Corsican Deer Observatories by Orma Architettura
source: uncrate
Placed throughout the Regional Natural Park of Corsica, Orma Architettura has designed three Deer Observatories. The wooden towers are situated on elevated clearings on the French island including St Pierre de Venaco, Castifao, and Quenzato, to take advantage of the area's high concentration of passing deer. Each lookout was built by local artisans and features a rectilinear form made from timber slats. The small openings between planks allow for those inside to view the wildlife without disrupting the roaming creatures. With the red deer recently reintroduced to the area, the project aims to raise awareness about the species and their fragile existence.
