As rock interiors go, still not as good as the episode of MTV Cribs Hayley Williams was on in like 2005 where she has this ugly but totally normal little guest bedroom and then the camera pans like 3 ft to the left and she’s like and THIS is my wall sized replica of Thursday’s revolver cover which I love

#poll#Had to go with Nirvana because I'm me and Nevermind is a top 5 album for me.#Dreams clearly winning is absolutely valid as well though. Close second for me.

okay now I'm curious and I dunno if this is really such an archaic foreign thing to young people today or if I'm just out of touch
Please reblog, I'd love to see a lot of responses!

#personal#I also get reminded by a family friend and another family member all the time.#Especially when I get read to filth for it too.#'You never stand up for yourself and/or talk back to people because you were too scared to do it growing up.'#<- Actual quote from said family friend. Fucked me up for life I fear.

i know i'm just a stranger but as someone that was in the same position and moved across the country: do it. you do not owe your mom anything. cut contact with her if you can if you do move. best decision of my life was to cut contact with my parents once i did move. they were financially dependent on me and still lived above their means with MY money when i lived with them and was giving them room + board. do what is best for you! i know i'm MUCH happier now.
Thank you. I needed this. I'm happy that you're happy and I really do hope this move works out for me because I do want to get away from her and here, truly. I think it would be great for my mental health above all. Scary, but I'd feel free.
I think the worst thing for me is I am unable to actually cut contact with my mom because my family is very close knit. And, that's one of their biggest worries too. They're like, "How are we gonna see you on holidays then?" because I told her I couldn't guarantee I would be able to come home every Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. because of work if the move is possible. There are certain people in the family I would love to still talk to though, but if I'm talking to one of them, I'm basically talking to them all. It's exhausting.

I've finally told my very narcissistic mother that I might be potentially moving almost 700 miles away this fall. It did not go well.
#personal#This 52 year old woman gave me puppy dog eyes.......#I'm SOO tired of metaphorically lighting myself on fire to keep her warm!#And I know she's gonna tell everyone else in the family and it's gonna be a WHOLE ordeal.#Why is my whole family so committed to being like 'THIS is your home. Why would you want to move?' when they should support my decision?!#I told my aunt earlier today and while she said she would support me I still got a bit of flack from her.#I just wanna point out that my area is very traditional family values MAGA shithole... I want out.
