I thought a little more about Hana and El. And wanted to thumbnail out this concept after talking about them a few times live.

Highlander skills absorb the energy of allies and El constantly does this with Hana via Spear Assist (etheric energy), Bloody offense, and later on Allied Bonds.

All of Hana’s energy in Maginia is spent trying to forget them. So. I feel like El would always see them after she absorbed from Hana. Not sure who they are at first, but gradually coming to understand, as well as gain interest enough to genuinely ask Hana questions and help her process her grief instead.
