“Overall the matches to 2D with what I have on hand range from "decent and will look fine with a faceup" to "pretty damn good". To the naked eye I think 2D's resin appears a little bit lighter and less pigmented than Volks' resin, and maybe a bit pinker? Switch's resin is pinker than both but is also probably an ok match once there's a faceup involved (provided it's a 2D head going on a Switch body. I'm not sure if it'd work the other way around since Switch's pinkish resin + a faceup and blushing might send it a little too far into the pink territory.)”

Project Linna Yamazaki (part 11)

Not meaning for my posts to get sporadic recently, honest.  It’s just that I’m not sure you guys want me to do a post every time something tiny happens ;)

Doing the outfits from BGC is a costly project; not as much as getting the dolls, of course, but it does add up, not to mention finding someone who can actually do this or that outfit.  So while looking at some of the other outfits, I realized that Linna’s leotard from Born to Kill looked relatively easy to do.  I just needed to get some black tights, some legwarmers, and commission somebody for her raglan shirt (the leotard I already had, having commissioned it for Yumeko years ago).  I found the tights on eBay, got the legwarmers from Coolcats (and had to dye them yellow myself), and commissioned the RustedCouture shop on Etsy to do her raglan shirt.  He was even able to the name decal on the back for me!  So after a few weeks assembling the pieces, I was able to get them all together to make Linna look friggin’ awesome ^_^

Good thing for the raglan shirt; the leotard is actually too small for Linna, since she has a longer torso than Yumeko.  Maybe I can get her her own proper-fitting one in the future.

I’m still waiting on a reply from another person on Etsy to see if she can do the innerwear.  Stay tuned!

So apparently my tumblr turned ten yesterday and coincidentally it was the Untamed’s first anniversary. Which is enough to drag me out of lurker mode to post pics. Anyway, the Untamed has been eating us alive since February. Normally I don’t do fan dolls but like I said, I’ve fallen hard. I was lucky enough (with the help of the awesome Rainwaltz) to get my hands on an Oasisdoll Zilan (which was sculpted off Xiao Zhan’s face). I was even luckier because Amet was willing to paint him for me. We’re still waiting on actual canon outfits (Lan Zhan is being painted rot now) to arrive but Wei Ying still got to go on a photo expedition in a patch of woods we found to mirror as the Burial Mounds. I honestly can’t wait for Lan Zhan to be finished so there can be pics of them together.
