Dunking Pt. 1
These are just the starters.
PG - Edward
Edward prefers to lay up the ball on fast breaks but has swapped the layup for dunking occasionally. He dunks with one hand, just like with a layup.
SG - James
NO. NOPE. James hates dunking surprisingly. To him, it's "too much" contact and he doesn't want to injure himself off a bad fall.
SF - Duck
Duck is fine with dunking, despite his small size. He thinks it's cool and has competed in the Dunk Contest a few times. Duck also dunks with one hand, like Edward.
PF - Henry
Yeah, he dunks. Henry works in the paint and is basically used to dunking. He can dunk the ball with one or two hands, depending on the situation.
C - Gordon
Gordon loves dunking. Really loves it. He's competed in multiple dunk contests. He also loves intimidating his opponents after a nasty dunk. He always dunks with two hands, to truly humiliate his opponent.

James
SG = James
At shooting guard, a modified L&YR Class 28, designed by George Hughes, we have the North Western Railway's Number 5, James.
Honestly, this was an easy pick. James thinks very highly of himself and is a perfect fit for this role. James is solid on the offensive end since he has mastered the three-point shot perfectly. He is a strong catch-and-shoot player. Although, James has some weaknesses. Despite his size, he is not a great defender, due to his fear of messing himself up due to contact. Likewise, this also applies to the offensive end of the court, as James rarely drives or takes mid-range shots. Also, he tends to be a ball-hog, so his teammates have to be careful when setting James up for plays. James thinks too highly of himself and rarely acknowledges these weaknesses. But he has been known to drive to the basket in late-quarter matchups occasionally.
James is actually quite popular with the media, because of his antics and fashion sense. James is very active with the media and has been known to argue online about his play style. James has signed on to a rather popular fashion label, and the majority of his posts online are just him wearing nice clothes. Fans have tried to emulate his fashion sense. James also makes a commitment to interact with his fans after every game and can be seen signing many things. He rarely sits out games, just to give everyone a show.

Edward
So now I'm going to give my explanations for the characters and some lore as to how their game evolved. I'll do the starters first.
PG = Edward
At Point Guard, a FR 21/K2 class, designed by Sharp, Stewart, and Company, and built by Atlas Works, we have the North Western Railway's Number 2, Edward.
Honestly, this was a no-brainer. I know we have many ball-dominant point guards in the NBA, but you can never go wrong with one that can run the offense and set up plays for the open man. Edward is that guy. He also provides that much-needed veteran presence to the team. Stats-wise, Edward is underestimated by the media because he does not put up monster stats compared to someone like Gordon. But unlike Gordon, Edward does a little bit of everything. He entered the league with a solid mid-range shot and gradually upgraded to mastering the three-point shot. He was always an amazing passer and rebounder. He is also very quick as a defender, getting in at least a steal a game.
Although Edward is very methodical in the way he runs the offense and plays defense, the media calls him a boring player and he tends to fly under the radar. Compared to the flash of today's game, he is seen as a relic but doesn't care. He also tends to rarely interact with the media.

NBA x TTTE AU
I got a random, wacky idea for a TTTE AU!
So I used to follow NBA basketball a ton pre-2020 but fell out of the loop due to personal reasons. I'm back into the fandom now, so I got the idea to make lineups if the Steam Team was in the NBA. I have 2k20 on my Nintendo Switch so I might sim some games! Here is my lineup idea for the 8 Famous Engines.
Starters:
PG = Edward
SG = James
SF = Duck
PF = Henry
C = Gordon
Bench:
6th Man: Toby (PG)
Percy (SF)
Thomas (SG)
Donald (PF)
Douglas (C)
(I know Donald and Douglas aren't technically part of the main 8, but in basketball, you need 10 minimum for a full roster)
Adjustments I would do if I coached them:
Henry and Gordon can swap positions if necessary
Same with Donald and Douglas they're literally twins
Thomas can start at SF if necessary (He's a combo guard)
I'll add more lore soon!
