The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), with the task of conducting the Joint CSIR-UGC NET 2022 Examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Educational qualification for the exam

The CSIR NET exam is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the science and technology stream. The main subjects included are chemical sciences, earth sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences and physical sciences.

To appear for this exam, you must have completed your master's degree or be in the final year of your M.Sc course. Additionally, you must have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates).

Candidates who are pursuing their Ph.D. degree are also eligible to apply.

Age limit of NET CSIR exam

Maximum age limit prescribed for the award of Joint Research Fellowship (JRF) is 28 years as of January 1, 2022.

Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) and female applicants) and 3 years for OBC – Non-creamy layer candidates.

There is no stipulated age limit for the Lectureship.

UGC NET December Result 2018

NTA will release the UGC NET December result 2018 on their official website on 10th January 2019. The students who will appear for the NTA UGC NET 2018 Dec exam from 9th to 23rd Dec 2018 need to stay ready with their login credentials- application number, password/DOB in order to access their scorecard. The results/scorecards will have-the qualifying cut-off, overall and sectional marks along with the rank scored category wise. The aspirants can download the results easily in 3 simple steps-

At NTA’s official website, an official link will be provided as “NET 2018 Dec exam results”, open it. The link will open in a new window with a login setup; there fill in all the details-application number/roll number, password/DOB and submit. After submitting the details, an account will open up.

Step 2 -Checking the Details on Result

After logging in, open the result and check the following details on it:

Name of the candidate

Roll number/enrollment number

Subjects/sections name

Status for JRF(Junior Research Fellowship) and Assistant Professor

UGC NET Dec Merit List 2018

The NET 2018 cut off list is prepared based on the following:

The merit list will be prepared for those students who will score the mentioned qualifying cut-off marks. There will be two lists- first based on subjects and second based on category.

15% candidates from the merit list will be given the post of Assistant Professor under reputed university/college.

A separate merit list will be prepared for the students eligible for the JRF (Junior Research Fellowship).

UGC NET Dec 2018 Counseling Process

UGC-University Grant Commission after the result declaration of NET Dec 2018 exam will call the students for further counselling.

UGC NET Dec 2018 Document Verification Process

The selected candidates will be invited for the counselling process, the aspirants need to check their counselling date and schedule on the official website. An application fee is required to pay for the counselling round. In the counselling session, aspirants need to submit their application form along with all the original educational certificates/documents. The aspirant needs to carry the following documents/certificates for verification:

10th class mark-sheet (with 2 copies)

12th class marksheet (photocopy and original both)

NET 2018 Admit Card (original plus copy)

Rank/Score Card
