A drabble is exactly 100 words, but this exchange also allows double drabbles (200 words) and triple drabbles (300 words).

As Jose Martinez announced earlier this year, the annual competition for higher spots in the hierarchy would concern coryphé(e)s and sujets only.

Premiere danseuse and premier danseur will be named outside of the competition.

And today they announced this year's nominations.

Ines McIntosh and Florent Melac are the newest premiere danseuse and premier danseur of the company.

Let me tell you, I don't know how I feel about the change and it was the last thing I would expect to happen. But it is a trial year, so who knows if it's gonna become the new standard for POB.

However, congrats to Ines and Florent.

Can't quite believe Ines is PD before Bianca and/or Bleuenn (thanks to @austerlitzborodinoleipzig who rightfully corrected my forgetfulness, since Bleuenn has won her premiere danseuse spot last season!)

. Am also not sure she is ready. She is immensely talented. Everyone knew since her school years. But whenever I see her on stage, I still see a student. Talented, sure. Ridiculously so. But still a student.

However there are many principal roles coming to her this season, so we'll see how quickly she grows. And I would definitely be here, watching her excitedly.

Don't know a thing about Florent, so... yeah.

{𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀?} Soirée Balanchine à Garnier: "Ballet impérial" suivi de "Who cares?". Du néo-classique des années 40, puis du music-hall des années 70, le grand art de Balanchine. J'avoue, j'ai trouvé "Ballet impérial" très joli, mais un peu chiant. Un peu comme la cour impériale autrichienne sous Francois-Joseph (𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪). C'est la Russie l'inspiration, mais je préfère les Autrichiens. Malgré tout, Audric Bézard et Heloise Bourdon en empereur et impératrice étaient parfaits, et Bianca Scudamore pétillante et élégante, comme toujours. Dans l'exercice de l'hommage à Petipa, je préfère l'approche de Noureev. Le clou de la soirée c'était "Who cares?", merveille de ballet, comédie musicale et revue de music hall mise en musique par Gershwin. Sublime, sublime, sublime. J'espère que ce n'est pas qu'un masque et que les danseuses et danseurs prennent vraiment le plaisir qu'ils affichent en dansant. Les sourires sont gigantesques, les visages rayonnent, c'est beau! Sur scène c'est un festival des chouchous: l'élégant Florent Melac et ses gestes dont j'adore l'amplitude gracieuse ; Hannah O'Neill coquine, joyeuse et sublime en rouge ; Laura Hecquet qui est comme les chats: liquide, fluide, elle n'a pas le même nombre d'articulations que nous pauvres humains, quel bonheur de la voir évoluer dans ce ballet; Mathieu Ganio, charmant et séduisant en diable (𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘴 3 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘯 𝘮ê𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘴 𝘤𝘦 𝘯'𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘷𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘴 𝘴é𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘶𝘹!), totalement irrésistible dans son duo avec Ludmila Pagliero, toute en élégance gracieuse et enlevée. Un bonheur de voir cette magnifique troupe dans un ballet si joyeux. __________ For the fifth episode of Gagosian Premieres, we celebrate Anselm Kiefer: Field of the Cloth of Gold—a new exhibition at Gagosian, Le Bourget—with a conversation between the artist and art historian James Cuno and a debut ballet performance by Hugo Marchand and Hannah O’Neill, choreographed by Florent Melac and set to music composed by Steve Reich. In this exhibition, across fields of golden corn and ominous skies, the artist conjures the palpable sense of treading through landscape. Completed over the past two years, the monumental paintings—whose scale reflects the actual landscapes they depict—evoke the stories of history. In this episode of Gagosian Premieres, James Cuno, president and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust, speaks to the artist in an exclusive interview about the inextricable relationship between history and place that animates the works on view. Hugo Marchand and Hannah O’Neill—principal dancer and first soloist, respectively, at the Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris—perform original choreography by Florent Melac in the gallery. Set to Steve Reich’s “Duet,” a contemplative composition scored for two solo violins and a string ensemble, the dance was created in direct response to Kiefer’s exhibition of monumental paintings in the vast Jean Nouvel–designed former airplane hangar. I don't know why but i am so attached to Buffy the Beagle. Can she please star in season 3 as well? And Alex can adopt her! I've started watching it again and GOD the chemistry between most of the actors on this show is pretty good! Also Malex are just as good as Melac

Nonnie, I’m still SO sad that they didn’t make her Alex’s dog. 😢

I loved her judge-y little face in this behind the scenes pic so much (and Tyler looks SO good holding her, they would’ve been a great team).

First they made Alex live in a house (which is great for him, don’t get me wrong) and took the cabin from us, and then they gave Buffy to someone else. 

THE BETRAYAL! 😒

I’m not holding my breath for her to show up in S3 tbh. Tyler mentioned that the dog who played her is quite old already, and with Covid restrictions complicating things, I’m not sure they’d invite an old dog and its handler to come to the set. Especially when they’d first have to write a storyline where Alex adopts her from Forrest. 

I hope that Alex will get his “own” dog one day  (together with Michael!!!), and that this one’s gonna be a series regular. 

You are so right about the chemistry between the actors! The show’s had some serious flaws (esp. in S2), but we got SO lucky with our amazing cast! 

And I agree, once Malex are allowed to be together, they’re going to be the kind of queer power couple Malec were on Shadowhunters! 🙌
