Hello world and all those who inhabit it! Today I started a blog, or as I like to call it “open diary.” My name is Charlotte, and I was recently diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation aka......my brains are falling out!! In this malformation the brain stem, cerebellum, and tonsils protrude through the magnum foramen down into the neck. Oh my Chiari!! I was apparently born this way and diagnosed with migraines at seven. Throughout the past four decades I have suffered terribly with neurological symptoms that have been treated, but “I don't know” seems to be an industry standard answer as to why I have these diagnoses. Vocal cord paralysis, severe neuropathy all over my body, crippling headaches, I walk like I'm drunk (even when I'm not) which just isn't the same, my vision disappears by the day taking my hearing with it, dementia at 45, and many more. Even though I have all of these symptoms the doctors here in my part of West Virginia don't want to fix it. So if you are interested in walking with me while I engage in this fight for my life and the ability to pass a field sobriety test, crack open my diary and hopefully it'll make you laugh at me and yourself.
