·       Recon Expert (if “Good Ending” is achieved during personal mission) – Highlights enemies and allies when aiming down the sights. When using V.A.T.S with a sniper rifle, chances of hitting are significantly higher.
·       Best Served Cold (if “Bad Ending” is achieved during personal mission) – The last bullet in the magazine will have a random legendary effect. Kills also increase movement speed and damage for a few seconds (stackable effect).

PERSONAL MISSION: In A Tight Spot
After reaching a high enough affinity level with Marcus, he will open up to Sole about a problem he’s facing. A while back, his friend and spotter was kidnapped and he had no idea where to find him. Recently however, he’s found a lead and is determined that it will point him in the direction of Spotter, asking Sole to consider it when they have time.
When Sole decides to help him, they head to Diamond City and talk to Nick Valentine, who gives them a report about a group of raiders who were seen with someone fitting Spotter’s description. He gives them a general area, Marcus thanks Nick, and the two of them set off. Sole and Marcus head to what seems to be an abandoned warehouse but they encounter incredibly advanced defences (laser turrets, tripwires, tough robots etc.) They find a door leading down underground, below the warehouse, and they emerge into what looks like a pre-war underground facility, not dissimilar to a vault.
In the first room, they are confronted by a man in strange power armour and – depending on the speech option chosen – they either pacify, kill, or persuade the man into sharing info. Either way, once the man is dealt with, Marcus speaks to Sole, telling them that he recognises the man as an Enclave soldier and admits to having had run-ins with the elusive group over the years. He tells Sole that he and Spotter once stole some valuable information from an Enclave facility, back when they were mercenaries, and theorises that the Enclave may have taken Spotter as they believe he may still have the information.
Marcus and Sole make their way through the underground outpost, pushing past defences and Enclave personnel until they reach the command center at the heart of the complex, where they discover an A.I named ATHENA. Upon questioning, ATHENA reveals the reason why the Enclave is in the Commonwealth, confirming Marcus’ theory  that the Enclave are there to reclaim stolen information and also that the advanced research facility in which Spotter is being held.
Sole and Marcus then make their way to the research facility and fight their way through to the detention block, passing by various weapons and armour research sections (and obtaining a unique set of legendary armour and a unique legendary weapon). They finally reach the detention block to find a situation similar to the end of ‘The Silver Shroud’ quest, with Enclave soldiers facing them and an Enclave Commander with his gun to Spotter’s head. Sole then has three choices on how to proceed:
·       They can persuade the commander through successively more difficult speech checks that Spotter and Marcus sold the information years ago, ending the situation non-violently and keeping Spotter alive.
·       They can use V.A.T.S or Jet to slow time and quickly take out the commander and then the other soldiers, keeping Spotter alive.
·       They can enter combat and if they aren’t quick enough, Spotter will be killed.
In either of the scenarios that Spotter is kept alive, the good ending is achieved. Spotter heads to Goodneighbor to “recuperate” at the Third Rail and Marcus is overall much happier and relieved, having forged a true bond of friendship with Sole. At the conclusion of the quest, Sole receives the companion perk Recon Expert.
In the scenario where Spotter is killed, the bad ending is achieved. Marcus is visibly distraught at his friend’s death but thanks Sole for trying their best to save him as it was more than anybody else had done. He asks Sole for privacy and will remain in the facility with Spotter’s body until Sole leaves. After three in-game days, Marcus will find Sole and approach, telling them that they a true friend. He will be more emotionally distanced and more aggressive towards raiders and other evil enemies. At the conclusion of the quest, Sole receives the companion perk Best Served Cold.

fallout story time
ok i know that first impressions can be misleading but let me just say that no one warned me about the freakiest of all companions .....
... it was my first time meeting X6 during (spoiler) the institute 'Synth Retention' quest and i knew that 'meeting the courser' meant being introduced to a new companion. so i fast-travelled close to nahant wharf and of course immediately got under attack by raiders. headshot-ted all 5 of them using VATS, no problem. anyway, i turned around and saw our institute friend standing there, so i prepared myself for the usual 'nice to meet you bla bla' talk.
he barely got a full sentence out before interrupting himself mid-line with an undertone of aggression, something like 'I was getting bored', and ran away. i don't know if he felt like he had to prove himself to me or something, long story short: he had somehow spotted a vertibird in the distance and suddenly started chasing it like a tracking dog. next thing i knew he pulled another 5 enemies into combat. it was lasers flying everywhere, poor Deacon who was following me got caught in it too. i tried talking to everyone and stop the fight, all in vain. so i got rid of an assaultron before it could get me. explosion count: 1.
sentry bot and mr. gutsy were next in line. explosion count: 2.
then i heard more than saw the vertibird crashing into the sea. explosion count: 3.
while institute and BoS were battling each other on ground, a few nearby cars got set on fire too. explosion count: 5, 6, i dont even know. you get the idea. I'm not kidding.
X6 came out of the water, and everything around him was in flames. that's were i had to save and fucking hit exit.
so yeah now I'm scared to open the game again.
