I've really been into styling sessions a bit differently, lately; instead of the very typical looks of lace and heels and strings of pearls (well, I don't really use pearls, but you get me!) I'm adding some unexpected elements into outfits - balancing textures and lines and colours and tones. I've been spending a little more time pre-session with my clients, in the effort to put a really fabulous look together, and we (my clients and myself) are seeing the results. I want to use every tool available to tell a story. One small change visually can completely alter the message because we all have a fluency in visual literacy. This week I'll be posting some more unexpected looks, including runners (OMG!) and I'm just really pumped to keep exploring and experimenting with this! Maaaaaybe I'll do a new setup in a corner of my studio? I just got caught up in a whirlwind and have been gone for a couple of weeks, what else is new?! I had the BEST time, btw. Actually a crazy time, because while it was one of the best times of my life because of all the amazing people that surrounded me (and were so generous with their love - thank you!) I had a bunch of challenges, including my car engine failing (totally random on this kind of vehicle!) and it needing to be completely replaced (the day after my birthday party, oi!). So, it was amazing, because of all my pals, but it was challenging, and my challenge was to be present to all the love and people that were there for me, instead of putting all my attention on what was stressing me out. And I think I did alright! I managed to really focus on the positive.
