so i love the memes, i think they’re genuinely delightful (i’ve watched like four ‘northerners v texas’ tiktoks) but i feel like a little clarification would be helpful in case any folks don’t know why we’re not dealing with it well

our latitude cuts through the sahara desert and the middle east, and i had six inches of snow blocking my car this morning. none of our infrastructure accounts for that, not to mention having to adapt to a sudden climate shift on a personal level. it’s not easy! and this shift is gonna pass too soon to fully acclimate, so we’ll be pretty much exactly as prepared later as we are now

i’m not here to ruin anybody’s fun, just providing a little real-world context
