EXHIBIT A, BAMBI's NAP:
¡! ❞ Heeseung and Aohi sat in their seats as they relaxed from performing their last show, to the back of them, Sunghoon and Jungwon entertained the camera that recorded their 'behind the scenes'.
Aohi ate her way into gaining more energy as she munched on ordered kimbap happily, her feet swinging together like a kid would with candy.
The video suddenly zooms into the munching girl, and Jungwon addresses her in the video.
(oh? what's going on in the background?)
"Heeseung-hyung is sleeping, while Aohi is eating.." Jungwon explains, pulling the camera from Sunghoon as he approaches the table, and the video is met with the scene of a sleeping Heeseung on Aohi's lap.
(he's knocked out cold ㅋㅋㅋ..)
"Hello.." Aohi spoke softly, covering her lips with her mouth as she still had some food in her mouth. She was a little shocked at the sudden arrival of her group members beside her, smiling nervously.
"Heeseung-hyung's absolutely knocked out..." Jungwon snickers, poking at the sleeping eldest on Aohi's lap. "We should draw on his face." Sunghoon suggests, instigating something he shouldn't, Jungwon agreeing.
(???)
"Aiya! Don't wake him!" Aohi whispered, slapping Jungwon's arm as she tries to protect the eldest ENHYPEN member from Sunghoon and Jungwon's terrorizing.
The two giggled like evil kids as Aohi continues to slap away the hands that kept trying to poke Heeseung, but she could only do much with one hand as the other was holding utensils to eat her food.
(protector mode on!)
"Eung..." Heeseung nods off in his sleep as his eyes slightly open at the commotion.
Aohi clicks her tongue when she realizes the two boys were successful at ruining the eldest's nap, she glares up at them, like a mother cat would to strays who nitpicked on her kittens.
Suddenly Jungwon and Sunghoon sweatdrops at Aohi's expression, they knew they went too far when Aohi clicks her tongue, a warning not to test her patience any further.
(Jungwon & Sunghoon: ^^")
"Ah, let's go bother someone else." The two troublemakers make a dash for it before Aohi could scold them or even think about getting angry at them, running off with their tails tucked between their legs.
The last of the clip shows Aohi in the background running her hand through Heeseung's hair, trying to lull him back to sleep.
A few seconds is shown to see Heeseung looking up at her with his sleepy bambi eyes, effectively getting her to smile.

EXHIBIT B, AOHI'S MINI GAMING LESSON:
¡! ❞ The vlog was supposed to be peaceful, Heeseung and Aohi decided to spend some time at a gaming cafe, the aoheung content was thriving and the gaming was a win streak all around.
Until it came to Valorant. Heeseung should've known they were going to be playing her favourite game, and with Ni-ki and Sunoo, no less.
See, Heeseung is good at games, don't get him wrong, but he's never played Valorant before.
(pew pew! Heeseung tries valorant!)
Now that he's being vlogged by Aohi and her gaming minions, his dignity as her boyfriend, the eldest of enhypen, AND as the main gamer of the group were all on the line.
"Hyung! Behind- behind!" Sunoo screeched as he watched Heeseung whiff his shots on to the enemy Reyna. Heeseung just puts his head in his hands as he laughs away his failure.
Aohi could be heard having an ugly laugh as she and Ni-ki watch from their own computers.
(Enhypen loses their first valorant game....)
"Aishhh... I can't teach this hyung!" Sunoo complains as he mirrors Heeseung's actions, a small pout on his face. "It's his first game! Cut him some slack!" Aohi spoke in between her laughs.
Aohi moves towards Heeseung's computer and fixes his settings, trying to give the deer-like member some comfort when playing. "Here, try my settings."
(Mother bat helps bambi!)
Heeseung fixes his posture in his chair as they queue another game, instantly being put into a swiftplay. "You should try Phoenix, oppa, you can heal." Aohi suggests, adjusting the headphones on her head.
"Eung.." Heeseung mumbled, picking a pepero stick from the various snacks they brought to munch on.
They lock in their characters, Sunoo locks in Gekko, wwhile Ri-ki and Aohi lock in Sage and Jett, and Heeseung takes Aohi's advice, locking Phoenix in.
(will this game be a win?)
"I got a kill!" Heeseung announces, a giddy grin on his face, and a compliment from Aohi follows. "Hyung, you're so lucky- Aohi-noona doesn't give me any whenever I clutch for her." Ri-ki complains from beside him.
"You're literally immortal, you don't need any more of an ego boost." Aohi replied, her gaze focused on her computer as she tries to kill off an enemy Yoru.
"Aohi! Heal me!" Sunoo spoke, a giggle leaving his lips when Aohi is stuck between two enemies and he watches from his screen as Aohi died healing Sunoo.
"Yah! You just watched me die!" Aohi complained, but at the end, laughing with Sunoo.
The quadruplet gaming group continued to play for a few more rounds, and it came to a 4-3 game, one more round to them for a win.
(Heeseung's the only one alive!)
Aohi groans as she's double peeked by the enemy Sage and Sova, pouting her lips as she watches Heeseung's play.
Ri-ki tries to scare away Heeseung's focus by jumping at him, getting complaints from the eldest as he tries to clutch the last round. "He's not going to get this-"
"Don't be so pessimistic!" Aohi quickly shuts Ri-ki's teasing down, the baby duck pouting in his seat in return.
Heeseung watches his map and his line of sight as the enemy Sage peeks him, giving him a free one vs. one to win. "Nice!" Sunoo and Aohi spoke, after he successfully downs her.
"Sova last elbow!" Ri-ki comms to him, out of his seat as he watches from Heeseung's own monitor.
(The valorant trio is quiet, watching bambi...)
Sova peeks Heeseung from his corner, and by a stroke of luck, Heeseung manages to flick a win for the trio. Sunoo and Aohi jump out of their chairs with a yell as Ri-ki holds his head in shock.
The victory screen is shown after Heeseung defuses the spike, Aohi taking it as an opportunity to shower the eldest in compliments.
"Daebak! I didn't think you would clutch since you're so new!" Aohi pats at the boy, him grinning at Aohi and absolutely relishing in her words. "Did I make you proud, batsy?" Heeseung grins as he asks for reassurance from their female member.
"Eung! Did so good!"
Heeseung turns evilly at Sunoo and Ri-ki, who looked at him with jealousy as Aohi continues to shower their bambi member with praises.
He almost had the feeling of blowing a raspberry at the younger members, but since he was so nice, he just turns to Aohi, happily sucking up to her.
It was a successful game for ENHYPEN.

EXHIBIT C, JAY's SMALL FASHION CRISIS:
¡! ❞ Jay was struggling to pick an outfit backstage for him to wear, complaining to a nonchalant Aohi who was doing a mukbang live on weverse for engenes.
“Oppa, how about this, why don’t you just wear something comfortable and cute at the same time?-“ Aohi chewed through her words, her chopsticks stuck into a ramyeon bowl.
(Aohi enjoying her ramyeon in the back ^^)
“Eung, you’re complaining about nothing..” Heeseung brought his two cents in, earning a ‘no one asked, hyung!’ From Jay.
Aohi turns to him, a tilt to her head. “Ah, you know what you should wear, oppa? That one pink cardigan everybody liked during the valentine’s live.” Aohi nodded her head, agreeing with her own opinion.
"Can we even wear the same outfits?" Jay grumbled, taking the pink cardigan out and patting it of imaginary dust, he tests the material to see if anything's wrong with it, before deeming it wearable.
"Jeongie, fast fashion is overrated, wear the same outfit because it's not like they'll care much!" Aohi whines, annoyed at being unable to eat her food in peace.
Jay turns to the dressing room, closing the door so he could change. With this, Aohi returns to her food, which has cooled down as she spoke to her fashionista boyfriend.
"Do you see this, engenes? They won't leave me alone, ever!" Aohi spoke towards the camera, a small playful eyeroll as she finally takes a bite of her ramyeon.
Aohi's food heaven only lasts for a few minutes as she is called by Jay again, this time, she still had ramyeon in her mouth, she couldn't even bite off before Jay called for her once again.
(fashion crisis Jay returns!!)
She turns with an eyebrow raised to look at Jay, who snorted at the way she looked, Aohi bites down on her ramyeon as she starts to scold Jay for laughing when he was bothering her first.
"Yah! Stop laughing at me! I'm hungry and you're taking away from my food time!" Aohi glared as she watched Jay double back in laughter. "I'm sorry!" Jay apologized behind his laughs.
"Go look for someone else to bother if you're gonna laugh like that!" Aohi snarked, completely over it as she returned her attention to her food once again, this time not listening to Jay's calls.
"Aohi-san..." Jay called sadly, trying to aegyo his way to get Aohi's gaze on him again. "It's pink or nothing, Park Jjongseong!" Aohi stood her ground, Heeseung laughing at Jay in the background.
Jay frowns at the call of his full name in front of engenes, he was being scolded in front of their fans!
(black cat sulking)
"Okay! okay!" Jay spoke, finally stopping his own rambling and sitting next to Aohi with a soft frown. The girl glances at Jay, continuing to speak to the engenes. "Anyways, Ri-ki's out with Jake-oppa and Sunghoon-oppa, so I'm hoping they bring me an ice cream or something-"
Que a sulking Jay laying over Aohi with a frown, "Yah! My hair's going to dip into my broth!"
_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
EXHIBIT D, JAY's BIRTHDAY LIVE:
¡! ❞ Jay sat in his seat his feet unable to still underneath the table. A small cat cake sat in front of him alongside black cat decorations. "Hello, everyone.." Jay greets the engenes with a gentle smile.
Despite it being his birthday today, he felt really sad since Aohi couldn't hang out with him, her saying something about a busy schedule.
And who wants to spend a birthday without their girlfriend?
(is our black cat sad? ㅎㅎㅎ)
"How was my day? Mm, really good, the members greeted me... Jungwon got me a gift-" Jay pulled the gift-bag from the side to show the camera. "Am I sad that Aohi didn't give me a gift?" Jay reads, his eyes widening for a fraction of a second.
"No! She's busy, so, I don't mind!"
(oh he's secretly sulking, definitely)
"Yah! It's my birthday, stop teasing me!" Jay scolds his live, a small frown on his face as the chat giggles over his annoyed features.
"It's okay because the other members and the staff did this for me so, I already got so much-" — "Aohi prepared this for you, not us."
Jay looked up at the staff, alarmed by what she said, "What?" He clarifies, wondering if what the staff said was right.
"Aohi baked the cake, and she put up the decorations, we just helped.." The staff behind the camera shrugged, and with the fact that Aohi set up the live for him, Jay couldn't hide his smile.
(his instant smile! too bright!)
All of the sudden, Jay was injected with a burst of energy as he happily looks around the setup, that he knew now, Aohi made, despite being busy, for him.
"Oh, well- Let's try the cake then!" Jay clapped his hands as he grabbed a pair of chopsticks off-screen, ready to taste the cake Aohi made, totally because he was hungry and not in any way because Aohi made his cake.
"ㅋㅋㅋ, you started to smile because you figured out Aohi set it up for you-" A staff teases Jay from behind, and he couldn't do anything but smile guiltily as he takes a bite of the cake. It was in his favourite flavour.
(happy cat =^∇^*)
"Aohi-ssi also got you a gift.."
"Where?! I'll open it now!"

EXHIBIT E, JAKE's LITTLE PREDICAMENT:
¡! ❞ Jake swore he didn't mean for it to happen! He was talking with engenes who went to the event and when he looked away, the whole group was gone!
Now he sat here, absolutely lost. Various cameras and photographers called for his name, trying to get pictures of the idol as he tried not to panic at being by himself.
Jake tried to look for any signs of Aohi or the other members through the crowd, smiling softly when engenes would call his name. People filmed his lost puppy expression, giggling over the puppy-like behaviour.
(poor puppy is lost!)
Aohi was on the other side of the room, talking to a few guests with Ri-ki by her side, the boy was tall, making sure to cover Aohi well like a bodyguard.
"Ah, yes, we received the glasses well! The bags they came in were gorgeous, and I'm glad you chose us to help sponsor gentle monster." Aohi spoke happily to a sponsor, still unaware of Jake's small predicament.
Aohi smiled for pictures as she took some with guests at the event, giggling and conversing without a care in the world, it was only then, Ri-ki approached her and bent down to her ear.
"Noona, Jake-hyung's missing.."
(alarmed mama cat!)
"Where?" Aohi turned quickly, almost gaining whiplash at how fast she turned around. "What do mean he's gone, I thought he was following us?" Aohi whispered back, looking amongst the crowds for the humanified golden retriever.
"I swear we should put a leash on him! I literally look away for a few seconds and he gets lost!" Aohi sighs, turning around to the guests and saying her goodbyes as she goes to look for their elder member.
Jungwon joins them a little later, confused on the searching gazes the two held. "What are we looking for?" Jungwon asked, his hands instantly placing themselves on Aohi's back.
"More like who..- ouch! Noona!"
"Jake's not with us, and I have his phone so I can't call him.." Aohi mutters, showing Jungwon the black Samsung in her hand. Ri-ki shrugged at Jungwon's gaze turning to him, as if he doesn't know where Jake went either.
"Go look for him outside by the tables, I'll go search for him in here, call me if you find him!" Aohi ordered, quickly separating from her other two members, looking around.
(Will they find him?)
After a few moments of looking around for her puppy boyfriend, she spots a familiar blue dress shirt sitting down by an empty table as he desperately scanned the crowd, she assumed for her or the other members.
(She found him!)
"Jaeyunie!" Aohi called out, quickly walking to his side. Jake turns to the side and finds Aohi approaching his side, and his hearts feel a little lighter, sighing in relief at the sight of his girlfriend.
"Batsy..." Jake softly called out, opening his arms for Aohi to fill with her figure as his arms tightly wrapped themselves around her waist. "Oppa, where were you? We were so worried.." Aohi frowned, running her hand through his hair.
"I was talking to engenes, when I turned back you guys were gone.." Jake looked up at Aohi, mirroring her frown, but to her, he just looked like a kicked puppy.
"You be careful next time, I don't want to be in trouble with management.." Aohi scolded gently, flicking his forehead as a punishment, earning a small 'ouch!' from the boy.
"Now let go of me, before people see..." Aohi whispers, tapping on his wrapped arms. "If you promise we cuddle later?" Jake whispers back.
"Aish.." Aohi scrunched her nose, nodding at his words, and only then did Jake let go of her.
(the things she does for her boys...)
_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
EXHIBIT F, JAKE"S FAILED PEPERO GIFT:
¡! ❞ "Aohi-ssi! Turn more to the side please!" The photographer called, gently urging her to turn to the left of her. Aohi obliges, giving her best smile.
The camera took a good video of Aohi posing for the photographer's camera, her familiar rockstar charm shining through her pictures.
It was the month of February, and with this month, comes a mountain of fanservice. In this case, Aohi and Xiulin's part of the valentine's day shoot.
(Waah! Aohi's so charming in school uniforms!)
Xiulin comes up to her with a soft smirk, Aohi takes notice of the girl's attire, instead of sporting a skirt like Aohi was, she wore pants and a uniform similar to the boys.
Aohi's jaw dropped, all the girl could express was betrayal. "Unnie! No fair, you get pants!" Aohi whined as soon as the shoot's been finished.
"Sucks to suck, Batsy." Xiulin teased, taking a lollipop, a supposed-to-be prop, and placed it in her mouth.
"Do you know how horrible this skirt is? It rides up like crazy!" Aohi huffs, crossing her arms as she is escorted off the set, presumably to relax. Xiulin shrugs and pulls her to the side of the camera, which were on both of them.
"Everyone, Aohi is complaining about wearing skirts rather than pants." Xiulin explains to the camera, letting Aohi defend herself for the engenes. "I hate skirts!" Aohi shakes her fists jokingly at the camera, Xiulin laughing with her.
Suddenly a puppy sneaks onto set with Aohi's favourite Pepero in hand, cookies-n'cream. Jake greets their staff politely, bowing and asking where Aohi was last.
He wanders the set, trying not to cause anything so that people wouldn't be disturbed while working. In the distance he spots Aohi and Xiulin, a small smile forming on his face.
(puppy spots relaxing cat!)
Jake maneuvers around staff to get to the girls, spotting the camera filming them, "Hello!" Jake greets the camera, his puppy smile instantly showing through.
"Jake-oppa, what are you doing here?" Aohi spoke in surprise, suddenly seeing him take a spot beside her and Xiulin. "I thought you had a separate shoot." Xiulin agreed, popping her lollipop out of her mouth.
"Aohi, this is for you, happy Pepero day!" Jake quickly pulled the box of Pepero out, smiling giddily when she gasps, taking the snack in her hand. "Thank you!"
Xiulin looks on the interaction with an unamused expression, not the slightest bit impressed at Jake's attempt at greeting Aohi with a singular box of Pepero.
(???)
"Why is it just one?" Xiulin asks, Jake immediately deadpanning towards Xiulin. "Xiulin." — "Jaeyun-hyung." Xiulin was afraid of no man!
"It's the thought that counts, unnie!" Aohi laughs as she watches Jake deflate at his failed attempt towards even using his hyung privileges into scaring Xiulin.
"So, do I think bigger than hyung too then?" Xiulin amusingly replies, nodding her head to now... noticeable basket of... Peperos... for Aohi, and what burns worse is that the tag obviously says from Xiulin-unnie.
(The EN- boys: 0 - Xiulin: 1)
Jake laughs his failure away as he squats down, his arms crossed as he rethinks his actions, he was just trying to impress his girlfriend by getting her, her favourite pepero!
"You'll get her next time, oppa..." Aohi attempts to console the sulking puppy on the floor as the camera captures everything, further embarrassing Jake even more.
Xiulin just walks away laughing, happily taking her win.

EXHBIT G, ENHYPEN GAINS A NEW MAKNAE:
¡! ❞ Aohi couldn't stop staring at Sunghoon after his haircut, could you really blame her? They made him so adorable, especially with his cute brown and white long-sleeve, it almost felt like ENHYPEN had gone through another addition as she watches Sunghoon look through his magazine with gusto.
(mama cat is so proud of her baby cat..)
Aohi smiles as Sunghoon laughs at something Jay said, feeling her cheeks hurt at how amused she was of Sunghoon, 'did his cheeks get fatter? He has such a cute baby-face.' Aohi thought in her head.
To engenes, this little moment could be taken as either, as a mama cat looking at her kitten with endearment, or a girl being charmed by Sunghoon's boyish charms.
Unfortunately for her, Xiulin was highly observant. "Aohi, why do you keep staring at Sunghoon-hyung like that?" She exposes the girl, who is startled by the sudden attention. Aohi looks around with widened eyes when she sees the boys looking up at her, including Sunghoon.
Aohi could only look at Sunghoon for a few moments before a guilty smile rises, and she covers it with her hand as she turns away, her shoulders shaking as if she was laughing.
(Is she laughing at sunghoon?)
"What?" Sunghoon asked, looking at her bewildered, looking at his outfit and wondering if there was something on him, put on by the boys or stuck on by staff.
Aohi struggles to explain as she waves her hand through her laughs, trying to regain composure. The boys soon join as Aohi further struggles to get a hold of herself.
Xiulin scoffs jokingly as Aohi hits the girls shoulder, as if it would stop her from laughing. "Yah! Don't hit me, I didn't do anything!" She holds Aohi's arm.
"I'm so sorry!" Aohi cried, wiping her tears with her finger as small whimpers of laughing left her lip. "Hoon-oppa just looked so cute, and I couldn't stop staring-"
"I was so embarrassed that someone noticed, that I laughed!" Aohi explained, a small giddy grin is left on her face.
The boys laughed, pushing Sunghoon around to tease him for being cute. "Ey... Aohi thinks you're so cute, aegyo, do aegyo!" Heeseung teased behind him, patting his shoulder with a smirk.
(teasing brothers and shy sunghoon~)
"Ah... stop!" Sunghoon spoke, smiling behind his hand as he tried to hide away from the camera. "Don't tease him!" Aohi laughed, trying to pry the other oppas off of Sunghoon.
"Aish, it's nothing to be embarrassed about, oppa." Aohi giggled, patting the boy's hair before ruffling it, and Sunghoon makes a move to pull at Aohi's hands, his fangs flashing as he grins.
"Ah! No!" Aohi yelped, trying to pull away as Sunghoon tries to get her out of her seat.
(taking you down with me!)
"Guys, the interview!" Xiulin reminded them with a laugh, and the boys sit up quickly, Sunghoon is quick to let go, the remnants of their antics was a toothy grin. "Sorry! I forgot there was an interview!" Aohi laughed.
Aohi readjusts herself onto the chair, making sure she looked nice, before resuming with the interview.
The group quickly adjusts back to being professional, looking through their own magazines as Aohi is caught glancing over at Sunghoon for the rest of the video.

EXHIBIT H, SUNGHOON IS NOT SLEEPING’S STRONGEST SOLDIER:
¡! ❞ Sunghoon hasn't been feeling the greatest, but he was subjected to a weverse live, so he couldn't rest yet. Sunghoon set up his phone, staff being by him to help place his phone into a holder.
"Can you get through thirty minutes, Sunghoon-ssi?" The staff asked, he looked towards them, debating whether or not to ask if he could cancel tonight's live.
Sunghoon then glances at the clock, it was five minutes until he had to start, and he knows some engenes probably anticipate a live to start. Sunghoon decides against disappointing their fans with no live, and stays quiet.
"Live starting!"
Sunghoon is alerted, trying not to doze off on the couch he sat on. The staff couldn't be even more worried that Sunghoon would fall asleep.
(Sleepy hoonie :( )
"Hi, Engenes!" Sunghoon softly greets, waving a tired arm at the camera, the comments filling up quickly. Sunghoon is energized for a little bit, trying to interact with fans to keep him from dozing off.
It helps for a little while, Sunghoon gets into a rhythm of asking questions to the live and answering a few questions as well.
"Where are the others?" Sunghoon reads, "The others are enjoying their free time before bed, Heeseung is gaming right now.." Sunghoon points behind him, trying to say that the eldest as rooming in the next hotel room to his.
"Aohi and Xiulin? I think they're having dinner, we shouldn't disturb them.." Sunghoon places a finger up to his lips, telling engenes to keep from bothering Aohi and Xiulin.
"Engene, what did you eat for dinner tonight?" Sunghoon yawns as soon as he asks that question, watching the chatroom zoom past with various questions, feeling his eyelids droop.
The staff member looked on with Sunghoon worriedly, they don't want to make any sign that they were in the room, and so their only bet was texting Aohi to come to the room, in case Sunghoon ends up falling asleep.
(Droop droop... eyelids are falling!)
Aohi manages to read the text on time, and she silently enters Sunghoon's and Jay's hotel room, seeing the youngest of the hyuppa line fighting for his life trying to stay awake.
She tiptoes to the scene, gently placing her hands on Sunghoon's shoulders, startling the boy awake for a little. "You scared me..." Aohi giggles at his reaction.
"Hello, engenes! How are we?" Aohi asks, walking around the couch to sit beside Sunghoon who honestly looked ready to let go and knock himself out.
(he can't hold on any longer..)
Aohi manages to get a few sentences out of Sunghoon, answering a few more questions before Aohi turns to Sunghoon, he looked desperate to just close his eyes.
"Want to sleep on my lap, oppa?" Aohi asked, patting her lap. Sunghoon looks to the staff member, who looked like she couldn't say no to Sunghoon's soft and tired pout.
The staff member allowed him to sleep, shooing him off with the flick of her hand as she went back on her phone, Sunghoon grinning happily at the greenlight to sleep.
"Sure, I need a nap.." Sunghoon jokes, even though it was true. Sunghoon lays on Aohi's lap, and instantly the girl's hand gravitates to his soft hair.
Aohi gently runs her fingers through the strands, her acrylic nails seems to lull Sunghoon to sleep. Soon enough, the chat was giggling over how Sunghoon quickly knocked out on Aohi's lap.
"Our penguin was really tired today, engenes.."
(sleep well, little penguin!)

EXHIBIT I, SUNOO’S EMOTIONAL MENT:
¡! ❞ Aohi’s favourite part of every concert is that everyone in the group gets to say something nice for the fans after the performance, and in this case, ENHYPEN had a concert in the Philippines, Aohi’s home.
Well, not that Japan isn’t her home either! She misses both homes just as much. Just, something about the air in the Philippines or just the memories that resurface when she steps back into the country makes her feel amazing.
Her favourite thing to do in the Philippines is obviously visit her old home while she has the time to do so, and it makes her happy that she could just relish in being home.
She wanted to mention that when she spoke, looking happily amongst the crowd of fans as each of the members did their moment of speaking, Jungwon going first.
“Aohi actually, speaks a lot about the Philippines,” Jungwon stops to let the translator do her job, “She gets really emotional when we get off the plane—“ Aohi pinches Jungwon gently, telling him to knock it off.
(fans awe at their playful banter..)
“It’s just a little nostalgic for me, that’s all!” The fans seem to scream encouragement to Aohi, she knows about how proud Filipino fans are of their celebrities internationally.
“I just have to say thank you, for letting us perform for you tonight, and we hope that you guys have a great experience, dancing and singing with us!” Jungwon bows as he finishes his ment, earning a gentle elbow from Aohi as she grins.
Jay seems to stop both of them by stepping in the middle, making Aohi pout now that she couldn’t annoy Jungwon, and vice versa.
(Enhypen’s cat line ㅋㅋㅋ)
“Sunoo-hyung, do you want to make a ment as well?” Jungwon spoke, tipping over to look at Sunoo from the end of the line.
Sunoo’s surprised for a little bit at the sudden mention, not having something in mind to talk about. “Ah? Ah!- Yes, uhm…”
Sunoo steps out, glancing towards Aohi, who discreetly sent him a thumbs up of encouragement.
"Well, I want to thank engenes for making the time to come see us..." Aohi claps along with the boys, who agree with Sunoo's words.
"and I'm really grateful that you guys could come to support us, even though we all have such busy lives, it means well that you guys make the time to show us your support, despite not knowing us well—"
Aohi puts her hand up to her lips as Sunoo's lips start to quiver, signaling, maybe a small emotional moment for the boy.
"Sunoo-hyung.. why're you crying?" Ri-ki spoke softly as Sunoo turns before he could even continue, trying to hand his hyung a towel to wipe his tears.
Aohi pouts softly at Sunoo's crying face, leaning back to see if he was okay, before she cuts the line and approached Sunoo with open arms, the boy instantly taking her hug.
"Aigoo-yah.... Sunoo-kun, crying already?" Aohi teased softly, and although Sunoo couldn't understand well, he laughed along with her words, knowing her intentions weren't ill.
"Sunoo-yah! You're just crying to get Aohi's attention!" Sunghoon tried to lighten the mood with the playful accusation, earning a 'no!' from said boy.
The other boys from the hyung line seemed to jump on the tease train as they try to back up Sunghoon, Sunoo smiling as he shook his head, the fans seem to scream in support of Sunghoon, as if trying to make Sunoo smile again.
"Yah! You T-types leave him alone!" Aohi shielded Sunoo from the hyung line, hugging him close and cradling his head with an angry pout, laughs could be heard from the crowd as Sunoo's is picked up by Aohi's mic.
(T-types ganging on the ENFP)
"Aish! We're supposed to be doing ments, get it together, kids!" Xiulin gently smacked Jay's and Heeseung's arms, inevitably ending the goofing session between the group members, a small aww resonated in the arena, enjoying the bickering between members.
Aohi smiled as the groups retained their line-up, but not before she pulls down her mic, covering Sunoo's mic, and putting her free hand up to whisper something in the boy's ear.
Sunoo smiled as he hears the words Aohi whispers, unable to keep his happiness to himself.
"Oppa, I'll be here whenever you cry, don't worry."

EXHIBIT J, SUNOO's DRESS UP:
¡! ❞ Sunoo and Jungwon were supposed to be the ones to take care of Jjaeyul and Ayun for the day, but in a last minute decision, Aohi was joining them.
Aohi and Sunoo stood together as Jungwon dribbled the stray basketball in the court. Aohi cheers when Jungwon gets it in, a huge smile on her face. "Waahhh, really good, wonie!"
(cheerleader batsy on call!)
Suddenly, a rumbling from behind the door is heard, and Jjaeyul and Ayun make their appearance, Aohi gasping as she made a wave at the kids, who also waved happily back.
"Hello!" Aohi greeted, bending down to get on the kids' level, Aohi was extremely great with kids, having two little siblings herself, she knew her ways around keeping toddlers happy.
The kids started to talk to the trio, trying to get comfortable with the presence of the new hyungs and unnie. "How old are you, unnie?" Jjaeyul asks, looking up at Aohi curiously. "How old am I? Unnie's twenty." Aohi explains, making a zero and a two with her fingers.
"What about the hyungs?" Jjaeyul asked, pointing at Jungwon and Sunoo, who were occupied with familiarizing themselves to Ayun.
Aohi gently takes Jjaeyul's hand in hers, making sure he doesn't point since it was awkward, "the hyung over there, Jungwon-hyung, is twenty, like me." Aohi points to her brown-haired boyfriend, who doesn't seem to hear Aohi talking about him.
Sunoo approaches the two, leaving Jungwon to play with Ayun at the moment. "Hi, Jjaeyul!" Sunoo cheerfully greets, squatting down to gently shake the toddler's hand.
"How old are you?" Jjaeyul is quick to investigate, looking at Sunoo with a curious look, same as Aohi. "Me? I'm twenty-one." Sunoo nods, and Jjaeyul is happy with his answer.
"You are one year older than Aohi-noona?" Jjaeyul asks, Sunoo nods to his questin. "Eung! Why?" Sunoo asks, "You like noona?" Jjaeyul asks, shocking Aohi and Sunoo, leading to a burst of laughter from the girl.
(Sunoo is exposed?!)
"I like Aohi, she is my group-mate." Sunoo replies, looking nervously at Jungwon and Aohi, Jungwon snorts as he overheard their conversation, and Aohi's losing it behind Sunoo.
"Ah... my mom's twenty-seven, and my dad is thirty!" Jjaeyul explains, absolutely oblivious to the reason why Aohi's dying of laughter and Jungwon was trying not to laugh from afar.
"Want to switch? I want to play with Jjaeyul.." Jungwon tries to salvage his hyung's dignity, switching from Jjaeyul to Ayun in hopes that Sunoo doesn't get asked anything embarrassing.
Aohi follows after Sunoo with a smile, shooting Jungwon a thankful glance, because if not for Jungwon switching, Jjaeyul was bound to ask another embarrassing question, and she wasn't sure she was going to survive another laughing attack.
(Jungwon switches teams, team sport!)
Aohi sits beside Sunoo as Ayun pulls out a small stylist kit, complete with nail polish and a working hairdryer. "Hi, Ayun!" Aohi greeted, an adoring smile on her face. Sunoo almost forgot why he was there for a moment, before following after Aohi's greeting.
"Let's paint some nails, Ayunnie!~" Aohi sing-songed, taking the bottle of yellow polish out of the bag, picking Ayun up and placing her in her lap as she puts her hands out, letting Ayun paint her bare nails.
"Waah, you're so good at this, Ayunnie~" Aohi encourages the little toddler in her lap, Sunoo watching with a soft smile from the side lines.
Despite Ayun's lack of perfection, Aohi is happy with her manicure from the little stylist.
(Aohi, Ayun's first satisfied customer!)
"You wanna do Sunoo-oppa's nails next?" Aohi asks, pointing at Sunoo, who nods, putting his hands out for Ayun to work on. The small girl was a little hesitant, before Aohi helps her to paint Sunoo's pinky.
"Wow, oppa looks so good in yellow, Ayun! Good job!" Aohi compliments, setting the stylist off in an energy boost as she's comfortable with continuing Sunoo's manicure.
"I love it, Ayun-ah! You did so well." Sunoo smiles down at his messily painted yellow nails, and stylist Ayun rummages in her bag to get her hairdryer, thinking of drying the polish.
"Are you going to dry our hands?" Aohi asks, pulling her hands back out for her to point her toy hairdryer on. "Woah! It actually works!" Sunoo spoke, placing his chin on Aohi's shoulder.
"Right? It's actually so cool, I might buy one for myself." Aohi jokes, letting Ayun finish her blow-drying service and looking at her now dry nails with a thankful smile. "Thank you, Ayunnie.." Aohi moves aside for Ayun to finish Sunoo's nails.
"Clip?" Ayun spoke, giving the clip to Aohi with one hand as she used her other to blow-dry Sunoo's nails. "For me?" Aohi clarified, pointing to herself, and when Ayun shakes her head, Aohi speaks again.
"For oppa?"
Ayun nods at her words, she was asking Aohi to put the clip on Sunoo since she had dry nails. "Ahh, I get it." Aohi turns to Sunoo as she fixes his hair for her to clip it nicely on Sunoo's head.
(dress-up victim #1, Kim Sunoo ㅋㅋㅋ)
Aohi giggles at the cute scene where Sunoo just has a plastic flower in his hair. "You look so pretty, oppa." Aohi teased, gently running his fingers through the side where the flower wasn't clipped.
Sunoo playfully rolls his eyes, turning to Ayun and leaning his head down, "Do you think I look pretty, Ayun-ah?" Sunoo grins when the toddler nods happily.
"Ayunnie, want to go inside so we can dress Sunoo-oppa in a princess dress?"
"No! The clip is enough!"

EXHIBIT K, JUNGWON’s FLOWER BOY ERA:
¡! ❞ Jungwon was supposed to go home after lunch, he was supposed to be at home, with Aohi preferably, and relaxing, maybe taking a nap with said girlfriend.
It didn’t seem like the case when the stylist brought on new clothes onto the set, matching clothes.
Aohi smiled at the pair of clothes, thinking it was adorable, she patted the fabric gently, looking over at Jungwon, who had furrowed eyebrows.
(angry cat)
‘Did he not like the outfits?..’ Aohi thought, dropping the fabric from her hands as she approached him. “Don’t like it?—“ Aohi asked, looking at the rack, then back at Jungwon.
“No… I just want to go home.” Jungwon replied, sighing, everyone around him could almost see a cat tail sway sadly while his ears folded down on himself.
“Ah…. Well! Tough it up, buttercup!” Aohi spoke in exaggerated English, patting the boy in the back in a loud manner.
“Ow!” Jungwon yelped as he rubbed his back, making Aohi laugh and rub his back.
“Are you guys done chatting over there yet?” The stylist spoke, looking over at the two cat-like members. “Eung! Coming!”
Aohi steps out of the dressing room, pulling at her skirt, despite it being over her knees. “I really hate skirts…” Aohi mumbled, scratching her head as she walks to the set of the last shoot (hopefully) of the day.
Jungwon’s sits by the stone cylinders by the set, waiting for Aohi so they could start their photoshoot.
He swings his legs around, a little stuck in his mind, whistling softly. “Jungwon-ssi!” The staff member called him over and Jungwon turns to the sound, Aohi had already been waiting for him with a pout.
Jungwon couldn’t help but smile at the pout, if he could, he would’ve already squished Aohi out of cuteness aggression.
(giddy cat ㅋㅋㅋ)
“We’re going to do the shoot in the flower field.” Aohi approached Jungwon and took his hand, and like it was reflex, she quickly intertwines her fingers with his.
To the staff, this was just natural group habits. If Aohi isn’t doing it, Sunghoon is to his other members, Jungwon does the same with Ri-ki like he’s a toddler about to get lost.
The photographer ushers the duo over, and Aohi is asked to sit down on the patch of grass. “Jungwon-ssi, I need you to lay on Aohi’s lap for this.”
Jungwon feels a little hesitant as Aohi grins, she was a naturally affectionate person, always locking pinkies with one of the boys, and if not, with Xiulin.
And since the boys and Aohi can barely show their affections without consequences, she takes what she can get, and one of her boyfriends laying on her lap? It’s practically a jackpot!
(happy aohi!)
Aohi pats her lap happily as Jungwon hesitates to lay down, fearing he might like it so much he wouldn’t want to leave her lap.
“Ey… how come Jungwon gets to lay on Aohi’s lap and I couldn’t even wrap my arm around her last time?” Jake complains from the side, a puppy-like pout.
“Shut it, dog-boy, they’re taking pictures right now.” Xiulin pulled Jake by the ear like a mother would. Jake let out yelps of complaint as he’s pulled away, Xiulin drowning out the boy’s cries.
(ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
Aohi laughs at the sight, and the photographer takes a picture, and he smiles at the result. “Keep that smile, Aohi-ssi!” The photographer encouraged.
Jungwon could feel his cheeks warm up the more he stayed laying on Aohi’s lap, and it takes everything in his power not to cover his face.
“Won-ah, you look so red!” Aohi laughed, looking down at her lap as Jungwon let out groans of complaint.
“Don’t announce it! I know!” Jungwon replied. Aohi giggled, and she glanced to the side, a small patch of beautiful flowers bloomed beside of them.
Aohi makes a move to pluck a few out, before gently placing it in Jungwon’s hair. She seemed to be in her own little world as she showered her boyfriend in the orange flowers.
The staff makes a move to get their attention, seeing Jungwon and Aohi only looking at each other, and they worry that they forgot that they were in a shoot.
“Aohi-ssi!—“ The staff called, but the photographer stops them, camera in hand. “Don’t, they look really natural, this is perfect..” The photographer whispered, making sure he doesn’t bother the moment the two shared.
Aohi looks up after a while, seeing that the photographer was taking photos without telling them, and her cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
“Were we still shooting?— I didn’t realize and I already covered Jungwon in flowers—“ Aohi looks down, and Jungwon’s hair was littered with a crown of flowers.
(Aohi’s flower boy..)
“We got our photos, Aohi-ssi, don’t worry!” The photographer reassures her, even walking up to her and showing her the shoots he had gotten.
“Wah! Jungwon-ah, you look so cute!”
_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
EXHIBIT L, THE STRAY CAT INCIDENT:
¡! ❞ See, when you put Aohi and Jungwon together, they’re the perfect cat duo. They’re both so cat-like that even Jay could sneeze at just the sight of them together.
The two didn’t mind being compared to cats though, because in all fairness they loved cats! Aohi even has some back home!
But they didn’t think it was so serious, especially on one night, where Jungwon and Aohi were making a secret vlog on their own.
“We’re going to get ice-cream, our manager doesn’t know we’re out to the convenience store—“ Aohi spoke softly, fixing her newly-cut bangs for their comeback.
“Aohi! Quickly!” Jungwon ushered as the two ran across the street, a laugh resonating from both of them.
Despite Jungwon’s leadership, with Aohi, it seemed that the girl resorted Jungwon to just a teenager doing teenager things.
(all for the ice cream?)
“Wah- I almost got ran over!-“ Aohi laughed, Jungwon scrunching his nose as he pushes against the girl’s head. “Don’t laugh about it, it was a serious situation!”
Aohi let out a yelp, rubbing the spot where Jungwon pushed. “This, engenes, is why Yang Jungwon is crazy.” Aohi points at Jungwon, who tries to grab the camera with a smile.
“Ah! No! Don’t take away my engenes!” Aohi cried out, running off where she ends up at the front of the No-staff ice cream store.
(arrived at your destination!)
“Won-ah, what are you getting?..” Aohi perched behind the boy, watching him look through the various kinds of ice cream. “Honestly I didn’t even know Korea had so much ice cream..” she mumbled.
“I’m going to get this ice cream!” Jungwon shows a strawberry Samanco to the camera. “Strawberry with chocolate!” Aohi recited a familiar sentence, pointing at the fish.
(Aohi’s aware of fandom jokes ㅋㅋㅋ)
“It doesn’t even have chocolate!” Jungwon laughed. “Still!” Aohi retorted, she hands off the camera to her boyfriend, wandering to look at the other types of ice creams the store had.
Jungwon points the camera at a shopping Aohi, an ice cream in hand. “Look how pretty she is, engenes.” He whispered to the camera, making sure the girl doesn’t hear.
“Aohi’s one of the prettiest girls in the world, don’t you all think?” Jungwon faces the camera, his lips curved in a cattish grin.
“Don’t think about marrying her though, she’s mine!” Jungwon joked, despite it actually being true, well— one in seventh of a fraction, true.
(Catwon protecting his cat wife)
“Wonnie, I’m done!” Aohi calls Jungwon over to the check-out machine, checking her ice-cream in. “You’re eating two?” Jungwon asked, seeing three ice-creams on the machine.
“I wanted to try the grape ice balls.” Aohi explained, showing him the package. Jungwon reads the content as he nods.
“Fair enough.” — “okay, I paid! Let’s go eat it at the park!” Aohi grabbed the bag and started to walk towards the door.
Jungwon walked faster in front of her to hold the door open. Anyone who watched the blog can see how Jungwon looked at Aohi like she was the love of his life.
Jungwon was always looking at Aohi that way, even if she doesn’t see it, and he can’t help it, even when the staff catch him.
Jungwon and Aohi continue to walk down the streets, and Aohi grabs for her screw-bar, opening it. “We’re not even at the park yet..”
“So? I have another one anyway, and i’m hungry!” Aohi took a small bite of her popsicle, Jungwon wincing.
“Doesn’t that hurt?”
Aohi only grins, “I don’t have weak teeth like you, Mr. Yang.” Aohi teased, poking the boy’s shoulder. “Nobody bites ice-cream, Aohi!” Jungwon retaliates, although it is playful.
“Whatever you say, Jungwon.” Aohi calls him by his name, earning a complaint. “Yah!”
“Shh! It’s a stray cat!” Aohi shushed, seeing a calico emerge from the parks’ bushes. Aohi made a small ‘spspsps’ sound, trying to lure it towards them.
The cat approached Aohi, sniffing at her hand, Aohi only started to rub the cat when it deemed her worthy.
“I’m still allergic, you know.” Jungwon spoke from beside her, distancing a step away from Aohi continued to pet it with Gusto.
“Oh You’re adorable! You’re such a cute boy!” Aohi cooed, the stray cat meowing happily in return. “I wish I could take you home.”
“Nuh uh, you have me and Jay-hyung at home.” Jungwon sounded very adamant at keeping the stray cat at the park.
“But!-“ — “Nope!”
(Catwon intimidated by stray cat getting cat wife’s affection)
She pouts, standing up from her squat as Jungwon ushered her over, the stray cat meowing at the sudden absence of Aohi.
“Here, I have sanitizer.” Jungwon pulls Aohi away from the stray cat, pulling his hand sanitizer from his pocket.
“Yah! No! Kitty!” Aohi whined as she’s pulled away from the stray cat, who meowed after her.
(Don’t go!!!)
The stray cat follows the two, as seen from behind the cat duo. “Engenes! I tell you, he’s crazy!” Aohi spoke into the camera, a frown on her face.
“Yah! Stop following us!” Jungwon pointed at the cat from behind him, a meow of defiance being heard.
“C’mere my cat prince!” Aohi cooed at the stray cat. “Save me from Jungwon!”
(I’ll save you, meow!~)
“Okay, blog over, Aohi’s picked me over a stray cat!” Jungwon called out, Aohi yelling ‘no!’. “You’re such a jealous guy, won-ah, it was a cute cat.” Aohi flicked Jungwon’s ear, scolding him for taking her away from the stray cat.
“I’m cuter!” Aohi laughs at this retaliation, patting the huffing Jungwon as he had a frown on his lips, a furrowed brow and his hands balled up.
“Okay, okay— don’t be angry!” Aohi salvaged what she could before Jungwon could lash his leader anger onto Aohi.
“You’re the cutest cat, obviously! You big baby!”

EXHIBIT M, RI-KI’s ANIMAL CROSSING EXPERIENCE:
¡! ❞ Ri-ki usually gamed when he got home from anything idol-related, and his favourite game to play was always roblox.
Don’t get Aohi wrong, roblox is a fun game, and she loves to somewhat… make fun of some kids (teenagers these days, huh?) but it gets boring sometimes.
And it’s not like they allow bullying on idol vlogs either, so they had to find a family-friendly game to play for their engenes!
So this was where Aohi tries to convince Ri-ki to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons with her.
“We can play minecraft—“ Ri-ki points to the Nintendo version of the block game, getting a complaint from Aohi.
“That’s literally Roblox but survival-based!” Aohi makes him put the packaging down, Ri-ki pouting his lips.
Aohi ignores the fact that it makes Ri-ki look like a little duckling as she scans through the games. “There’s nothing else to play! Let’s just get animal crossing and go!”
“No, please let’s look for something else!” Ri-ki begged, and it was like this for five minutes until Aohi grabs a game, specifically a Barbie game, and threatens the youngest with it.
“You either play this or animal crossing, our engenes are fine with whatever!” Aohi points the Barbie packaging at him, and he seems to sweat-drop.
(sulking duck)
“Okay, but I’m not going to like it.” Aohi turned her head to the other side, “you don’t have to like it, the engenes will enjoy it anyway.”
Ri-ki and Aohi soon get home from their nearest Game Woori, two staff members already waiting for them for the film.
“Ready? We have it all set up for you.” The staff member spoke, gently fixing Aohi’s hair with a clip. “Eung, ki-ah, hurry up!” She called from the bathroom, getting a response.
“I can’t rush going to the bathroom, you know that?” Ri-ki flicks Aohi’s nose, making her glare at him.
“I CaN’T RuSh goING to ThE BathrOOM, yoU KnoW That?” Aohi mocked, and Ri-ki stared, before he started to tickle her out of revenge. Aohi is quick to squeal as she shielded her sides.
“Stop it!” Aohi tried to defend herself, before the staff members broke up the two teens. “Noona started it!” Ri-ki pointed, a laugh leaving his lips when the staff members started to scold Aohi.
(Duck-ki remains victorious over bat-hi!)
“We’ll start soon, let’s get it running!” The staff member reminded, and Aohi actually started to take the vlog seriously.
“In three, two….” The staff used his hand to signal one, and the blog was off!
“Hello, engenes!” Aohi smiled and waved her hands towards the camera, Ri-ki joining with a smile of his own.
(naohi gaming session, start!)
“Ri-ki actually didn’t want to play animal crossing, and he actually wanted to play minecraft—“ Aohi spoke, turning her nintendo switch on, "But he's been playing roblox, and he needed a relaxing game."
"So, I already have my own island—" Aohi gets a complaint from the youngest, "How come you have an island already?—" Aohi clicks her tongue and turns to Ri-ki with an annoyed look.
"How much longer are you going to interrupt me?"
(Ri-ki sweat-drops...)
"Sorry, noona..." Ri-ki spoke from his seat, a giddy smile on his face when Aohi returns to her switch. "Anyways, we'll just set Ri-ki up, and then we can get him to start his island!"
Aohi and Ri-ki spent the next hour creating their islands, along with starting Ri-ki off, and Aohi is irked with his starter villagers, "Yah! No way you got Genji and Renee!" She looks at Ri-ki's switch with furrowed brows.
"Stay jealous!" Ri-ki laughed, pulling his switch away as Aohi pouted. "Whatever, just start your island already!"
The remaining time (edited by staff to be fifteen minutes most) ends with Ri-ki being forced to decorate his island by Aohi while she showed a tour of her own island.
"So, I kind of, tried to recreate my hometown back in Japan, thankfully there was a lot of items so I was able to—" Aohi is interrupted by a tap on the shoulder by Ri-ki.
“Noona, I finished.” Aohi looked at him with a blank look, it’s been twenty minutes. What could Ri-ki have possibly decorated in twenty minutes?
“What did you do?” Aohi cut straight to the chase, looking unamused, expecting a mess of random furniture strewn around the whole island.
“I did what you asked!” Ri-ki laughed, and Aohi wasn’t convinced. “You can’t of done much with twenty minutes.” Ri-ki just grinned and Aohi couldn’t feel any easier.
(mischievous grin ㅋㅋㅋ)
“Come visit, I’ll show you!”
Aohi prepared herself for the mess Ri-ki made, to her, it felt more like taking care of a toddler the way Ri-ki would do the childish things you’d see him do.
The switch started its transition while connecting her device to Ri-ki’s.
“Engenes, I’m really scared.” Aohi honestly stated, staring at the camera with a worried side eye.
(???)
“I haven’t even done anything?” Ri-ki complained, looking at her shocked. “That’s what makes it worse! You’re gonna do something!” Aohi whined, looking to the staff members for help as they stared back, shaking their head, amused.
“I actually did something nice though, really.” Ri-li greets Aohi’s avatar at the airport, “how do you get clothes like that?..” Ri-ki asked, looking at Aohi’s avatar, looking like her.
“Because I’m cool.” Aohi replied, “now show me what you did!”
Ri-ki runs through the island with Aohi, and as the girl continued to see more and more trees and natural land, Aohi starts to feel like she’s been bamboozled by Ri-ki.
“Did you lie to me?” — “no, just walk a little further!”
Aohi sighs and does what he says, walking up to find a small place where Ri-ki had made a small park like area, with a pond in the middle.
“Oh!- Wait!- you actually decorated something!” Aohi gasped, looking around at the flowers Ri-ki collected over his island. “Wah! It’s actually so pretty!”
(impressed bat-hi)
“Noona, read this part..” Ri-ki showed Aohi a sign at a bench by the middle of the park. “Why? What does it say?” Aohi’s avatar sits by the bench while she read the sign.
“‘Ri-ki loves Aohi-noona’—“ Aohi smiles as she reads the sign, feeling her cheeks warm at the digital confession.
Ri-ki smiles at Aohi’s blushing cheeks, and it takes him his entire patience and strength to not bring his hand up to pinch her cheek or smother her in a kiss.
“Yah!- corny, it’s so corny!” Aohi shooed it off by playfully scolding Ri-ki with his teenage confession, in animal crossing no less!
(duck-ki confession.. success??)
Ri-ki giggled as Aohi playfully hit him over the shoulder, telling him to knock it off— “Is that you saying no?” Ri-ki tilts his head.
Aohi takes this opportunity to look at the camera, “only Engenes have my heart!” She makes a heart shape with her hands, looking through the middle of it with a wink.
(heart attack!)
Ri-ki just smiles, knowing that behind this fan service, Aohi has long given her heart to him and his six hyungs.

EXHIBIT N, AOHI’s LITTLE DUCKLING:
¡! ❞ ENHYPEN was given a week off to relax, and what better way to spend it if not to a small vacation? Aohi, Xiulin and the boys were brought to a small vacation house, where they were to spend the entirety of the week!
The group decided to travel by car, four members in each, Aohi being the extra inside of the hyung line's car
Aohi buzzed in her car seat happily, currently the passenger princess in Heeseung's Chevrolet Camaro. The group was fairly quiet, the car being filled of Aohi's music.
Aohi looked out the window, humming along with Basics by Twice, blasting on her side of the car.
"Aohi-yah, I'm opening the window." Heeseung announced, looking to his safety mirror before rolling down the passenger window, Aohi squeals at the sudden brush of air from the slight opening.
"My hair!" Aohi complained, holding her pins in place. The hyung line laughs at Aohi's pout, watching her fix her hair. "You look fine." Jay spoke, fixing her strands from the backseat.
(hairstylist Jay to the rescue!)
Heeseung spoke a soft apology, his eyes on the road. Aohi ruffled in the passenger seat. "Oppa, you have the seat warmer so high, are you trying to cook my butt?" Aohi grumbled, turning down the heat as she leaned back.
"Sorry, sorry!" Heeseung replied, soon enough the car arrived to the small vacation house, it was a beach house!
"Wah! Look at the beach!" Aohi enthusiastically pointed out the window, Heeseung parked the car and unlocked his seatbelt, doing the same for Aohi as he opened his driver's door.
Heeseung jogged from one side to the other, opening the door for her. "Thanks, seungie-ah." Aohi spoke, grabbing her stuff and getting out of her passenger seat.
(Heeseung's passenger princess treatment..)
"Hyung, you don't do that for us!" Sunghoon laughed, getting out after Jay, who was busy grabbing their stuff from the trunk.
Heeseung just shrugged at Sunghoon, closing the door when Aohi has walked away. "You have hands." And with that reply, Sunghoon sulks.
Aohi approaches the beach house, Xiulin and Sunoo calling after her. "Batsy! Wait up!" Xiulin called out, jogging up to her as Aohi opened the clear glass door. "You two are so fast!" Sunoo complained, joining the girls.
"Just excited is all, sorry, Sunoo-oppa." Aohi walked into the living room, gasping at the pretty interior, "Wah! It has a sun-roof!" Aohi pointed up at the ceiling.
"Oh now, we definitely have to take photos!" Sunoo gasped, Aohi agreeing with a squeal, the two jumped for joy like two high-schoolers at the mere thought of getting the perfect golden photos.
(photogenic duo jumps for joy!)
"Noona," Ri-ki emerged from the front entrance of the home, making a bee-line for Aohi, who turned around at the sound of him. "What's up, Ri-ki-san?" She instantly opens her arms for Ri-ki, the youngest happily taking his spot.
"I want to sleep." Ri-ki's muffled voice spoke, the mic he wore rubbing against Aohi's sweater. "Then sleep, you big duck." Aohi retorted.
"Puma! I'm a puma!" Ri-ki complained, pulling away with a pout, and Aohi laughs at the youngest's sulking behaviour. "You're still a baby-duck, don't get me started."
"Go join the others, guys! I have to cook!" Jay spoke, bringing the last of the bags inside the home. "I want to help!" Aohi raised her hand, following a grocery carrying Jay into the kitchen.
The film-camera zoomed in on Ri-ki, who seemed contemplate where to go, before turning to the kitchen and following after Aohi.
(Duck-ki follows after mama bat..)
"Yah! Go outside, I can't have three in the kitchen!" Jay tried to shoo Ri-ki away as soon as he appears by the hall of the kitchen from the living room.
"Did you follow me, ki-ah?" Aohi giggled, washing her hands as Ri-ki sat by the table in the kitchen. "I won't be in your way hyung, don't worry."
Ri-ki watched as Jay glanced at him with a distrustful look, before setting up his workspace. "Oppa, which veggie did you want me to cut again?" Aohi dried her hands as she pulls out a cutting board from seemingly nowhere.
Ri-ki peers from behind her, curious of what she was doing. "The potatoes, garlic and then just pluck the greens." Jay gently places three potatoes on her board, handing her a peeler.
(ENHYPEN's personal chefs, Aohi and Jay!)
"Are you sure you want to just watch me? Sunghoon and Jake-oppa are going swimming." Aohi looked out the window of the beach house, seeing the two hyungs ruffling around the shallow part of the waters.
Ri-ki just shakes his head. "I'll join later, I want to watch noona." Jay makes a side-eye, "Just Aohi? What about me?" He asks with a raised eyebrow. "You're not pretty enough." Ri-ki shrugged, and Jay scoffs.
"Wow, don't eat my food anymore, you hear?" Aohi laughs at Jay's and Ri-ki's playful conflict.
"As in to say! Hyung, you're too masculine and you're handsome, you know?" Ri-ki makes a smooth save, hoping to keep his Chef Jay privilege.
"Uh huh, thought so.." Jay spoke.
The trio continued to silently work. Aohi peeling potatoes and then cutting them. She finishes by placing the cubed potatoes into cold water, making sure they don't bruise over.
"I'll do the garlic, just finish the greens and then you can go, okay?" Jay patted Aohi's head gently, making her lean into his hand. "Eung!"
Ri-ki watched the interaction with puckered lips and squinted eyes, as if like a jealous duckling. "Aohi-noona, me too! Give me a headpat!" Ri-ki ordered, leaving his seat to approach the girl who was washing greens.
"What? Why? You didn't do anything-" Aohi looked over her shoulder. "I want one, anyway!" Aohi let out a huff, looking down at her greens. "Go ask Jay-oppa! I'm doing something!"
Ri-ki frowns at this, "I want one from you though." And at this, Aohi clicks her tongue. "Okay, just, let me finish washing and plucking this, and if you can wait, I'll give you a headpat." She compromises.
Ri-ki seemed to smile, satisfied with the deal, nodding softly and sitting back down. "I don't know how you handle him, he's so scary especially with his height." Aohi snorts at Jay's words, pushing her hips into his.
"he's just a big duck, that's all. We're talking about the same boy who can't sleep in a bed without someone being in it." Aohi replies, looking behind her to see Ri-ki playing on his phone.
(Clingy duck waits patiently for Aohi ㅋㅋㅋ)
"I guess you're right.." Jay looked along with Aohi, before turning back to cutting the carrots. "It makes it less scarier when we know he follows you around so much." Aohi gives Jay a side eye, before looking at the camera set up in the kitchen with a 'is he serious?' look.
Soon enough, Aohi finished with her kitchen tasks, cleaning her space. "I'm going to go join the oppas for swimming, do you need any more help?" Ahi asks Jay, who was stirring pasta sauce in a pan. "No, go have fun, batsy." Jay ushered her.
Aohi nods and places her stuff away to join Xiulin and the others on the beach. Ri-ki finally looks up from his phone to see Aohi leaving, and he silently leaves along with her.
"Ri-ki, are you good with shrimp?- Ri-ki?" Jay seems to ask into the air, turning to see the youngest was gone. "Seriously? He followed after Aohi?"
"Noona.." Ri-ki called after her, Aohi jumping as she walked down the wooden porch, looking behind her with a look of surprise. "Yah! Did you just follow after me in silence? How long have you been behind me?"
Ri-ki stayed quiet, his lips in a slight pout. "You said you'd give me a pat." He points to his head. "Aish..." Aohi clicks her tongue.
"Here, c'mon." Aohi ushers with a sigh, urging him to lean down as the camera catches the pat on camera. "You and your headpats, eung? The boys can't get one without you getting one, huh?" Aohi spoke, making a 'tsk, tsk' sound.
"You still spoil me though." a sigh leaves Aohi.
"You're right..."

bonus! EXHBIT O, AOHI’s CASE OF THE CLINGIES!
¡! ❞ The TV closes with a click, Aohi yawning. "I didn't think the boys were so clingy, that there was a compilation." She looks up at Xiulin, who had an arm around Aohi.
The two cuddled on the couch late at night, the boys already sleeping in their own respective rooms.
"I don't know how you never notice it, they're so clingy, I can't even get close to you without them being asleep or on the other side of the country." Xiulin snorted, patting Aohi's head.
"I guess it just feels normal, I'm surprised the fans don't really connect the dots." Aohi shrugs, tightening her arms around Xiulin as the older girl hums.
"I think some fans have, but then again, them saying anything is a reach because we can't date our group members." Xiulin replied, glancing down at Aohi, who sleepily stared at her with a soft smile.
"Why aren't you clingy with me, unnie?" Aohi asked softly, her eyelids drooping at the midnight fatigue hitting her. Xiulin laughs quietly at her question, her hand running themselves in the girl's dyed hair.
Aohi hums, "Why're you laughing?" Xiulin shakes her head, "I don't need to be clingy because you already cling to me first." Xiulin smiled, she ruffles her hair last minute as Aohi pulls away with a grin.
"Then I'll stop depending on unnie!" Xiulin playfully scoffs at the bold statement. "I doubt you'll last before I break." Aohi whines at her words, Xiulin never letting her win their playful banter.
"One day, I'll win over your arguments, unnie.." Xiulin shakes her head, "Sure, you can dream about it tonight." Aohi groans at her words, rolling around, as if playfully annoyed with Xiulin's smart remarks.
"It's late, we should head to sleep." Xiulin starts to move from her spot. "Nuh uh, I'm too tired to move to the bedroom, let's just sleep here." Aohi yawns, further proving her point.
"You're right," Xiulin sighs and lays back down on their couch, and Aohi happily takes her spot next to Xiulin, squishing against each other to fit the small space.
Xiulin closes the few lights on with a remote, and a small bit of shuffling is heard, Aohi trying to get comfortable, the two girls laid in the dark for a bit, a yawn leaving Aohi.
"Goodnight, unnie." — "Goodnight, my babygirl."
"Unnie!" — "Sleep!"

Something was wrong. Not the kind of wrong that settled heavily in your gut and told you that you needed to remove yourself from the situation, but the kind that started as a small voice in your brain and morphed into something you thought about constantly. Which was strange to you. Promotions for Border: Day One were finally coming to an end and the preparations for your group’s next mini album had already begun, so while the stress of your job hadn’t fully gone away, you didn’t think it was the cause of your intuition going haywire
That feeling would only rear its ugly head where it was unwanted when you would watch them interact. Normally, when the male members of Enhypen spent time together, love was the only emotion you could sense. Fondness. Joy. Whatever you wanted to call it, it didn’t make you feel uneasy. But recently, when you saw Sunghoon and Jay together, a part of your mind related them to a ticking time bomb. The reason was unclear, but the way their eyes shined with a kind of passive aggressiveness when the other wasn’t looking and the fact that they had been only communicating with each other in short sentences since a week ago screamed unhealthy to you. After all, you had never seen them engage in what you assumed to be a fight. And since you were such a good girlfriend, you were going to stay out of it until Sunghoon said something to you.
Besides, resolving tensions was Jungwon’s job.
“I think you’ve developed a staring habit,” Sunoo said from beside you on the couch. You blinked away from the video game the eldest four of the group were playing on the TV.
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “What’d you mean?”
“What do you mean, ‘What do you mean’?” He continued eating the ice cream that had somehow found its way into your fridge one day. “I swear every time I look at you now you’re spacing out.”
Well, to be fair, you were trying to put the pieces of some kind of puzzle together. “I was just thinking–” you hesitated, but quickly concluded that if anyone would shut down your worries speedily, it would be Sunoo. You lowered your voice to a whisper, “Do you think Hoon and Jay-oppa are mad at each other?”
The two boys in question were sitting on the floor, a large amount of distance and Heeseung between them.
Sunoo didn’t say anything.
“Mmm… you know something, don’t you?” you giggled as he shrugged and took another bite from his dessert. “Tell meee,” you whined, throwing yourself onto Sunoo’s lap only for him to (somewhat) gently push you off and onto the floor.
The thud of your landing made seven other heads snap in your direction.
“Sunoo-ah did you just push my girlfriend off the couch?” Sunghoon asked, getting up quickly and taking the short five steps to your spot on the floor. You sat up easily and rubbed the back of your head to make sure nothing hurt.
The rest of your members were unsurprised when Sunghoon and you announced your relationship. Maybe you two hadn’t done the best job of hiding it, but you still thought that with the debut, they wouldn’t have noticed anything. Turns out the way Sunghoon looked at you, as if you hung the moon and stars, and how you had barely let him out of your grasp were clear indicators of your relationship. So after a few weeks of being together, and when you were sure you were never getting away from the honeymoon phase, the two of you had sat the rest of the members down only to be met with: “Oh we already knew.”
Sunghoon kneeled down next to you, one of his hands coming up to meet yours on the back of your head and the other wrapping around your waist. His fingers rubbed against the silky strands of your hair as he felt for any kind of forming bump.
“He didn’t push me that hard,” you reassured. “I’m fine. Promise.”
You tried to disregard the concerned looks and Heeseung’s request for he himself to look at your head. In an attempt to distract yourself, you took Sunghoon’s hand from the back of your hand and tenderly placed a kiss on his palm, then on the corner of his mouth after shifting onto your knees.
“M’ not a baby,” you said, ruffling his hair before sliding over to the base of the couch. Your feet crossed under you as you settled between Jay and Sunoo, who was still unphased on the sofa.
Riki scoffed from his spot on the furniture, in the far right corner, “Get a room!”
Sunghoon responded with a roll of his eyes.
He followed you to your new position on the floor, pushing at your legs so he could lay on his back between them. You complied, dropping them straight and letting him rest his head back on your stomach. Sunghoon at some point had gotten his controller back as well, and for a few minutes, there was silence apart from the shooting and violence of the video game.
The game was quick to become boring and you reached behind you, hand blindly searching for your phone. Thankfully, Sunoo placed the device right in your grip before you would’ve had to ask Sunghoon to sit up for you to look.
“Thanks, Sun,” you whispered to him and he smiled softly at you. When you turned your eyes away from him, glancing to your right, there was Jay. His jaw was set in a form that looked too tense to be comfortable and his knuckles white from holding onto the controller with a hand that was probably too tight.
Yeah, something was definitely wrong.
You felt something shift against your stomach and you looked down to realize that Sunghoon had been looking up at you. He had been watching you study one of his best friends who was sitting a little too close to you for him to not feel a bit antsy. A small grumble left him with a choice of words you couldn’t comprehend and then Sunghoon was forcing one of your hands into his luxurious-feeling locks. Out of instinct, you ran your fingernails along his scalp in an attempt to calm him down.
You had kept your interference between the male members and their conflicts to a minimum, in firm belief that they were mature enough to sort out their differences, but there was a part of you that kept tempting you to do something this time.
Rarely did they need help, and you figured that they wouldn’t ask for it unless it was absolutely necessary. In fact, they honestly might not ask for help at all, pride and ego being traits that were still overwhelmingly strong in their personalities. And while you didn’t want them to be angry at you for trying to extend an assisting hand, you didn’t want the people you loved fighting each other either. So, maybe you didn’t have to do anything. Asking wouldn’t hurt. That way, you would at least be aware of whatever was going on between the two boys. Then you would be able to decide what to do.
Nodding a bit to yourself, you twisted your head to be directed towards the elder male on your right. “After this round can you help me make some food?”
Jay’s eyes snapped over to you, and you were surprised at the sharpness they held. Was he angry at you too? Your confidence in your plan faltered at his reaction to your request. Subconsciously, you shrunk away from him, your eyes suddenly unable to meet his for more than a few seconds.
“Sorry, I was just hungry.”
Jay blinked slowly and tilted his head to the side as he went back to the game, “Of course, we can make something. Don’t apologize if you’re hungry.” Somehow that made you feel worse.
Sunghoon moved against your belly again, “Let me make something for you.” Normally, you would’ve gladly accepted the offer, but you felt as if you needed to talk to Jay. It was weird, you’d never played the mediator before. Usually, you would stand off to the side and watch everything unfold, only interjecting when necessary, but maybe it was time that you began trying to help your loved ones in more ways than one.
You smiled down at Sunghoon, his head pressing into the soft skin of your stomach as he craned his head back at you. “Thank you, Hoon, but I want an edible meal.”
“Yah, I can cook!” he pouted and you cooed at the cute expression. Your thumbs ran over the smooth expanse of his cheeks and he leaned into your touch.
Prickles of heat on the right side of your body began to rise and at the feeling, you glanced over your shoulder to find Jay staring at the two of you.
“Jay-oppa can make me something, Hoon.”
“Yeah, Hoon, let Jay-oppa make YN-ie something.” You didn’t like how he emphasized the two boys’ names. Especially with the way Sunghoon sharply tilted his head towards his elder. If you could’ve seen his eyes, you figured they would be burning with some kind of anger considering the way his muscles tensed.
For a moment, the only sounds that met your ears were the quiet conversation the other members were having, the TV in the background, and the video Sunoo was watching as he undoubtedly eavesdropped on the three of you.
“Mmm, okay,” Sunghoon sighed as he turned away from Jay, facing the television and placing his elbows on the outside of your legs. Harshly, he pulled your limbs closer to his sides with his arms and you almost yelped at the way your legs slid on the ground.
His thumbs rattled the buttons and joysticks with an alarming speed, “As long as I get to feed you when he’s done cooking, princess.”
Your face scrunched up in confusion and maybe a hint of disgust at his words. Feed you? What was he saying? Sunghoon was well aware of your love for your independence, and while you’d slowly been allowing him to take care of you in ways that you previously hadn’t wanted, he should’ve known that you could do basic human functions.
“What’re you…” you softly muttered to yourself, but ultimately gave up on your point. You cleared your throat quickly, shifting your attention back to Jay. “Do we still have stuff for bibimbap?”
“I don’t want bibimbap!” Jake cried from the other side of the room.
You laughed, “Then you don’t have to have any!”
“Yeah, I’m just making food for YN-ie and me to eat,” Jay added.
“And me,” Sunghoon said. You mentally cursed him. Of course, you loved the boy more than anything else in the world, but there shouldn’t have been a reason as to why he wasn’t letting you spend one-on-one time with another member. Especially not Jay.
The elder had been there for you as soon as Part 2 of I-Land began, almost acting as some sort of caregiver. Brother definitely wasn’t the right word, he was always too nice and a tad bit too nervous to engage in any sort of sibling-like banter. Friend for sure. He was always the one checking up on you after those first weeks, making sure you were tending to your needs and doing it for you if you admitted you hadn’t.
If Sunghoon should’ve had the most trust in any of the members for your well-being, it should’ve been Jay. But now he was engaging himself in every instance of alone time you had with Jay.
Your fingers stroked his face again, relishing in the warmth that radiated from his body, “Didn’t you just eat?”
He chuckled, “I’m always hungry.”
“Don’t they need you here to play the game?”
“I’m sure they’ll manage.” So he wasn’t going to relent this time. “It’s starting to sound like you don’t want to spend time with me!” Sunghoon teased playfully. You did your best to act like he hadn’t caught your plan of action to solve this cold war-esque fight.
Suddenly, your face felt warm. “Hoon, that’s not true. I don’t want you to overeat–”
“Wow,” Sunoo said from above you.
You glared at him from over your shoulder, “Hush.” The boy simply shrugged. “You know what, I actually can’t wait.” As gently and lovingly as you could manage, you lifted Sunghoon’s upper body off of you and laid him back on the ground as you stood up.
You offered a hand to Jay.
His dark eyes flickered between your outstretched palm and your boyfriend that was spread out on the tile, Sunghoon’s own eyes studying you as if you were some sort of goddess. It looked like he was thinking about something, but before you could try to deduce what, Jay’s rough palm slid into your hand as he got up.
Even when you tried to tug away, his fingers held your smaller ones tight.
“I was asking for your controller,” you muttered, taking the item from his other hand and tossing it to Sunoo. “Here, Sun, you play.”
Sunoo whined a bit, but made room in his hands for the device, balancing what little remained of his ice cream against the object. Sunghoon nudged your ankle with his hand and you instantly found him.
A soft smile was swift to grace your lips and his small grin matched yours.
“I love you,” you said and Jay moved behind you, pulling you towards the kitchen. A chorus of “I love you too” followed, Sunghoon yelling how your words were meant for him being the last thing you heard before you were left in mediocre silence with the older male in the kitchen.
For a while, nothing was said. Your throat felt clogged every time you thought you were finally going to say something. It was almost embarrassing how you couldn’t find the comfort that was usually there when you spoke to Jay. It had been routine for everything to be so easy between the two of you and you weren’t sure when that’d changed.
Silently, you slid into one of the chairs at the island that Jay was now using to prep your requested dish.
“Do you want to help?” he asked, beginning to prepare the rice. You shrugged and pulled the cutting board that he’d gotten out to your side of the island.
“If you need it so bad, sure.” He glanced at you from over his shoulder. Snarkily, you smiled at him. And as he got the package of shredded carrots out of the fridge, you began cutting up the cucumber.
Jay furrowed his eyebrows and leaned on the counter, “I’m not sure if I like that cutting technique you’re using.”
“I thought you wanted me to help,” you said, popping one of the slices into your mouth and chewing.
Jay slipped the cutting board away from you as quickly as you had taken it, “Sorry Kendall Jenner, but I don’t want you losing a finger.” You pouted at his words, face scrunching up as he voiced his playful doubt.
“Hey…” you whined as he gently took hold of the wrist of the hand that was holding the knife, taking the tool from you. “I’m never gonna get better at cooking if you don’t let me try!”
He chuckled at your reaction, chopping up the rest of the vegetable and handing you a few pieces as he did so. You ate them, but not without frowning at him as he gave you each one.
“Don’t need you hurting yourself though,” he explained. “And when I teach you to cook we would be making a nice meal. Something they would serve at an expensive restaurant.”
The thought of him instructing you, getting closer than he normally would, whispering to you as you both shared laughter made your face flush. The alarming sensation of butterflies in your gut suddenly rushed over you. It was a feeling that you only got with Sunghoon. A feeling that you were only supposed to get with Sunghoon. You brushed it off. You were thinking about Sunghoon, that was probably why you suddenly felt that good kind of nervousness. The one that was one of the many reasons that made you understand why being in love was so wonderful. Something that made life so enjoyable.
You did your best to smile, pushing down whatever had found its way into your gut.
“I don’t think I have the patience to work on something for that long.”
“Well, you do it every day. As your job, so the least you could do is spend some time with me.” One more cucumber. You took it halfheartedly.
“Yeah… I’m sorry I haven’t been hanging out with you guys as often as I used to but I’ve been trying to–”
“Be with Sunghoon,” Jay finished for you. As a response, you nodded. The timer for the rice went off, and Jay slowly spun around to get the food. The smell of comfort filled the space, and you sunk a bit into the hardness of your seat. “I just can’t believe that he thinks it’s okay for you to be with him 24/7 because you’re…”
He couldn’t even finish his sentence.
“Dating?”
“Yeah,” Jay agreed right away. You watched as he retrieved two bowls from one of the cupboards and began assembling the bibimbap for the two of you. After those words, it was easy to piece together that he was angry at Sunghoon because you’d been spending all of your free time with him. And honestly, that made you angry.
Of course you were going to spend time with your boyfriend. While you still wanted to keep your friendships with the rest of the members strong, you were going to prioritize the boy you were in love with because, well, you were in love with him.
You cleared your throat awkwardly, “Is that why you’ve been so passive-aggressive with him lately?” Jay said nothing as he moved to the end of the table to retrieve two pairs of chopsticks.
“Don’t worry about whatever small fight we’re having,” Jay said, giving you a close-lipped smile as he handed you the bowl of food that you’d been supposedly craving. “We’ll get past it soon. We’re just like brothers… and it’s a small misunderstanding.”
Gently, you blew on the food before you brought a mouthful to your lips, humming as you chewed. He was probably right. The boys had had small arguments and miscommunications before, and it never took them extremely long before they made up. They loved each other too much to fight for that long. And they probably already had separation anxiety from each other, like you did. You always felt guilty whenever you were mad at one of the other members. At first, anger would drive your actions and thoughts, but the culpability would never be far behind, and you were never able to hold a grudge or stay in a fight for more than two or three days.
Maybe you forgave people too easily, or maybe you just had the blessing of empathy.
“Well,” you started, stirring your food around with the metal chopsticks. “If there’s anything I can do, please let me know.” Jay grinned at you, his mouth full of the hot bibimbap.
“Just don’t forget about the rest of us, okay?” He reached over and instinctively, you leaned back, dodging his touch. “Relax, you have sauce on your mouth,” he laughed and you tried to do the same as he wiped the corner of your lips with his thumb. Something in your chest sped up.
Your shocked expression must’ve been extremely amusing to the older male because as he slipped the thumb with the gochujang sauce into his mouth, he couldn’t help but laugh again.

You shouldn’t have listened to Jay.
While he almost always knew what he was talking about, somehow having just a bit more wisdom than the rest of you and not hesitating to use it, apparently, he had no idea that this whole scenario was worse for Sunghoon. You had left the subject of his growing tensions with Jay to rest, figuring that you were doing the right thing by letting them fix things on their own. Especially after your interaction with Jay in the kitchen.
You had slowly begun returning to your old ways of spreading your time out equally with all of the members. Eating breakfast with all of them instead of hole-ing yourself up in your room with Sunghoon and going out with the members one-on-one. Not to say you were ignoring them in the first place, you still had been with them for the majority of your days, but having the opportunity to connect with them on a personal level again was making a part of you feel whole again. It was weird to think about. Your heart was already so full and content when you were with Sunghoon, and you knew that being with him was more than enough for your happiness. But that happiness increased tenfold with the rediscovered relationships of you and your other members.
You hadn’t even noticed that you’d somewhat been isolating yourself with Sunghoon.
But apparently, this sudden change in your everyday routine was enough to send him over the edge.
The two of you had yet to sleep in separate beds since you got together, and it had become a nightly ritual for the two of you to get ready for bed together. It was an intimate way to end the day and being with him calmed all of the worries and stresses that you’d dealt with for all of the hours that you’d been awake. Laughing with him was so easy and it was adorable the way he’d sit on the closed toilet while waiting for you to finish your skincare.
And as you both entered the bathroom, you found yourself repeating that same phrase that had become your mantra for the past week: something was wrong.
He was quiet as you slipped on your headband and he stayed that way as you brushed your teeth, waiting for you to spit in the sink so he would have the space to do so as well. You studied him as you stood straight, left hand holding your hair back so you wouldn’t get any toothpaste in it. Sunghoon’s face was devoid of any emotion. Blank. But his eyes held a kind of annoyance that you’d rarely noticed before.
His movements were sharp with agitation as he turned the water on to wash the brushes, and you didn’t miss how he bit the inside of his cheek. You gaped for words. The last thing you wanted to do was make him even angrier, and considering you had yet to see Sunghoon this angry without him even saying anything, you weren’t quite sure how to comfort him. You weren’t that great at comforting people in the first place. Once again, you never really knew what to say, but that was what worked so well with you and Sunghoon. He never knew what to say either. You would hold each other and only share words to explain after your severe emotions had passed like the worst of a storm.
This didn’t feel like that. It was almost as if he was waiting for you to say something, to provoke him. He’d been bottling up his frustration with the rest of your members for so long that he was ready to explode. And at that moment, you knew he wanted to explode at you.
“What’s wrong?” you finally asked, voice meek. No eye contact was made as Sunghoon sighed deeply, not even bothering to lift his head in your direction.
“Nothing.”
You wanted to groan, to roll your eyes at his stubbornness, but you reminded yourself to have patience or nothing good would come from this conversation. “That’s not true, Hoon… I love you and if something’s bothering you–”
“Do you?” You looked at the back of his head, face scrunching a bit in confusion. Before you could say anything he continued, “Still love me?”
“What?!” you half laughed, which you immediately regretted. “What is this nonsense? Why would I not love you, Hoon.”
His hands on the sink shook a bit and he closed his fingers around the edge to stop the jittering. “Why have you been– have been avoiding me all week?”
“I haven’t been avoiding you,” you instantly denied. “We’ve been doing everything we normally do–”
“No–” he cut himself off, clearing something in his throat and for a split second it almost sounded like he was choking down a sob. “We haven’t had a meal with just each other once. I don’t think we’ve had a conversation for this long since Sunday and do you remember that coffee date we were supposed to go on yesterday?”
Your heart dropped and the tears came almost instantaneously.
How could you have forgotten that?
“That’s what I thought,” Sunghoon laughed, sounding watery as he finally pushed himself away from the sink to face you. Your stomach was made of wet sand and you couldn’t bear to look at him. “And you skipped it–” he was blinking harshly now, one of his index fingers pointing at you. “To watch a movie with Jay.”
You were crying now, tears making little streams down your face and you reached for your boyfriend. He pushed your hands away quickly.
“Hoon at least let me apologize!”
“No! You don’t even deserve to be the one crying right now!” He was shouting now and the loud sounds made you shrink back from him. He didn’t even acknowledge it. “I’m the one that deserves to be upset! The guy that has a crush on my girlfriend convinced her that she was neglecting everyone else when she was just neglecting me!”
You shouldn’t have listened to Jay. He had lied to you.
“Sunghoon I didn’t know, please–” You tried to take hold of his face again but he caught your hands, refusing your touch again. “Jay doesn’t like me! And even if he did, I love you. Not him–”
“It doesn’t matter!” Your wrists shook with his movements. “It’s too late. I was stupid to think that I would get to have you to myself when you act like that all the time.”
“Act like what?” you spat at him. Your faces were inches apart now and you could see that a few trails of water had slipped from Sunghoon’s own beautiful eyes too. The urge to wipe them away and kiss his face almost overpowered your growing exasperation.
“Like you’re their girlfriend too! Like you would choose them over me!–”
“Sunghoon stop it!”
You tugged your hands away from him, fed up with how he wasn’t actually listening to what you had to say. An uncomfortable silence found its way into the bathroom like a ghost. Only then did you realize how quiet the rest of the dorm was too. Which meant that everyone had probably heard you and Sunghoon fighting. Great.
He huffed, irritation clear even in the small action.
“Have some respect.”
His shoulder hit yours as he pushed past you to the bathroom exit, swinging the door open without a second glance back. You could only listen as his footsteps made their way down the hallway and a door slammed loudly after they’d slowed to a stop.
You needed to get out.
In a much quieter fashion than Sunghoon, you slipped out of the bathroom and made a beeline for the exit. And to your confirmation, Heeseung, Jay, and Jake were sitting in the living room, not muttering a single word as you stormed past the room to the door. You didn’t even feel their eyes on you as you tossed on a random pair of slippers and tugged on a coat that probably wasn’t even yours.
“YN-ah, wait!–” one of them finally called, although you weren’t sure which one it was since you were outside in the cold before they could say anything else.
Something inside of you must’ve disconnected as you walked down the driveway and along the street, not sure where you were going, but it felt so good to be by yourself for once that you didn’t really care. But as you left the neighborhood and entered the portion of Seoul that was maybe a few miles away from the dorm, you were back to thinking.
And the question that stood out among the rest was: why was your best never enough? Why didn’t people understand that you were trying?
Then the sobbing started. Your hands gingerly found their way to your elbows as you hugged yourself to try and find some comfort in the cold weather. Part of your brain tried to alert you that you were an idol out in public with no bodyguards, crying and out after 9 p.m. on a Saturday, but your heart and eyes didn’t listen. Your steps had decreased in speed and you were now shuffling along the sidewalk.
Exhaustion wasn’t far behind you. The strength of which you’d been pouring your feelings out had taken a toll on you, and as you hiccuped for the final time, a headache settled in. And after that, reality followed.
Everyone was probably worried about where you had run off to. Considering you didn’t have a phone, they had no way of reaching you until you decided you wanted to go back to the dorm. Which, honestly, you didn’t have a problem with. While being comforted was always welcome and a majority of the time necessary to truly calm you down, you realized that this moment to yourself was another thing that’d been missing from your life for weeks. Your brain finally had a moment of silence for itself, and as the late January wind blew across your maskless face, the coolness was refreshing.
Alone time had always been important for you. For your social battery to recover, for you to feel like yourself, and for you to not lose your wits. But in this lifestyle you’d chosen, it was rare for you to be left by yourself. Your members often understood that you needed a second to breathe to function properly, but for the past week, you’d been so busy trying to give your attention back to them that you’d been ignoring your own needs.
If only you’d recognized that, maybe you wouldn’t have forgotten about your date with Sunghoon. Or you could’ve realized how everyone else was feeling.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a metal bench, devoid of any people. Your feet were tired as you brought yourself over to the seat and plopped down, muscles relaxing instantly at the chance for rest. The fresh air was doing wonders for you too. Focus was seeping back into your head and with each inhale and exhale, your headache began to dissipate. Gently, you closed your eyes, not even bothering to worry about if anyone saw you. A freshly debuted idol who already had a decent amount of fame, with dried tears on her cheeks sitting in the middle of a random strip of stores.
Naturally, after you’d taken yet another moment to cool off and regather your emotions, the first thing you thought about was Sunghoon.
Making up with him was the first thing you needed to do when you got back. Apologize for the mistake you’d made and hope that he would forgive you before you both went to bed angry at each other, which was something your mother had warned you to never do in a relationship. You knew that he was an understanding person who was truly sensitive deep down. Especially when it came to people he loved. Sunghoon’s first impulse was to protect. And that applied to both those he cared about and himself.
His lashing out at you was just one of his ingrained reactions to defend himself from hurt. And you hated that you had made him feel that way. You’d hurt him.
You also knew that you both were very mature people. After all, you had to be considering the industry you were in. Talking to him was often all he asked for. He didn’t need gifts or ornate gestures as an apology, just a way to speak about things so you both could understand what had happened and how to properly deal with it in the future.
This pondering had strangely made you feel a bit better. A small lightness in your chest made you feel hopeful that this would all be nothing but a story to laugh at within the next few days. Or probably weeks. This first fight was something you needed to be careful with until both you and Sunghoon had wholly moved on from it.
You had no idea how long you’d been gone, but you didn’t want to head back anytime soon. Nervousness or anxiety about seeing your boyfriend again wasn’t what kept you perched on the chilly iron of the bench. Rather, the opportunity for you to reconnect with yourself and be at peace–
“YN!”
That would’ve never lasted that long considering how you might as well have just run away.
“YN,” Jay repeated as the sound of his voice got closer. He sounded out of breath. Slowly, you opened your eyes back up.
Puffs of air left his mouth in clouds of steam, thanks to the below-freezing weather, and he had to take a moment to presumably calm his racing heart before he was in your personal space. His arms gripped you tightly, fingers digging into the skin of your waist as he buried his face in your neck. The angle was awkward, considering how he was bent over strangely to embrace your sitting figure, but he ignored the slight stiffness that came with it to hold you. To relieve himself that you were there and you were okay.
The best you could do with your arms pinned to your sides was clumsily pat his right hip.
When he pulled away, hands shifting to grip your biceps almost painfully, the worry in his deep brown eyes had become something more displeased. You were already predicting what scolding would leave him.
“What were you thinking?!” You simply blinked at him, vision flicking around his face, taking in his pink cheeks and slightly runny nose and irises filled with intenseness. Your lack of response only spurred him on further, “Leaving without saying where you were going, without any of us for protection, without saying if you’re okay–”
“I’m fine.”
“God, you have everyone worried sick! Jungwon-ie had to call Sejin-hyung and now, everyone’s out looking for you… You have to be more careful, you could’ve gotten mobbed or– or kidnapped or even killed!–”
“You sound like my father,” you pouted. He huffed out what must’ve been a fake laugh as he turned his head to the side for a split second before taking the spot next to you on the bench. “And I don’t think anyone is trying to kill me.”
Jay looked back at your face, “I want to kill you right now.” He pulled you into his side, tugging your head to the space between his neck and shoulder. “Don’t do that again or we’re gonna have to lock you up or something.”
His bad joke drew a small giggle out of you. You felt his tautness lessen at the sensation.
“I’m serious, YN,” he said and his tone reflected his words almost a little too perfectly. “We heard you fight with Sunghoon and you were clearly upset–”
“I’m fine,” you repeated, fighting against his hold as you tilted your head back to look at his face. “I just couldn’t stay in that house.”
He frowned. “You could’ve talked to us though,” he said, and the hurt he spoke with made your heart clench for the millionth time that night with contrition. “You can trust us with anything. The last thing I want you to do is feel uncomfortable around me.”
You decided to ignore the change of subjects.
“I don’t want to sound selfish, but I really couldn’t.” You sighed, weight releasing from your shoulders as you cuddled back into Jay’s side. His chin rested on your hair. “Not when you guys were what we fought about.”
A beat of silence. You were really getting tired of that.
“Sunghoon-ie’s a wreck,” Jay finally said.
You didn’t know what to say, “I am too.” At some point, your breathing pace had synced with his and you enjoyed the sensation of being so connected to someone. “I hate fighting with him more than anything, it's just– I don’t know, it just feels so wrong… Does that make sense?”
Jay nodded against the top of your head.
“I know the feeling.”
You hesitated before continuing, “Hoon said something…” You trailed off and Jay repositioned himself again, leaning the two of you further back on the bench. “Never mind.”
“What?” he pushed.
“He said something about you liking me.” And with that, the pressure of agitation grew in the body against you once more. Cautiously, you drew yourself away from Jay. He didn’t fight you.
Jay’s face was stoic and you struggled to read whatever emotion he was experiencing. “When I told you you didn’t have anything to worry about, I meant it,” he said plainly. Your nose wrinkled and your eyebrows drew together.
“What?–” But Jay was pulling out his phone, dialing what you assumed to be your manager and therefore, a car to take you both back to the dorm. You didn’t stop him, tired of the night you’d had and the wide range of emotions you’d been put through.
In mere seconds a black SUV pulled up in the street beside you. Jay got up first, offering you a hand and you took it, him helping you off the seat and over to the vehicle. He opened the door for you, and you muttered a small “Thanks” as you clambered inside.
The cushioned seat was welcome after sitting on the hard material of the bench for so long, but the way that no one said anything in the short ride back to the house wasn’t. That alone time and silence that you’d longed for earlier was now making you twitch with discomfort. Where was the Jay that joked with you? The one that made you feel so much like yourself? In the pale moonlight that shined in through the car windows, he looked princely despite the dark circles under his eyes and ruffled hair. He didn’t move his eyes from watching the scenery pass by outside and you concluded that he was in deep thought about something.
As the car pulled into the driveway, your manager in the front seat gave you one final warning about leaving the house unsupervised and left the conversation with a good night. You said nothing. Opening the car door with more strength than you probably should’ve you hoped out and slammed it behind you, not waiting for Jay as you stomped up to the front door. You weren’t sure when your anger had returned, but you took it out on the keypad of the dorm, Jay coming to watch you mess up the code twice due to your annoyance which only shortened your self-restraint. After the second time, he reached around you to enter the four numbers and opened the entry for you.
Six other bodies rushed to you when you walked past the threshold and your hands shot up to try and block your body from the impending embrace. The last thing you wanted at that moment was to be touched by more than one pair of hands. Thankfully, Jay came to your rescue for one last time that night.
“Give her some space,” he said, shooing Jungwon away from your left side. “Let her go see Sunghoon-ie.” The whisper was meant for just Heeseung, who’d been the one standing closest to the hallway that contained all of the bedrooms.
The eldest nodded. “He’s in your room,” Heeseung said.
“Thank you,” you offered delicately. “Good night.”
“Night.” He shuffled to the side and you walked past them without a second thought, the only thing on your mind being your boyfriend.
The sharpness of their gaze on your back prickled your nerves as you reached for the doorknob. Composure was something that lacked as you creaked the door open just enough for you to slip through, shutting it behind you swiftly.
Sunghoon was curled up on your bed, facing the wall and with the way his shoulders were heaving, you could tell he was crying. He looked like a small child. It made your heart ache.
You toed out of your shoes, having forgotten to take them off at the front door and softly, you tip-toed over to the bed.
“Hi, Hoon,” you said as gently as possible, sliding your right hand over his arm as you used the other to set yourself down on the small space left on the mattress.
His head snapped to look at you and to your confirmation, his eyes were red, tears still brimming on his waterline.
“YN-ie…” Your other hand found the side of his head as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. His bottom lip quivered, “I’m sorry.” And then it was his turn to sob as he pushed his head against your stomach. Sunghoon echoed the words again. Then again. Then again, like a mantra. All you could do was curl over him, pressing your lips against the back of his neck and whisper reassurances against his skin.
“Breathe, Hoon,” you said, trying to get him to settle down. “Breathe with me. Please.” And then you were breathing in slowly, counting to four, and then exhaling in the same way. On your fourth deep breath, your palm on his back rose in time with your own lungs. Eventually, his whimpers stopped.
Your crewneck was wet now, but you didn’t care. Having him here with you, in your arms again as you comforted him was the only thing you could concentrate on.
“I thought you weren’t gonna come back,” Sunghoon finally said.
You cooed a bit at his words, “Nothing would stop me from coming back to you.”
His eyes peeked up at you from his place on your lap. And then in a blink, his forehead was against yours, his hands pulling you closer to his upright body, chest against chest. Sunghoon opened his mouth, getting ready to apologize. You kissed him before he could.
You were desperate as you both continued to pull each other as close as physically possible, tongues intertwining as a way of saying: “I’m here”. As much as you wanted to keep kissing him, there was no way you two could make up correctly if you did so. You pulled away to look at his puffy face, eyes and all. Your thumbs stroked the area under his lashes, wiping off the tears.
“Don’t you dare apologize.”
“I want to, though,” he said quickly. “I shouldn’t have yelled at you or– or said any of those words because I didn’t mean them and they didn’t help anything–”
“I forgive you,” you interjected. “I’m at fault too. I’m sorry that I didn’t notice how you were feeling, and I’m sorry that I forgot our date.” You both exchanged a weak laugh. “I didn’t mean to ignore you and I promise and I swear and I vow, cross my heart, all of it… That I won’t do it again.”
“I highly doubt that,” Sunghoon protested, but he was smiling softly. You adopted the same expression. “But I know that you’re going to do everything in your power to try and not to.”
You nodded furiously, “You’re going to get sick of me asking if you’ve gotten enough attention.”
He chuckled, “I’m sorry if I’ve been keeping you from spending time with the others. And I’m sorry that I made you feel bad about it.”
“We’re both trying to figure out relationships,” you said. “And how to balance them with our friendships… But we’re gonna work it out together.” Sunghoon stared at you intently, his whole attention on you as you spoke. “We aren’t done talking about this, but I am not mad at you.”
He cut you off, “I love you.” That last piece of concern in your emotions eased.
“I love you.”
Tumblr media
The next morning you and Sunghoon had spent quite a bit of time talking everything through. Him sharing his worries about his possessiveness and how to get better with it and you sharing how his words did hurt you, but understanding his point of view and how you weren’t completely innocent in the situation. By the time the group was ready to leave for Enhypen’s schedules for the day, you and Sunghoon had successfully made up from your first fight, and the rest of the members (apart from Jay) had given you a small scolding on how much you’d scared them the previous night.
The rest of the day was easy. Finally, you’d regained your attentiveness to the group’s preparation for both the last of the award show performances as well as already the next upcoming mini album. You’d felt like yourself again as you laughed with Sangmi and Riki during your dance practices and gladly took the spot next to Sunghoon during the meeting you’d had that day to discuss future content. It was the recurring theme for the week, you finding yourself again, but it was welcome. Strangely enough, you hadn’t even realized that you’d become the persona of “Just Sunghoon’s Girlfriend”. Fitting that side of you while maintaining all of your own hobbies and relationships was something you could now feel yourself getting better at. And it only made you more and more joyful.
Sunghoon was happier as well. It was easy to tell with how he was reaching for time with the others now, and with his growing ability to share his troubles with you. Despite the changes in your relationship with him, for the better, many of your old habits stayed. You both still went on multiple dates a week (at least one of them being at a café), spent the nights together, slept on each other during car rides… the list went on. So it wasn’t abnormal for the members to find you both curled around each other on the couch when your list of to-dos for the day had been completed.
You were relaxed into Sunghoon’s side, legs thrown over his lap and talking his ear off about some cartoon you used to watch when you were little that he’d never heard of when Jay came into the living room.
“YN-ie,” he said, interrupting your chattering and causing both you and your boyfriend to look over in his direction. Jay was standing next to the front door, parka on and a black beanie hiding the majority of his still bleach-blond hair. “D’you still wanna learn how to cook?”
You nudged Sunghoon’s head with your own and peered over at him. He was still smiling, not a hint of discomfort on his face as he bumped your head back.
“Go,” he whispered to you. “I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?”
“Jay-hyung, you're doing me a favor,” Sunghoon suddenly spoke up. “Maybe by the time you’re back she’ll be tired of talking about Gravity Falls.”
You gasped and smacked Sunghoon’s chest lightly, “I’d never get tired of talking about Gravity Falls.”
He grabbed the hand that had just hit him and stuck his tongue out at you. You used your free hand to try and swat at his face but he just barely dodged you, swiftly taking hold of your right hand too. Sunghoon puckered his lips at you, “Kiss.”
“No please?”
“Please?–”
“Oh my god, get a room,” Jay said from his spot by the entryway. At his words, you leaned over and gave Sunghoon a quick peck before you were clambering off his lap, Sunghoon yelling out in faux pain as you did so.
“Is the car already here?” you asked as you approached Jay, him already holding a coat open for you to put on.
You turned so your back was facing him, and he helped you pull on the outerwear. “Yeah, so say your goodbyes.”
“Does this cooking involve me never seeing anyone again?” you joked, tugging your hair free from the space between the coat and your neck. Both of the boys laughed.
“Depends on how long it takes us to get these groceries,” Jay responded, opening the door for you as you pulled on your shoes.
You sighed, “Okay, okay. Bye, Hoon! Love you!”
The phrase was repeated back to you as you and Jay exited the dorms. The ride to the store market Jay had picked out was shorter than you thought it’d be and before the two of you could get too deep into your conversation, he was already helping you out of the car and starting along the vendors, bodyguard following closely behind the two of you.
“What are we making?” you questioned after passing by a vendor that was making Odeng for a couple that was wearing matching jackets. The sight made you wonder if that’s what you and Jay looked like–a couple.
He interrupted your thoughts, “Atlang.” You furrowed your eyebrows as your mouth dropped open a bit.
“Fish egg soup?”
“Don’t give me that look,” he said, barely moving his eyes to look at you. “You’re acting like you don’t breathe and sleep sushi.”
He had a point there.
“So I’m guessing we’re here for the fish eggs,” you continued.
“The myeongnan–” you rolled your eyes a little at his fancy terms, “and the gochujang paste. We have the vegetables and spices at home–”
“On your left!”
You were in Jay’s arms before you could process something whirring past you in a blur. His jacket was plush and cold between your fingers as you gripped onto him tightly and you were grateful that you hadn’t tripped over your own feet and taken you both down to the cement. A dryness caught in your throat when you recognized how close Jay’s face was to yours. Your brain felt empty as you stared at his warm brown eyes that seemed strong and ever-growing–his attention focused on the scooter that had almost just run you over.
That sudden adrenaline that always came after a close call never appeared in your veins, though. Because the only thing you could sense as you pulled him closer, hanging on tight and taking in the woody perfume that he’d been using lately, was calmness. Centered. Security. Surprise, at the fact that you were feeling these things.
“Idiot. Who rides a scooter in the middle of a marketplace?– God…” And then he was looking at you and that calmness was replaced with a rush of dopamine and the adrenaline you’d been waiting for. “Are you okay?”
Your tongue barely darted out to wet your lips as you stared at his own.
“Mhm,” you softly hummed and you were back on your feet before you could finish the sentence and process what was happening.
“Good, let’s go.”
What? At his change in attitude, you felt out of breath. Nonetheless, you followed him.
The rest of the shopping trip flew by. As the two (three, bodyguard– duh) of you strolled along the stands and vendors, searching for what you needed, you couldn’t help but get distracted by some of the items. A necklace that you didn’t have the money with you to buy, a scarf that you would’ve loved to give your sister for Christmas, and some delicious-looking tteokbokki that Jay wouldn't let you get.
“You’ll ruin your dinner!”
“Please! I’m starving.”
“That’ll make this meal that much better!”
Begrudgingly, you’d given up on the street food and thankfully, not much longer after that, you’d found the last thing you were looking for. With the staff that’d come with you holding the bags, you whispered to Jay about how your feet hurt.
He squatted down almost instantly. Grinning widely, you’d climbed onto his back, wrapping your arms around his neck. But then his hands curled around the backs of your thighs and it was all you could think about. For the walk back to the car, his fingers digging into your skin and making you feel warm. In an attempt to hide your heated face, you hid it in his neck and somehow, Jay didn’t complain about how your breath tickled his skin.
Your mouth was so close to him. You wondered if he tasted as good as he smelled. If he would like it if you kissed that birthmark that was just under his jaw. That mark was so adorable–
Once again, your feet were being placed back on the pavement without you noticing it. Your hands moved slowly away from Jay’s neck, down his back a bit and then they were retracted immediately after you processed how inappropriate it was for you to be touching him like that. Especially when you had a boyfriend. Jay didn’t seem like he cared though, and if he did, he didn’t say anything.
He still opened the car door for you, helped you in, and made you laugh on the car ride back. Easing the thoughts you had of whether he saw how you’d been acting or not. It was almost happening unconsciously, the thoughts and longings that you usually only had with Sunghoon. And the guilt you felt about it was heavy, considering how Sunghoon had shown how bothered he was about you acting like a girlfriend to the other members. To your shared friends.
Everyone had apparently headed off to their respective rooms by the time you and Jay re-entered the dorms. Night had barely fallen so you figured that they were all taking a moment for themselves before you and Jay called them out for dinner. After removing your outerwear, Jay and you headed into the kitchen, him carrying the groceries as you slid along the tile in your fuzzy socks.
“Haul time!” you cheered, jumping around the edge of the island so you were on the side that was with the stove.
Jay chuckled, “First…” he took something out of the bag. “The gochujang paste!” You let out a small ‘yay’ as you took the container out of his hands, placing it on the counter. “And lastly…” he revealed the package of myeongnan!”
“Whoo!”
“‘Whoo’ is absolutely right,” he said as he joined you on your side of the room, opening the fridge to store the marinated pollack roe. “Everyone should be grateful that we’re making them such a high-quality meal tonight.”
“Maybe I’ll just watch you make it.”
Jokingly, you moved away from him, hands gliding behind you on the cool surface of the island. As expected, Jay’s fingers circled your wrists before you could get too far and you were being pulled back to him.
“Nice try,” he laughed and you frowned. “You’re a big girl and you can help me make dinner.”
Well, you weren’t going to argue with that. Especially when his voice sounded a bit deeper than it usually did.
Nervously, you separated your touch from his to tuck some of your hair behind your ear. “Fair enough. What do we start with?”
“Washing your hands,” Jay said, tilting his head back towards the sink as he moved to rummage through the cupboards for the utensils you’d be needing.
You nodded, “Makes sense.”
The hot water was borderline scalding on your hands, but at that point, you were willing to try anything to remove the electricity that Jay left behind on your skin.
Cooking when you were doing it right, and with someone who you enjoyed spending time with, was surprisingly easy. You had thought that it would require more precision, exact measurements and stirs and timeframes, but Jay made everything look so natural. He told you that almost everything could be done with your instincts and a little bit of guidance from the recipe and he was absolutely right. It was effortless to relax after you gained a bit more confidence in your movements and the jokes and conversation flowed as a harmony with the quiet background music Jay had turned on at some point.
Everything was done cooking sooner than you’d thought it’d be and you were almost disappointed that your time alone with the older male was almost up for the night. Trying not to dwell on the collapse of contentedness, you continued slowly chopping up the last of the vegetables that would go with the altang.
“Ah,” Jay said from behind you and you looked over your shoulder to see him approaching you. “That was the other thing I wanted to fix.”
“What part of me are you trying to fix?” You laughed.
He smiled as he shifted so he was standing directly behind you, “Your cutting skills.”
The hardness of his chest pressed against your back and your nerves seized and you dropped the knife onto the cutting board at the sudden closeness. Frozen was the only way to describe your movements as Jay silently reached his arm across your body, one hand delicately taking hold of your right hand to turn it over while the other retrieved the knife. Only his soft breathing was against your ears as he placed the handle back into your grasp, his fingers arranging your own to hold the blade in a certain way.
The rise and fall of your lungs slowed. You felt dizzy, like his nose brushing against the shell of your ear as he peered over your smaller frame was putting some kind of spell on you. Focusing on the task at hand felt impossible as he somehow got even closer, arms practically wrapped around you while he adjusted your other hand. His fingers looked so large compared to your own and the sight of him effortlessly bending your knuckles so you wouldn’t cut your fingertips off only intensified that dizziness.
Maybe this was too inappropriate for a girl who already had a boyfriend but at that moment you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. Your love for Sunghoon was so strong and you thought that there was no possible way it could’ve been matched, but there was something else growing in your heart that made those conclusions falter.
Jay had always been there for you, had always been the one to take care of you, and was the one noticing the things that no one else did. You’d always appreciated him, been grateful for the way he treated you like a princess, but you couldn’t help but recall recent times when he’d been a bit too assertive over others when it came to you. Him calling off the other boys when you ran out of water during practice, saying you would share with him. Him sending a glare to anyone who’d enter the beauty room while you were getting ready with him being the one keeping you company. Him indirectly trying to get you to spend less time with Sunghoon and more with the other members. Including Jay himself. Little things, but now, in this intimate position you couldn’t help but think they had a different meaning.
Overwhelmed, you set the knife down, Jay loosening his grip on you to let you do so safely.
“Jay…” Your whisper could barely be heard over the hushed music, but he still hummed after you said his name. Hip brushing against his, you carefully turned around. Jay’s hands didn’t move from around you, his hands resting on the edge of the counter. You were caged in against him.
His eyes were so pretty. You couldn’t read the look in them, your brain too cloudy and his intense stare almost made it impossible to maintain eye contact. But you might as well have been hypnotized. The brown of irises was so warm that you could only think of chocolate and how badly you wanted to drown in them.
You weren’t sure who kissed who first.
Jay could’ve leaned down or you could’ve risen on your toes but it didn’t matter because his lips were finally moving against your own.
It didn’t take long for his mouth to crash against yours and you think you might’ve whimpered as his tongue found its way between your lips. Subconsciously, her hands roamed under the hem of his shirt, discovering the firm muscles of his lower back as his tongue explored your mouth. It was a kiss that was meant for lovers behind locked doors, not in a dimly lit kitchen where anyone could walk in. Jay deepened the kiss even more, which you didn’t think was possible, and only then did you realize what you were doing.
Your hands that had been lovingly holding him to you were abruptly pulling him away from you, knowing that now he should be as far away from you as possible. Jay stumbled back at the tugging against his white t-shirt, hitting the edge of the stove and causing the pans placed on the border to clatter back towards the middle.
“Sorry! I’m sorry!” you gasped, hand shooting up to your mouth.
Jay shook his head, “No, it’s okay. I’m okay. Are you alright–”
Now your own head was moving side to side hard enough to cause a dull pain behind your skull. A tear fell despite you not even realizing that they had begun to well up.
The guilt that was creeping up inside of you made you feel physically ill, unlike anything you’d ever experienced before. You felt horrible, you were horrible. You were a horrible girlfriend. God, how could you keep making mistakes like this when Sunghoon…
“Sunghoon…” you sobbed, hand against your mouth shaking as you processed what you’d just done. Jay was instantly back at your side.
Softly, he took your hand in his and moved it away from your face, holding it in his. “Shh– shh… I’m sorry, I’m sorry. We can talk to him and explain–”
“Explain what?” you cried in a manner that was perhaps a bit too loud. “That I– I– cheated on him?” You couldn’t get enough air in your chest. You were going to puke. There was a steady thumping under your palm.
Jay lifted your hand to his chest, letting it rest on his heart and feel the slower pace at which he was breathing. “You need to breathe, YN, you’re having a panic attack.”
Closing your eyes, you let a trembling breath escape your lips. And as Jay’s chest rose, you took a deep breath and exhaled as he did so. Repeating the process was easy, but opening your eyes to Jay’s saddened face made your heartbreak and guilt build up all over again.
“I–”
“You guys okay? Thought I heard something break,” Heeseung said from the doorway. Neither of you said anything, Jay just kept looking at you as you turned your vision to the floor.
Clenching your fist tightly, you let the pain of your fingernails digging into your skin distract you from the pain in your heart and you cleared your throat. “Yeah, we’re fine. Dinner’s ready.”
You pushed away from Jay, wiping the water from your cheeks. Keeping your head down, you brushed past Heeseung, beelining for the bathroom you used most often since you figured that was the only place where no one would question why you were crying. You burst into the room quickly, shutting the door behind you as quietly as possible.
And for the next hour, you laid on the bathroom floor, the coolness of the tile on your face keeping you present. Keeping you thinking about how you hated yourself for kissing Jay. Hated yourself for liking it and loving him.
Tumblr media
All of the progress you’d made in your relationship with Sunghoon had been ruined in under five minutes. All of the self-love that was beginning to return to you had been ripped away the moment you’d decided to kiss Jay back. And if the avoiding you’d done with Sunghoon before you both got together was bad, the way you were avoiding Jay was borderline criminal. You’d thrown yourself fully into your relationship with Sunghoon, making up your mind about how if you gave him more love it would cancel out the tiny mistake you’d made. The huge mistake you’d made.
It had only been two days, but the time that’d passed felt like an eternity. There was no way you’d be able to keep your actions with Jay a secret for much longer. You told Sunghoon everything. He was your best friend, your person, and you rarely kept things from him. Usually when you messed up, you and he would be able to open up and share how you were feeling and how to make it better. But you knew that if he ever found out about this, he would never forgive you. It was wrong to keep something like this from him, but you didn’t want to lose him.
But you didn’t want to lose Jay in the process either.
And that was exactly what was happening. You liked to think that you took your time to process things and think your options through when really, you would put decisions off to avoid the consequences of them. Ignoring Jay almost every time he tried to speak with you and never allowing yourself to be alone in a room with him was hurting him. You could tell that much. With the way the shine that was in his eyes when he would see you would dim when you would pretend like you didn’t hear him. The way you’d stop coming to him for help with things. You knew you were making him feel unneeded and unwanted, but you couldn’t dare pick between the two boys.
Because you were in love with both of them.
The thought still didn’t seem morally correct to you, you weren’t sure if it would ever feel socially acceptable either, but it was true. Your coming to terms with your feelings for Jay were much different than your experience with the ones for Sunghoon. You weren’t able to embrace them fully in fear that both boys would leave you if you played your cards wrong or said something that would set them both off. And it didn’t help that they both had possessive tendencies.
So you turned to Sangmi, one of the only people you could trust with this information.
“You like both of them?” she’d asked, removing the sheet mask that you’d both been doing in the soft lighting of your guys’ room.
You nodded, “Love. I think I love both of them.”
She pursed her lips and puffed her cheeks out, focused on folding her mask. After a moment, she’d thrown it into the trash can, almost missing so the skincare hung over one of the sides of the gray plastic.
“I don’t know what to tell you, babe. I can’t say I’ve ever been in that position–”
“Just tell me what you would do.”
“But I can’t,” she had sighed. “Because we’re each our own person. Just because I would do something one way doesn’t mean you should do it as well.”
You whined and slumped over onto her lap. In a comforting manner, she threaded her fingers through your hair, scratching her nails lightly over your scalp. “I’m stuck! I don’t think I would be able to live without either of them…”
“First of all, you definitely would–” Your groan of annoyance cut her off and she giggled. “Second of all, from what you’ve told me, they love you too.” Her voice had gotten quiet. You straightened your spine back to an upright position and locked eyes with your best friend.
“You think so?”
Sangmi had hummed in agreement, “Talk with them. If they love you as much as you love them, then they would be willing to do anything to be with you. To make you happy.”
“Even sharing,” you sighed as you flipped around and rested back down on her folded legs. “That’s so much to ask of a man, though. One can’t even stay loyal to one girl most of the time.” Your hands flopped to your side. “How am I supposed to ask for so much from them? One girl and two guys? No way that could ever last.”
“Not with that mindset,” Sangmi laughed. Her face grew pensive and while you waited for her to continue, you stared at the white ceiling. “I think that you’ve always made love out to be trickier than it actually is–”
“But sometimes–”
“Sometimes there are exceptions, and this whole kiss thing with Jay-oppa might be one of them, but YN-ie–let yourself go for once.”
You looked down at your hands, folded over your chest, rising and falling as you breathed.
“I just feel like every time I do that I mess up.”
“You’re human. Humans mess up all the time but you’re never going to get anywhere if you don’t take a risk.”
You bit your lip, “Maybe you’re right.”
Sangmi shrugged, “I tend to be.”
“Or maybe you’re just feeding my delusions– Hey!” You squealed as she threw one of her pillows at your face.
“I’m never giving you advice again,” she said, sounding like a stressed mother. You giggled.
And now, swallowing your pride, your feet padded against the smooth tile of the living room as you approached Sunghoon after claiming that you were going to use the bathroom. When really, you’d spent a good four minutes in the space mentally preparing yourself for this difficult conversation.
“Hey,” you said, a smile on your face as you found your spot right next to him on the couch again.
Sunghoon turned off his phone, watching you approach him with his own dazed expression. “Hi. How was the bathroom?”
“As awesome as ever.” You sounded nervous. Nervous was an understatement. You were pretty sure you were shaking. “Um… I actually needed to talk to you about something that’s been– um, bothering me for a couple of days.”
Sunghoon’s eyebrows knitted together and he nodded slowly, “Yeah, what is it?”
“So…” you started, shifting onto your knees so you were closer to eye-level with him. “I’m not really sure how to say this but um… the other night, when Jay-oppa and I were cooking we… um…”
Sunghoon tilted his head to the side, narrowing his eyes a bit at you. “You what?”
“We kissed,” Jay said from the doorway, entering the conversation just like he did the night Sunghoon and you were speaking of.
Afraid, you glanced back at Jay, who looked angry, then at Sunghoon, whose face was blank. Your heart dropped. Their reactions were exactly the opposite of what you’d been hoping for. But they were exactly what you’d been expecting.
You waited for one of them to yell at you. To call you a horrible name and say you were disgusting. For Sunghoon to break up with you, for Jay to say he regretted ever kissing you, but neither of them said anything. And that only scared you more, but you had no idea what to say.
Finally, Sunghoon clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, and his eyes zoned in on Jay. Then he was standing up and your vision followed him, uncertain of what he was going to do.
“God, man, what do I have to do to get you to back the fuck off from my girlfriend?” He laughed bitterly and you felt frozen once again, just like you do in every conflicting situation.
Jay scoffed, eyes shooting back and forth between you and Sunghoon, “She kissed me back. And you know, I think she liked it.” The last part was a whisper and you couldn’t help but let your gaze fall to the floor as both boys let the sight of you looking pitiful on the couch be the center of their attention.
Embarrassed, you nodded.
“Well, then what do we do?” Sunghoon said, his anger creeping into his tone. “Because you’re clearly trying to ruin my relationship with her–”
“YN’s not completely innocent in this either!”
“I’m right here!” you yelled, fed up with how neither you nor Jay were refusing to take responsibility for the situation and for how Sunghoon wasn’t accepting that you cheated on him. “And if anything, this whole thing is my fault. Not yours.” You looked at Sunghoon as you also stood up, pushing away from the couch. “Or yours,” you said, eyeing Jay.
You blinked back tears, trying to remain strong.
“Because– because I’m in love with you both. And I feel disgusting saying it because you both deserve someone that will love you both how you deserve and–” Sunghoon’s arms were around you before you could finish your sentence. The only words you could repeat were “I’m sorry” as Sunghoon soothingly hushed you, hand resting at the back of your neck as he held you close to his chest.
You felt another pair of hands travel around your sides as Jay wrapped around you both, effectively surrounding you from every free space. Sunghoon’s cheek fell onto your head and Jay’s chin ended up on your left shoulder. Their scents, the warmth of their skin, and the feeling of their heartbeats was enough to ground you again and you found yourself calming down as you weakly encircled Sunghoon’s middle with your arms.
“Okay, I’m okay,” you said, getting a bit overwhelmed with the tightness you were enveloped in. Both of the boys backed away hesitatingly, and you took a spot on the couch again. Sunghoon followed suit quickly as Jay stood next to your side in front of the furniture.
“Sunghoon-ah, I’m not trying to destroy your relationship with YN-ie,” Jay confessed. “You’re important to her and… and you’re important to me too.”
With a confirming nod, Sunghoon accepted the elder’s words.
“I’m in love with her too,” Jay added and his words made your heart practically stop. Your eyes felt a bit too wide to be normal and he stared down at you with a small smile on his lips. “And I want what’s best for her and clearly, that’s you.”
“We shouldn’t have kissed, Hoon,” you joined in, turning to face your boyfriend. His elbows were resting on his knees as he took in what Jay and you had to say. “And I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you, and apologizing for not telling you about it right away, and I’m sorry I didn’t say that I was falling in love with Jay sooner because– I love you so so much.”
“I don’t know what to say,” Sunghoon admitted after you finished speaking. “I don’t think I’m really that mad, actually just more sad that you felt like you couldn’t tell me.”
Reaching for his left hand, you carefully took it into your own. “You mean so much to me, Hoon. I didn’t want to hurt you–”
“It does hurt,” he said and your bottom lip trembled a bit. “You aren’t forgiven yet, but I’m not going to break up with you.”
Hope lit through you, you could practically feel it seeping out of your pores. “Really?”
“I love you,” he said simply. “And I know you love me. But I know that you love Jay too–”
“I don’t want to make you uncomfortable,” you said, squeezing his hand tightly. “I’ll do whatever makes both of you happy.” Glancing back and forth between them, you continued, “If that’s not being with either of you, so be it–”
“Absolutely not,” Jay laughed. “Do you know how hard Hoon here had to work to get you to date him?”
Sunghoon sighed, “That’s not the point.” You stifle a giggle at the irritated look he sent Jay. “Let me finish. It’s going to take a lot of work, for me and Jay-hyung, but I’m okay with… I don’t wanna say sharing, that sounds wrong, but, if being with both of us is what you want…” he cocked his head to the side, eyes swimming with a varied mix of emotions. “Then I’m okay with it.”
“So what… You’re suggesting I date both of you?” you asked, eyebrows furrowing. Peering over your shoulder, you locked eyes with Jay, who also looked like he was in deep thought. “If you want to, Jay-oppa.”
A few seconds passed before Jay answered, “We’ll have to take things super slow. And Sunghoon-ie and I are gonna have to figure out how to get over our jealousy, but yeah. Let’s do it.”
You didn’t even try to hide how overjoyed you were, a grin proudly present on your face as you practically jumped on Sunghoon, peppering kisses all over his face. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I love you so so so so so–”
“Okay– okay! Calm down, princess, I love you too,” he chuckled. You pulled away, gazing sweetly at his eyes before leaning in to kiss him. Nothing deep, just a long peck on the lips before you withdrew from Sunghoon and turned to Jay.
“C’mere,” you said, reaching for him. He complied, smirking a bit as you tugged his face to yours, giving Jay his own peck on the lips. “I love you.”
Jay gave you a peck on your cheek, “I love you.”
“Okay, that’s enough for now,” Sunghoon said. His hands drew you back to his chest and tucking your head under his chin protectively.
“I don’t get to join in on the cuddles?”
“No. Just me. Remember you guys need to make it up to me for kissing before we agreed on… whatever this is.” Sunghoon’s hair was silk-like between your fingers as you twisted your arm up so you could play with his locks.
Laughing, you patted the spot next to you on the couch. “You can sit next to us, Jay. I’ll play with your hair too if you want me to.”
Jay seemed to brighten again. He was leading your hand to his head as he laid down on the cushions, head falling on your lap. Sunghoon complained a bit, but after a few kisses, he finally settled in.
You knew you all had a lot of work to do, but with both of them laughing and being there with you, that feeling of fullness–of being complete, you’d been searching for for so long returned. Permanently. Happiness would be easier every day as long as you had both of your boys by your side, just like this.

Tumblr media
valerie was anticipating that the seven boys would just barge into the dorms, so to her logical thinking, she somehow ended up in front of their dorm door. staring at the white empty wall.
and the perfect timing, hani proceeded to go to the convenience store leaving valerie all by herself. valerie curled up into a ball while staring at the door of the shared dorm, looking away for a tad bit until she would glance back sharply if she heard the slightest footstep.
valerie would wonder to herself, “what would hani do?” this was val’s mindset, she looked up to the older girl so whenever she didn’t know what to do, she would think what her practical sister would do.
valerie looked at the door once again, feeling disappointed, she stood up from the cold hard floor and gave up. “I guess they won’t be coming back any soon.” val landed on her feet and gained her balance again, she shook off the dust from her oversized hoodie and walked back to her room.
until… she had heard keys rattling and the door suddenly opening.
she gasped in a mix of excitement and uneasiness, running to the door and opening it. she stuck her head out of the door and saw not a single soul, was she that desperate to see another person she started hearing things?
valerie thought to herself, this time, she was greeted with disappointment actually. “you blew it val… they aren’t coming back right now…” she said to herself, until she heard footsteps behind her back.
she swiftly turned around…
and her eyes met with seven boys who had a cake, being held by heeseung reading out “we are glad your our member, val.”
“valerie!” heeseung smiled, showing her the cake. “thank you for being a good member to us for the past.. what… one week? I know things have been a little fast and we couldn’t get the opportunity to know each other more… but you’re someone who we know we can trust immediately ! thank you; thank you for keeping up with our idiotic and chaotic mess(es).” heeseung grinned like a little child, proud of what he said.
“valerieeeee !! we really think your the coolest member and we feel bad we couldn’t really talk to you and get to know you more despite the fact we were close with hani during I-land… your a great person and we hope you don’t really hate us because of how nonchalant you are sometimes.” jake beamed, but jungwon had elbowed him for the last sentence.
“thank you for being apart of our team, valerie.” jungwon gently handed the cake to the stunned girl that was cheesing so hard at the fact she realized how much they cared. “thank you guys. I didn’t realize you guys cared that much to get me a cake just because you noticed I was anti-social.”
“of course val, you're special to us— jay why the actual fuck are you crying?” sunghoon grinned ear to ear until his eyes landed on the sentimental jay who felt emotional after he heard everything heeseung and jake said.
“come on bro! men have emotions too…” jay wiped the tears flowing down his cheeks while everyone started laughing at his jokes, “yah! look at val noona! she’s gonna start crying! their faces are identical right now!” ni-ki pointed out. “riki! I’m gonna kill your japanese ass!” valerie chuckled.
heeseung was laughing a bit too much and next thing you know, he almost dropped the cake.
“HEESEUNG HYUNG! COME ON YOU SCARED THE HELL OUT OF US!”
“shut up! you try laughing while holding a cake..” heeseung pouted, defending himself. “hyung, by the sound your laughing, it doesn’t even sound like laughing anymore, your cackling.” ni-ki said, everyone realizing how heeseungs laugh sounded like a high pitched horse.
“YAH! RIKI-YAH!”
“jungwon’s been awfully quiet.” sunoo noticed while everyone turned to the leader, jungwon was zoning out until he realized all eyes were on him. “oh? what?” jungwon’s hand landed on his nape, confused on what was going on. “the guys on a different planet.” jake pointed at his boba eyes that looked like it had not a single thought behind those eyes.
“It’s kinda cute!” valerie pouted, showing them how cute his big eyes were and how they sparkled. “oh look at me val! I have them too!” jake widened his eyes and blinked x1000 times. “there’s a difference jake.”
“oh well thanks.”
“wait wheres hani?” jay asked in confusion, looking around the spacious room for the co-member. “she’s at the convenience store, she left awhile earlier.” valerie informed jay, and the guy made a “o” shaped mouth in realization. “definitely not. she’s dating someone.” sunoo said, gossiping.
“WHAT?”
the seven of them said in unison, obviously not informed. “isn’t it obvious?”
“she’s dating that anton guy from riize,” (let’s pretend riize was a group in 2020. 🫶) “wait… you guys didn’t notice? didn’t you see her always hang out in sm entertainment?” sunoo put a hand on his mouth, shocked that no one noticed.
“okay, this calls for gossip and movie time!” val announced and everyone agreed.
Tumblr media
by the time hani arrived, the seven of them confronted hani while sunoo watched from afar. alas, gaining a scolding from his noona since he had snitched to everyone in the group.
after the mayhem and mess that happened a few minutes ago, everyone in the group decided to sleep at val’s and hani’s room because it was the most spacious and biggest out of all 9 of them.
all of them were snuggled together in a shared couch, somehow, they agreed to watch a horror movie. after valerie prepped the popcorn, she was originally seated beside jake. but there was a vacant spot near sunoo so sunoo signaled her to go next to him.
val made her way to sunoo until she felt a gentle hand softly hold her hand, it was jake. “don’t try to go and leave me, val. you sat beside me first.” jake looked at her with pleading eyes that sparkled brightly. “please, you were mine first.”
valerie knew he meant that she was his first to sit beside next to, but the way he had worded it made valerie get a soft tingly feeling in her stomach.
“oh.. uhm okay.” valerie was skeptical, but jake had that golden retriever smile that made her feel at ease.
as soon as she sat down, jake laid his head on her shoulder. getting comfortable, trying to focus on the horror movie and not on valerie.
every time a scary part came on the scream, or when it wasn’t even scary, jake used it as an excuse to hold valeries hand. “your hands are soft.” jake whispered in her ear. “jake focus on the movie.” she sighed, getting irritated but nervous.
“how can i focus when there is something more important in front of me? god. your too pretty not to be focused on.” jake pouted, but val was surprised. “might as well go to sunoo.” she actually tried standing up, until jake hugged her in the back.
“sit back down. I’ll watch the movie calm down, just be beside me, poe.” jake said in english, his australian raspy accent tickled valerie’s brain, leading her to sit in defeat.
jake. you will be the death of song valerie.
Tumblr media

| : ̗̀➛ WARNING! How I write ENHYPEN is not meant to portray the idols irl, this is my au and I write this for fun. contains angst and a little bit of bickering/awkward tension.
Tumblr media
✧. ┊ Jungwon was always born to be a leader, unlike Aohi, who just followed the crowd, Jungwon was born to lead it.
When he was picked as the best candidate for ENHYPEN's leader role, he was overjoyed, of course, but a part of him also wondered if he was ready for that role.
Jungwon worked to his limit to make sure ENHYPEN was where they were now. Aohi and Xiulin... he was stumped on what to do, they were suddenly thrust upon his plate when he already had so much.
Jungwon had no idea how to lead the girls, he didn't go through I-LAND with them, nor did they meet long enough to help them....
so, he didn't.
For about a few months, that went excruciatingly slow by the way, Jungwon barely made the effort to even glance Aohi's and Xiulin's way, well, more Aohi's because he respects Xiulin as his elder sister.
At first, it was smooth sailing for Jungwon, it wasn't that hard to ignore Aohi or avoid her, but as time passed on, Jungwon didn't realize her cold attitude would sting, like being out during a snowfall and it got too cold that your hands would freeze, kind of sting.
Jungwon didn't think the glare Aohi would sometimes direct at him would bother him so much. Like, made his stomach turn kind of bother.
For one, it made him feel like he was a bad person. (he doesn't think he is, is he?)
Secondly, he hated to admit that maybe, just maybe he did deserve it, and he wasn't really living up to the leader name.
Jungwon knows Aohi and Xiulin are his group members now, hell, they're making their first album with the girls now!
As a leader, he was supposed to help the girls, especially when he needed to navigate this whole co-ed situation as well, but he didn't, and knowing that left an incredibly sour taste on the boy's tongue.
That's what brought us to Jungwon now, sitting in an empty meeting room, after a weekly... report? Status? whatever it was, had happened. The boy stared straight ahead at the table, seemingly burning a theoretical hole into the furniture.
He sat unmoving for a while, getting lost in his thoughts, you could say he got it from Sunghoon's morning spacing out routine.
It was only until a can was placed in front of his line of sight did his gaze change from the table, to the girl he was exactly thinking about.
"You stare at that spot any longer, you might've actually burnt a hole into the table."
Jungwon didn't respond, glancing up at Aohi's brown orbs, before looking back down at the can on the table. "What's the drink for?" Jungwon nudged towards the drink, as if scared to touch it.
"To drink? What else?" Aohi stated, sitting opposite of Jungwon, in which Jay sat in before her, so Aohi cringed slightly as she felt the warm seat.
Aohi seemed to magically produce another can of warm tea— Jungwon had analyzed, in front of him, opening it with one hand.
"The drink was Xiulin-unnie's." She hums, blowing inside her can to take her first sip, tasting the tea and nodding her head, outwardly approving the flavour.
"Why didn't you give it to her then?" Jungwon hesitantly took the drink off of the table. "Couldn't find her." Aohi shrugged.
Jungwon made no move to open his drink, sitting up in his chair. "Why're you here?" He asks, moving the metal can from one hand to the other, temporarily using it as a handwarmer.
Jungwon didn't seem to like the fact that Aohi was so close without any reasons to be, he had no idea why he was so alert around her either, as if two cats meeting on a territory and intimidating each other.
"Why can't I be? I'm sitting with one of my members, I don't see anything wrong with that." Aohi's eyes narrowed like that of a cat as she willingly made eye contact.
As the two cat-like members stared on, Jungwon could feel that grumbling feeling in his stomach once again as he didn't back down from the intense eye contact Aohi established.
"I didn't say anything was wrong with it, I mean that you don't really like us—"
"I like Ri-ki, so I don't think that I don't like my group members." Aohi's shrugged once again, "You look at us like we're the worst people on earth." Jungwon scoffed, already disliking Aohi's response.
"I don't know why you have to look for a reason for me to be here, I'm being nice—" Aohi grumbled, placing her drink on the table since she was an easily irritable person, and this conversation— is it still even a conversation? could end up firing her up even more.
"With a stare like that?" Jungwon raised his eyebrows, he'd never seen someone who was being nice have a stare that could probably kill.
"Gosh, why do you have to start a fight with me all of the time?!" Aohi stood from her seat, pointing at Jungwon with an accusatory finger.
"Because you have so much against my hyungs and I! You don't even know us," Jungwon stood up from his seat as well, pushing Aohi's finger away with the back of his hand. "You just decided we're not even worth being nice to!"
"Neither do you! I wasn't the first to be rude, it was the hyungs who looked at me and Xiulin-unnie like we were of no hope!" Aohi argued, her words were true, how could the young girl forget?
Xiulin-unnie had to learn everything for herself and Aohi, because Aohi was finishing her studies and had to miss most of their practices.
Aohi was only angry because she cared for her unnie, and a few months in living like that, Xiulin was already extremely exhausted, and Aohi couldn't do much to help her.
Aohi was frustrated, she only wanted the boys to help, not just Ri-ki, all of the boys.
"Well—" "I'm not done!" Jungwon was silenced by Aohi, taken aback by her sudden outburst, even if he wanted to, what Aohi said was true, they truly didn't think they could debut, not so late into ENHYPEN's career at least.
Still, how could Jungwon admit that?
"Xiulin-unnie and I needed help, and we couldn't even confide in our hyungs, much less our leader." Jungwon's throat dried at Aohi's words, not knowing how to respond to that.
In all honesty, he felt like he was slapped with a hot iron pan of truth.
"Sure, Jake-hyung barely tried to help us with our dance practices, but not before pointing out every little wrong thing from us." Aohi poked her finger to Jungwon's chest, hating the way he was silent.
It wasn't like Aohi didn't know that Jungwon was the type to lead, from just meeting him, you could already feel it. That's what makes it worse.
The girls— Aohi, needed someone to follow, because that's all she knew to do, and she hoped that there was a small chance, Jungwon, as the leader, would knock some sense into his group members and allow her and her unnie to have someone to follow.
Apparently it was too much to ask for.
"We didn't even know each other, and we just decided to hate each other... months straight, we'd barely interact, even when we started to record the album.." Aohi frowned, seeing that she'd stunned Jungwon into silence.
Aohi wasn't sure whether to continue after that, only sighing and sitting back down, taking her cup of warm tea, trying to drink the tension away.
Jungwon stayed standing up, thinking. Jungwon knows he was cruel, but he thought he was doing right, he followed his hyungs along as well.
He could remember his Heeseung-hyung telling him that the girls will not gain anything by being in ENHYPEN, that they should let it be for their own good.
Jungwon should've asked what Aohi and Xiulin's thoughts were, if they could really do it, if they were really willing. Maybe then, he could've helped them, give them a place in the group, rather than giving up on them from the start.
"...I'm sorry." Jungwon hesitated, sitting next to Aohi, rubbing the palms of his hands nervously.
"You're only apologizing because I told you—"
"You're right, but I really am sorry, I mean that from the bottom of my heart." Jungwon interrupted her, Aohi turns to Jungwon, looking at him with a skeptical look.
"I was stressed, and I know that it's not an excuse, because you and Xiulin-noona were also under a lot of pressure," Aohi didn't bother to try and intervene with Jungwon's ramblings, he seemed to have a lot to say.
"But let me try and make it up to you, and Xiulin-noona."
Aohi stayed silent for a few moments, thinking, if Jungwon was genuine, and he was serious about treating her and Xiulin like actual members, maybe...
"It's been months, Jungwon.." Aohi replied curtly, turning to the side, as if hesitant to even agree. "Then I'll make up for it for as long as you girls want."
"You—" Aohi tried to start, Jungwon shaking his head at her reply, "I will, as long as you don't look at me like that again. I'll change."
Tumblr media
And change, Jungwon did.
Aohi was taken aback the first time he did something for her, it was an interview, their first interview as a debuted co-ed group.
Aohi sat in one of the dressing rooms, spacing out on a make-up chair as the girls' own stylist worked her magic onto Aohi's newly dyed hair.
Xiulin and Aohi were successfully debuted into the group, despite the boys' hesitance, except Ri-ki and Jungwon, who happily congratulated the two girls.
Aohi remembers how much they had to handle on the first few days, the incorporation of Dark Moon, the making of their first co-ed album, it was a mess, and not to mention they barely had any breaks.
"Aohi-ssi, your make-up is done." Her stylist spoke, ushering her behind to start working on Xiulin next. Aohi stretched her arms in front of her as she sat on the couches, next to Ri-ki.
Ri-ki instantly turned to her, phone in hand to show whatever he was currently laughing at.
While the two teens giggled over whatever was on Ri-ki's screen, Jungwon approached the couch with drinks in hand, just like Aohi did, and for some reason, the leader of ENHYPEN disliked that their youngest was shoulder to shoulder with Aohi.
Without thinking any further, Jungwon pushed the two apart, Aohi looking startled at the sudden intrusion. Aohi looked up, seeing Jungwon looking down at her.
"I got you a drink, you have to stay hydrated." Jungwon took Aohi's hand and placed the cold drink, using his palm to curl her fingers over it.
Aohi's eyebrows just furrowed, glancing at Xiulin, who only stared from the mirror of the stylist chair in shock.
"Thanks, I guess.." Aohi mumbled, placing the drink on the table in front of the couch. Ri-ki didn't seem to notice, or suspect anything as he just returned to bumping shoulders with Aohi and looking at random videos.
Jungwon seemed to bite the inside of his cheek at the unsuccessful attempt at separating the two, wait— why was he even annoyed that they were so close to each other?
"Noona, are you going to drink that?" Ri-ki points to the drink Aohi had recently placed on the table.
"Why, are you thirsty, ki-yah?" Aohi hummed, grabbing the can, wiping the top and popping it open for the youngest to drink.
Jungwon stood behind them, a bit offended as he watched Aohi place the can to Ri-ki's lips, like a big 'screw you!' from Aohi to Jungwon as she gave Ri-ki the first sip of the drink he decided to kindly get for her.
"Good?" Aohi asks Ri-ki, grinning when he nods. "That's really good grape juice." He nods, wiping his lips with the back of his hand.
"here, you can have it."
Jungwon could hear his heart crack as he heard that from Aohi's lips, and Aohi heard clearly.
'You aren't gaining my forgiveness that easily..' She thinks, glancing at Jungwon, a slight mischievous smile on her face.
Since then, Jungwon had been... overbearingly kind to Aohi and Xiulin, as in... even sneaking in ordered food for them late at night. Jungwon was really determined to gain Aohi's forgiveness.
Jungwon had already earned Xiulin's respect, it's just Aohi being stubborn.
"Here..." Jungwon huffed, having ran a few floors down and back up to deliver the ordered food to the girls' dorms.
Aohi could only blurt out a small thanks before closing the door in front of their leader's face, stopping him from even saying anything.
Jungwon sat in front of their door for a bit, catching his breath, letting out a sigh before turning around, despite hearing muffled voices behind the door.
"Aohi! That was rude! You know he's still a member, he's stuck with us!" Xiulin whisper-yelled from beside her, opening the door as soon as it was closed. "Sorry, won, she's just hangry, have some with us." The older girl ushered, pulling a turned Jungwon inside.
"Unnie!" Aohi gasped, somewhat stomping her foot from the door and staring up at Jungwon with a frown. "Don't be like that, we ordered enough for an extra person." Xiulin scolded.
"I could've called Ri-ki..." Aohi grumbled, turning around and stomping into the kitchen. "You're not calling the youngest down for some fried chicken, Aohi." Xiulin retorted.
Jungwon stood by the entrance awkwardly, he was the first of the boys to even be in the girls' dorms. "Don't just stand there, go!" Aohi pointed to the living room, chopsticks and plates in her other hand.
Jungwon hesitantly approached the room, looking around curiously at the new environment, before sitting next to Xiulin, on their couch.
"I'm hungry, hurry up!" Xiulin whined from the living room, the TV still turned on, they seemed to be watching a random k-drama, obviously bored but not tired.
"Eung!" Aohi replied, sitting by the table in the middle of their living room as they started to open the food they ordered. Jungwon sat back with his hands on his lap, a bit nervous.
"Loosen up, won." Xiulin looked from behind her, Aohi placing a plate and chopsticks for Jungwon to use. The two girls were silent as they placed the food out.
"Looks so good... I'm literally about to devour everything." Xiulin let out a 'psh!' sound, bumping Aohi's leg with her own and gaining a protest from Aohi.
"I will enjoy this food.." The three recited, Jungwon slowly sliding into the middle of the two girls as they started to eat.
The trio ate silently, an occasional groan or dislike for any event that went on in their k-drama. "She's so fake for going back to her ex.." Aohi spoke, looking at the TV with a furrowed brow.
"Right? Like, if you're going to go back, don't do it in front of the boy who's liked you for forever.." Xiulin scoffed, taking a sip of her cider. Jungwon silently chewed from between them, just listening in.
Jungwon stared down at his plate, swallowing, 'ah... I need some pickled radish..' Jungwon looked for the container around the table, seeing it but... it was being guarded by Aohi.
Jungwon didn't want to ask Aohi, just watching the girl place another cube into her mouth. Xiulin glanced from beside her, seeing Jungwon eye the container.
"Yah, Jungwon wants some, don't finish it all." Xiulin spoke, nudging her head towards Aohi's direction.
Jungwon felt alarmed at the sudden call-out Xiulin made, jumping in his spot, "Ah— no, it's okay!—" Jungwon used his free hand to make a no motion.
Aohi stared at Jungwon, chopsticks in her mouth, before staring back to the TV. The younger boy felt a little awkward as the noise died down between both Aohi and Xiulin.
Aohi then stared down at the container of radishes, there was only five cubes left.. and she really liked the radishes, she glances at Jungwon, who seemed to have a bit of trouble eating the last of his bites, using cider to down it.
Jungwon grabbed the last bite of the boneless bites he was eating, getting ready to chew his way to a finished plate, unknowing to Aohi's gaze at his struggling figure.
In a small moment, Aohi made the decision to pick a cube up from the container with her chopsticks, before turning to Jungwon.. "Eung.." Aohi was feeding him a cube of radish.
Jungwon stopped mid-chew to stare at her like a deer in headlights, Xiulin was too busy being immersed in her digital show to even bother seeing the live-version play out right beside her.
'Did.. did she want to feed me?' Jungwon thought, looking at the radish before looking back up.
Aohi waited with a blank look on her face as Jungwon swallowed his bite, hesitantly coming forward as he used his teeth to bite the radish, so that his lips wouldn't touch her chopsticks.
Jungwon could feel the back of his neck warm slightly, trying to finish his food.
Ever since then, it was even more awkward between Aohi and Jungwon, the leader starting to practically follow the girl around like a cat does to his owner.
Aohi guessed he wasn't that bad, more so tolerable. Aohi didn't mind Jungwon that much, just thought it was a little tiring having to be followed around.
It's been almost eight months since Jungwon promised to change, and Aohi and Jungwon seemed to be... friends? Acquaintances? All the leader knew was that Aohi didn't avoid him anymore.
Aohi was secretly appreciative of Jungwon, he had helped plenty with her and Xiulin with coordinating their first album together, MANIFESTO.
Aohi and Xiulin learnt their roles in the dance pretty quickly, thanks to Ri-ki and Jungwon. Aohi started to find her confidence in being in the group, trying to find her dynamic, trying to fit in.
Aohi thought she was ready, actually. That she was perfectly in the spot she was. That was, until their first performance of their songs.
"Get her and Sunoo off-stage, quickly! Check on her, see if she broke or injured anything!" The staff ran around frantically behind stage, trying to close the lights to cover up the incident on-stage.
It was their first performance of their song, ParadoXXX Invasion, Aohi thought she was going to nail this first performance, she really did.
Aohi lost her footing half-way into the song, tripping onto Sunoo as the two came tumbling down. The lights dimmed as their fans gasped, murmuring at the sudden absence of lights on-stage.
Sunoo held Aohi stable as he winced, feeling a sting from his lower back from where he fell.
Aohi looked at Sunoo with teary eyes, shaking her head as a worried expression washed over her features.
"Sunoo-hyung... I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry- i didn't mean—" Aoihi whispered, wrapping her palm around her mic, just in case it was still on. Aohi didn't want the crowd hearing her lose her composure.
The whole group was ushered off-stage as Aohi couldn't even hold back her tears as she suddenly burst out in worry, and honestly, in fear.
The staff members had no idea how to comfort the overwhelmed girl. Aohi felt vulnerable at this moment, she felt more like Yoon Aohi, the seventeen-year-old girl who was a little too sensitive for her own good.
Xiulin could only usher her away from the eyes of the other members, letting out soft mantras of reassurance as they walked away. Ri-ki and Jungwon looked on in worry, being by Sunoo's side as the medic on seen checked on him.
"Go check if she's okay, I'm okay—" Sunoo grabbed Jungwon's arm, looking at him with a strained smile, knowing Jungwon's conflicted thoughts behind his eyes, of staying with his hyung, or going after Aohi.
Jungwon glanced up one more time from Sunoo to a fading Aohi, through the crowds, the boy could see glimpses of Aohi's face in her hands, her shoulders shaking.
In that moment, Jungwon didn't hesitate to follow after her, swerving through different staffs as his hyungs called for him.
Tumblr media
"I'll just leave you here, okay? I'll be right back... just stay here.." Xiulin softly spoke, rubbing Aohi's shoulder for a bit, leaving to go talk with staff.
Jungwon tailed after the girls, approaching the dressing room that Xiulin left. Jungwon stood in front of the door for a bit, hesitating to knock before he did.
Thankfully, he did manage to do it, cracking the door open soon after, entering with as little noise as possible.
Aohi looked up from her make-up stained hands, up at Jungwon. Aohi sniffled as she wondered why Jungwon was there.
Jungwon could feel his heart tighten at Aohi's tear-stained face. Her expression seemed to hurt even worse than all of those glares she shot his way in the past.
Jungwon never wants to see her cry like this again, he wouldn't be able to take it if he did.
"Aohi..." Jungwon calls out softly, approaching the couch as he attempted to sit down, placing a gentle hand on her arm.
Aohi quickly pulled her hand away before Jungwon could even wrap a finger, "Wag mo ako hawakan!— please!" (Don't try to hold me, please.)
Aohi sniffled as she scooted to the side of the couch, making space between her and Jungwon. he didn't know what she was asking of him, not understanding what she said.
Instead, Jungwon sat on the other side of the couch, hoping she just wanted space. Jungwon could feel his stomach spin in worry for Aohi, the last few months, spending time with her made it that way.
Despite Aohi's firm obstacles in the start, trying to push him away, they ended up becoming somewhat close.
"Why're you even here?.." Aohi sobbed.
"I wanted to know if you're okay.." Jungwon frowned, looking at Aohi, itching to bring her into his arms, itching to comfort her.
"Since when did you care?" Aohi spat, she seemed defensive, thoughts racing in her head, she wondered, if Jungwon as the leader, would scold her for being so careless.
Aohi was stressed enough as it was. Jungwon could see that.
"I've always cared, Aohi.. ever since then..." Jungwon whispered, inching closer, freezing when Aohi flinched at his sudden movement.
"Please don't push me away," Jungwon begged. "I'm not here to berate you, or scold you—"
"I don't need your pity!" Aohi cried, a sob following her words. Jungwon held grabbed Aohi's hand as she tried to stand.
"I'm not pitying you, Aohi! I genuinely care for you!" Jungwon begeed once more, keeping Aohi in place, her movements frantic.
Aohi had to admit, Jungwon was pretty strong and she had to scold herself for thinking such things in a situation like this. Aohi tried to pull her hands away from Jungwon when she was pulled into his chest.
Aohi gasped, struggling in his hold as Jungwon held her in place, whispering 'you're okay's and 'relax' in Aohi's ears as she sobbed even more, only grabbing onto his sweatshirt as she cried her teenage heart out into Jungwon's clothes.
"You made a mistake, and that's okay.. it happens.." Jungwon softly comforted the girl in his arms, his hand reaching up to pat the girl's head.
"I just ruined the performance.. I tripped Sunoo-hyung.. I hurt him—" Aohi sobbed out, Jungwon shaking his head with a soft laugh. "Aish... Aohi, you're thinking too much, Sunoo-hyung won't hate you for that."
"It's not just that!" Aohi cried out, Jungwon leans back from his hug, looking down at Aohi, who seemed to stare up at him, her eyes puffy and nose red, Jungwon was convinced he could've been looking at a scared bunny.
"Then what is it? Hm?"
Aohi sniffled for a bit, moving away from her embrace with Jungwon, "I hyped myself up so much for this album... I was so confident, Jungwon," She whimpered, using her arm to wipe her eyes.
"I thought I would be able to do the performance flawlessly. I just embarrassed us, maybe I'm really not meant to be in enhypen, won.."
Jungwon stays quiet at her words, Jungwon is reminded of their starting months, he wonders if he and his hyungs made that mindset for Aohi. Jungwon wonders if he did, he really thought he was cruel.
"Don't say that, you didn't do anything," Jungwon wanted to change those thoughts in the poor girl's head, it was the least he could do.
"You're a hard-working person, Aohi, and you made a mistake but don't think for one second that you don't belong with us because of it."
"...You mean it, won?" Aohi whispered, looking up at the taller boy. Jungwon looked down at her once again, he felt a bit stunned at how Aohi was fine with showing this vulnerable side to her, especially when he's always been avoided by her.
"With everything I have." Jungwon replied, just as soft.
The two continued to keep eye contact with each other, getting lost in each other's gazes. It was quiet in the dressing room, except for the rustling of Jungwon's hand rubbing at Aohi's palm and his rings clinking with hers.
Neither Jungwon or Aohi made an effort to move away from each other, they didn't even bother to notice that, instead of moving away from each other, they inched closer and closer.
"Won?" Aohi whispered, her eyes fluttering softly.
"..Eung?" Jungwon asked, Aohi could feel his breath on her cheek, that's how close they were.
Aohi glanced down at his lips, Jungwon following her actions, dreading for the moment they would touch.
Another minute passes, an inch following.
It was quiet, too quiet.
In a span of a second, Aohi could feel Jungwon close the gap in between them, a soft gasp leaving her lips. His lips were soft, oh so soft.
Jungwon's eyes had fluttered close, he didn't know why he ended up closing the gap, hell, he didn't even register that he was kissing Aohi!
Aohi could've melted from just how soft Jungwon's lips were on hers, it was perfect, so perfect. Aohi wanted it to last forever, the feeling of their lips moving in sync was perfect, like a dream.
but as quickly as a dream ends, it did, Xiulin being the main culprit as she busts into the room.
Aohi and Jungwon jumped away from each other, Aohi fixing her appearance and Jungwon covering the lower half of his face.
"Noona! Are you okay?" RI-ki voiced, his worried figure approaching Aohi as she tried to compose herself.
"Yeah- Yeah, I'm..." Aohi glances at Jungwon, who's forced himself not to even think to turn to look at her. "I'm.. alright.." Aohi finishes her sentence, her voice lowering softly.
"We should get you out of here, the staff gave us the green light.." Xiulin spoke curtly, staring at Jungwon as she rubbed Aohi's shoulder.
Before Aohi could even get a word in, Ri-ki was already ushering her up, softly telling her to move. Xiulin taking over when she reaches the door.
"But, won—" Aohi tried to call for the other member, Ri-ki only blocking her sight. "Go, noona." The youngest pleaded, wanting Aohi to rest.
Aohi didn't say anything further as Xiulin pulled her outside, reaching the car with their stuff in tow, letting the younger girl enter the car first.
"Unnie-" Aohi tried to speak her mind before Xiulin could even scold her, but she was instantly silenced by the way her elder sister just sent a glance her way.
"Aohi, what were you thinking?" Xiulin spoke from her seat, leaning back into her seat.
"Unnie.. it was a mistake, I really didn't mean to trip—" Xiulin made a 'nuh uh' sound, shaking her head as she raised her hand up to stop Aohi from speaking even more.
"Not. That." Xiulin turns to her dongsaeng, a slightly annoyed look on here face. "I mean that... the— you know!" Xiulin motions to her hand, making kissing motions by touching the tips of her fingers together.
Aohi watches the action with her lips ajar, she opened her mouth to try and make a reason, an excuse, on why she did it, why she... kissed Jungwon.
Since nothing came out, she only sighed, looking off to the window, as if deep in thought. There was barely any sunlight left, the night coming to replace the sun.
"I don't know.. Unnie, believe me, I was upset and—" Xiulin clicked her tongue. "I thought you disliked our members? That's all you could ever talk about, remember?"
"I know but-" Aohi sighed, looking down at her fingers, fiddling with the rings. "Jungwon- He's different—" Xiulin suddenly puts her hands up in the air, it's like she's finally noticing the plot of a k-drama.
"Different? Because he was nice? You and I have known him for a few months, batsy!" Xiulin argued. Aohi flinches at her aggressive tone, feeling like a kicked cat on the curb.
"It's the way he's changing! Believe me, I tried to push him away, but he was persistent, and I started to change—" Xiulin huffed in her seat, she truly wonders what was going through Aohi's head.
Xiulin thought of the future of ENHYPEN as quickly as she saw the scene of Aohi and Jungwon. It would cause such an outrage, especially between newly-debuted members and how it would conspire so many rumours.
Xiulin's heart was in the right place, worrying about their careers, but she has to understand that Aohi didn't mean for the kiss to happen.
"Unnie.. you said it yourself, we're stuck with them! Is it so bad to try and change? To want to be on better terms with them?" Aohi reasoned, pleading her older member to understand.
"You call that better terms, Aohi?" Xiulin frustratingly replied. The two girls seemed to struggle with finding a middle ground. "Kissing Jungwon is worse than having something against him."
"I like him, unnie!" — "Is you liking Jungwon worth more than our careers?!"
Aohi stays silent at this, for once her stubbornness flickers out like a flame.
She thinks about the whole situation from Xiulin's eyes. She and her unnie worked to debut after being picked out of their respective groups and now that they are debuting, Aohi could ruin it.
Hell, she should be lucky it was Xiulin and.. maybe Ri-ki? who saw the kiss.. Oh gosh, what about Ri-ki? What will he do?
"I'm sorry, unnie... I didn't know what I was thinking..." Aohi whispered, deciding to back down and agree to Xiulin. Her unnie turns to her, seeing the young girl deflate into her chair with a soft sniffle.
Aohi was obviously upset, feeling dejected. Xiulin could only sigh, "You should stay away from Jungwon off-camera.. You and won will only hurt yourselves if feelings start to form..." Xiulin reaches over to rub her arm on the girl's shoulder, in attempt to comfort her.
Aohi only nods, their conversation ending as their separate manager enters the car, ready to drive them home.

MUSIC BANK DRESSING ROOM, 8:56 PM—
"Hyung." A voice calls out for him. Jungwon could only squeeze his eyes shut for a few moments. "Look, just- don't tell the others.." He let out a sigh through his nose, looking up at Ri-ki, who seemed visibly upset.
"I don't care about that, you shouldn't of done that to her." The youngest spoke. Jungwon was taken aback at the sudden hostility coming from Ri-ki.
"Ri-ki, what are you talking about?" Jungwon's eyebrows furrowed, looking appalled at the youngest's behaviour.
Ri-ki clenches his fists, biting the inside of his cheek. "You shouldn't of kissed her."
Jungwon wonders why he'd bring this up, he already knew? What does Ri-ki gain from telling him again?
"You don't think I know that? I'm saying not to mention it to the other hyungs, I'll—" Jungwon spoke, trying to pass the conversation as quickly as possible, the leader didn't want to speak about it, his mind jumbled from the big events of today.
"You're going to hurt Aohi-noona, you know that?" Ri-ki replies, and at this point, Jungwon wonders why he cares so much. Sure, their youngest and Aohi has been closest, but to be so defensive about her?
"Ri-ki, drop it please." Jungwon pleaded, Ri-ki flicking his head to the side, as if ticked off. "she doesn't deserve that, you—" Jungwon stopped Ri-ki from saying even more words, words that could hurt both of them.
"I care about Aohi as much as you do, Ri-ki!" Jungwon argued, Ri-ki biting back just as fierce. "I don't just care, Jungwon-hyung!" He yells, and Jungwon is quiet for a few moments, wondering what he meant.
"You're blowing this out of proportion, ki. You know we're just friends." And at this, Ri-ki scoffs. He felt like a little kid being hid away from things he obviously understood.
"Don't bullshit me, please, hyung." Jungwon clenches his jaw, he could feel the tension rise between them.
It was a familiar feeling, one that started to become obvious as months passed, the more both spent time with Aohi.
"You don't think I notice? The way you look at Noona like she showed you the wonders of the world," Ri-ki steps towards Jungwon, and the older boy takes a step back.
"You used to hate her, and now you kiss her like the past just didn't happen?"
"That was months ago! Aohi and I are on better terms!" Jungwon takes this as an opportunity to stand his ground with Ri-ki, he has never seen their youngest be so rebellious, or hell, angry with them.
"Still! I won't let you play with her feelings like that!"
Jungwon is angered at this, Ri-ki doesn't get to put that claim on him, not when he spent months caring for Aohi, not when he's made a habit to glance at Aohi to make sure she's okay, or always asking her if she needs any help.
Not when Jungwon spent so much time caring, not when he started to form feelings, when he started to love her.
"I'm not playing with anyone's feelings, Ri-ki!" Jungwon finally yells, like a cat defending his territory, feeling offended and intimidated.
"You don't get to accuse me of that! Aohi is just as important to me! I get my actions but I won't do it again! So, drop it!"
"No! I'm not dropping it!" Ri-ki keened.
"God, Ri-ki! Why do you care so much?!" Jungwon groaned, "I said I wouldn't do it again, what more could you want?—"
"It's because I have feelings for her!" Ri-ki reveals, his hand instantly reaching up to slap over his lips. It was so shocking that even Jungwon's eyes widened slowly at his words, not expecting to hear that fall from Ri-ki's lips.
Even Ri-ki's surprised that those words came out of his own mouth.
"I.. I like her."
The two stare at each other for a while, before Ri-ki couldn't handle his hyung's gaze, dashing out with a heavy heart, and a twisting stomach.
Jungwon seemed to grab at a table behind his back, feeling his knees weaken. His hands reached up to wipe the sweat on his face, the temperature of the room seemed to change as the fighting between the two got worse.
Jungwon repeated Ri-ki's works in his head over and over, as if it was a mantra. Ri-ki liked her, he had feelings for her.
God, what will he do?

You were very proud of the image you’d built yourself. It was the perfect mix of your authentic self, the sensitive and shy, with the personality HYBE had wanted for you, borderline hyper feminine and maybe a little more energetic than you usually were. But nonetheless, the soft, princess-y aesthetic you now exuded was something you thoroughly enjoyed. Fans did too, and that made sharing your life with them all that more enjoyable.
“Are you sure I’m centered?” you asked Sunoo and he shuffled backwards a bit at your question. “Sun, that’s not an answer.”
“Calm down, princess, I'm just trying to get your whole outfit in the frame,” he said, eyes glued onto your phone screen. Finding places to take Instagram pictures at music shows was difficult. Not to say you weren’t a fan of the infamous pink wall of MBC, or the stairs from KBS, but you were a perfectionist and could only take so many pictures in front of them. So, after finding the prettiest spot by a large set of windows that showcased the beautiful weather that day, you couldn’t help but stop to snap a few pictures for a future post or photo dump.
You were just lucky that you had the most amazing boyfriends to help you take pictures.
“Woah! Did I just die and go to heaven?” You continued posing as Heeseung and Jake walked by, deciding to join you and Sunoo.
“Get out of here, Heeseung-hyung. She doesn’t need you distracting her–” Sunoo’s jaw dropped a bit as you changed the way you were standing once again. “Yah, what did they put in your water today?”
You giggled, feeling your face heat up at the compliments being thrown your way. “Stop!”
“So pretty!” Jake cheered as the three boys smiled at your fluster. “Gorgeous! Amazing! Wonderful!”
“Ahh!” you cried, covering your face with your hands to try and hide the pink that’d joined the makeup blush on your cheeks. You had a love-hate relationship when your boyfriends would watch you take photos. It was adorable with the way they fawned over you, shouting praises and fighting over who was holding the camera. But whenever they were around, you always ended up having too much fun instead of taking your tasks seriously.
That, and they had a rather cruel enjoyment of teasing you.
“Cute!” Heeseung joined Jake’s encouragements, using a tone that was similar to when he spoke to cute kids or animals.
Sunoo ignored them, but a small smile still remained on his lips. Anyone could tell that he was simply enjoying the sight of you. “Turn your head to the left a little,” he instructed and you did as he asked. And as you smiled for the camera, their small gasps of awe and tiny cheers continued. The three boys couldn’t believe you were real. The way your hair flowed effortlessly and how your makeup had been applied that day only added to your natural beauty. And the way the rhinestone decorated skirt clung to your hips and the matching top wrapped around your torso made you appear almost dreamlike. But they figured it made sense that someone so beautiful on the inside was also unbelievably stunning on the outside.
It was the little moments like these that they took to bask in their love for you. Watching as you act so naturally was like watching the sun break through the clouds on a rainy day, giving them spurts of happiness through the stressful times of promotion. When you shyly accepted their words of affection, that relaxed, blissed feeling of everything being at ease spread through each of them.
“Okay, okay,” you said suddenly, running up to Sunoo to grab your phone. “I’m done now.”
“What?” Sunoo said, turning his body so your hand missed the electronic. “But I didn’t even get any with you!”
“I didn’t know that you wanted to take any!” you laughed, trying to swipe for your phone again. Sunoo nodded his head as he maneuvered his arms so they were wrapped around you.
Jake took the phone from the younger, “I want some too.”
You sighed, walking back to the spot by the window as Sunoo clung onto your back. “Heeseung-oppa I’m guessing you’ll want some too?”
He grinned, “Of course.”
“Ok. Can you kiss me first?” Sunoo asked, interrupting Heeseung. In response, your hands found their way to the soft skin of his cheeks and Sunoo tilted his head over your shoulder so you could reach him. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Jake angling the phone with a few words of help from Heeseung. Sunoo nudged your head with his, drawing your attention back to him, “Kiss me.”
Without wasting another second, you did just that. Your fingers trailed along the skin of his neck as he pressed his lips against yours again and again. The faint sound of the iPhone camera shuttering being the only thing keeping you from losing yourself in the love you had for your boyfriends.
After you had satisfied the three’s need for pictures with you, you all quickly carried on with the day. The hours were long when it came to Music Shows. The actual recordings were over faster than you could’ve originally guessed, but the time spent waiting for the winners to be revealed tested your patience no matter what mood you were in. So, in order to distract from the mind-numbing boredom and the longing to sleep, you always turned yourself over to the rest of the group. And usually, they had no trouble keeping you entertained.
This day was no exception.
Riki was more than happy when you waltzed over after cooling down and motoring the performance, plopping yourself down onto the couch before cuddling up into his side. He didn’t hesitate to brush your hair out of the way so it wouldn’t be pulled on and blissfully helped you get comfortable on his lap.
“I need your opinion,” you said, suddenly shoving your phone screen in front of his face. He took the device from you, discovering the pretty photos of you in your outfit from the day’s stage. “Which ones should I post?” you asked and he began to swipe through them. Riki’s chin fell onto your shoulder, resting on it as he looked over the pictures. Your scent infiltrated his senses, and he melted a bit at the comforting sensation.
Riki clicked his tongue after a moment, tilting his head so it was resting on the side of yours. “I don’t know if any of them are good.”
Your head snapped to the side, looking behind you at what he was seeing and ultimately pushing his head off yours.
“What’re you…” Oh. On the screen was one of the pictures you’d taken with Sunoo, your cheeks pressed together as he smiled and you were halfway through a laugh. “Ah Riki-san,” you giggled as he resumed going through the pictures, getting to the ones of you and Jake. “Did you want some pictures with me?”
His full lips pushed out into a pout. “No– Wow, with Heeseung-hyung too?” You slapped his chest softly in protest.
“You were getting ready, Ki. I didn’t want to interrupt you,” you explained and his warm brown eyes turned to you, gaze gentle with admiration. “Hmm?” you questioned after a moment of silence. His head ducked down to kiss your cheek.
“Let’s take some now.”
“I thought you didn’t want any?”
He opened the camera app, “Well, I want to be featured in your Instagram post.”
At the words ‘Instagram’ and ‘Post’ Jay, who’d been sitting in a chair near the couch Riki and you were snuggled into, abruptly found interest in what you both were doing. Deciding to disregard how the older was now staring at you both, you made a half heart with your hand and held it up to Riki’s cheek.
“Can I do a heart pose with you?”
Riki rolled his eyes, but the hints of a smile gave him away. “Fine.”
You let out a small ‘Yay’ as the two of you got situated. He angled the camera and took a few pictures with the pose you’d requested before he delicately grabbed your face, maneuvering it closer to his so your cheeks were touching and your lips were almost on his.
“Riki-san–” your voice was muffled as his fingers squished your cheeks together.
“You don’t have to post these, but you should send them to me, princess.” Your heart trembled at the nickname that the younger was so fond of using.
The corners of your lips brushed, but Riki pulled away before you could actually move to kiss him. His expression read expectant, “Of course I’ll send them to you, Ki.”
He gave you a quick peck. “I think Jay-hyung wants a picture now.” It was true, Jay had gotten up from his spot on the chair and was now standing awkwardly by one of the gray plastic tables in the center of the dressing room. You pretended to groan as Riki assisted you in getting off of his lap, thighs brushing yours and making your face feel warm.
“You guys have never shown this much interest in my Instagram before,” you said as you pranced over to your older boyfriend. His hands found your waist instantly, and before you could process what was happening, you were being lifted off the ground and into Jay’s arms.
Riki, like the photography geek he was, had been snapping photos while Jay pulled you up so he was holding you bridal style. “We are, I don’t think you’ve ever noticed before, though.”
“It’s an honor to be on your feed,” Jay added, and you tried to not focus on how he was gripping your legs. No matter how long you’d been dating all of them, they still had the ability to make those butterflies erupt in your stomach and your heart race with love.
You wound your arms around his neck and made eye contact with the phone that was pointed at you and Jay.
“It’s an honor that you guys want to be on my feed.”
Jay’s thumb rubbed against your leg comfortingly, “Of course we want to be included with everything you do. We’re in love with you.”
You cooed faintly at his words, “I love you.”
“I love you too!” Riki called, taking one more picture before getting up himself and bringing your phone over to you. Jay refused to put you back down as you reached for the youngest. So you settled for caressing Riki’s cheek with your hand after taking back your phone.
“Love you, Ki.”
“Yeah. And since you love me so much you should be posting me today.”
Tumblr media
The urge to take off your makeup had never been so strong before. You were exhausted, but the day of promotions was finally over and it was time to head back to the dorms. All you longed to do was throw yourself onto the large couch in the main room and cuddle with your boys. Maybe watch an old Disney movie too. Sangmi definitely would appreciate that.
The chatter from the other members as they got ready to leave fell as white noise onto your ears as you got your things around. One of your least favorite things was when you would accidentally leave things behind at music shows, therefore a new habit of yours that quickly formed after your debut was double and triple checking that everything you brought ended up right back in your bag.
Mentally, you ran through your list as you shuffled through the light pink My Mum Made It puffer bag. Phone charger, vitamins, perfume, hair clips–
“What is this I’ve heard about you taking pictures with everyone but me today?”
“Hello to you too, Hoon.” His arms slipped around your middle from behind and he peeked over you as you made sure you had everything.
“Can I have one too, baby?”
You leaned back to leave a kiss on his neck, “Of course. I just need to find my water bottle first. I don’t know where it went.”
“It’s on the vanity over here,” Sunghoon said as he tilted his head towards the left.
“Thanks, Hoon,” you replied as you took his hands to free yourself from his grasp. He didn’t let go of your hand though. Instead, he gripped onto you even tighter, your fingers feeling small as they clutched onto his thumb, and you pulled him along with you to grab the last thing you needed.
Swiftly, you grabbed the metal water bottle and moved to head back to your bag before he stopped you. “Mirror selfie?” Sunghoon offered.
“Ooh, yeah let’s do it.” You checked over your hair and makeup for a moment, deciding that while the style had fallen a bit flat and the makeup had begun to wear off, you still looked presentable. Both you and Sunghoon had changed out of your stage outfits, you wearing the brown skirt you’d shown up in today, with one of Heeseung’s white long-sleeved shirts on your top half. Sunghoon was wearing dark brown, almost black, slacks with a beige sweater that had a button-down white shirt underneath.
You turned to face him, and hugged him tightly, foot popping up behind you as you winked at the camera through the mirror.
Sunghoon chuckled, “Okay, now do a serious one.”
He let his own free arm fall to rest around your hips as you dropped your leg and smiled gently at the phone. After a minute, he decided that was enough and pulled up the pictures for you to check.
“Wah, we look so good!”
Sunghoon grinned at you, “I think it’s impossible for you to look bad.”
All you could do was tuck your head and giggle into his chest. Trying to hide your giddiness was never easy, especially when it was one of the things Sunghoon always searched for.
Tumblr media
As soon as you had gotten into the car with Jungwon, Jay, and Sunghoon, you had fallen asleep.
Jungwon’s wide shoulders were just too comfortable to resist, and with the feeling of safety and happiness in your heart, as well as sleep pushing your eyelids closed, you were quick to drift off. You didn’t dream of anything, though, and as soon as the car began to approach the dorms, Jungwon shook you awake gently.
“Hi, dolly,” he said sweetly and you rubbed the sleep out of your eyes. You kept your head on his shoulder as the car slowly wound down the road towards the dorm. The feeling of his hand rested on your own and you blinked heavily, enjoying the feeling of relaxation. Until you saw your phone in your boyfriend’s hand, your Instagram account pulled up on the screen.
“Hey, Yang Jungwon-ssi, what’re you doing with my phone?”
He leaned forward at the same time as you did, refusing you of your device.
“He posted for you,” Jay said from the seats behind you where he sat with Heeseung. “Really cute. ENGENEs are loving it.”
You glanced up at Jungwon, suspicious, “Let me see.”
The three boys laughed.
“Jungwon-oppa what did you post!” you laughed nervously and Jungwon shook his head. With him distracted by your reaction, you tugged his arm closer to you so you could look at it.
The first picture was one of the ones you’d taken by yourself, a cute one of you holding your skirt and laughing. Still not believing that the boys had posted anything skeptical of your relationship, you continued looking through them. There was a picture of you and Sunoo (the one that Riki had pointed out earlier) and the one with Jake where you were leaning onto his chest. The one with Heeseung standing behind you, his chin propped up on your head and one of each of the pictures you’d taken with Riki and Jay. There was your mirror picture with Sunghoon and…
One of you sleeping on Jungwon, your mouth open and a string of drool slipping out of the corner of your mouth.
“YAH YANG JUNGWON!” You finally tore the phone out of his hands, “What is this?” you cried.
The three of you boyfriends only laughed hysterically at your reaction. “Don’t you look so cute?” Jungwon asked.
“Oh my goodness, my idol image.”
“You don’t even look bad, princess, you just look adorable,” Sunghoon said.
You huffed out a breath of air, pouting and leaning even further onto Jungwon. “You guys are going to be the death of me.”
Jungwon pointed at something on the screen, “At least we made the caption cute.”
dollerina ENGENEs aren’t the only ones obsessed with me💕😁

Enhypen Jake. Jake Sim
He’s attracted to
Tumblr media
based on astrology
Jake likes playful people who give challenges. He notices calm people who always smile and want a hug when they meet. He gets annoyed when people are better than him at something, but he still likes it because it gives him motivation to be better. He prefers to be with people who don't get into fights, but deal with issues clearly and to the point.
He is so opinionated about clothing because he cares a lot about how his partner looks around him. If something goes wrong, he will help with clothing choices and go shopping for clothes together with his partner.
The age of the partner is not really important to him. Can date someone who is more than 3 years older than him. This only applies to adults.
In his partner's appearance he likes elegant accessories, piercings, well-groomed hands, oriental perfumes and hairstyles with one rubber band. Height is important to him, but sometimes he doesn't pay attention to it.
This man knows how to make interesting dates. He knows how to present himself well, may lie a little about his successes, but how beautifully he speaks.
He can also constantly surprise and expects some thoughts to materialize. Needs a partner who is open to any kind of conversation. He has a knack for resolving misunderstandings and doesn't want anyone else to be left upset at the end.

Scared of Love (in a coffee shop)

Details: jungkook centric, a/b/o dynamics, coffee shop au, soulmates au
Summary: Jungkook loses his job and gains a new one.
Warnings: implied mpreg (not jk), attempted assault

Jungkook was towards the end of his shift when he caught the posturing alpha scent. It broke through the bar’s typical alcohol and sweat smells. He scanned the crowd as he finished making the drink he was working on, placing it front of the customer with a tense smile.
There was a man looming over a girl in the corner.
Jungkook moved over to them. “Everything okay here?” He called out, over the many conversations in the room.
“We’re fine,” the man said, barely glancing at him. The girl’s body was frozen stiff, but her wide eyes flickered to meet Jungkook’s.
Jungkook frowned. “Give her some space.”
“What?” Now the man turned to look at Jungkook, gritting his teeth, lip pulled back in a partial snarl. “This is none of your business, man. Back off.”
“You’re the one who should back off,” Jungkook thought aloud. “She clearly wants nothing to do with you.”
The man smirked. “She never said anything.”
The girl opened and closed her mouth, eyes still locked on Jungkook, gaze turning pleading. The man leaned his palm on the wall behind her, pinning her there. She whimpered. He laughed and the sour scent of terrified omega curled into the air.
“That’s it.” Jungkook came out from behind the bar and grabbed the man’s arm, pulling him away from her.
“What the fuck!”
Jungkook twisted his arm behind his back and shoved him towards the entrance. Minho was working the door tonight.
“Keep him out of here, he’s scaring omegas!” Jungkook told the bouncer.
Minho nodded, grabbing the protesting alpha.
“You’ll regret that!” The alpha shouted after Jungkook as he moved back inside.
The girl was still in the corner. “You okay?” Jungkook asked. “Are you here alone?” She shook her head.
“My… my friends went to the bathroom. I went to get drinks, and…” She swallowed. “He wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
Jungkook grimaced. “That sucks. I’m sorry you were made to feel unsafe here.”
She shrugged. “I’m… it happens. I wish I was better at…” She sighed. “Thank you.”
Jungkook waited with her until her friends came back. They immediately wrapped their arms around her and offered to get a cab together.
Most of the customers left in the next hour, Minho shepherding any stragglers out the door with a firm hand and a tough look.
After he finished cleaning, Jungkook started the walk home.
It was early morning. The streets were mostly empty.
Jungkook sped up when the back of his neck prickled, like he was being watched.
Before he could react, someone grabbed his arm and pulled him into a nearby alleyway. There was a loud rip as his jacket tore. It hung off his arm. Jungkook’s back slammed into the wall. He couldn’t breath.
“I told you you’d regret it.” It was the man from earlier, sneering down at him.
Jungkook gulped in air.
“I don’t,” Jungkook told him truthfully. Even if this alpha beat him up, he didn’t regret helping that girl earlier. She didn’t deserve this man invading her personal space like that.
The man’s brow furrowed. He leaned in and sniffed at Jungkook’s neck. Jungkook squirmed, trying to protect his scent glands. It was too late.   The man laughed. Jungkook’s scent blockers must have worn off. They were a cheap brand that he frequently sweated off during his longer shifts.
“Omega,” he cooed. “Were you jealous? You wanted me to pay attention to you instead of her?”
Jungkook’s face twisted in disgust. “You’re delusional.” He tried to twist out of the man’s hold again.
“You’re too worked up,” the man told him. “Let me help you calm down.” He reached for the back of Jungkook’s neck. Jungkook bit his hand. The man growled and reeled back. Jungkook kneed him between the legs. The man howled and crouched down, curling in on himself. Jungkook took off at a run.
Maybe that was a mistake.
Alphas like that liked a chase.
Jungkook ran with the man on his tail for several blocks. Then he saw a crowd of people coming out of a nearby club.
He wove his way into the crowd, hoping the mixture of scents would hide his. Club goers frequently wore strong scent blockers or perfumes so they could enjoy their night without dynamics interfering. Jungkook caught a strong fruity scent and moved closer to it. He saw the man pause at the end of the block, raising his head to sniff.
“Are you being chased?”
Jungkook flinched, turning to the strawberry-scented man who addressed him. Jungkook’s eyes widened. He was very handsome, dark fluffy hair contrasted with his bright red jacket. His arm was slung over the shoulder of a shorter man, who was also incredibly good looking.
Jungkook nodded, still catching his breath.
“For fun, or an unwanted suitor?” The shorter man asked. Jungkook stared, still a little startled by how good looking the two men were. In his job, he saw a lot of people dressed their best on a night out, but he never seen anyone look so good in a plain white t-shirt. The shirt’s wide neck line showed off several mating marks. Jungkook pouted slightly—of course such a pretty man already had mates.
The man was still looking at him expectantly.
“He’s a bully,” Jungkook explained. “I wasn’t… I’m sorry I’m hiding behind you.” He glanced back at the end of the block. The man was gone. Jungkook sighed in relief. “Looks like he’s gone. I’ll leave—“
“Better stay for another couple of minutes. Make sure he’s really gone.” The man in the red jacket leaned closer to whisper to Jungkook. Jungkook breathed in the strawberry perfume, the sweetness making him dizzy. He wondered how it would mix with the man’s natural scent. “What?” The man raised an eyebrow at him.
“Tae!” The shorter man smacked his hand. “Give him some space.”
“Sorry.” Tae straightened up, smiling sheepishly.
“It’s okay…” Jungkook mumbled. He listened to the two men (mates?) bicker for a few more minutes before he turned to leave.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay getting home?” The man in the white shirt asked him concernedly. Jungkook nodded. “Well… okay, stay safe.”
When he got home, Jungkook scrubbed his skin hard to get rid of the feeling of that man looming over him. He was a little disappointed when the strawberry scent disappeared as well.
Jungkook woke later that afternoon, a little sore and bruised, but otherwise fine. He frowned at the tear on his favorite coat for a while before cooking something to eat. Before long it was early evening, time to head to work.
“You’re fired,” Jungkook’s boss said. Jungkook stared at him.
“What?”
“A customer came to me this morning, told me you attacked him, unprovoked, showed me the bite mark on his hand.”
“It wasn’t unprovoked!” Jungkook snapped. “He attacked me first—and he was harassing another customer!”
“I didn’t hear anything about that, just that you attacked someone,” his boss said. He waved his hand dismissively. “Anyway, it doesn’t matter who started it, the customer is always right.” Jungkook lowered his head, trying to think about whether to curse his boss out, or beg for his job back. He needed the money, but at what point did this job stop being worth it? “It’s nothing personal, but I’m running a business here.” He clapped Jungkook on the shoulder. Jungkook tensed at his touch. “I’ve got to make the tough decisions sometimes.”
Ten minutes later, Jungkook sat on the curb outside the bar, Minho standing beside him, watching him in quiet concern.
“Oh.”
Jungkook looked up, seeing the girl from last night. She smiled hesitantly at him.
He nodded at her. “What’s up?”
“I was hoping to find you here. I wanted to thank you, again, for last night.”
Minho squinted at her. “This is the girl that creep from last night was bothering?” He asked. Jungkook nodded. “Maybe she could talk to the boss, get him to give you your job back.”
The girl’s eyes widened. “You lost your job?”
Jungkook nodded again. “Our ‘friend’ decided to drag me into a dark alley. I defended myself. He complained to my boss, so I lost my job.”
The girl frowned. “That’s ridiculous!”
Jungkook shrugged. “I think I’m done working here anyway. It sucks.” He glanced back at Minho. “No offense.”
Minho snorted. “None taken.”
“So… you don’t want me to try and help you get your job back?” The girl asked. Jungkook shook his head.
“The job search will be hell, but it’ll still be better than this.”
The girl bit her lip. “What if… what if I know a job you could go for?”
“Really?” Jungkook smiled. “That would be great!” He had already been dreading the process of touching up his resume. He hadn’t touched his portfolio since he left his apprenticeship. Unless his arm counted as an example of his work? He tilted his head. “What kind of job?”
Jungkook spent the rest of the night pacing in his apartment. He tried to settle down in his nest, but his nerves wouldn’t let him. He’d counted and recounted his savings, but it wouldn’t be enough to pay his rent and send hyung money. He needed this job. Hopefully the meeting tomorrow morning would go well.
Jin’s Cafe had the name Jin written over and over again on the window. Jungkook frowned, imagining a self-centered manager who wouldn’t be much better than his last.
“They’re really nice,” the girl said, as if she was reading his mind. “I promise.”
The sign on the door was flipped to ‘closed,’ but the girl punched a code into the keypad and opened the door.
The cafe smelled nice. There were the usual coffee and pastry smells, but also a fresh green scent, like a garden. The room was filled with shelves of books, records, and plants. Curving green vines ran under everything from trot to hip hop.
A man was restocking one of the shelves. He turned as they walked in, eyes widening slightly.
“Jiwoo-yah, you’re early. Your shift doesn’t start until later.”
“I know.” She smiled at him. “But, I actually wanted to introduce someone to you. You know how you said you could still use another employee?” She motioned at Jungkook.
“Hello.” Jungkook bowed slightly. “I’m Jeon Jungkook.”
“Min Yoongi.” Yoongi dipped his head. “I’m one of the managers here at Jin’s Cafe. Are you open to a casual interview, Jungkook-ssi?”
“Sure.”
“Jiwoo, have you eaten yet?” Yoongi asked her. “Why don’t you go to the kitchen and get some breakfast from hyung? He’s got a new matcha toast he’s trying out.” Jungkook perked up. Yoongi grinned. “Ah. Bring one out for Jungkook-ssi as well.”
“Oh, no, no.” Jungkook shook his head. “It’s fine. I was just… curious.”
“Jin-hyung loves testing his food out on unsuspecting guests,” Yoongi told him, waving Jiwoo along. “So, Jungkook-ssi, do you have any experience working as a barista?”
Jungkook nodded. “I did work in a coffee shop during school.”
Jungkook waited for Yoongi to ask what he went to school for, but instead he asked, “Did you enjoy working there?”
Jungkook smiled. “Yeah. The manager was nice. And good at baking! She made these really good banana nut muffins I always used my employee discount on.”
“Do you have any interest in books, or plants, or music?” Yoongi asked. “We sell all three, so it’s good to know a little about them.”
“Well, I don’t know read much, and I don’t know anything about plants, but I do like listening to music,” Jungkook told him honestly. He and Yoongi talked about what kind of music they liked to listen to until Jiwoo came out again with a plate for Jungkook. The matcha toast was pretty, the green spread contrasting nicely with a neat row of strawberries on top.
“It’s yummy,” Jiwoo said. “Have some.”
“But don’t praise it too much, or hyung’s head will get too big,” Yoongi added. Jungkook actually lost his ability to talk for a moment, savoring the flavors mixing in his mouth. He let out a few appreciative noises. Yoongi frowned. “You don’t have to keeping eating it if you don’t like it.”
“What?” Jungkook frowned back at him. “But, it’s so good.”
“But your face is so angry!” Jiwoo protested.
“Oh…” Jungkook scratched the side of his face. “That’s just… how I look when I enjoy things.”
Yoongi grinned. “How cute.”
Jungkook flushed. “I…”
“You have green on your mouth,” Jiwoo told him. Jungkook groaned as she handed him a napkin. Yoongi was still smiling.
“Jungkook-ssi, how would you feel about starting on a trial basis?” He asked. “You haven’t met the rest of us yet, so I’d like to see how we all get along first, but I like what I’m hearing from you so far.”
“That would be great.” Jungkook bowed again. “Please take care of me.”
“No need to be so formal,” Yoongi said. “How old are you? Call me hyung.”
Jiwoo, as it turned out, was Jungkook’s same-age friend. She dropped formalities quickly, complimenting the purple tips of Jungkook’s hair as she walked him through how to use the espresso machine. Jungkook liked how she filled any silences with cheerful chatter before they could get awkward.
As soon as she finished running him through the sales system, Yoongi shooed him out the door.
“I wouldn’t start you on the morning rush for you first shift!” Yoongi said. “Are you free later tonight? We can introduce you to the rest of the guys and show you how to close up.”
“That sounds good, hyung.”
Jungkook walked home with a little spring to his step. He saw his brother had texted him, asking if he’d be available for a video chat with Seoyeon soon. Jungkook settled down in his nest, hugging the plush rabbit that Seoyeon had sent him from his last birthday. She had a matching one, “So when I hug my bunny, you hug yours, and it’s like we’re hugging each other, samchon!”
Junghyun answered after the first ring.
“What’s wrong?”
“What? Why does something have to be wrong for me to call you? You texted me earlier.”
“Yeah, but you hardly ever respond to my texts. Usually, I have to get Seoyeon to lure you in if I want a response.”
Jungkook pouted. “That’s not true.”
“…Sure. So, what’s up?”
“Well, don’t freak out, but I got fired.”
“…Jungkook.”
“It’s fine! Totally fine! I didn’t like that job much anyway, and anyways, I got a new job already!” Jungkook didn’t tell Junghyun why he’d gotten fired, but he told him all about Jiwoo and Yoongi and how nice they were being to him.
“It really sounds like you could get along with them well,” Junghyun thought. Jungkook hummed in agreement. “I’m happy for you.”
Jungkook usually got along with coworkers, but he had never been too close to any of them. Jiwoo and Yoongi seemed like people he wouldn’t mind spending time with even outside of work.
“I’m excited,” he admitted. “I hope it all works out.”

Sometimes---SOMETIMES, I feel "slightly bad" for j/k, 'cause this is the type of fans he has attracted to himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like imagine having these type of fans who tweet more about another member they consider to be "your rival" than tweeting about YOU.
And the most obsessed freak of them all, the sewer rat Murillo who LOVES setting up j/k more than celebrating his milestones; all his side accounts are 90% tweeting about "how much he hates jimin", calling him animal names or obsessing over FACE's numbers, records, ect
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But meanwhile THIS is how many streams he actually gives j/k on a daily basis ▼:
Tumblr media
Yep, you read that right. This is his lastfm and that's the amount of streams he gives to his alleged "fave", while he talks shit on twitter.
This is why we can't take jjks serious.
Same with vsolos & tkkers bragging about all those insta followers that NEVER reflect in his streams or sales. But they're still wondering why "bts secret weapon" still doesn't have a No.1 on hot100.
