Hvad er dit y Arctic Monkeys sang?

Årh, vi er helt sikkert på et af deres første 2 album. Og der er simpelthen så meget fantastisk på de album.

Min første indskydelse der skriger op i mig er “Do me a favour” som nok altid vil den sang jeg oftest hører på repeat om morgenen. Elsker teksten, elsker trommerne og Alex’ stemme, som jeg synes er så utroligt sexet og bare rammer rent på det nummer.

Suppose you have a question about brackets []. Someone wants to know how many ways you can arrange them validly. Now, you can have brackets inside each other [[]], or adjacent [][], but you need to end up with the same number and you need left sides before right sides. There's only one valid configuration for 1 bracket, and 2 for 2, but once you're at 3 brackets there are 5 ways to arrange them. Once you're past 3 you probably don't want to try and enter all options by hand.

The task is to take in a number and return a list of all the possible legal permutations for that number of brackets.

For recursion you have what's called a Base Case. This is like the condition in a While loop, in that you use it to figure out when to stop charging forward. The reason you have to stop it actively is because a recursive function calls itself.

In this case we'll use the base case to handle our rules for the parentheses: There can't be more ] than [ at any time or it's illegal (because this means there will be an unmatched ]), and there can't be more [ than the number we've been handed. So:

if numR > numL or numL > numBrackets: return

That handles it.

Then you have a line where if you have exactly double the numBrackets by combining numL and numR, you append the string you've been building up with the function to the list you're going to return.
