Ask the Shipper.
Pick your top ten ships without reading the questions.
Enjoltaire
Méponine
Merthur
Morgwen
Harmony
Fremione
Leta Lestrange x Newt Scamander (idk the ship name)
Jily
Eleven x Max (idk the ship name again)
Johnlock
1: Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?
-When Draco called Hermione a mudblood and Fred and George tried to jump on him to defend her.
2: Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?
-Too many. Written a few as well.
3: Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr avatar?
-Yes, on my Instagram Merlin fan account Morgana and Gwen were the pfp for awhile.
5: Why is 1 so important?
-Grantaire loved Enjolras in the best way there is. Loving someone for their character instead of their looks or their ideals is exactly the way it should be. And the tragedy is pretty cool too, I’m all for the fluff but they died holding hANDSSS.
6: Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?
-Kind of a funny ship in that they seem to really enjoy each other’s company and there isn’t too much angsty shit.
7: Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?
Probably 3 or 7.
8: Out of all of the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?
3 and 5.
9: How many times have you read/watched 10’s fandom?
I’ve seen Sherlock twice and I’m in the middle of it again.
10: Which ship has lasted the longest?
Uhh a lot of them never even got together lmao but I guess Jily would still be together if not for the whole death thing.
11: How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?
Fred and hermione never got together lol so never ig.
12: If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?
Damn that’s a hard one. I mean Marius is a complete idiot, he’d probably try to reason with the zombies but I guess Éponine’s survived on the streets long enough to know some shit. On the other hand, James and Lily know magic and could blast zombies off their feet, although they didn’t manage to survive a wizarding war... I’d have to say Jily, mainly because they’ve got magic going for them.
13: Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?
Hmm, I don’t know if you would really call it that because it was kind of not even a relationship, but they were kind of on the DL about their friendship because of the stigma around Hufflepuffs always being ridiculed by Slytherins so I guess so.
14: Is 4 still together?
Nah, Uther had to go and ruin Morgana.
15: Is 10 canon?
Depends on who you ask but I guess not really. Almost.
16: If all ten ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?
Merthur. Merlin’s magic and Arthur’s fighting combined make them a pretty badass team.
17: Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?
The Weasleys, bruh. Specifically Ron and Ginny.
18: Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?
Enjoltaire and Merthur.
19: Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?
Absolutely.
20: If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all up forever, which ship would you sink?
Probably Enjoltaire. I KNOW. They’re my favourite ship, but a huge part of why I like it so much is how heartbreaking it is to see Grantaire’s adoration go almost unrequited. I like the ship as it is. Obvious in canon, but tragically ended before it begins.

Maze Runner Tag
I was tagged by @iamyourblooddealer :)
1. What job would you have if you were in the Glade? Probably a builder, I have zero muscles but I’m studying architecture so? Also I would have so much determination to make the glade a better place to live that it would work I think.
2. You can choose to save one person from the first book/movie, who would it be? I never really thought Alby would have been necessary after the Glade, and Chuck deserved better so Chuck.
3. Favorite Glader slang? “You’re the shunkiest shuck-faced shuk there ever was”. Never gets old.
4. Would you rather fight one giant griever or 25 puppy-sized grievers? I’m a lazy person so one giant Griever ;)
5. Which Hogwarts house(s) do you think the mighty gladers are in?
Gally - Slytherin
Newt & Minho - Gryffindor
Thomas & Chuck - Hufflepuff
Teresa & Alby - Ravenclaw
6. Glader most likely to win a food eating contest? Gally, because that guy is just too proud to ever lose any challenge tbh
7. Favorite ship? NEWTMAS. (Can I also say Dylmas?)
Tumblr media
8. You run into James Dashner in public. What do you do ? Glare at him because that pig doesn’t deserve one more second of my attention.
9. Glade or the Scorch? Glade. I wouldn’t survive twelve seconds in the Scorch lmao.
10. You’re bitten by a crank, how do you spend your remaining time? Tell my friends that I do love them but there’s no point in waiting for me/ try to save me so that they should go on. And then curse myself for my own stupidity :3
11. Would you want your memories back if WICKED offered them to you? No, thus is pointless it just hurts yourself as it reminds you of a time and place you can never ever go back to.
12. If you could listen to one song while hiking across the Scorch, what would it be? Something reminding me of the people I love so that it was keep me going, idk.
13. Did you forgive Teresa for what she did at the end of the Scorch trials? Yes, absolutely. It wasn’t an easy decision, but in the end she did it because she thought she could save as much people as she could. She never meant to harm anyone, she couldn’t know there was no cure. I would probably have taken the same path tbh.
Tumblr media
14. Favorite new character in the Scorch Trials? Jorge my man 😍😍
THE DEATH CURE SPOILERS
15. Gally’s back! How did you react? I missed my baby Will Poulter sooo much!! And even in the books he was such an interesting character that was the best thing that could have happened I was just so happy I started imagining many scenarios with him it was great!
16. What is your most anticipated scene to watch in the Death Cure? Newt’s scenes are just so freaking good and always carry so many emotions. Probably in that order: 1. Page 250, 2. His discussion w/ Thomas (that deleted scene though), 3. Reunion with Minho, 4. Reading his letter. Shout out to the opening though.
17. Favorite WICKED character? I love how Ava Paige is depicted both in the movie and the books, even though they’re very different. Was she exactly a villain? What was her exact relation to finding a cure? Did she actually give up in the end??
18. Thomas tried to request a last meal at WICKED (In the book). What would your request be? Something shucking long to cook so that I would get max extra time to find an alternative plan ;)
19. Who do you think steps up as the leader in Paradise ? Idk I just really see them as a community, although now that you say it, there must have been a leader. So maybe Vince? That’s what seems to be in the movie ?
THE DEATH CURE SPOILERS IS OVER
Tumblr media
20. If you could visit one set from any of the maze runner films, which one would you choose? The Glade. It looks so real & the cast always says how much they loved that place. Plus it’s where it all began!
21. If you could forget the plot and everything about the maze runner so you could experience reading/watching the series for the first time again, would you do it? YES! A thousand times yes! I would die for that! Plus, it would really be interesting to see if I would react the same way/ stan the same ships etc.
22. Would you rather face a griever, cranks, or the bulb-monsters from the end of the scorch trials (books)? Grievers are the most stupid if the three, so I would go with that. (Although honestly? None of them, thank you very much!)
23. Any Glader headcannons? The surviving gladers having reunions in the Safe Heaven where they just remind themselves if the few good memories they have from the glade (like Frypan’s stew or the sunset) just to never forget those who couldn’t make it to the end, and to remind themselves of the community they were and still are.
24. What would you say to Wes Ball if you met him? THANK YOU thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you !!!! I couldn’t have ever dreamed of a better adaptation of those books, those characters. It’s an incredible job and I’m so proud and thankful for it.
25. Favorite fandom memory? How everyone is allowed to ship ANY characters together & it always seems to make sense. I will never get tired of that 👏👏
26. Finally, favorite thing about the maze runner? There are no villains/ heroes. Just people making decisions in particular situations, that end up having certain consequences. The world isn’t black or white, and everything in these books reflects it. Cranks used to be human beings, as Newt was; Teresa and Ava Paige acted with good intentions, Thomas failed as much as he won, Gally wasn’t that bad in the end, although the Right Arm ended up causing it’s own death etc. It’s such an interesting book, on so many levels and it rises so many issues.
Tumblr media
That was so interesting to do, thanks for tagging me 😘😘

Fukigen na Mononokean Ch. 50
Lots of iiiinteresting implications this chapter... What’s your theory~?
This chapter did give me a little more trouble than usual, so I encourage you take a look at the official English release when it comes out, preferably on Crunchyroll if you’re able!
The newest chapter can be read on the official website by clicking the yellow button labeled 読む!
Fukigen na Mononokean Chapter 50 – Black Reaper
Page 1
Abeno: It's not a “good story,” but...
Will you hear it?
Page 2
Ashiya: Please let me hear it.
Abeno: A long time ago...
The previous master of the Mononokean spoke of “Ashiya Sakae.”
Ashiya: ...!
(Aoi-san did...!?)
Page 3
Abeno: As far as I can remember, according to that story,
Abeno: “Ashiya Sakae” passed away a long time ago.
Page 4
Abeno: I don't know the exact date or time, but
Abeno: It was roughly 100 years ago...
Ashiya: 100 years?
[100 – Father's death.
Mother's birth.
Sister's birth.
My birth]
Ashiya: (Wait...?) My parents transcended space-time to meet each other? (The boy and girl who leapt through time?)
Abeno: Then I wouldn't have any connection with your father, either.
Page 5
Ashiya: Someone else with the same name...?
Abeno: ...No...
Abeno: You said it earlier, but... Concerning the years, it's very possible, though the details are fuzzy...
Abeno: Yahiko confirmed it. (His sense of time is warped.)
[The first time I met Yahiko...]
(Yahiko: It's been about 30 years since we last played together!)
(Abeno: It's been 8 years.)
Abeno: ...Besides, we don't know of anyone else who is able to see demons.
Abeno: If we believe the same person is your father, that possibility has to be certain.
Page 6
Ashiya: ...Was he sick?
...Was it an accident?
Ashiya: Or was there another reason?
Abeno: If it was connected to a client of the Mononokean, there should be a written report of it.
If you don't have a problem with that, I can investigate.
Abeno: What do you want to do?
Ashiya: ......
Page 7
Ashiya: The first time my father disappeared, it wasn't long after I was born.
Ashiya: I thought it must have been because he got involved in some incident or accident.
My mother and sister worried sick over that, too.
Ashiya: It was... my third Christmas.
(Sis: Daaad!)
Page 8
Ashiya: The next morning, he was gone.
Ashiya: And since then, he's never come home again.
Page 9
Ashiya: If he's already passed away like you say, Abeno-san,
I wonder what he was doing after that day.
(If I knew his last moments...)
Sis: I don't wanna talk about a jerk who abandoned his family.
(Maybe I'd find a reason for her to talk about him.)
Page 10
Ashiya: I...
Ashiya: I also want to know about my father's last moments.
Ashiya: Can I ask you to investigate about “Sakae”?
Abeno: Very well, I shall.
Page 11
Ashiya: It's a bothersome task, but thank you very much.
Ashiya: (Um...) Could it be that, just now, my total debt went up to two million yen?
Abeno: You should have considered that before making your request.
Ashiya: Is there an employee discount?
Abeno: Nope.
Ashiya: Ehh?
Abeno: Will you cancel it?
(Abeno: Mononokean, come.)
Ashiya: No! Please help me!
Page 12
Legislator: Since then, it seems like you've been investigating all sorts of stuff...
Looks like it's a tough battle.
Page 13
Legislator: I wonder if he was able to find some kind of clue?
Legislator: More importantly...
The “shrill noise coming from the record room” my employees reported to me about...
Was the fault of this plank from the human world?
Legislator: Oh? If I push it, letters appear on the surface.
Human world letters... What's an “alarm”?
Page 14
Ashiya: (He's still at Newt Lake, huh...
I said they only take attendance at 12, but...)
(Did he find something about “Sakae”?)
Fusshi: Ashiyaan!
Fusshi: Break time is over~!
Ashiya: Okaay.
Page 15
Ashiya: Ah! Abeno-san!
Fusshi: Abenon, you came~!
Ashiya&Fusshi: Trick or Treat!
Abeno: ...Wha?
Page 16
[Today is the Modoribashi High School
Cultural festival.]
Mummy: You finally came... I've been waiting, Abeno...
Abeno: (Who's this?!)
Mummy(<-Saga): Don't worry, we're prepared a proper costume for you, too.
(Being carted away)
Fusshi: Clothes change, clothes change~
Ashiya: ...
Page 17
(...How much was he able to find out about Sakae?)
(I'll ask him once the cultural festival is over.)
(Saga: There's no escape, Abeno...)
(Fusshi: Abeno~n, Abeno~n!)
[The Mononokean master, asking his employee to help him for once.]
[The employee, totally oblivious.]
[Darts: 1 round = 100 yen]
Girl: Come on in!
Ashiya: First year Class 2 is doing a Halloween teahouse!
Ashiya: Please come visit!
Page 18
Ashiya&Abeno: (mumble) Trick or treat...
Ashiya: Abeno-san... We're supposed to advertise, so you have to speak louder...
Abeno: Shut up. Should I go witch hunting?
Ashiya: Forgive my rudeness, grim reaper, sir...
Ashiya: (Even though he's totally unsuited for advertising... A grim reaper that has his sullenness maxed out would be no good serving customers... [Completely opposite from his skill with serving demons... Where does it go?])
(Looks like I'll have to approach this differently...)
Ashiya: (Come on in!) We have pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin fondue, and pumpkin ajillo! I recommend the pumpkin coriander pie!
Abeno: (Those items...) Isn't there some easier way to do this?
Ashiya: Pumpkin is good for preventing colds and your sensitivity to chills!
Abeno: Isn't a witch and grim reaper advocating for good health while advertising a shop is too suspicious?
Page 19
Ashiya: (Nwahhh!!) Don't nitpick an advertiser's publicizing!
Abeno: (Ah!?) You wanna go right here?!
Student1: (Oh?!) The witch and grim reaper are fighting?!
Student2: Is it a performance from the kendo club?
Zenko: Stop fighting!
Page 20
(Weapons seized)
Zenko: So the First Year Class 2 is doing a Halloween teahouse.
Ashiya: Please drop in for a bit! (Trick or treat.)
Zenko: Sure.
Ashiya: Zenko, are you wandering around by yourself?
Zenko: No, there's two of us.
Zenko: Actually...
Zenko: He was throwing a tantrum about how he wanted to go to the cultural festival.
So I came with Yahiko.
Page 21
(That mischievous Yahiko...!?)
(Came to the school while it's transformed for the festival!?)
Zenko: Was it a bad idea to take him here?
Ashiya: Where is Yahiko now?
Zenko: About that... I lost sight of him in the crowd a little while ago.
Ashiya: He's lost?!
Abeno: For that guy to get lost...
Abeno: If he wanted to find Zenko, he would easily be able to know her position from her smell or her aura...
But if me or Ashiya tried to find him, he could hide his presence from us in the school....
Abeno: Being able to run around on his own for the first time, he must feel like an escaped fugitive.
Ashiya: (Something's definitely going to happen!!)
Page 22
Zenko: There must be somewhere Yahiko wanted to go.
Ashiya: Then, let's look there first.
Abeno: Where?
[The Spine-Tingling Hospital Ward ~the night of blood-covered spirits~]
Zenko: Here.
Spooky Nurse: Next... Three patients... Please, come inside...
[Showing Restraint.]
Ashiya: Uwaaaah!!
Ashiya: Stooop!
Ashiya: Eyyaaahh!!
Page 23
Ashiya: I felt strangely moved at the end...
Zenko: Yeah...
Abeno: A haunted house with a happy ending is a killjoy, though...
(Abeno: Did you even look for Yahiko?)
Zenko: Was Yahiko there?
Abeno: I didn't see anything he could have hidden himself as.
Ashiya: Did Yahiko seem like he wanted to go anywhere else?
[Soft-serve]
Student3: Welcome!
Student4: One soft-serve ice-cream, please!
Student3: The tip disappeared again....! What's happening?!
Page 24
Yahiko: There's so many sweets and places to play!!
Yahiko: Cultural festivals are so fun!!
Yahiko: It's unfair that humans get to play all the time!
Yahiko: Where should I go next?
Page 25
Yahiko: You...
Yahiko: ?
Page 26
Ashiya: I sense Fuzzy sending the signal with his aura!
Abeno: Seems like he was able to sniff out Yahiko. (He's accurate for a hairball.)
Ashiya: Yahiko is where Fuzzy's presence is!
Abeno: Let's go, Ashiya. Don't let him escape!
Ashiya: Right!
(Yahiko: Wah!)
Zenko: Bad boy.
Yahiko: I'm sorrryyy.
Page 27
Yahiko: Haruitsuki, let's playyy!
Abeno: You haven't reflected a bit, huh...
Ashiya: Because of you doing whatever you liked, there's a big uproar about strange phenomena happening everywhere!
(Darts guy: The darts flew started flying, and got a high score?!)
(Guitar guy: I had a session with ghost's drumming!)
(Art girl: The brush started moving by itself and drew a picture in red on the white canvas...)
Abeno: Go back to the temple before you cause more of a disturbance!
Yahiko: Eeeehh!!
Yahiko: No way!
Page 28
Ashiya: (He's being even more selfish than usual today...)
Page 29
Zenko: I'll go back with you, Yahiko.
It's not good to trouble Abeno and everyone else.
Abeno: ...Fine.
Abeno: I'll play with you.
Yahiko: !
Abeno: But, not at the school.
Abeno: I'll take us somewhere with no one around.
Page 30
Yahiko: Okay!
Yahiko: Then, let's go to the elder's place!
Abeno: I have to go change my clothes, but I'll go right there.
Yahiko: Okay!
Yahiko: Let's see who's faster, me or the Mononokean!
Page 31
Yahiko: See ya!
Zenko: (Abeno...) Is it okay leaving your job at the festival?
Abeno: My main job concerns demons, so demons take priority.
This human bullhorn can take care of the advertizing no problem
Ashiya: Leave everything to me here!
Zenko: I can take a picture of the witch and grim reaper? (To commemorate.)
Ashiya: Sure thing.
Abeno: No way.
Page 32
(Ashiya: Trick or treat!)
Ashiya: The First Year Class 2 is doing a Halloween teahouse!
Zenko: Please stop by! Trick or treat!
Ashiya: It's not too big? (The costume...)
Zenko: No?
Zenko: It's a shame that Yahiko put a damper on our long-awaited cultural festival...
Even though it was fun to see Abeno of all people in cosplay... (At least I got to sub in for Abeno...)
Ashiya: He'd probably say something like, “I'm not happy at all being the grim reaper.”
Ashiya: Contrary to what he thinks, it really does suit him.
Zenko: Yeah.
Page 33
(The Grim Reaper...)
Ashiya: ......
(Back then, since he appeared in the middle of pure-white snow,)
(I thought he looked like Santa Claus.)
Page 34
[Now, when I think of it, rather than his outfit being like Santa Claus,]
[It's the Grim Reaper...]
Page 35
Ashiya: ......
Zenko: Trick or treat!
Ashiya: Trick or treat...
Page 36
Abeno: I win.
Yahiko: (Che...) And I came here at full-speed, too!
Abeno: Don't you wanna play?
Yahiko: I'm tired, so I'm gonna rest~
Abeno: Yahiko...
Yahiko: Hm?
Page 37
Abeno: Would you know a human named “Ashiya Sakae”?
Yahiko: Ashiya?
Yahiko: (Yeah?) Don't I know him? That's Ashiya, right?
Abeno: You're not a five-year-old. It's “Ashiya Sakae.”
(Ashiya: I feel like someone's gossiping about me.)
Yahiko: (Eh?) I don't know? An Ashiya that isn't Ashiya? (Another Ashiya who isn't Ashiya...?? ?)
Abeno: I'm sorry for asking.
Page 38
Abeno: There was a human who could see demons helping out with the Mononokean, who was kept out of official records.
Abeno: Within the last 30 years, who would have been by Aoi's side. A golden eyed and golden haired man.
Abeno: ...Though, his hair could have been dyed, and he could have worn contacts...
It's hard to count on just eye witness.
Yahiko: 30 years ago, huh~
Page 39
Yahiko: Wasn't that when we first played together, Haruitsuki?
Abeno: Didn't I tell you that was 8 years ago. (Though it's already been 9 now...)
Abeno: ...If I calculate using your senses, it'd be closer to 60 years ago...
(Between now and 16 years ago...)
Abeno: That human disappeared due to some sort of occurrence.
(Before Ashiya was born...)
(If that's true, the man Ashiya met and called “father” would be...)
Page 40
Yahiko: I wonder if it was that guy...?
Abeno: !
Abeno: “That guy”?
Yahiko: If you play with me until I'm satisfied,
Yahiko: I'll transform into that guy's form for you!

Faith in government powered Apollo 11. We don’t have that anymore.

Columnist covering national security
I was born in 1969, but already that year seems to belong to a lost world. Back in the “Age of Aquarius,” American troops were fighting in Vietnam, American students were demonstrating in the streets and American astronauts were landing on the moon. There have been plenty of wars and demonstrations since but no more moon landings after 1972. As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, it’s worth asking why that extraordinary achievement was not a prelude to moon bases or manned missions to Mars, as so many in 1969 expected. Part of the answer can be found in some of the most interesting and illuminating poll numbers I have ever seen.
The Pew Research Center has compiled surveys of public trust in the federal government from 1958 to 2019. In 1958, trust was sky high: 73 percent. And why not? Washington had created the Tennessee Valley Authority, Social Security and the interstate highway system. It had vanquished a Great Depression and won a world war. It was now desegregating public schools.
Faith in government had dipped by the end of the 1960s — 62 percent in 1968, 54 percent in 1970 — but there was still much to inspire Americans, including the passage with bipartisan support of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, Medicare and Medicaid. By landing a man on the moon, the government seemed to show that it could do anything.
Alas, faith in government could not survive defeat in Vietnam, stagflation and, above all, Watergate. Public confidence was just 36 percent after President Richard M. Nixon’s resignation in 1974, and it has never reached earlier highs.
There was a rise in support during the 1980s — but only into the 40-percent range. President Ronald Reagan had taken office proclaiming “government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” But while Reagan helped to undermine faith in government in the long term, his immediate success, ironically, had the opposite effect by showing that America wasn’t ungovernable.
Another irony: Confidence in government plummeted in the 1990s — as low as 19 percent in 1994 — even though this decade is now seen as the apogee of American power and prosperity. Presumably this curious fact can be explained by a combination of Newt Gingrich’s inveterate hostility toward government and President Bill Clinton’s scandals.
Faith in government rose again briefly after the 9/11 attacks; the only time since 1972 it exceeded 50 percent was in October 2001. But the disasters of the George W. Bush presidency — the Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, the financial crash — took their toll. By the time Bush left office in 2009, faith had fallen to 25 percent. It has never recovered — even though the economy did. Under President Barack Obama, the nation launched the longest economic expansion in its history. Yet public confidence that the government in Washington would “do what is right,” “always” or “most of the time,” has fallen to just 17 percent today.
This is due mainly to the way Republicans have demonized government: First, the tea party attacked government spending, and now President Trump defames even agencies such as the FBI that Republicans have traditionally lionized. Republicans also undermined Obama’s legitimacy by insinuating that the first African American president wasn’t a real American. Occupy Wall Street leftists have done their bit by convincing many Democrats that the government has been captured by the rich. Both sides see Washington as the enemy — the right views it as the preserve of the anti-Trump “deep state,” the left as the preserve of Trumpian crooks and racists who lock children in cages. Today faith in government is even lower among Democrats (14 percent) than Republicans (21 percent).
This attitude is what made possible Trump’s rise: If most people think that the government is already broken, why not elect someone who will blow everything up? And because Trump is so vicious and incompetent, his presidency will only further corrode respect for our institutions.
This is a lot of the reason we no longer seem capable of big, bold undertakings, whether going to Mars or rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure. Almost no one trusts government to do anything right. This suspicion is understandable but excessive: By historical or global standards, our government is actually more honest and effective than most. Even though the president is a dangerous demagogue, many honest men and women toil in the executive, judicial and legislative branches to contain the damage — with some success.
The challenge for the next Democratic president will be to revive confidence in Washington. A program of national service, as suggested by Pete Buttigieg, could help but is almost impossible to implement when so few people trust our government.
Our country cannot function effectively and we cannot successfully confront our biggest challenges — global warming, gun violence, China and Russia, autocratic populism, the debt, racial tensions, undocumented immigration — if we hold our leaders and institutions in such low regard. Democrats must oppose Trump with all their might, but they must also channel the can-do spirit that made the moon landing possible — John F. Kennedy’s faith that we could accomplish great things by working together. If we view government as nothing but a horror show, that is precisely what we will get.
