Under Control … A day in my life.
Under Control … A day in my life.
After a very long sabbatical from writing and 2 years to the month since my very first story, if memory serves me well, I’m happy to be able to contribute to the current SimLit challenge topic. The Simlit Short Story theme for June/July is to write a piece in First Person and in the form of a Diary entry. Challenge details can be found here:…

Farce behind Facade
My entry for April simlit short story challenge by Lisabee Sims. Please be kind- this was a rough process for me. The main sims are creations by my awesome big brother, Blue Shreve and the venue is from #smcircus collab by magnificent Sims Michele.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Come and see! Come and see!
The bearded lady is performing to thee!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She has a confident smile on her face.
She makes the crowd go wild with a funny phrase.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She sings like an angel, she gives a good show!
Tumblr media
In the end she blows kisses to every row..
Tumblr media
But when the show has ended and everyone is gone
the bearded lady sits alone.
Tumblr media
And if anyone ever goes to spy
they can see that is when the bearded lady cry.
Tumblr media
This poem is dedicated to all people suffering from hormonal diseases. I have condition called PCOS. That makes me a bearded lady. It also has caused my body to become more masculine and me gain weight easier than others. And of course physical and mental pain in many ways.
Not fitting in the female/male stereotype is hard. People tend to be mean to us. They don't get we would pay anything to be like others.
In the world where you can be anything, be kind!

Dinner with the Goths
Dinner with the Goths
Mortimer Goth had a shocking expression on his face when his wife, Bella, told him she was expecting their third child. “Really?” he asked in disbelief. “You’re expecting again?” “I am indeed!” Bella confirmed. “Oh, I’m thrilled, my love!” he cried and embraced his beautiful wife. “I can’t wait to tell the children!” At dinner, Bella struggled to finish her meal as she contemplated how she…

I got lucky
A poem dedicated to all wonderful people I have met playing The Sims. And also my entry to monthly simlit short story challenge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You didn't see me?
It's ok.
That's the role I usually play.
I am a stereotype,
I'm a ghost.
Invisible for the most.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If they see me
I've done wrong.
Despite trying to get along.
I should be perfect,
never fail.
Stay invisible and stay pale.
Tumblr media
Still, I have dreams
like everyone else.
Vivid and colorful nevertheless.
I hide them well
and I hide them deep.
In my dreamlands or in my sleep.
Tumblr media
But I got lucky.
Someone DID see!
And she wanted to talk to ME!
Not to the stereotype,
not to the ghost.
To the one, who is invisible for the most.
Tumblr media
Then, oh marvel,
there were others
curious to see my world of wonders.
First I was shy
and ashamed.
As usual, I wanted to be unnamed.
Tumblr media
Little by little
getting more brave
I showed them how I "misbehave".
They were not horrified!
They applauded
to the ideas I afford!
Tumblr media
From the bottom of my heart
I am thanking you.
The ones that made me be true.
I might be invisible,
I might be a ghost,
but no longer ashamed of my inmost.
The beautiful simselves featuring in this poem are made by Minraed, Brennachan, Peapod and BlueShreve

The birth of Tuittu the murkpunker
Some turning points come unexpectedly. This transformation nonetheless was not one of those. We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. We just didn't know how...
Tumblr media
I still remember the exact color of that murky pond I used to find myself adoring. That pond was the only truly dear thing for me in my hometown - Spoonriver. It comforted me many times with its soothing sounds.
Tumblr media
I never was a remarkable child. Quite the opposite. I found learning things very complicated. My parents tried to help me the best way they could. I was an embarrassment for them because they used to teach in the local school.
Tumblr media
I was never a popular kid. The other people didn't understand me. I was a fat daydreamer in a world where physically and mentally strong people were admired.
Tumblr media
Then the winter came to the Spoonriver. That was not a shock to anyone. The town was well prepared. The crop from the previous autumn was canned and all the people in Spoonriver had the strength to keep going on in the troublesome times.
So the residents of Spoonriver snuggled inside their houses and started settling down for the winter months. But the winter had not shown its true colors yet...
Tumblr media
The school served a hot meal to all of the pupils. My parents made it and served it. There was an agreement with other villagers they would bring a little something to school for all the kids to eat. Of course, my parents always added more to the table than the other families. That was their humble way to help.
Some of the kids were mean and came up with a "joke" I ate more than others. They asserted it was the reason I was so fat. That became an ongoing chant. The chant turned into kicking and spitting on me.
Tumblr media
I couldn't escape to my beloved pond, because it was frozen. So I put all my emotions into songs I composed.
The winter hit harder than it ever had before. The wind blasted icy blades to torture anyone brave enough to show their faces outside. And it was the longest winter the Spoonriver had ever seen. I grew up during the winter.
Tumblr media
Then the food ended. The winter had lasted so long, there was no stock left. The chant that earlier was just a bunch of school kids being mean, became a gossip- Tuittu was eating all the food!
Tumblr media
The villagers confronted my parents. And my mom decided to put me on a diet to show that I wasn't the one to blame for the food shortages. She made me go to the bed early...and baked a pie for the rest of the family.
That night I woke up hungry and it was the first time I ate from a trashcan.
Tumblr media
Then the spring finally arrived. And with spring arrived a bard called The Rat. He heard me playing and wanted me to play with him. He told me about the other villages that had survived the nightmarish winter. And he told me that if I was unhappy in the Spoonriver, I could follow him to the next village and continue on my own from there.
Tumblr media
To my parent's absolute horror I agreed with the plan. I packed up my violin and left. I didn't know it yet, but I was on my way to Murkland.

This is my entry to monthly simlit shortstory challenge. The story is not a typical, light sims story. It's rather heart breaking and weird. I wish you still like it.

Valley of Angels Part 3
Tumblr media
Veronica was starting to panic. Her due date was upon her and she still had no idea of what she was going to do when her baby was born. Perhaps she could leave the baby here, with Rosemary and Lily. Just until she got her life in order.
Not really giving Rosemary’s health a second thought, or the kindness that has been shown to her thus far, Roni started fantasising about how she would leave…

A Mother's Love
A Mother’s Love
Tumblr media
People often call me crazy. I’m that crazy lady who in a post-apocalyptic world, has a lush roof garden and talks to her plants every single day.
Tumblr media
I’m that annoying lady who constantly tries to convince others to vote for change. To go green, clean up the town and make it a better place for everyone.
Tumblr media
No one seems to care about that, though.
Tumblr media
Except my husband, Stuart. When we got married 22…

The Life of Veronica Grey: Part 3
The Life of Veronica Grey: Part 3
Tumblr media
I don’t know why I thought stealing and sailing a boat to an unknown location would ever be a good idea, especially since I didn’t know anything about sailing. Heck, I’ve never even been on a boat before.
I guess desperate times call for desperate measures and I thought this was my only chance to escape and create a better future for my young son.
I was a fool. As soon as I started to figure out…

Valley of Angels - Part 2
Valley of Angels – Part 2
Tumblr media
Moving to the valley had happened quickly. Once they saw the farmhouse and the land, they both knew the price was a bargain. They were beginning to settle in and it was time for Lily to put the second part of her plan into action.
While studying at Britechester, Lily had met and befriended a young girl named Veronica Grey. Even though they were not doing the same Degree, or in the same…

The Life of Veronica Grey: Part 2
Tumblr media
I realized that if I don’t want my parents to ever find me, I’d have to actually leave town and go somewhere they’d never think of looking. I always hated coastal towns – they were always reeking with raw fish and just generally disgusted me.
Tumblr media
So, I took the last Simoleons I stole from my parents to book a one-way ticket to Brindleton Bay. As I explored the town, which I hated by the way, I met…

Valley of Angels
Tumblr media
Life was peaceful in the valley, between two mountains. So peaceful in fact, that not even the wind blew there. This of course led to really hot days and cool nights. Almost like a hot house, so it was perfect for Lily who was a green-thumbed gardener extraordinaire.
Outside her little house, Lily had rows upon rows of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees planted. It took her a full day to…

My name is Ashton and this is my family. It’s Thanksgiving and we’re all gathered at the dining table at my grandparents’ house.
Tumblr media
Grandma Betty is an excellent cook and the glue that keeps this family together. She prepared every meal on this table, just like she does at every other Thanksgiving, Christmas dinner and other family gatherings. She’s also a really good person, often preparing meals for the less fortunate and helping those in need..
Tumblr media
Grampa Joe passed away earlier this year due to health complications. He was a smoker, you see, and eventually lung cancer took the best of him. He was such a goofball and loved playing with his grandkids. I miss him every day, but I still feel his presence during times like these.
Tumblr media
Aunt Ashley is considered by some to be the black sheep of the family. She was always rebellious and became pregnant at the age of 13. Her then boyfriend left her to raise their child all on her own. She suffered from depression and also became an alcoholic. She almost lost everything, but with the help of therapy and support from family, she rose above it all and has been sober and depression-free for a few months now.
Tumblr media
Her daughter, my cousin Grace, has been staying with Grandma and Grampa for most of her life.
Tumblr media
Uncle Sam knew he was romantically interested in guys ever since he was a young boy. When he came out, Grampa was a little disappointed at first, but eventually learned to accept that part of him. Grandma says she always knew and didn’t mind at all – as long as he was happy, she was too. He’s now happily married to a guy named Dave and they have two young children who were conceived through a surrogate mother, twin siblings Lenny and Jenny. They are such wonderful parents and just really kind people in general.
Mom and Dad have been together since high school. Mom was the cheerleader and Dad was the football captain. Such a cliché, I know. They got married after graduating college and tried to have a baby soon after. They were both really attractive and everyone always said they’d have beautiful babies. Unfortunately, Mom was told that she would never be able to have a child of her own.
Tumblr media
That’s when they looked into adopting and found me at the orphanage, when I was barely a month old. Mom says she immediately felt a connection with me and knew I was hers the moment she laid her eyes on me.
I never felt like I didn’t belong in the family. Yes, I look different from everyone else, but family is so much more than just your blood relatives and I’m reminded of that every day. I’m eternally thankful to have been taken in by such a loving and accepting group of people and can’t put into words what they all mean to me.
Tumblr media
Soon I’ll be heading off to college to start a new chapter in my life, but home is where the heart is and mine will always be here.
Author’s Notes:  Happy belated Thanksgiving to the folks in America! I have decided to participate in the Monthly SimLit Short Story Challenge this month, organized by LisaBee, EA Game Changer for The Sims 4 and fellow SimLit writer. The theme for this month is “Family” and it was required that the story should be written in first person (though my entries always are)
I kindly invite you to please read all the stories entered for this challenge at the end of the month and vote for your top three choices in both categories (Novice and Veteran), meaning you will have a total of six votes. Any vote that doesn’t contain three votes in each category will be thrown out, so please vote for three Novice stories and three Veteran stories!
