Short self projection of myself onto tti Bonnie bc why not.
Word count: 813. Sorry, it's short 🤥
Bonnie stands alone at the docks, Chris having left them alone after he did the outro. Their eyes stare out into the water, the boat that holds Caesar long gone. They look down at their hands, still feeling the warmth that Caesar brought to them, and shoves them into the pocket of their sweater.
Slowly, Bonnie turns away from the water, walking away from the docks. They make their way back up to the elimination camp fire, where Mclovin still sits alone, the fire dying out. Bonnie stares at him, a mix of complicated feelings filling their entire body as they watch him.
"Why did it have to be Caesar?" They find themselves saying to the paralyzed boy. Mclovin doesn't respond, not even a noise coming out from him. Bonnie doesn't care, only taking it a step further, "Was this because of Sha-Mod? Is this your way of avenging him? And now you leave me here, alone, because you can't help but have the two other people on our team fight over you?"
Mclovin doesn't say a word, and Bonnie sighs. They look towards the ground, kicking a rock by their feet, "I don't blame you. It makes sense, strategy wise. If we lose the next challenge, I wouldn't blame you if you guys vote for me. But I want you to think about something first.
"I want you to think about the people you want in your life. I was happy with Caesar here. Sometimes it felt like it was Caesar and I against the island. I like you, Mclovin. You seem like a nice guy, and we even have things in common. But what you did tonight, I don't think I would be able to trust you, Ass, or Courtney ever again."
Bonnie looks back up at Mclovin, and they notice a tear coming out of one of his eyes. Bonnie frowns, "You gotta think about the people that you want. I don't plan on losing again. But if we do, I'm telling you now, I'm voting for Ass."
Mclovin makes a noise, and Bonnie watches as the boy tries to move. He shifts a little, his head turning towards Bonnie. Tears come out of his eyes, and he groans, "I… not vote…"
Bonnie raises their eyebrows, and they watch as Mclovin struggles to speak, "Ass… not me…"
Bonnie thinks, putting two and two together. Mclovin couldn't vote for himself, which led to him having someone vote for him. Bonnie's eyes widened, "Are you saying that Ass voted for you?" Mclovin nods slowly, "Me… vote Ass… not Caesar."
Bonnie stares at Mclovin, his words ringing in their mind. They look away from him, their eyes going back to the dying fire, now just embers. They shove their hands back into their pockets. Their mind wanders back to Caesar, him standing on the boat of losers, the two of them holding hands. To the last challenge, where they cooked together. The awakeathon a few weeks back, when they clicked for the first time.
I'll always be with you in spirit.
Bonnie turns back towards Mclovin, "I still won't be able to trust you, Mclovin. But I want you to figure out your situation with Ass and Courtney without involving me in it. I need to win this thing. Not for me. For Caesar."
They walk away, leaving Mclovin alone, even though they probably shouldn't. They walk back to the cabin, but before they enter the girl-adjacent side of the cabin, they hear the voices of Ass and Courtney. They yell at each other, something about Mclovin out of all things, and Bonnie debates on entering.
"Oh you are so eliminated next time we lose!" Ass yells. Courtney fires back, "Oh yeah? We're just lucky that you were able to get Mclovin's vote tonight! You'll be the one who goes next!"
Bonnie sighs, walking away from the cabin, entering the woods. They walk a familiar path, even in the dark. Soon enough, they find themselves in a flower patch, a small pond waiting for them just a little ahead, a waterfall even further down the field. Bonnie walks, then takes a seat in the middle of the field. The sound of the waterfall drowns out their thoughts, and Bonnie lays back on the field, looking up at the dark sky.
There, tears start to fall. Bonnie cries, letting all their emotion out. Their hands go up to their eyes, trying to wipe away the tears with their hoodie, but the tears keep falling, and Bonnie can feel their hands getting cold. They miss the warmth of Cesar's hand in theirs. They miss the way Caesar would be by their side. They miss how Caesar would call them by nicknames. They miss how Caesar was always there with them. They miss Caesar.
The tears never stop, and Bonnie falls asleep in the flower field.
