#Now I'm not personally into Super Sentai yet
Text
Hey so I somehow had a homophobic and transphobic super sentai blog follow me so reminder: Tokusatsu as a whole is for the LGBTQA+ actually. GENUINELY one of the most homoerotic genres I’ve seen. I’ll rant in the tags but.

UTB (Up to Boy) Magazine, February 2024 Issue (Vol.334) ft. Hirakawa Yuzuki Interview and Photo Shoot (translation below)
Publication: December 22, 2023
Immovable Upside
Currently appearing in "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger," the currently airing Super Sentai series, actor Hirakawa Yuzuki-san makes her second appearance in our magazine. She's changed her hair, having it cut into a shorter style, as she presents her pure and mature duality, which has become even more transparent.
-We've been rushing through the year-
"You've cut your hair short, and your look is totally different from the last time we saw you. Personally, how do you feel about your current short hairstyle?"
Hirakawa: Before I started acting, I always kept it short, so it somehow feels nostalgic. I cut it because of my role, but I thought it was abit of a waste since it's been that long for about 5 years (laughs). Still, I think it'll be fine since it grows quickly.
"Starting from episode 27, the second chapter of King-Ohger is set two years later. We think the change in hairstyle made it easier for you to make changes in your performance."
Hirakawa: That's true. I think I'm able to show more strength. I think that after two years, they're more aware and prepared as a king, and that they have a greater sense of responsibility.
"Now that the story has progressed considerably, are there any memorable moments from the episodes that have been broadcast so far?"
Hirakawa: In episode 25, the sense of distance between Rita and their retainer Morfonia, or rather, the values of their relationship have become much closer. It was a time where Rita gathered the courage to take another step forward on their own, so that episode left quite an impression on me. From there, the way they interacted with Morfonia changed completely, so I think it was a turning point for them. Also, in episode 38, they reveal the face they've been hiding up until that point, and showed all kinds of facial expressions as an "idol," so I hope you enjoyed it.
"It's already aired, so if you haven't seen it yet, please catch up and watch it…..! By the time this magazine comes out, filming for the final episode will be underway, right?"
Hirakawa: In about another month or so……"We've got such a long time before it starts!," is what I thought, but only for a moment. I think it was more instantaneous after the Summer film ended. Until then, we weren't used to filming, and everyone was in a state of just trying to figure things out. The cast members have been good friends since the beginning, but since we spent alot of time together, including during the regional promotional campaigns for the Summer film, we became even closer, and that time really flew by.
"For those who view things similarly, the "loss" seems to be intense."
Hirakawa: It might be because me and the rest of the cast are starting to become aware of the end, or maybe it's because some fans are also like, "It's coming to an end….?" I still go out to dinner with all the cast members after filming, so I think we'll still probably see each other again ever when it's over. We've been together for a year and we've gotten to know each other very well, so when I imagine the end of filming, I feel incredibly sad.
"As a fan, I'm going to miss seeing everyone's friendly conversations on Toei Channel very much……Now, 2023 will soon come to an end, looking back, what kind of year was it?"
Hirakawa: We've really been rushing through the year. I've been working hard during the filming of King-Ohger in order to make it better and to help myself grow. I was able to experience many things this year, as there were quite a few jobs that came about as a result of King-Ohger, and it was the most thrilling year for me as a performer. Of course, there were many things I worried about, but I think it was also an extravagant year, filled with many happy and frustrating experiences.
"What kind of year do you want 2024 to be?"
Hirakawa: I think I'll be apart of King-Ohger until the first half of the year, when we perform at G-Rosso, but after that, I'll have to move forward on my own. I'd like to "polish" my inner self and become a more appealing person. As for my work, I'll do my best to continue to appear in productions without taking any breaks inbetween.

Bottom of the barrel isekai review!
Tumblr media
hey
hey
hey buddy
if you think im going to spell that, you can go Fuck yourself.
hey sweet peas, it's time to indulge in my favorite self masochistic pass time of reading horrid isekais and then explaining why they are bad to you.
anyways we have (read above). What's it about? let's present ourselves onto the steps of christ and ready some self flagellation devices~!
meet our wannabe hero Kurei yuugo, they are a god damn sentai nerd who dreams of being a boot licking fucking pig or a fire fighter in their never ending quest to be the hero they admire ever so dearly. he goes out and buys himself a brand new power ranger figure when some dude pops out with a knife and decides today is the day to snap. he tries to snap but with the dreams of every boot not yet licked kurai jumps to action, beating the shit out of this guy! only to realize he has been shanked with a one way express ticket to isekai land!
oh fuck, did i say his name was kurai? it's actually yuugo clay now and he wakes up about to get shanked again by some random blonde twink that is stealing his apparent girlfriend. That's right folks, your favorite kaman rider nerd reincarnated into an otome game right at the annulment event!
This world is a game luminous history, a dating game with a rpg magic system, how do we know this? Because Aryan wet dream with a sword that we saw sticking up yuugo is also not a native here, he popped into this world with a slightly better spawn spot as one of the game's romanceable targets. we also get to know that their are multiple chuckle fucks out there. anyways his plan is just to have a harem so please remember to have a foam hand out whenever something bad happens to him.
anyways that's not the meat and potatoes of this, we haven't even gotten to the god damn Gimmick of this series! Yuugos gets disinherited because Yuugo is a bitch prior to getting soul snatched and has to be homeless. his younger brother phil helps him out and gives him a apparent weak magic item, a bracelet that can transform into a full set of armor that looks suspiciously like a kaman rider suit, which is great because some random asshole decides to spawn kill the moment school starts, forcing him into a duel by... vaguely threatening his new lil brother, i'll be real, they aren't exactly clear what they are going to do to him but its props physical harm.
turns out the rider suit is pretty strong for him as he one shots random asshole, earning yuugo his first duel!
anyways, this makes blonde twink go fucking insane because now the script is off, but again asserts that its all gucchi and he is still going to have a bunch of girlfriends because in a world of endless magic the one constent is someone is looking to get their dick wet. fuck learning how to be a fucking wizard i guess, or looking for bad ass magic sword, Dick must have its moisture level elevated. Damn.
oh, also, yuugo is still homeless, that never stops being a thing. I'm going to stop regenerating the plot and actually start talking about its themes and such.
Again we are met with the idea that someone is taking over for someone. the implications of which are somewhat horrifying if we choose to dwell on it but we got school politics to deal with so we don't. The main character is mostly a blank slate uploaded with the bog standard lawful good personality of your average shounen protagonist.  A welcome change of pace even though it creates a somewhat boring lead whose main point of attraction is “they did/said something nice to me and now i'm going to be their super bestie fore-ever and root for them.”  which we see with the characters brother and the first introduced  female love interest melt.
But we do see another plot theme erupt in the main antagonist within the story. That being engaging with the world in earnest vs attempting to interact with the world with prior knowledge in effort to enrich yourself through that knowledge. Yuugo does not care that he is in another world, he already died a hero's death so at this point he is just playing a new game plus. The antagonist on the other hand was a Hardcore gamer, the horror, who had memorized the routes throughout the game and was meticulously taking actions in order to take over as the protagonist and rich the “poly for me but not for thee” ending.
To me this makes the thesis of the manga that you should really not be like the antagonist. I know, truly bold readings here at the bottom of the barral, I'll take my reward for it later.
Ok ok but what makes it bad? It's because isekai is an inherent colonizer trope. You, the one from the enlightened land, come to some fantasy world, notably behind in technology and become its god. You are perfect at everything, you are able to emasculate the lands men and make the lands women soon with every wayward cape swish. Of course yuugo is still participating in it but to a lesser extent. They understand that this is a fantasy world but they are coming at it from someone who wants to earnestly learn about the world and participate within it as the native populace would. The antagonist has no interest in that and wants to exploit what they know of it as much as possible to reach their desired end point.
I will admit that i'm reading a lot of this manga that may not be there. To be clear, the point of this manga is that a jock kaman rider fan beats up a bunch of shitty nerds while in cool armor. That's the if and and but of it all and there is not much that can change that. Though i do think it's interesting that even if by accident the author created a really interesting point about something inherent within the genre that they write in.
Do you have to worry about copious sex stuff?
The main antagonist keeps yapping about wanting a harem and there are some lucky pervert moments with melt but that's about it.
Is the author heavily invested in the use of troupes to aid the story?
Kinda
Is it worth reading?
Again, Kinda. If you like kaman rider stuff, this is like a dinner mint, fine but if you got it at a restaurant alone you would want to kill someone.

I'm literally going to scrub all the scenes in the Donbros vs Zenkai trailer, because I'm so happy for it
Tumblr media
Here's Tarou and Jirou somewhere. I assume somewhere classy, since suit and the alcohol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scenes I don't have much to say
Tumblr media
First time I'm noticing the donbrothers glasses have those decorations like when transformed.
Tumblr media
They seem to have transformed Donbura back to Colorful, somehow. I mean, you almost never see again the base of the old team in this teams up, but it seems Donbura being Black and White Colorful actually helped a lot with it.
Tumblr media
I wanna know who liked the Mochi Wald episode so much we're basically having it again.
Tumblr media
Kaito's dad is getting kidnap by pirates this time. Look, I don't have the best opinion of Zocks as a person, he's great as a character, but as a person keep him very far away from me, but this is Kaito's dad
Tumblr media
That's a Sentai Gear he's holding. If I have to guess, he's the Kikai-ki and kidnapped Kaito's dad so he could force him to do some fake Tojirou Gears, instead of forcing Flint, because he's really nice with his family, and the first Fake Tojiro Gear created was the Mochi World Gear. Eventually the Avataro Gear is going to jump ship, I assume to the Wald, and we're going to have a classic enemy combination again, finally.
Of course, I'm always wrong, so, don't even take this seriously.
Tumblr media
By the background, I think this is Stacy at the Crocodai-oh, and, the one in the foreground... seems to be Hakaizer????
Considering Hakaizer is Proto-Zenkaizer, maybe Kaito's dad decided to give himself a Gearlinger. Why not?
Tumblr media
I'm more interested in the flyers in the background honestly. The resolution is not very good, but I think Gaon is there somehow.
Tumblr media
And now they are in a weird laboratory of sorts. Maybe here is where they do the fake Tojirou Gears (Or, it is the Mochi World trapped yet again. Who knows)
Tumblr media
It seems the one who's going to keep Donbura is going to be Don Murasame, which is a very Donbros!Kaito thing to do
Tumblr media
Here's Gaon and Kaito probably doing some Mochi Dealing in the back alleys... the thing that gets me the most is the fact Kaito is using 2 pairs of sunglasses. The Super Sentai Costume team are back with the little jokes for this man wardrobe and I cannot be happier
Tumblr media
Where the heck are you Sonoi?
Tumblr media
Look at the person at the end of the formation.
HE CAN TRANSFORM BACK
SOMEHOW
GOOOOOOOOO
Tumblr media
IT'S HAKAIZER IN THE DONBROS SIDE OF THE FORMATION! (Between Tarou and Saruhara)
Now I can forgive them for not give me TwokaiFlint. It's still a loss, but I can forgive
Also, the VS using the styling of the Gears is so cute.
Tumblr media
This is not the best shot of this two, but Gold goes with Gold I guess
Tumblr media
I understand the reason of the Armor switch. I don't think either of them look very good, but ok.
Tumblr media
And Secchan is the last shot.
Tumblr media
Here's the collectibles!
The Sword has by the side images of the Kikanoid gears in it so, MAYBE they are going to fuse Don Murasame style into the sword? I dunno, I just want to describe my Zenkaiger collection as "I have him, I have him in black and white, I have all this four, I have the gun that made them one, I have all the Red's DLC and I have all this four as a sword"
I just think that might be a very Zenkaiger thing to do.
And MAYBE they are going to explain the True Hero thing. Who knows at this point

Being a fan of annual series like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider is really interesting
Because, yeah, I have my blorbos. Some of them I'll even keep after the series ends. I can think about them later on, remember the good times. But that's just it
The series will end. Another will come. More characters will be there. And guess what? Just like last time, I'll get so so attached and so so normal about these new guys!
And while I, as an insane person and audience member, have been trained by these series to get used to this. By going back and experiencing the older, completed series and becoming accustomed to it. You can kinda treat it like an old book, where you know the exact length of what's left and expect it to wrap up from the beginning
Which is indirect contrast of how American shows are treated! Think of your Animaniacs, your Steven Universes. We push and fight for shows to keep going, keep going, keep going. And while I'd like to discuss why later, I wanna spend this post talking about how funny it is to see my partner, @anpankko, go through this for the first time
I originally started off by showing him OOO. He took a liking to that and we've been meaning to finish it. But we pretty quickly moved to Donbros, it was current, new, I thought we could keep up with it. We didn't, ultimately. But it created this fascinating moment I'm living now where I still have yet to finish a show that I am notably obsessed with
And it's not for a lack of desire to! It's the simple fact that the two of us love Momoi and the rest of the cast. And while I've been here time and time before, this is the first time Ang has to say goodbye to one of these casts. And I know how hard that can be. So I'll let her take his time

for the wip ask game: truer than truth and/or DNG au
Thanks for the ask and for tagging me in the first place. (Referencing this ask game.)
DNG au is the Devil's Nest Gang au which I'm pretty sure I've talked about to you? I don't think I've worked on it any since then hah
It's the au where basically FMA goes differently and the Xing squad never go to Amestris and the Devil's Nest never gets destroyed, but Father and everyone still get defeated. Ling becomes crown prince some other way, but speaks out at the wrong moment against the Emperor or something and flees for his life to Amestris and ends up working at Greed's bar
...I thought I had posted excerpts on tumblr before but the search bar is not giving me results, so no idea if I've shared this part or not
When Ling was sent on yet another run to the butchery, he pondered over a good way to ask if Sig knew about what exactly the Devil's Nest gang got up to without sounding like some kid who had signed up for more than he could handle. By this point, he had developed a bit of a rapport with Sig. Mason was friendly, but their conversations had never gone further than generic niceties, and Ling had only met Izumi once, but she intimidated him. That left Sig as the only person in this entire country who wasn’t a criminal that Ling regularly talked to. He didn’t want to lose that. The butchery already had customers when Ling arrived, a pair of golden-haired men around his age talking to Sig. “—a trip, but she should be back tomorrow,” Sig was saying. The shorter one grumbled, but the taller one said, “Well, we’ll come by again, then.” With that, they turned to leave without buying anything, and Ling realized belatedly that they were probably Sig’s friends, not customers. As they passed, Ling noticed their eyes—both sets a shade of light brown that he had not seen on anyone else before. Perhaps that shade was more common in other parts of Amestris, but Ling had searched for immortality for too long not to be reminded of the tales of the golden-eyed, golden-haired Sage of the West. They were gone before he could think any more on that, and then Sig was looking at him, expectantly waiting for Ling to give his order.
Truer than Truth is a Donbrothers (Super Sentai) fic that was only going to be one part, but then I realized I couldn't fit the romance that I was writing this fic for into the story, so now it has a part 2.
Basically part 1 is centered around Sonoi, a guy from a different dimension of reality, and his journey through the later 2/3rds of the show (plus a bit canon-divergent post canon) as he tries to understand humans and the purpose of art, especially art that isn't realistic. Basically it plays on the idea that stylized art might not be realistic but it touches on emotions in a way that feels realer than reality (the idea came from something a professor I had said when he was talking about Japanese puppet theater)
Part 2 is post-canon (divergently) focused on Momoi Tarou. Canonically, Sonoi is into 'beautiful lies' and metaphors, so I'm trying to write his pov with a lot of figurative language, but Tarou literally dies if he tries to lie, so I'm trying to write his pov with zero metaphors or anything. Which is kind of challenging but fun. Anyway this is just the two of them doing vaguely couple-y things until someone asks them "are you dating or what??" and they're like "oh yeah i guess so."
The most fun part of part 1 is that in between each scene, there's a short section with one truth and one lie that connects thematically to the following scene. Idk how satisfied I am with it yet, but here are the first two:
Here is a lie: Momoi Tarou is like the moon, something that Sonoi can watch with ease. His existence is not harsh, neither life-giving nor deadly, not so direct and blinding as the sun. He merely tugs gently on the sea, constantly changing from night to night. Here is a truth: Sun or moon or something else, there is no celestial body close enough for Sonoi to touch.
Here is a truth: Momoi Tarou is like the sky, impossibly vast and unreachable; and Sonoi is like the sea, forever gazing up, reflecting that same blue. They could both stretch out into eternity and still never touch except for those most tumultuous of storms when cloud and rain reach down and the waves reach up and for one moment they can connect. Here is a lie: Sonoi is content with this.

Avataro Sentai DonBrothers
Nexus' Master List of Super Sentai Nexus' Drama List
(From now on, I'm going to add my MDL profile to all of my toku posts because I'll be able to track there as well as my personal post.)
This season was actually painful to watch. And I thought Akibaranger was awful.
They're both annoying but in different ways.
If this was Inoue's last season, I'm glad, because he literally threw everything at the wall and expected it to stick.
Completely forgetting it's a Sentai, he just threw in monsters at the last minute for some of the episodes. Completely forgetting it's an anniversary season (much less as supposed sequel to one of the best seasons, Zenkaiger) where the monsters are supposed to reference past stuff, and when they are defeated, the team gets a power-up to use their powers directly instead of Zenkai's summons/power influence. Said monsters when they went giant were also supposed to reference the mechs but they kept recycling the same two suits over and over. Forgetting that they had a budget and having recolors of monster suits.
Felt stupid that they had a soulless crossover reference for the first mech before they actually got their own stuff, and then just brushed off that it never happened.
Didn't like Kiji Brother and Inu Brother's suits being CG because any fight with them was so awkward, especially with their weird proportions on both ends. Couldn't take their "dramatic battle" seriously at all when a stick of a man-bird was fighting Sonic. (Not to mention that it made the stage show awkward because they were acted out by humans.)
None of the characters were likable. And the ones that were, Kijino and Tsubasa, they ruined soon enough. When they spent 44 episodes to reveal Tsubasa as Inu Brother, I got a headache when I read the spoilers. My headcanon is that the Kaito in this show is the god from Zenkai still in Kaito's form, because he acts nothing like how he did in Zenkai and the whole series there was dimension shenanigans anyway, so I'm taking that as fact. (As well as time nonsense in this one, ugh.) Jiro could've been good but he's just so sidelined that even when his plot stuff was settled, he still wasn't relevant until the end.
I couldn't stand it being the Taro show and we're supposed to believe that he's perfect and never wrong, despite the show trying to say that he's wrong yet never punish him because everyone forgives him. And I thought Lucky was a bad protagonist...
So far King-Ohger is good, so it's at least washing this bad taste out of my mouth.

(For some stupid reason, Tumblr refuses to show my reaction to last week's episode of Donbros on search results. However, it can be freely read here for your entertainment! We now return to your regularly scheduled brain melting.)
The greatest union of all time is about to occur. I have no further preamble, let's just fuckin' get right into it!
Spoilers, I guess...
-We're still far beyond your comprehension, huh Sononi?
-Awwww, Sonoi do a paint :)
-You did it :)
-"When the hell did I do that?"
-Sonoza's so proud of you Haruka :)
-God, I'm gonna miss this OP soon.
-Let's not dwell too much on the future though!
-Miho is not a gamer.
-Tsuyoshi certainly has an
-Interesting sense of what someone'd be interested in.
-"Yo, whaddup?"
-"We need Juto knowledge."
-"What are they, some kinda Super Sentai!?"
-"Haha, you really been spending a lot of time with your wife huh buddy? :)"
-Y'know Tsubasa, when Naoki Shiina freed you, the Juto that copied you didn't instantly die.
-I think that might be how they resolve the Natsumi/Miho/Crane Lady situation.
-Ooooooooh, that's right! Somebody's lying here.
-"You guys are noobs anyway."
-Ah, looks like Jirou's going home yet again.
-"I miss my girlfriend. Wanna meet her, Tarou-san? And my dad?"
-Tarou :D
-"Rumi cute <3"
-RUMI GONE
-OKAY
-THIS JUST GOT REAL CREEPY OUT OF NOWHERE
-"Ohhhhhhh, this guy's crazy." -Tsuyoshi Kijino, the absolute last person on Earth who should be saying this about somebody else's love life.
-Oh, here we go
-This HumaGear-looking dude must be this week's Hitotsu-ki.
-I think I've gotten way better about identifying Sentai references, so let's see if I get this one.
-Okay, I'm 100% sure those robots on the folder are Bioman-colored. Lines up with his boss looking like Doctor Man. Incidentally Bioman was a series Haim Saban previously considered adapting all the way back in 1986, a good few years before the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. It, naturally, didn't get off the ground at all (neither did an idea from Stan Lee to adapt Sun Vulcan), but was the origin of the character Alpha-5.
-And after that, you had the simply titled and completely Saban-univolved "Dynaman", which was basically an Abridged-series style gag dub that aired on the USA Network and Nickelodeon from late '87 to early '88. I've never seen this parody before, but I assume that, since it's late 80s Nickelodeon and they renamed Emperor Aton to "Bernie Tanaka", it would've been riotously funny at the time.
-"Chief! Am I your little pogchamp?"
-"Huh? Oh, yeah sure, whatever man."
-Poor man just wants some praise. Must be a former gifted kid.
-Looks like Miho decided to go on.
-Here comes Sononi!
-Kill her.
-"I don't wanna stab my fiance!"
-"Do it, bitch boy!"
-Ooooooooh, girl bringin' out the shade.
-"In the name of my beloved Natsumi, the black dog will chomp down on the crane!"
-"Awwww, how cute! The doggo thinks he's gonna kill me!"
-Ah, right immortal. Don Clan has an annoying tendency to make their stuff TOO strong.
-I have to wonder just what goes through Momoko Arata's head whenever she's brought in for InuBro scenes.
-Ooooooh, Sononi. Having thoughts?
-Oh shit, Tsubasa's throwing down!
-Murasameeee!
-Thing I learned yesterday. Murasame is, naturally, a reference to Nanso Satomi Hakkenden, which was the name of a sword with the power to control the waters. It'd make sense he'd naturally gravitate towards somebody named Inuzuka.
-Ooooooooh, somebody's dead!
-Oooooooh, nooo!
-Sononiiiiii!
-Hello, Tarou!
-"Humans are delicate little creatures. Same things that make them laugh, make them cry. Something that you'd never get."
-Thank you, Crane Lady, for your... somewhat twisted affection for our kind.
-Ohhhhhh noo, here comes the wife guy.
-"Sononi. What the fuck, man?"
-Well, that's messed up.
-Ah, yep, Sonoi and Sonoza are here.
-"Get out, nerd!"
-YO WHAT THE FUCK GUYS?
-She's your homegirl! Your bestie! Your sister! The one woman who isn't either completely horrified and/or enraptured by your presence!
-"The dog man..."
-Oooooh, Tsuyoshi's about to kill someone.
-Genuinely.
-Ohhhhhh, she's becoming a hell of a lot like the Don Clan, huh?
-Sonoi, honey, I think you're projecting a little.
-Yeah, I knew you can't do it.
-You boys :)
-That's it, let your hearts make the decision.
-Inuzuka Tsubasa did wound somebody's heart.
-"What the fuck do I do...?"
-Oniga Parking Garage.
-It's time for a duel to the death.
-Kijino's having a serious fit.
-I guess their identities haven't registered yet to each other.
-Jesus Christ, this should be completely stupid and asinine, and yet...
-Sononiiiiii!
-And she's down!
-Even Kijino's horrified.
-Ah yep, praise man. Right on cue.
-Companion time!
-Avatar Change!
-Matsuri-da!
-LET'S FUCKING GO!
-Holy shit, Tarou
-He said a nice thing :)
-Sononi :(
-Oooooooh, I recognize this set up.
-It's identical to how Yuka died at the beginning of Faiz.
-C'mon girl, don't slip.
-Noooooooooo :(
-Nooooo
-KAITO YOU GOTTA HELP US MAN
-He's almost completely back at square one.
-Fuck, man...
-Hello, Auntie Yuriko.
-What's up, Haruka? I only mentioned you once the whole episode!
-Bedtime?
-Inuzuka Tsubasa! He was with us all along!
-Wanchan! Pupper!
-We're takin' it outta town!
-The sight of our next grand battle! Quite possibly our grandest contest of strength yet!
-S
-SONOGO AND SONOROKU
-Oh, everybody's together! Right after Tsubasa said he never wanted to see Sononi again.
-Two villages!
-A whole squad of assholes all ready to pound down!

Soul Strikers Precure: Meet the Cast
Here's a proper introduction to the first character introduced in this story. The dimension displaced body swap victim: Arya
Tumblr media
Full Name: Arya Sonata Pendragon
Species: Human/Dragon hybrid
Alias: Cure Specter
Home Dimension: Magix Earth
Height: 5ft 4 and a half
Theme Color: Royal Blue
Element: Magic
Symbol: Witch Star Symbol ( what her homeworld calls the symbol, known to us as a pentagram)
Family Members: Atticus (grandfather), Nami (mother), Arvis (father), [redacted], ([redacted])
Personality:
Being raised by her grandfather to have a "proper moral compass" (by her homeworld's standards) Arya is the type of person who treats others with respect and loyalty. The thing is, her form of expressing these traits are rather..... odd to the residents of Earth Prime (Spirou's Earth). For she displays it as if she was a knight from a fictional story (she calls herself a "knightly gentlelady".) Calling others Milord/Milady and pledging her own life and loyalty to said person.
But despite all of this, she is not somebody who has that much experience in having people who like her, much less respect her.
She is a hybrid of a human mage(mother) and a dragon (her father), so she's bullied by prejudiced high class families and many others because of her "tainted" heritage.
Things could have been worse for her if her grandfather wasn't a well respected man and veteran hero. But even so, they still treat her like a delinquent child.
As a result she has a deep desire to have friends. If one decides to befriend Arya... she's your loyal best friend for life and beyond(she would outright declare "You have a precious soul, you deserve to be loved and protected at all cost. So I have made my decision... LET ME BE YOUR KNIGHT AND COMPANION"). Resulting in Arya having an undying desire to protect her "greatest treasures" (Which includes her willingness to outright hurt, traumatize, or straight up SLAY those who she sees are cruel souls that have caused her friends to suffer because of their actions)
Despite presenting herself as a someone with a mischievous personality, knows how strong she is, won't waver in a battle, who has pride in her skills as a Precure who does her best to uphold her family's legacy.... she has extremely POOR self esteem. With the combination of her knightly personality, years of prejudice, and lack of experience in people being nice to her that aren't family members. It results in Arya viewing herself as a person who is of lesser value than a human because of her status as a hybrid. Making her desire to befriend her new teammates all the more greater. She sincerely hopes that they can stay in touch after the mission is over.
Skills and Strengths:
Her combat style is a combination of acrobatics that can be interpreted as "dance fighting" and intense brutality in which she increases her impact on the enemy by engulfing her punches and kicks with her own raw magic, as well as using energy blasts.
Her knowledge of controlling magic makes her a formidable opponent as well as a teacher for her less experienced teammates if her grandfather isn't available.
Being a Precure that fought solo for a bit longer than most beginners gives her a leg up over her newfound team
Her ability to see into a person's Soul allows her to see the current nature it presents and later on be able to see their true nature. As well as give a person a proper "reason why you suck speech" to get them to realize what they are doing to themselves and others.
Being half dragon also allows her to partially transform her body. Giving her horns, draconic wings, a tail, and the ability to breathe fire. Which she mostly uses for flight, rarely in combat.
Weaknesses:
Switching bodies with a full human comes with consequences (some she already had yet amplified, and a couple of new ones)
Same Soul Wrong Body: Since she swapped bodies with a human the body isn't able to handle the way she usually uses her powers. Which results in Arya's transformed state to be a risk to the immune system. Every time the transformation is undone she ends up getting a feaver. She constantly apologizes for this. She just doesn't want to be dead weight.
This is eventually is fixed with a morph device reminiscent of Power Rangers/Super Sentai. As well as having to constantly wear "Training Bracelets" that act as power inhibitors.... which embarrasses her to no end (ironically enough they look like normal bracelets)
"Grandpa.... please don't make me wear those again! Training Bracelets are for unexperianced kindergarteners. I'm not in kindergarten anymore!"
"Sorry kiddo but if you don't want to continue to constantly get fevers after battle, this is a necessary step to prevent overexertion."
"Fine... but I'm still not happy about this."
2. Body temperature: Not used to a human's natural body heat means only one thing: Arya constantly feels cold. Which results in her wearing oversized hoodies just to regain a sense of normalcy. As well as thriving in boiling temperatures. She has also messed with thermostats to near heatwave levels despite others getting overwhelmed by the heat. But when the hoodie isn't available... she gets sleepy, acts childish, and she gets clingy. Nobody's safe from becoming her human heater.
"Arya, please let me go. I have to get going."
*in a childish yet kinda cute tone* "Please don't leave me..... I hate being alone more than feeling cold..." *falls asleep*
3. Insecurity: Even after establishing bonds with her teammates, Arya still is full of self doubt. Fearing that one day they'll see the abomination she truly is and then they shun her. The innate desire she has for pleasing others also does not help matters. Which leaves her as someone who can be exploited by others easily.... civilians or villains....
4.Fish Out of Water: Arya being from a different Dimension results in her misinterpretations of Earth Prime's nature and customs. As well as weirding out the people around her saying things like:
"The Mana is barely used in this Dimension....if ever at all."
"You mean to tell me that you can't understand what your animal companions are trying to tell you?"
"What's a dinosaur? Are they your equivalent to dragons?"
She also is willing to ask afterwards if she ever does something unusual for the Dimension's norms:
"Did I do something wrong?"
"Um... I'm super confused right now..... help?"
