태국 국영에너지기업 PTTEP, 미얀마 가스전 계약 갱신 가능성 언급

[애드쇼파르] 2023년 10월 2일 태국 국영에너지기업 PPTEP CEO Montri Rawanchaikul은 미얀마 가스전 두곳에 대한 계약 갱신 가능성에 대해서 언급하였다. 정확한 가스전을 언급하지 않았지만 기존 가스전 계약 중 하나는 2028년에 끝나고 추가 하나는 20년 후 끝난다고 설명하였다. 미얀마 가스전은 미얀마 전력 소비량의 50%, 태국 전력 소비량의 20%를 차지하고 있는 중요한 부분 이기 때문에 확장 보다는 태국-미얀마에 필요한 가스를 확보하는데 중점을 두고 있다고 밝혔다. 태국의 경우 앞으로 현재 소비량의 약 40%인 4천입방피트의 LNG를 수입해야 하는 상황이라고 하며 말레이시아도 가스 추출을 통해 LNG 공급이 가능할 것으로 보고 있어 탐사를 하고 있다고 한다.
