Taken on Nikon FM2 using Kodak Gold 200

I’d made the walk through 32nd Street to Penn Station countless times but it was only at that moment that I was struck by how overbearing the emptiness of a building I hadn’t realized was torn down was.

Having the lights of stores on 33rd Street shining over the empty let was a surreal experience and looking on this shot almost has a melancholic atmosphere at the loss of mass.

Self-taught Bastien Anguiano began photography more than 20 years ago, Inspired by his father who also took pictures.

"I take pictures where life takes me, where emotions are born, and I try to transcribe in images what touches me, speaks to me and moves me. I use a Nikon FM2 and a Pentax 645 and do a lot of double exposure work. I find that this technique is very rich and adds a mysterious part to the image. Its reading is made more complex and it is all the more interesting. The spectator can get lost in the image, the codes are redistributed, the possible readings multiply."

"I also like collaborating with other photographers doing film swaps where I send an already exposed film to another photographer who superimposes new images on mine without knowing what I put on it before. This mixture of universe and chance is delicious."

My goal is to only post pictures I take with my Nikon's. I have a D500, and an FM2. My favorite lenses are my 35mm and 10mm fisheye.

William John “Bill” Cunningham (1929–2016)

He was a New York Times photographer and journalist known for his “On the Street” and “Evening Hours” columns. As much a cultural anthropologist as he was a fashion photographer, Cunningham was known for his candid street and event photographs of New Yorkers that depicted up-to-the-minute fashion trends.

Bill Cunningham used a manual Nikon FM2 camera, before transitioning to the digital Nikon D40x with just a 10MP sensor and max iso of 1600. He often circulated around the city on a bicycle, and his photos were a study of human nature and personalities. His photos were often poorly framed, slightly soft, and grainy, but what he lacked in technical ability he made up for with heaps of passion.

New Addition to the Family - Nikon ZFC Black Edition

The gear I will be bringing with me to Belgium and Iceland in 2024.

First impression? Meant for use with small z-mount prime lenses only, tributing the days when Nikon launches the FM2 with her AIS glass family. Nothing too bulky, off-balanced.

To contemplate adapting the camera with say an FTZ-II, you want to still restrict yourself to only the standard Nikon AF-S prime lenses like the 1.8s, 2s and 2.8s, so as to keep the overall CG balanced. Failing to do that would only bring harm to either your comfort or aesthetics (hideous hand grip add-on mandatory)

I find the use of Speedbooster yielding a similar experience in weight distribution (in fact a tad worst off than basic adaptor), with mounting my Canon 40mm F/2.8 STM edging the acceptability index, though offering the added benefits of a full-frame PoV and one stop of light advantage and DoF.

I must highlight the crippled FTZ-II adapter at least once here, with a deep frown for leaving shooters of AIS and AF-D glasses in the air. That's both an irresponsible and unprofessional act on the part of the newer, disrespectful young design team of Nikon.

In my book, the Nikon ZFC is still but a Nikon D7500 that's put on a diet with a change of superficial facade.
