Bill Cosby Is Back, Baby! - Paul Marz Theron 8/10/14

Bill Cosby’s back baby! He never left, of course but now, in addition to touring, he has a new comedy special coming out and a sitcom in the works!

His standup comedy tour will be coming through my neck of the woods here in Texas next month. He might be performing a hybrid version of his comedy special: Far From Finished, but who knows. He seems to have an endless wealth of material. I saw him perform the last time he came through Austin. I got to see two shows; back to back, 4 hours total and he never did the same bit twice during the two performances! Excellent performance from a master storyteller! 

Far From Finished is the title of his first standup comedy special in 30 years! It will be aired on Comedy Central November 24. It was recorded from Cosby's recent performancesat the Cerritos Performing Arts Center in California with Robert Townsend directing.

 And! Cosby has negotiated a new sitcom! It will be a classic multi-generational big extended family sitcom. The Cos will star as Jonathan Franklin; the patriarch of the family. He will be dispensing his classic wisdom on relationships and parenthood, with his three daughters and their husbands and children. It will be a multi-camera shoot, probably live before a studio audience. Mike O’Malley may possibly costar as well as writing and producing with Mike Sikowitz. Plans are for it to begin airing summer or fall next year.
