Music Sync Business Lesson 03
Important take aways:
What music gets placed the most?
⁍ Relevant & Modern tracks will see the most placements.
⁍ In any genre, high energy and upbeat tracks perform better than slow & ballad.
⁍ Vocal tracks pay more but instrumental tracks are used more often.
⁍ YOUR MUISC NEEDS TO CONVEY LOTS OF EMOTIONS.🏆 (想赢就无条件这么做。)
How to give your music more emotion?
⁍ You are no longer a "beat maker," you are now an "audio director."
⁍ MUST INCLUDE: Dynamics, Suspense, Excitement, Production Development, EDIT OPTIONS.
MUSIC THAT SUPERVISORS LOVE:
⁍ Current, popular charting music.
⁍ Music without too many high frequencies.
⁍ Music that makes people feel good.
⁍ Music that grabs their attention within the first 5-10s.
⁍ Pulls out the exact emotion of the scene.

Music Syncing Business Lesson01
Important things I would like to print to my mind from watching videos from Jesse's Sync My Music Channel–https://www.youtube.com/@SyncMyMusic.
Lots of big music acts get their first exposure in front of the public through music syncing, a term for music played during movie, drama or ad commercials. such artistic figures include IMAGINE DRAGONS. And one comes to my mind is the so many music tracks which fit so well with the contexts of the drama KILLING EVE made by an American alternative trio Unloved. I remember the music supervisor from the drama said they were in shock when they discovered the music released three years ago can fit so well with the new drama.
It is a multi-billion dollar industry. There is a huge current need for licensable music in TV shows, music and movies & commercials.
Licensing from the 'A-List' artists are expensive, so you see the opportunity to create music that can catch the trends. This is an unusually remarkable opportunity to turn your music production skill into a full-time income career.
All you need to be is a musician who have all the gears and softwares you would need to work in your home studio. And the you production skills to create works that satisfy the industry needs and is in align with the industry standard.
I can learn from Jesse's mistakes from his over a decade experience of creating music.
Benefits: as you expand your catalogue volume, the chance your music gets heard and played only grows. i.e. you can get more placements in TV SHOWS LIKE KARDASHIANS, Ford, Nike. It is a significant passive income, because you get paid over and over again for the same works!!! You get paid of international royalties as well. ALL genres are licensable, means you can absolutely create the genre of music you want!
How you get paid? Upfront–aka "sync Fee," it is paid upfront in exchange to use your music. Backend–Performance Royalties paid to you every time your music is aired on TV or Radio (MAILBOX MONEY). The royalties are distributed through Performing Rights Organizations(ASCAP, BMI, SESAC)
That's a wrap of my take away from L01.
