As part of a collaboration with National Geographic, Disney TVA is expanding the "Disney Animals" franchise with a series of shorts themed around ARIEL as part of the annual "Sharkfest" event.

In the shorts Ariel will teach kids about the ocean ecosystem.

When Flounder forgets to send his Christmas letter to Santa Mer-Claus, Ariel and her friends go on a holiday adventure to deliver the letter to him.

“Flounder’s Christmas Letter” premieres December 2 on Disney Junior, streaming November 27 on Disney+.

Eight-year-old Ariel is an Afro-Caribbean mer-girl who lives under the sea in magical Atlantica with her family and friends inDisney Junior Ariel, a reimagined version of The Little Mermaid. Her friends Sebastian and Flounder return from the classic tale, but Ariel also meets new mer-friends Fernie and Lucia. Ariel has a big voice that she is learning to use for good.  This Level 1 reader is Lexile leveled to align the reader and text at an appropriate level of reading difficulty. The use of simple text and word repetitions helps lead emergent readers to reading success.
