 (where I am now) he's apparently given up. Plus another baby couple who haven't really got going yet.

Throw in a sick mother and it's a delicious, classic BL pulp. A proper, not so guilty pleasure.

Songkhram and Ai are in their colors and exchanging their colors because they are color-coded boys in love

The baby gays even understand it

And their best friends, Pipe, a Green Guy, and Meen, a Yellow/Orange Oddity, even got their colors together this episode after working out their issues and finally started wearing their colors around each other, but they're keeping quiet about the reason (they slept together!)

This was all in ONE episode!

Ain't nobody doing it like them. They stay winning! I LOVE IT!

Songkhram likes Ai but Ai thinks he likes Meen because he was trying to make him jealous. And Ai really does like Songkhram but he doesn't think it's possible for them to like each other. And Meen likes Pipe who is trying to make a move on Ai because he thinks Meen is out of his reach.

... Hi, I love this. I love this so much. It's messy in the best way and so darling and I love these four idiots who have all their wires entirely crossed.

At least Tor, the cute little junior, seems to be more straightforward.

The way Pipe goes after Meen only after he knows Ai likes Songkhram but this time Meen pushes him away because he's trying to stop pining but it's just more proof to him that Meen couldn't possibly like him back, that Meen is out of his reach, when really it's just Meen at the end of his rope trying to gain back even a tiny bit of control.

My biggest worry in Destiny Seeker is still Pipe and Meen. They seem determined hurt each other and not just to hurt each other but to do so for the other person's benefit.

I just... watching Meen be encouraged to give up his pining and then have Pipe come to him and than leave again and the distance between them when we know they both care so, so much?

Yes, I am only on episode 6 but I am dying for them. They're my favorites and I love their dynamic. I just want more of them, damnit. More.

Oh no, Meen has been a baby forever. I love him so much. I just want to gather this boy up into a hug and protect him forever. What is going on, Pipe? Why do you keep pushing him away? This boy is just so darling. He breaks my heart and in a way I've been eager waiting for, honestly. Meen needed to have this breakdown and to have a real chance to try to give up his feelings... even though he and Pipe are just hurting each other so much. Ugh, my heart.

And Pipe caring about him so much but, for some reason, refusing to tell him or let him care. Even though he knows Meen loves him. Oh, man, these two are just... rough but in a way I love. Because Pipe knows that Meen loves him and cares deeply about him in return and cannot seem to face his own feelings for him.

Oh, it's so good.

(And the way it contrasts with Ai and Songkhram, the parallel pushing away of a person you care about only Ai is definitely coming around to the idea more easily than Meen is, he's take a lot less time then being friends their entire lives. Ai si also definitely trying harder than Pipe is to understand Songkhram and go to him.)

Oh, Pipe breaking Meen's heart by talking about the girlfriend that broke up with him and Meen just gently taking care of him and supporting him even while he's letting his own heart and hopes shatter. I love these boys so much, my tiny sad little pining idiots. And Pipe being nowhere near as drunk as he was acting... oh, they're my favorites y'all. I love mutual pining and I love one person trying to give up hope and I am so happy here.

I adore Meen and Pipe. Meen who's been in love with Pipe forever but is constantly encouraged to get over him because Pipe is showing no interest and Pipe who doesn't think he could possibly get Meen but is always showing up to rescue him... it's mutual pining but some of the harshest I've yet seen, where one half is trying desperately to give up and the other half seems unable to choose if he's going to pine or if he's also moving on to someone else. It's agonizing and I love it so much.

I love Meen so much. He's a true blue piner where everyone but the person he pines for knows how much he cares for him and the person he cares for has just entirely dismissed him and he still cant shake it, cant shake that feeling, cant stop loving Pipe despite how it hurts him. What a beloved baby.

Pipe and Songkhram fighting over flirting with Ai who's mostly just over it but also in this low self-esteem pining situation with Songkhram who is trying so hard to be in love with him in a way he can see but falls over his own feet at every turn? And Pipe flirting with Ai because he thinks Meen is out of reach while Meen is pining away for him on drama sets? This show was written entirely for me @absolutebl I know you're waiting to binge but they wrote another show just for me.

Destiny Seeker - what a little gem! Songkram and Ai are one of the sweetest, softest couples in BL land. All the other boys end up happy (including Touch, our token het - and I loved that him and his girl were wearing Pride bracelets). No faen fatales, nice parents, good friend group, no emotional distress - the Drama was external and nothing to do with their relationship. Mind you, I'd have quite like to have seen the pathetic, traitorous Ohm get grassed up to his father and been sent to the metaphorical salt mines for his sins.

And we ended up with two Dads and their baby. How sweet is that?

Undemanding and with a nice dash of spice. Loved it.
