Catch Up Post: SSEUK, ROH, More From CEO x NJPW; This Week’s NJPW on AXS: Dominion & Marathon
Tumblr media
Well hey I’m back from vacation. A lot happened while I was away, as NJPW talents basically took their shows on the roads, even beyond the CEO x NJPW event. Speaking of which, there’s an update about that situation below, and I also did upload the Podblast to Place To Be Nation for you to listen to. So why not do that?
Meanwhile, on Saturday 6/30 and Sunday 7/1, much of the NJPW roster was in the UK, for the Strong Style Evolved UK shows that featured, among other things, a title change, as well as a Young Lion in a new gimmick.
Strong Style Evolved United Kingdom - 6/30/2018, Milton Keynes Ice Arena
The Great O-Khan d. Shota Umino (Diving Mongolian Chop)
Yujiro Takahashi & Taiji Ishimori [Bullet Club] d. Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis (Ishimori > Fletcher, Bloody Cross)
Tiger Mask IV d. David Starr (Tiger Driver)
WALTER d. Yuji Nagata (lariat)
YOSHI-HASHI [CHAOS] d. Chris Brookes (Karma)
Will Ospreay [CHAOS] d. Yoshinobu Kanemaru (Stormbreaker)
Takashi Iizuka, Taichi & El Desperado [SZKG] d. Jay White, Toru Yano & Gedo [CHAOS]
British Tag Team Championship: Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr. [SZKG] © d. Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS] - Suzuki/ZSJ succeed their 2nd defense
- 7/1/2018, Manchester Altrincham Arena
The Great O-Khan d. Dan Duggan (Diving Mongolian Chop)
Yuji Nagata d. Shota Umino (Nagata Lock II)
Takashi Iizuka, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado [SZKG] d. YOSHI-HASHI, Toru Yano & Gedo [CHAOS] (Kanemaru > Gedo, Deep Impact)
WALTER d. Yujiro Takahashi [Bullet Club] (Powerbomb)
Taichi [SZKG] d. Will Ospreay [CHAOS] (Taichi-Style Last Ride after interference)
David Starr d. El Phantasmo, Tiger Mask IV and Taiji Ishimori [Bullet Club] (Starr > Tiger, rollup following mask pull)
Jay White [CHAOS] d. Chris Brookes (Blade Runner)
Zack Sabre Jr. [SZKG] d. Kazuchika Okada [CHAOS] (European Clutch)
Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship: Minoru Suzuki [SZKG] d. Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS] © (Gotch Style Piledriver) - Ishii fails his 2nd defense - Suzuki is the 9th champion
Suzuki-gun as a unit did not lose a single match on this tour, and indeed Suzuki-gun now hold two out of the three titles with Minoru Suzuki himself holding two of them. Zack Sabre Jr. got a revenge win from Sakura Genesis over Okada, with Okada now having had 2 singles losses in a row. [EDIT: Post-main on Night 2, WALTER laid out Ishii and stared down Suzuki. WALTER v. Ishii is now happening at Summer Sizzler on 8/17/2018.]
The Great O-Khan is a new gimmick for now-graduated Young Lion, Tomoyuki Oka. He was described as looking like Kin Corn Karn from the NES Pro Wrestling game. He does Mongolian Chops like Tenzan. Pretty interesting he’s been graduated now, since he really didn’t look like he was ready to be moved on from Young Lion matches, and indeed maybe he still hasn’t. It just makes me miss Katsuya Kitamura, mostly.
These shows either are or should be on RPWOnDemand soon, and will probably end up on NJPWWorld eventually as well.
Tumblr media
Also happening on Friday 6/29 and Saturday 6/30 were a PPV/TV taping cycle for Ring of Honor. In NJPW-related matches, the opener of the PPV had The Kingdom defeat EVIL, SANADA & BUSHI to retain the ROH World 6-Man Tag Team titles. (Say, um, where are the NEVER ones lately?) KUSHIDA also lost to Jay Lethal. Dalton Castle miraculously retained against Cody Rhodes and Marty Scurll, despite them telegraphing Cody’s win from a mile away.
This was pretty short-lived, however, as the next night Dalton would lose the title to Jay Lethal from a 4-way match also featuring Cody and Matt Taven. Something tells me this is just tranisitionary so Cody can get the title and have his NWA title match at All In.
Also at the next night, KUSHIDA beat Jonathan Gresham, and LIJ beat both Young Bucks/Adam Page and SoCal Uncensored in a 3-way match.
These shows also featured participation from STARDOM, the Japanese women’s promotion, as Mayu Iwatani and the unit Odeo Tai were in matches here.
Lastly, after being cajoled into it  (read: first doubling down), Kenny Omega did tweet out an apology and statement about the booking of Chasyn Rance on the CEO x NJPW show. He is offering refunds for anyone who was affected by the booking, which almost kind of isn’t the point. I’m not even sure anyone in attendance really knew who Chasyn Rance and Aaron Epic were. And to have to be cajoled into it... yeah I don’t know. Due dilligence wasn’t done dilligence here, and just Do Better is what’s being asked. Maybe Omega really didn’t know about Rance’s sex offender status. When told, don’t act like everyone is picking on you. These are grown adults we’re talking about, and yet nobody ever wants to actually take responsibility. Maybe that’s the first step in changing the world.
In a related note, I can honestly say at this point that the delays in starting the CEO x NJPW show may not be on NJPW, but rather CEO. I say this after trying to go to the convention itself on Sunday, and there were delays delays delays in the Fighting Game Championships (to wit, when we went there, Dragonball FighterZ should have been started, however Smash was delayed, which then delayed Tekken 7 [We did get to see THAT final and THAT WAS REALLY COOL], which delayed DBFZ, which delayed Street FIghter V, which was what we really had wanted to see. SFV didn’t start until around 11pm and ended at 2am. Oy...). Which, again, is unprofessional looking, but it seems localized to CEO. As I’d mentioned elsewhere, all the Long Beach shows started on time thus far. And I’m pretty sure San Francisco will as well.
Tumblr media
To continue the very-Kenny-Omega-heavy theme here, this week’s premiere episode of NJPW on AXS is a 2-hour special, showing the 60+ minute Best 2 Out of 3 Falls Match for the IWGP Heavyweight title between Kazuchika Okada v. Kenny Omega from Dominion 6.9 at Osaka-Jo Hall. It starts at the usual time, but will fill 2 hours between the match length and commercial breaks.
On Saturday 7/7, starting at 12pm EDT, they are running the “Bullet Club Is Fine” marathon on AXS, with a heavy focus on Bullet Club oriented repeats of NJPW on AXS, to lead in to the main event of G1 Special in San Francisco, naturally.
That show, of course, starts at 8pm EDT / 5pm PDT live on AXS if you are not in San Francisco. If you are outside the USA, it will be on NJPWWorld, which, you may be better off because I am honestly dreading JR and Barnett live on the mic.
G1 Special in San Francisco - 7/7/2018, Cow Palace, San Francisco, CA (AXS TV [USA] / NJPWWorld)
YOSHI-HASHI, Gedo, Rocky Romero, SHO & YOH [CHAOS] v. King Haku [FREE], Tama Tonga [Bullet Club], Tanga Loa [Bullet Club], Yujiro Takahashi [Bullet Club] & Chase Owens [Bullet Club]
Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano [CHAOS] v. Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr. [SZKG]
Hiroshi Tanahashi & KUSHIDA v. Adam Page & Marty Scurll [Bullet Club]
NEVER Openweight Championship: Hirooki Goto [CHAOS] © v. Jeff Cobb [FREE]
IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: Matt & Nick Jackson [Bullet Club] © v. EVIL & SANADA [Los Ingobernables]
Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay [CHAOS] v. Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI [Los Ingobernables]
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: Hiromu Takahashi [Los Ingobernables] © v. Dragon Lee [CMLL]
IWGP US Heavyweight Championship: Jay White [CHAOS] © v. Juice Robinson
IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Kenny Omega [Bullet Club] © v. Cody Rhodes [Bullet Club]

Stardom Cinderella Tournament Round 1 results 10/4/2021
Stardom Cinderella Tournament Round 1 results #Stardom 10/4/2021
First round of the 2021 Took place early in the morning for us UK fans and there was two changes to the card, the Pre Show match was changed to a singles bout and Saki Kashima was unwell and was replaced with Rina. The next round takes place on the 30th April at Korakuen Hall. Some interesting first round bouts, Fukigen Death‘s first match with Odeo Tai resulted in a defeat and I expected…

STARDOM
This weekend was Bushiroad’s, as STARDOM held residency for two nights at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan. Quite a bit went on here, not the least of which, the return of KAIRI to the STARDOM ring. You can still see this on PPV for a limited time.
STARDOM World Climax 2022 The Best - 3/26/2022, Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan
Future of Stardom Championship: Hanan [STARS] © d. Rina [Oedo Tai] (Backdrop Hold, 7:05) - Hanan succeeds her 3rd defense
MIRAI [Donna del Mondo] d. Saya Iida [STARS] (Miramare, 10:23)
6-Woman Tag Gauntlet Match: Himeka, Natsupoi & Mai Sakurai [Donna del Mondo] d. Mina Shirakawa, Waka Tsuiyama & Momo Kohgo [Cosmic Angels] and Saki Kashima, Fukigen Death & Ruaka [Oedo Tai] and AZM, Lady C & Miyu Amasaki [Queen’s Quest] - Order of Eliminations: - Kashima > Tsukiyama, My Emblem, 4:09 - AZM > Kashima, 2:39 - Himeka > C, JP Coaster, 3:10
Risa Sera & Suzu Suzuki [Prominence] d. Maika & Thekla [Donna del Mondo] (Suzuki > Thekla, German Suplex Hold, 10:27)
Goddesses of Stardom Championship: Starlight Kid & Momo Watanabe [Oedo Tai] d. Hazuki & Koguma [STARS] © (Watanabe > Koguma, Momo Thunder, 14:08) - Koguma/Hazuki fail their 3rd defense - Kid/Watanabe are the 23rd champions
Pirate Princess STARDOM Revival: Mayu Iwatani [STARS] & KAIRI d. Tam Nakano & Unagi Sayaka [Cosmic Angels] (Iwatani > Sayaka, Moonsault Press, 17:36)
Wonder of Stardom Championship: Saya Kamitani [Queen’s Quest] © d. Utami Hayashishita [Queen’s Quest] (Phoenix Splash, 27:11) - Kamitani succeeds her 3rd defense
World of Stardom Championship: Syuri [Donna del Mondo] © d. Giulia [Donna del Mondo] (26:54) - Syuri succeeds her 2nd defense
Syuri defeats her now-former stablemate, whilst also introducing her new bodyguard, Ami Miura, a freelancer who debuted in 2020, having worked nearly every other joshi promotion except STARDOM to date, in addition to matches in GLEAT and Real Japan. After the match, Syuri declared she would be forming her own unit, and she didn’t care what the rest of Donna del Mondo did, as far as she was concerned, DdM was finished. Funny how that did not seem to extend to QQ, as apparently Kamitani & Hayashishita are still cool with each other.
KAIRI returned home, after her stint in WWE from 2017-2020, and having not wrestled at all in 2021. She returned victorious, with her former partner/sempai, Mayu Iwatani.
Prominence gets the victory over DdM, but it’s really Giulia they want...
STARDOM World Climax 2022 The Top - 3/27/2022, Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan
Future of Stardom Championship: Hanan [STARS] © d. Mai Sakurai [Donna del Mondo] (German Suplex Hold, 6:20) - Hanan succeeds her 4th defense
Cinderella Rumble: Mei Suruga d. Unagi Sayaka, Mina Shirakawa, Ai Houzan, Maria, Momo Kohgo, Saya Iida, Aoi, Tomoka Inaba, Nanami, Haruka Umesaki, Lady C, Rina, Saki Kashima, Ruake, Waka Tsukiyama, Yuna Mizumori & Miyu Amasaki (25:24)
Utami Hayashishita [Queen’s Quest] d. MIRAI [Donna del Mondo] (Rear-naked Choke, 11:22)
Momo Watanabe [Oedo Tai] d. Hazuki [STARS] (Momo Sunrise, 12:19)
High Speed Championship 3-Way Match: AZM [Queen’s Quest] © d. Koguma [STARS] v. Natsupoi [Donna del Mondo] (AZM > Natsupoi, Azumisushi, 8:10) - AZM succeeds her 1st defense
Pirate Princess STARDOM Revival: KAIRI d. Starlight Kid [Oedo Tai] (Insane Elbow, 17:51)
Giulia, Maika, Himeka & Thekla [Donna del Mondo] d. Risa Sera, Suzu Suzuki, Akane Fujita & Mochi Miyagi [Prominence] (Giulia > Miyagi, Northern Lights Bomb, 16:03)
Wonder of Stardom Championship: Saya Kamitani [Queen’s Quest] © d. Tam Nakano [Cosmic Angels] (21:10) - Kamitani succeeds her 4th defense
World of Stardom Championship: Syuri © v. Mayu Iwatani [STARS] (White Tiger, 28:57) - Syuri succeeds her 3rd defense
Syuri ends the weekend with her title reign intact, even if her unit is not. Indeed, only one title change this entire weekend, the Goddesses of Stardom, as Odeo Tai won those on yesterday’s event.
KAIRI wrestled her first singles match since 2020, and in the process, ruptured her eardrum, so she will be out for a few months. Still, as returns go, hers was a pretty spectacular one.
Many of the wrestlers in the Cinderella Rumble are not with STARDOM; I really just don’t feel like putting their respective units/companies in, sorry. Giulia vents her frustration on Prominence, so the point has been made. I am sure this feud will continue in the weeks and months to come.
STARDOM returns next Sunday 4/3/2022 from Tachikawa, the start of the Cinderella Tournament 2022.

New Japan Pro Wrestling
We have a winner in the New Japan Cup 2022, with two shows from Osaka-jo Hall you can see now on NJPWWorld.
- 3/26/2022, Osaka Osaka-jo Hall
Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, Gedo, Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo [Bullet Club] d. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tama Tonga [GoD], Tanga Loa [GoD], Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato (Owens > Tanahashi, DQ, 9:08)
Toru Yano [CHAOS], Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS] & Togi Makabe d. Taichi, Minoru Suzuki & Yoshinobu Kanemaru [SZKG] (Yano > Kanemaru, Schoolboy, 9:13)
SHO, EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi [Bullet Club] d. El Desperado, TAKA Michinoku & DOUKI [SZKG] (EVIL > TAKA, EVIL STO, 9:45)
CIMA, T-Hawk & El Lindaman [#STRONGHEARTS] d. Hirooki Goto [CHAOS], Tomoaki Honma & Tiger Mask IV (T-Hawk > Tiger, Night Ride, 9:26)
Jeff Cobb & Great O-Khan [United Empire] d. YOSHI-HASHI & YOH [CHAOS] (O-Khan > YOH, Eliminator, 13:23)
Will Ospreay & Aaron Henare [United Empire] d. Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI [Los Ingobernables] (Henare > BUSHI, Streets Of Rage, 7:10)
New Japan Cup 2022 Semifinal: Zack Sabre Jr. [SZKG] d. Shingo Takagi [Los Ingobernables] (Referee Stoppage, 19:24)
New Japan Cup 2022 Semifinal: Tetsuya Naito [Los Ingobernables] d. Kazuchika Okada [CHAOS] (Polvo de Estrella, 27:42)
Naito gets a direct win over the reigning World Heavyweight Champion on his way to the Final, whilst ZSJ gets one over the previous champion, and Cup finalist from last year. I maybe fear Shingo isn’t going to have as big a year as 2021 was for him. EVIL and the House of Torture attacked Hiromu post-match.
On to today’s Final..
- 3/27/2022, Osaka Osaka-jo Hall
BUSHI [Los Ingobernables] d. Kosei Fujita (Boston Crab, 7:20)
Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, Gedo, Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo [Bullet Club] d. Tama Tonga [GoD], Tanga Loa [GoD], Jado [GoD], Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato (Gedo > Jado, C-Trigger [Owens], 9:53)
Taichi, Minoru Suzuki & Yoshinobu Kanemaru [SZKG] d. Toru Yano, Tomohiro Ishii & YOH [CHAOS] (Taichi > YOH, Yokozuna Elbow, 8:04)
SHO & Yujiro Takahashi [Bullet Club] d. El Desperado & TAKA Michinoku [SZKG] (SHO > TAKA, Snakebite, 0:37)
Jeff Cobb, Great O-Khan, Will Ospreay & Aaron Henare [United Empire] d. Hirooki Goto [CHAOS], YOSHI-HASHI [CHAOS], Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma (Cobb > Honma, Tour Of The Islands, 10:26)
Hiromu Takahashi & Shingo Takagi [Los Ingobernables] d. EVIL & Dick Togo [Bullet Club] (Hiromu > Togo, EVIL STO, 7:45)
Kazuchika Okada [CHAOS], Hiroshi Tanahashi, Satoshi Kojima & Tiger Mask IV d. Tatsumi Fujinami [Dradition], CIMA [#STRONGHEARTS], T-Hawk [#STRONGHEARTS] & El Lindaman [#STRONGHEARTS] (Okada > T-Hawk, Rainmaker, 14:18)
New Japan Cup 2022 Final: Zack Sabre Jr. [SZKG] d. Tetsuya Naito [Los Ingobernables] (Sabre Driver [You Spin Me Round Techno Remix], 24:43) - Sabre wins the New Japan Cup 2022
ZSJ wins his second ever New Japan Cup, having also won it in 2018. Hopefully this satisfies the people who were whinging online when he didn’t win G1 Climax 31. Kazuchika Okada was champion then as well. Sabre lost that title challenge at Ryogoku. History may or may not repeat itself at the finale of Hyper Battle ’22. Naito still does have a challenge against Okada back-pocketed, should Sabre fail to beat Okada when that title match does come.
Hiromu challenged EVIL for the NEVER title. Cobb & O-Khan challenged Bishamon for their tag titles. SHO once again demanded a challenge for Despy’s belt. Taichi attacked Yano, whilst Suzuki & Ishii got into it post-match.
Tatsumi Fujinami is getting around this week, appearing with #STRONGHEARTS today after being at AJPW’s Champions Night 3 this past Monday. As for #STRONGHEARTS, who knows if/when they will return, or if/when there will be any future co-working between NJPW and GLEAT... (T-Hawk will still never happen.)
Looking ahead on the schedule, Wrestling Dontaku is at the Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome on 5/1/2022, instead of the traditional 5/3 date. There will also not be a Road to Dontaku tour this time, nor will there be a Wrestling Hi no Kuni or any of the other special dates that usually happen around Dontaku time. Instead, the Golden Fight Series will happen from 4/18 – 4/28/2022. Best of the Super Juniors 29 will also be back in its usual slot during May, running from 5/15 – 6/3/2022. Which is kind of a shame, I kind of enjoyed it running in tandem with World Tag League the last couple of years, but between lockdowns and Olympics (two years running), changes had to be made, and now the schedule is getting back to a semblance of normalcy.
Tumblr media
Last night’s NJPW Strong episode wrapped up the Rivals tapings from LA this past February.
Daniel Garcia [AEW] d. Yuya Uemura (10:39)
Black Tiger [Team Filthy] d. Rocky Romero [CHAOS] (11:02)
Elimination Tag Match: “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, JR Kratos, Royce Isaacs, Jorel Nelson & Danny Limelight [Team Filthy] d. Fred Rosser, Clark Connors, Taylor Rust, Adrian Quest & The DKC - Order of Eliminations: - Isaacs/Nelson > DKC, 6:00 - Quest > Limelight, 6:51 - Rosser > Isaacs, 8:09 - Nelson > Rosser, 8:44 - Rust > Nelson, 9:52 - Connors <> Lawlor, 12:00 - Kratos > Rust, 14:46 - Kratos > Quest, 16:29
Team Filthy looking the better tonight, winning both their matches, although Rocky Romero beat the shit out of Black Tiger and put him in the Diablo Armbar post-match. Garcia v. Uemura looked really really good.
I shouldn’t figure next week’s episode will start the Strong Style Evolved tapings from last Sunday.
The next NJPW show will be Lonestar Shootout, as part of Wrestlemania Weekend down in Dallas. Part of the show will air live on FITE TV, with later VOD on NJPWWorld; the rest will be taped for NJPW Strong. It’s kind of confusing, honestly. So below, the ones in italics will be the taping, the rest will be live on FITE. There will also be a whole lot of Minoru Suzuki in the USA coming up, so that’ll be fun again. The next show in Japan is not until 4/3/2022, the start of Hyper Battle ’22, but those lineups are not announced yet. Probably tonight/tomorrow.
Lonestar Shootout - 4/1/2022, Fairmont Hotel, Dallas, TX (FITE TV / NJPW Strong Taping)
Ren Narita v. Rocky Romero [CHAOS]
Juice Robinson, David Finlay Jr., Daniel Garcia [AEW] & Kevin Knight v. Mascara Dorada, Karl Fredericks, Clark Connors & Yuya Uemura
Killer Kross [FREE] v. Minoru Suzuki [SZKG]
“Speedball” Mike Bailey [FREE] v. Jay White [Bullet Club]
Chris Dickinson v. Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS]
JONAH v. Blake Christian
Alex Coughlin, Fred Rosser & The DKC v. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, JR Kratos & Royce Isaacs [Team Filthy]

DDT / Tokyo Joshi
DDT and its subsidiary promotion Tokyo Joshi Pro returned to action after last weekend’s stint at Sumo Hall. The weekend’s shows started with TJPW saying goodbye to Nodoka Tenma.
TJPW Spring Tour ‘22 - 3/26/2022, Tokyo Otemachi Mitsui Hall (Wrestle Universe)
Hikari Noa d. Kaya Toribami (Blizzard Suplex, 6:16)
Hyper Misao & Miu Watanabe d. Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu (Misao > Harajuku, Hypami Returns, 11:05)
3-Way Match: Rika Tatsumi d. Nao Kakuta & Haruna Neko (Tatsumi > Neko, Dragon Sleeper, 10:07)
Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Raku d. Maki Itoh, Yuki Kamifuku & Marika Kobashi (Sakazaki > Kobashi, Mil Clutch Alpha, 14:01)
Princess Tag Team Championship Next Challenger Decision Match: Suzume & Arisu Endo d. Yuki Arai & Moka Miyamoto (Suzume > Arai, Ring A Bell, 12:42)
Nodoka Tenma Farewell Match: Shoko Nakajima & Miyu Yamashita d. Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino (Nakajima > Tenma, Diving Senton, 20:27)
Nodoka Tenma (and therefore the Bakuretsu Sisters) has wrestled her final match. It was not without incident, as Hyper Misao and Pom Harajuku both took Tetsuya Koda hostage, but Tenma would not change her mind. Tenma asked that TJPW take care of Yuki Aino. Aino, in return, challenged Shoko Nakajima for the Princess of Princess title. Arisuzu get their win back over Arai/Miyamoto from the Max Heart tournament, and now are the next challengers to the Magical Sugar Rabbits’ titles.
DDT itself returned yesterday from Korakuen Hall, a show with multiple title matches and announcements.
DDT Day Dream Believer 2022 - 3/27/2022, Tokyo Korakuen Hall (Wrestle Universe)
Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship: Antonio Honda © d. Pokotan (Crushed La Magistral Cradle, 7:16) - Honda succeeds his ?th defense
Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship: Shinichiro Kawamtasu d. Antonio Honda © (Pinfall) - Honda fails his ?th defense - Kawamatsu is the 1548th champion
Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi, Saki Akai & Hideki Okatani [Eruption] d. HARASHIMA, Tou Owashi, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida [DISASTER BOX] (OKatani > Ishida, Diving Knee Drop, 6:30)
Danshoku Dino & Yumehito Imanari [Pheromones] d. Daisuke Sasaki & Minoru Fujita [DAMNATION TA] (Dino > Sasaki, DQ, 7:21)
Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya & Akito d. Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi & Soma Takao (Naya > Takanashi, Cobra Twist, 9:03)
Kazuki Hirata d. Jun Akiyama [Burning] (Got 3 Questions Correct, 10:18)
DDT Universal Championship: MAO [The 37KAMIINA] © d. Michael Nakazawa [AEW] (Super Michinoku Driver II, 9:26) - MAO succeeds his 1st defense
DDT Extreme Championship O-Back Ladder Match: Yuki Iino [Pheromones] © d. Shunma Katsumata [The 37KAMIINA] (Phermone Magic, 15:01) - Iino succeeds his 1st defense
Konosuke Takeshita, Yuki Ueno & Toi Kojima [The 37KAMIINA] d. Tetsuya Endo, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku [Burning] (Kojima > Koroku, Triangle Choke, 22:11)
A new KO-D Openweight title belt was revealed, with Tetsuya Endo being the first to hold it. He will go against Yuki Ueno for that belt on 5/1/2022 at Yokohama Budokan. MAO’s next defense will be against Asuka on 5/1 as well. I have no idea what the Hirata v. Akiyama match was supposed to be. A trivia contest?
As expected, Konosuke Takeshita is headed to AEW in April for an excursion. He’s already appeared in AEW, back in April 2021, for two episodes of Dark: Elevation, and the House Always Wins house show, during which he sided with Kenny Omega and the Elite. No word on how long this excursion will be.
Jun Akiyama’s 30th Anniversary show will be on 9/18/2022 from Tokyo Korakuen Hall. I would assume wrestlers from NOAH will be there, seeing as DDT and NOAH have the same ownership; it would be nice if AJPW talents appeared as well, considering Takao Omori already teamed with Akiyama at Ryogoku last weekend.

All Japan Pro Wrestling

I confess I have no idea what these titles are, or whom even TAJIRI’s opponent was. I remember the Corona Premier title was supposed to be defended at a show earlier this year but that got postponed/cancelled due to numerous positive COVID-19 cases. Yoshitatsu at the very least got some revenge against one of the men who betrayed him for KAZMA SAKAMOTO.
[EDIT: TAJIRI’s opponent was Rekka, a Taiwanese wrestler currently signed to OWE, who’s also worked other Japanese companies i.e. Ryukyu Dragon. The title is from Austrian promotion European Wrestling Association, based in Vienna. This was TAJIRI’s first defense of the title since 8/30/2020. He’s held it since 7/5/2019. This is clearly on a lucha level of Not Caring About Your Titles for a promotion. As for the Corona Premier Intercontinental title, that one doesn’t even have a Cagematch entry, so your guess is as good as mine.]

With the last week or so of results, I am convinced that both Naruki Doi and Riki Iihashi are either out injured or tested positive/were exposed to a positive case. Riki Iihashi isn’t as noticeable, however Doi disappearing off the cards right when his new unit had a big launch is a little surprising. I’m telling you, Jason Lee & Ho Ho Lun as a team are where it’s at…
The next tour, Gate Of Passion 2022, starts next Saturday 4/2/2022. The next livestreamed show will be on 4/7/2022 from Tokyo Korakuen Hall, the Final Burst Out! K-Ness Forever show with K-Ness’s retirement match. There will also be a Korakuen Hall show on 4/25/2022 which will supposedly determine the fate of “who gets Jason Lee,” which seems like a lot of not giving Jason Lee agency here.

Atsushi Onita revived his Great Nita parody character last night in Philadelphia, for an outfit called Battleground Championship Wrestling from the 2300 Arena, in a losing match against Bully Ray. I know nothing about this show or match besides these facts, and that it was apparently awful, and I still feel like I am having a stroke writing these words. Bully Ray was seconded by Sabu and the Sandman, Onita by Super Leather. Let’s move on shall we?
Yuko Miyamoto remains BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Champion, defeating Akira Hyodo in a Super G-Shock Deathmatch earlier today at BJW’s Death Market 66 event at Aichi Nagoya Club Diamond Hall.
