Doug Emhoff Set To Appear On Jimmy Kimmel Live
Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will make his first appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, September 5, Kimmel announced Wednesday night on his show. Emhoff will join Brian Tyree Henry and musical guest Muni Long on the ABC late-night show. Emhoff also will be in Los Angeles on Thursday for a fundraiser with hosts Patricia Gordon and Dan McLoon, Jason Haider, and Kirsten Hilleman and Greg Slamowitz, per an invite. Emhoff has been on the campaign trail with his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, since President Joe Biden stepped aside and Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee. He recently spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, on a night with the theme of bringing “bold vision” to America’s future and a new generation of Democratic leadership. During his speech he talked about he and Harris’ blended family and told the story of how he and Harris met and how she is a beloved stepmother to his son and daughter. “She’s always been there for our children, and I know she’ll always be there for yours too. Kamala is a joyful warrior,” he said. “Here’s the thing about joyful warriors: They’re still warriors. And Kamala is as tough as it comes.” Harris was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live in June,. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is currently in its 22nd season. Broadcasting from the El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard, it is exec produced by Kimmel, Erin Irwin, Molly McNearney, Jennifer Sharron and David Craig. It is produced by 12:05 AM Productions in association with Kimmelot and ABC Signature. Source link via The Novum Times

Oscars producers promise cameos and surprises for Sunday’s show
Tumblr media
LOS ANGELES
With just day to go until the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, the show’s producers are feeling good about what they’ve put together.
The nominees are some of the best the Oscars have seen, including some true blockbusters like “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie.” Ryan Gosling is singing “I’m Just Ken” during the show. There will be a live orchestra in the theater. And the ever-reliable Jimmy Kimmel is back to host the proceedings for the fourth time.
“We’re really excited about this year,” said Molly McNearney, who is executive producing the show for the fourth time. “It’s a phenomenal year of movies. And we have great movies that the home audience is familiar with, which makes our jobs easier.”
Tumblr media
The producers were hired earlier than usual, meaning they’ve had more time to plan and study past Oscars broadcasts to try to home in on what works and what doesn’t. One thing they’ve learned is that if the room is laughing, the audience at home is usually laughing too.
McNearney, who is married to Kimmel, said that they’re focusing on jokes over big, highly produced comedy bits. Kimmel will do his 10-minute monologue to kick off the show and will be sprinkled throughout.
“I think an evening that just makes people feel good is a win,” McNearney said. “Our job as producers is to keep that feeling good moving quickly because it is a long show and we want to make sure people are staying throughout.”
Tumblr media
Another thing that works: When the speeches are good and people feel invested in the winners. Last year there were a lot of great comeback and underdog stories, from Brendan Fraser to Ke Huy Quan, which helped. This is not something the producers have any control over, but they are optimistic about the nominees and setting up scenarios with presenters who have a genuine connection either with each other or people in the audience.
“We want everybody to feel included, that they are part of our story,” said executive producer and showrunner Raj Kapoor. “I hope that we have put another kind of modern take on it that really focuses on storytelling and connection and that the audience in the theater and at home will just feel immersed in the experience all throughout the evening.”
Kapoor noted that the live performances of the Oscar-nominated original songs should be a real highlight of the show too, from the Osage singers to Gosling. They’ve also re-designed the stage so that an orchestra of 42 musicians can be in the Dolby Theatre and seen on camera. And Kapoor teased that the In Memoriam sequence is something they’ve put a lot of time and thought into and that it is poised to tug at audience heartstrings.
Tumblr media
“There’s going to be entertainment and lots of surprises and a few cameos and things that haven’t been announced yet. We’re just really excited for everybody to come watch with us,” Katy Mullan said. “The Oscars is one of those last giant tentpole pop culture moments that everybody looks forward to and gathers around that TV set. It’s co-viewing at its best. And we’re in this moment where there’s more interest around these big live moments than there has been in years.”
Tumblr media
Their main concern at the moment is that the global audience remembers that the broadcast begins an hour earlier than normal, at 7 p.m. EDT. It’s also the first day of daylight saving time.
Tumblr media
“I think people are going to bed earlier and people are very excited, hopefully, that it’s starting at 7,” Mullan said. “It won’t be so late for everyone hanging on for the best picture announcement.”
The 96th Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10 with the pre-show beginning at 6:30 p.m.

What Was I Made For?”
Finalmente, Scott George e os Osage Singers apresentarão a canção tribal em língua Osage “Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People)” de Killers of the Flower Moon da Apple. A composição de George é a 12ª canção em língua não inglesa nomeada aos Óscares (no ano passado, “Naatu Naatu” da RRR levou para casa o prémio).
Os Óscares serão transmitidos Domingo, dia 10 de Março de 2024.

Jimmy Kimmel to Host 95th Oscars: 'Everyone Good Said No'
Denver Sean
Tumblr media
Jimmy Kimmel is returning to the Oscars stage.
After hosting in 2017 and 2018, he’s been tapped to host the 95th Oscars on March 12, 2023.
via People:
Executive producer and co-head writer of Jimmy Kimmel Live! wife Molly McNearney, will executive produce the awards show, along with showrunners Glenn Weiss and Richy Kirshner.
“Being invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honor or a trap,” Kimmel said in a news release Monday. “Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no.”
Weiss and Kirshner say they are excited to have Kimmel back. The broadcast will air from Dolby Theatre at Ovation in Hollywood.
“We’re super thrilled to have Jimmy score his hat trick on this global stage,” they said. “We know he will be funny and ready for anything!”
The Emmy Award-winner previously hosted the awards for consecutive years before it went host-less from 2019 through 2021.
In 2022, a trio of female comedians — Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer — brought levity to the ceremony, which was later overshadowed by the Will Smith-Chris Rock slapping controversy.
Kimmel’s last foray as host in 2018 suffered a then-record ratings low for the show, with 26.5 million viewers, and the effort touched off a back-and-forth public feud on social media between the comedian and then-President Donald Trump.
Last Thursday, Kimmel spoke out about how Trump had also impacted his weeknight hosting duties on Jimmy Kimmel Live! revealing he threatened to quit the show at the height of the Donald Trump era when execs wanted him to lay off telling jokes about the then-president.When asked directly if ABC ever voiced concern about him mocking Trump on the Naked Lunch podcast, Kimmel shared that they had and elaborated on how he took a stand over the matter.
“There was one time, right around the beginning of this whole Trump thing… maybe not quite [eight years ago],” Kimmel said. “I said listen, I get it, you’re right. I have lost half of my fanbase, maybe more. Ten years ago, among Republicans I was the most popular talk show. At least according to the research they did.”
Despite this, Oscars producers believe Kimmel is an ideal fit for the star-studded evening.
“Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the incredible artists and films of our 95th Oscars. His love of movies, live TV expertise, and ability to connect with our global audiences will create an unforgettable experience for our millions of viewers worldwide,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang.
“With Kimmel, Weiss and Kirshner’s fresh perspective and masterful guidance, the Oscars will celebrate its rich 95-year history, the collaborative nature of moviemaking, and our diverse, dynamic and deeply creative community of filmmakers.”
The 95th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
