You clutched your small purse to your stomach nervously. This was yours and Steves first date. You knew what was expected at the end of a date. You had seen your fair share of movies and heard all about it from your friends.

You both looked at each other trying to make small talk to ease the tension. This was the part where he gives you a good night kiss. Then you feel fireworks going off or get butterflies in your stomach.

The only thing was... you had never felt butterflies. You had never been in love or really kissed someone. The kisses you did have were small pecks or drunken mistakes while playing truth or dare.

You knew very well it was strange for someone as old as you to not only be a virgin but also not knowing how to kiss. But you never got the chance. You always felt love would find you instead of the other way around.

And find you it did. In the form of Steve Rogers. You had been in love with him ever since you met him. He made you feel things you had only ever read about. After months of dancing around each other he finally gathered the courage to ask you out.

Steve caged you in by leaning slightly on your door. You knew what was on his mind.

He also does anything he can for others, as can be seen in that date when he records a super sweet video for a sick fan of his because Kiro can’t visit them! Of course, he values fairness, which is why he super appreciates MC, who doesn’t give him any special treatment because of his fame. And of course, he treats everyone with respect! No doubt about that. =)

best quality: His sweetness! I love how adorable he is, lol. But now in all honesty, I would probably say how much he’s willing to do for MC? Lol what did you expect? I’m a Hufflepuff. xD

Though tbh I’ll probably say the same about Gavin, so something Kiro has that Gavin doesn’t- I think in a way his simplicity. Like he’s super busy, but always makes time for MC. He’s very down-to-earth in a kind way, and shares his feelings even when it can be scary. I mean he’s probably the most open about his feelings, at least in MLQC, but MC is too dense to reaize his very clear hints. Lol our favorite dumdum MC. xD

worst quality: Ughhh Kiro’s worst quality? Honestly, this is hard, but I would probably say that it’s how he never shares any of his plans with MC. Not that I doubt that he means the best, but dude- dialogue! Lol if he would actually tell MC what he’s planning it would probably save both of them lots of heartbreak. Even vague hints are better than nothing!

I mean I would totally marry Gavin if not Kiro. I love his loyalty. But irl I would probably not marry him, because he would be too standoffish.

Definitely attractive, but tbh I would probably like the looks of someone like Victor more. xD (Not that I care that much, if at all!)

hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff

Gavin is a definite mix of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, but when it comes down to it I would probably say he’s more of a Gryffindor than a Hufflepuff. After all, he teaches MC how to fight for herself so she could be stronger. He’s a cop that works in the field, instead of working behind the scenes. He does some things that can be considered stupid for the people he cares about. 

Now obviously, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have Hufflepuff qualities- he does lots of amazing things that show this side. For example, all the kindness he gave to others without MC knowing when they were teenagers, keeping his bad boy persona. And the way he does anything to defend others, and values others about himself. And he clearly became a cop to protect people, not to get glory.

But personally, I think that if Gavin would have to choose between bravery and physical prowess or equality and loyalty, he would choose the former- even if he appreciates the latter almost as much.

best quality: Lol like before, how much he’s willing to do for MC without her even knowing. He does everything behind the scenes, without making a big deal of it.

But what I would say truly makes him unique is how he’s super considerate of MC’s want or needs. He never forces himself on her *glares at Mr. Creep*. Even when he was forced to stay in MC’s house, he asked for MC’s permission. And he left the door open so she would know he was there. Ugh that part left me so softttt, it was truly poetic cinema.

worst quality: I said this before, but probably his physical force when he sees something as important. I mean when Gavin sees something as important, or gets jealous, he can resort way too quickly to violence. He’s the only MLQC boy who actually scared MC in his dates (from what I know), and that is seriously wrong. Not that I don’t love him, but if he doesn’t keep it under control it can truly end bad.

brotp them with: Minorrrrr! Lol the both of them would be hilarious together! (I totally see Minor bugging Gavin, Gavin hating it but at some point it grows on him and he grumpily accepts him as a romantic partner. Lol xD)

needs to stay away from: Lucien, probably. Cause he would kill him before Mr. Creep could even say “MC”. And Victor, too, because Gavin would also kill him before he could say “dummy”.

Now that I think about it, probably any guy who’s more than friends with MC. Or maybe any guy MC is friends with. xD

He is also a bit Ravenclaw, but only a bit tbh.

Nor would I recommend it, but tbh I would say that he isn’t SO bad. As long as he balances his insults, he’ll be great. I’ve been trying to figure out how to explain why I dropped off the face of the earth for a couple weeks now and am still having a hard time figuring out just how to say it.  Please bear with me, okay? The rest of this will go under a read more so if you’re not interested don’t click the link.

Some shit went down at work a couple months ago, and personal life kicked my ass as well, and it’s just have me in a weird head state for a while.  

We got this new assistant manager and I’ll admit I wasn’t her biggest fan, not because I wanted the spot but because something about her seemed. . . off.  My store manager hated her from day one and looked for every reason she could to write her up.  She did it for the stupidest shit that the rest of us had done a hundred times and that drove me nuts.  You see after a while I started liking this girl and found out we had tons of stuff in common but she really wasn’t good at her job so that was the start of the weird head state.

I was literally of two minds about this person.

As a co-worker and boss I couldn’t stand working with her.

But as a person and possible friend I loved talking with her.

We’d laugh, have fun talking about shit and she just had a great energy that just spoke to me on a personal level.

But when after a few months I was still freaking doing her job when by that point she should have been acting in her full capacity I couldn’t stand it.  I was still holding her hand when it came to the simplest things and people were still coming to me for things instead of her for management things.  She was even told that she had to take on more responsibility because it wasn’t fair that other members of the management team were still picking up the slack.

All this came to a head one Sunday morning when I went into work and saw the money for the change order left out on the desk instead of in the safe.  For people who’ve never worked retail leaving money out unsecured is a big fucking no no.  I hadn’t even realized that this person had closed the night before until after I  had contacted the store manager about the money being left out.  I thought I was doing the right thing because obviously the boss has to know when someone on the team messes up that bad so they can be coached on it so it doesn’t happen again. At least that’s how I saw it.

Well, the boss used that as an excuse to write the girl up for the third and final time.

She was fired.

I feel like it was my fault.  That if I had just kept my mouth shut she’d still be working there and. . . .well, because of the blame I’ve been putting on myself ye olde depression has gotten so much worse.  I haven’t started self harming again but the urge is getting stronger everyday.  Like I should feel some sort of pain for what I did.

Logically, I know that it wasn’t my fault.  Like this person kept making some pretty big mistakes with money which led to a few issues that were actually worth being written up for.

But in my messed up brain I think it’s my fault that a person with a child trying to get out of an abusive relationship lost their job.

I’ve felt like a piece of garbage  since July about this and it’s been affecting the way I act around people irl and on line.  I’ve been much more quiet and withdrawn that I usually am.  I’ve been feeling like I should be around people or even trying to interact with anyone here or on discord.

I honestly don’t know how long this will last, I’ve recently lost health coverage so going back into therapy isn’t in the cards atm.

I can barely afford to get my meds, make my car payments and just. . . .live right now so I know I can’t afford to pay out of pocket for my therapist.

I guess this all  boils down to asking you guys to be patient with me and not take it personally if I’m not responding to our stuff.

Or if you see me responding to only one or two things because I’ve maybe felt a little less shitty that day.

I do love you guys and love writing with you all but right now it’s just. . . . If I don’t want to be around myself I can’t see why anyone else would.

dog person! I would say no, all things said and done.Though is she somewhat flustered/embarassed around Valeria, at least internally, because she keeps noticing how hot/pretty Valeria is at inopportune times or just... too often.

Nope. She’s a professional spy, lies are part and parcel of her life, but for people she trusts or who she is truly friends with, she values honesty and truth highly. She’d rather someone she’s close to say ‘I don’t want to talk about it’ or something like that, no matter what the topic is, than lie to her.

I hadn’t really thought of that. Hm... I would say she doesn’t have an anagram or melody trick, but she does run things she needs to remember through her head repeatedly in drills. 

A) Why are you excited about this character?

Well, I’m really excited about writing a trans character, because she’s an OC I can project my hopes onto for what my end result of transition (social and physical) could be, at least in an abstract way. I also like morally grey-ish but well intentioned characters. Overall, Kyseen isn’t a ‘bad person’, and Kantrias is a reasonably good nation, but it’s still a nation with foibles and flaws, so she does questionable things for a questionable (ish) cause. I mean, yes, she goes after criminals and foreign enemies, but it’s not like Voluz doesn’t have legitimate grievances with Kantrias, or that Al-Maliya doesn’t do half the things it does to Kantrias because it’s trying to stave off Kantrian Political and Economic Hegemony. Plus, the kinds of internal criminals she goes up against (renegade witch covens, Tessoi rebels, etc) have semi-legit grievances against Kantrias, even if their methods (such as attacking civilian targets in the case of the more extreme examples of the latter) leave something to be desired.

So she’s an examination of morality, group loyalty and how one justifies questionable or even outright bad things one does for the advancement of national interest and the protection of the the Kantrian vision of how the world should be and how life should be lived, often at the expense of other such views with more or less equal legitimacy. (Kantrias’s biggest flaws include some serious cultural imperialism/arrogance. Their way is the Right Way, and the rest of the world will learn that sooner or later. Though, to be fair, it isn’t as if Voluz is free of that either, among others.)

H) What trait do you admire most?

Her improvising. She’s good at throwing together pretty good plans on a fly, which is why most of the missions she’s sent on are situations that are too time sensitive to make more complex plans. The downside is she’s impatient and prone to getting herself into messes along the way, but I admire her Xanatos Speed Chess skills, because I am not good at important things going off-plan, IRL, even when they’re good developments.

J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?

Not really. The skeleton of the pre-existing canon was lifted from what my friends and I made, but it wasn’t hard to fit Kyseen in. Probably the hardest part in fitting her into Kantrias was the backstory in how someone who, on earth, would look of Middle Eastern extract would end up in Kantrias and working for the Ministry of Security, which is more predominantly white/Mediterranean European ethnic groups (whereas the peoples of the Glass Desert, of multiple ethnic groups, look more Middle Eastern). I conceived of Kyseen in both look and name of being Glass Desert-Kantrian, as it were, but it took some thinking before I decided how that worked out (Kantrias doesn’t have the best relation with the nearest Glass Desert city-state, Al-Maliya, nor with most of the tribes along the border, though some are friendly.) In the end, I decided that her parents and paternal grandparents had been Al-Maliyan citizens in the pay of Kantrias’s Ministry of Security for quite a long time, and in exchange for her mother giving up a piece of information that, once it was acted on, was pretty much guaranteed to lead back to her, the Ministry brought Kyseen’s parents (pregnant with Kyseen) to Kantrias and set them up with a comfortable middle-class lifestyle in the wealthiest city in the world. Her parents do not like that Kyseen has followed in and exceeded in their footsteps (and they still don’t know she’s actually killed people)

 1. If someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to? 

I would say my youtube liked videos, playlists, and watch later list. A lot of my favorite songs and videos are on there, and I’m on youtube a lot haha

2. Have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? If so, who?  

I don’t really think so? But I really love Kathryn Lasky, C.S Lewis, and Tolkien

3. List your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with. 

Oh boy. Well, I guess my biggest fandom right now is Gravity Falls (I know I’m a little late, but it’s so good!) and I would probably identify with either Dipper or Ford the most. They’re both bookworms and like solving mysteries.

Another would be Steven Universe. And here I don’t really know who to relate to. Maybe Lapis bc she’s pessimistic and doesn’t like new people all that much.

 4. Do you like your name? Is there another name you think would fit you better? 

I’m okay with my name, although I never see it on those souvenir keychains or pens haha. I do go by Sam sometimes, because it’s similar to my name, but more gender-neutral. 

5. Do you think of yourself as a human being or a human doing? Do you identify yourself by the things you do? 

Haha I’ve never really thought of this. But I guess I’d be a human being because at the moment I’m just trying to make it through. I do identify by the things that I do and love, like band, or writing.

6. Are you religious/spiritual? Do you care about your ethnicity? 

I am a Methodist, so yea, I’m religious. Although my beliefs differ from church conservatives, for obvious reasons. And no, I don’t care about my ethnicity. But I am a quarter Czech, so that’s neat

7. What musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime? Are you an artist? 

I’m really connected to Fall Out Boy. Their music has saved my life, comforted me, given me courage and hope. Music inspires me, and I get stressed when I don’t listen to it. I play the trumpet, trombone, and euphonium, and I want to learn guitar.

8. Do you have a creed? 

I don’t really know. I have a moral code that I don’t stray from.

9. Describe your ideal day. 

Being out in the woods with some friends, reading a book, perfect weather, watching the stars that night. 

10. Dog person or cat person? 

Cats!!! I like dogs, but cats are just soo cute. Like seriously. So cute

11. Indoors or outdoors?  

Outdoors! There’s nothing more incredible than the beauty and power of nature.

12. Five most influential books over your lifetime. 

Harry Potter, Guardians of Ga’Hoole, What Every Body Is Saying (it’s a book on body language. It changed the way I watch people, and really intrigued me. It also helped me identify different behaviors in people), The Murder Room, and The Virals series.

13. If you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you’d have turned out the same? 

No. I think my environment, and therefore my experiences, have really shaped me as a person. I don’t know who I’d be if I hadn’t been raised like I was.

14. Would you say your tumblr is a fair representation of the “real you”? 

Actually, yea. I’m a lot more open on the internet than irl. Here, I can truly express myself and find people that share my interests. That doesn’t happen much irl.

15. What’s your patronus? Which Harry Potter house would you be in?  

My patrons is a pine martin, and I’m a proud Hufflepuff!

16. Would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else? 

I’d go to Narnia. I mean, that’d just be so amazing! Aslan, talking animals, sign me up.

17. Do you love easily? 

No. I’m very pessimistic. I don’t trust people easily, but when I do, I love my friends with my whole heart. I love a lot, but it doesn’t come easily or quickly.

Yes. I do love my family, however hard it is, and I couldn’t live without them.

Like thinking the same thought? Yea, I do that a lot with my closest friends.

Yea, I’m okay with being alone. But being with like one or two others that I really like would be great as well. I’m totally down for living in the forest tho

I’m asexual and agender

Kinda? I never really dress up, so I always wear a graphic tee and jeans. So I guess my clothes show my lack of motivation haha. I do wish I had enough self confidence to dress and appear like I want to, but that’s daunting and also a lot of effort I don’t have time for

like a 3. I’m bothered by a lot of things, but I can recognize when I’m being irrational
