I think once everything calms down, and everyone is better than before, Michael should find a place that can comfortably hold kids who need guidance and love. Who need a parent of any kind, who need somewhere safe to go when there's nothing else for them. So they somehow end up on the doorstep of a man with scraggly hair and beard, not because he's still depressed and in his own hole, but because he's better, happier, and the look works on him. This man has a kind smile and a warm home for kids who need it, maybe a baby is found on his doorstep and he sings his lullaby and protects them with everything he has, just like he does with the other kids.

Sometimes the other posties show up, bringing gifts and stories for the kids. Sometimes a carnival drops nearby and Michael gets the most fond look on his face, but his face is the happiest when a witch and her wife show up with spells and better stories.

He makes a home in a tower that is warm and comforting, strange and wonderful, the opposite of what he knew in the tower he was stuck in for all those years before anyone else showed up.

The Secret Series is honestly so much better than I expected. I thought there was no way that it would be as good as Lost Hollow or the New Albion Tetralogy but they're actually really really good and really useful because they explain so much about what was going in in the New Albion Radio Hour and the New Albion Guide to Analogue Consciousness. Not to mention they're excellent. I might even prefer Nash Harding to Analogue Consciousness
