I’m inclined to think GW (are we supposed to only be using her initials here?? 🤨) not being Latina wouldn’t necessarily have been a problem. If it weren’t for the fact that the script clearly wants to point out the fact that Ana is Latina. You could argue her entire relationship with Eddie is based on that fact. And although she is very pretty (I’m not blind! 😌), I don’t think her appearance is that mind-boggling/ unique that it’s worth making the sacrifice of casting an actress that isn’t Latina? (In comparison: the role of Christopher is a very clear and obvious example in which the Latino element isn’t as important. Since CP in itself is rare enough, I mean. 🤌)

-> For the record, this isn’t meant to be rude. And I’m not Latina nor do I know a lot about Latina actresses! 😅 But the actress that portrays Ana actually reminds me a lot of Onahoua Rodriguez (who I know from Cold Case in a ehh very different role 🙃). Yeah, she might be a bit too old... but on the other hand, 9-1-1 has a track record for casting actresses who are significantly older than their on-screen counterparts. 😉

Again: no hate against the actress, the role or women in general. (Women are awesome 😊.) I was just entertaining all possibilities. 🤔

This is kinda a mess. If Ana is supposed to be a Latina, they should have cast a Latina to play her. There is no level of hot that would excuse that.

And there are Latino/biracial kids with CP that could have played Christopher!! The fact that Chris’s actor has CP doesn’t excuse the show for not casting a Latinx actor in the role (assuming that the actor isn’t Latinx because I don’t know)
