Song 4 U - Ayumi Hamasaki - The video I linked is precisely where I first heard it, and y’all... I fell in love. And then the game left me emotionally compromised. 😀

We Like To Party - Vengaboys - I have an extremely fond memory of playing far Cry 4 with my bestie, and we piled into a car, tore into outposts and took them all out while blasting this song in the background. 🤣🤣

5. One song with a production (the sounds, the beat, the mood) you love?

Go Tell Aunt Rhody - RE7 OST - I adore the concept of taking a familiar, mundane thing (like folk songs, nursery rhymes) and making them creepy. What Do We Do With a Drunken Whaler from the Dishonored OST is another fantastic example.

6. One song with perfect, amazing, outstanding lyrics?

Genjou Destruction - SPYAIR - I swear I’ve linked this song like 24985 times on this blog by this point. It just... resonates with me so fucking deeply.

Nyan Nyan Service Medley - Macross Frontier OST - The whole scene this song played during was cheesy as fuck, but I don’t care because I just don’t and it’s a gotdamn BOP do not @ me

N’sync - Pop - Shut UP this song is fucking great, meet me behind the bleachers if u wanna fight me on it

11. One song you would call a masterpiece?

Ludwig, The Accursed & The Holy Blade - Bloodborne: Old Hunters OST - It’s technically two songs, but they’re weaved together into two phases of one boss fight, so IT COUNTS OK!!!!!!! But yes for me, this is EASILY the best song across every single one of their games, what it does, it does perfectly. The Accursed is unsettling and off kilter, and then Holy Blade intimidates you with power and presence and oh my god I’m nutting as we speak I cannot tell you how fucking hype this boss fight made me I was genuinely screaming it was perfect the boss fight was perfect Bloodborne was perfect and we will never have anything like it again hnknsdfjhklsdjhdsfklsdlkfhjsldhjkhjklsdfhj

Macross Music Appreciation Post~

I’ve seen three series at this point: 7, Frontier, and Δ (which I’m still watching but I’ve listened to all three Walküre Albums already)

Out of all the songs each series has to offer, here are my favorites:

Battle Anthems:

Macross 7: Holy Lonely Light

Used in easily the most epic scene in all 50+ episodes. The duet version is just that much cooler. I always thought they were saying “Holy Lonely Night”, though. Oh well.

Macross Frontier: LION

2nd OP, of course it’s gotta be awesome. Plus it was used this the amazing Nyan Nyan Service Medley, which honestly was an amazing final performance for Ranka and Sheryl.

Macross Δ: Bokura no Senjou

Such a freaking good battle anthem! LION is hard to beat but it’s very close to being my favorite of these three.

Favorites in General:

Macross 7: Totsugeki Love Heart

To be perfectly honest my favorite from M7 is Holy Lonely Light, so here’s my non-battle anthem favorite. 

Honorable Mentions: My Friends, Seventh Moon

Macross Frontier: What Bout My Star☆ 

Ranka version, because it’s just so cute and iconic Ranka. It fits her voice way better than Sheryl imo., although they sound amazing as a duet.

Macross  Δ: Ikenai Borderline

Easily my favorite song out of the three Walküre albums. Specifically, the Mikumo/Freyja duet version.

Honorable Mention: Rune ga Pikatto Hikattara
