KVBeats feat. Phantasm, Recognize Ali & Beneficence - "Nobody Put Me On"
Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, producer KVBeats returns with a banging album, coming off the success of his critically acclaimed debut album "The Résumé" (2010). His dope collaborations with some of the best veteran spitters around (Royce Da 5'9"", Slum Village, Mic Geronimo, Pacewon, Oddisee, Prince Po, Smooth Da Hustler etc.) gained the passionate vinyl enthusiast airplay on prestigious radio shows like DJ Premier's "Live From HeadQCourterz" and "Late Night With Peter Rosenberg".
Referring to his real life as a father and husband, KV brings a stellar line up of guest appearances on his brand new LP entitled "The Breadwinner", including lyrical heavyweights like Royce Da 5'9"", AG (of D.I.T.C.), Torae, Percee P, Reks, Beneficence, Little Vic, Pacewon, Chaundon, Phantasm (of Cella Dwellas), Rashad (of Rashad & Confidence) and hardworking Ghanaian newcomer Recognize Ali.
KV's raw and dusty true school sound, crafted with the help of soulful samples and hard-hitting drums, gives hip-hop listeners the essence of traditional boom bap while also bringing a contemporary flavor to it.

This narrative reveals the hidden dynamics between Eminem and Pacewon during his early days in the hip-hop scene of Newark, often referred to as Brick City. In the era of artists like Redman, Newark was a hub for raw and innovative talent. Among them were notable names like Rah Digga, who, along with others, formed a tight-knit community of artists pushing the boundaries of rap.
Tha Outsidaz was founded by Young Zee and Pacewon, two rappers from Newark. The group eventually expanded to include a larger roster of members such as Rah Digga, who later gained her own fame as a solo artist. Each member brought their unique style and perspective to the group, making Tha Outsidaz known for their diverse approaches to hip-hop and their raw, unfiltered lyrical content.
Eminem, eager to secure a record deal, believed that his chances would improve if he were part of a group rather than as a solo act. Motivated by this, he traveled to New Jersey to connect with Pacewon and the Outsidaz, a move that significantly shaped his style and career. Their unique approach to lyrics and rhythm, marked by complex syllable structures, influenced Eminem's own musical style, which he later became famous for.
Despite Eminem's admiration for their skills, it became clear that he was not on the same level as these local talents initially. However, his time with them honed his abilities. The relationship was mutually beneficial at first, with Eminem gaining credibility and connections in the East Coast hip-hop scene through his association with the Outsidaz.
However, as Eminem's career took off, his ties with the Outsidaz and Pacewon faded. Despite early shout-outs in his tracks, as his fame grew, mentions and collaborations with the Outsidaz dwindled. This shift left a feeling of betrayal among the group, who felt used by Eminem as a stepping stone.
Pacewon expressed his feelings of abandonment through his music, releasing tracks that subtly addressed his disappointment with how Eminem distanced himself after achieving fame. Despite this, Eminem eventually recognized the contributions of the Outsidaz in later works, hinting at a reconciliation or at least an acknowledgment of his roots and the people who helped him along the way.
This story encapsulates the complexities of relationships in the music industry, where collaboration and mentorship can sometimes lead to feelings of betrayal when commercial success rearranges loyalties.

New to Bandcamp.  “Dopeliss” by rapper / producer Az Izz of legendary New Jersey group “The Outsidaz” who at one time included Rah Digga, Pacewon, Young Zee, Slang Ton and D.U. in their numbers.
The new album released through New Dawn Records is largely self produced with further beats supplied by DJ Profluent, Qua Z Mo and DJ 3rdRell.  Featured artists include several of The Outsidaz crew together with Drift, Jaja Kenyatta, Nam and more.
From the old to the new, boom bap to electro bangers, this is east coast hip hop through the ages.

I first saw the Fugees in 94 in some basement club in Soho in NYC, I remember it so well as they were blistering good live and they had live instruments and had 3 stars in Lauryn , Wyclef and Pras. David Sonnenberg was at the gig , they had the debut record out and it was not happening commercially or critically. This was 94. David the manager asked me to tell The President of Columbia Donnie Ienner what I saw and how blown away I was. So the next day, I go in Donnie’s office and tell how blown away I was at their gig. Donnie was literally surprised and asked me over and over - Really that good? And I have to say that Donnie and Columbia Records took this record , their brilliant sophomore record through the roof globally ! This record is so much more that #killingmesoftly or #readyornot and so happy to hear about their reunion Enjoy (at Hollywood Hills) https://www.instagram.com/p/CU3tRsdlM_E/?utm_medium=tumblr
