Guille Olivera presenta su segundo álbum “Ojalá Fuera Ficción” en la sala Hugo Balzo del SODRE. El espectáculo será el domingo 05 de mayo a las 20hs; las entradas ya están en venta en Tickantel. “Ojalá Fuera Ficción” es el nuevo álbum jazz rock del trombonista Guille Olivera, compuesto y grabado durante la crisis hídrica que afectó al país en 2023. Se trata de un álbum instrumental que se distingue por su narrativa, inspirada en los sucesos que han marcado a Uruguay en los últimos años. Ya disponible para escuchar en Spotify, Youtube y otras plataformas, el reciente lanzamiento incorpora un formato original en su integración, que reúne a cuatro destacados músicos: Guille Olivera en trombón, Darwin Silva en teclados, Rodrigo Calzada en bajo y Sebastián Macció en batería. El show de esa noche, además, contará con una intervención de danza contemporánea con la bailarina invitada Paula Rodhe. Sobre Guille Olivera: En sus inicios, Guille Olivera estudió trombón y teoría musical con Martín Morón y estuvo dos años activo en la Orquesta Juvenil del SODRE. En 2013 tocó con “La Orquestita” de Leo Masliah y fundó junto a un colectivo liderado por Leo Méndez “La Ventolera”, banda referente del candombe en la actualidad que lleva editados cuatro álbumes y una presencia muy activa por Montevideo y la región. A lo largo de su carrera Olivera ha tocado con la AUDEM BigBand incluyendo presentaciones en la Zitarrosa, el SODRE y actuaciones junto a Rada y Fattoruso. Entre 2018 y 2019 participó en cinco conciertos con La Triple Nelson, en lugares como el Solís, el SODRE y el Montevideo Rock. En 2019, Olivera presentó en el JazzTour “Made in Uruguay” su proyecto “Trombón Banda”, una fusión de canciones de jazz-rock. El álbum que recoge estas canciones se editó en formato físico y digital en 2021. En 2022, grabó y publicó el sencillo “Futurizar Nuestro Destino” con Papina de Palma y Hugo Fattoruso. Durante ese año, concursó e ingresó a la Orquesta Institucional de UTU. En paralelo, Guille Olivera siguió trabajando como sesionista con diversos artistas, como la colaboración internacional con Flora Martínez y José Reinoso (Acá Entre Nos, 2020), conciertos con el Hot Club (2016 Festival de Jazz de La Pedrera, 2019 Jazz a la Calle, 2023 sala Vaz Ferreira), actuaciones periódicas como solista con el Maestro Vergara y la Orquesta de Tala, la celebración de los 45 años de Larbanois&Carrero en el Antel Arena en 2022, presentaciones junto a Papina de Palma en el Solís y Sala del Museo, entre otras. El verano de 2023 nos esta dando tantas alegrías que difícilmente se nos olvidará. Hoy recibimos con todo el cariño del mundo a Edu Errea, quien desde hoy pasa a formar parte de la familia MusicHunters. Quién no conozca aún a Edu Errea decirle que esta ante un proyecto de esos que hacen música desde el corazón. Canciones que nacen de vivencias propias y que cada persona que las escucha se siente tan identificado que las termina haciendo suyas.

Escuchar a Edu Errea es darnos un paseo por las praderas que jalonan el paisaje de Norteamérica, lo unico que sin salir de su Navarra natal. Rock americano con reminiscencias de Wilco o My Morning Jacket pero llevadas hacia su propio universo. Con solo dos trabajos publicados, y uno más que se está terminando de hacer en el horno, Edu Errea se presenta como uno de esos trovadores que desde el lado independiente de la industria se hace un hueco dentro del panorama musical nacional.

La discografía de Edu Errea se encuentra conformada por dos trabajo de una enorme calidad. ¨Travelling¨ (2018) fue el primer trabajo discográfico del navarro. 12 canciones que reflejan distintas épocas de su vida, pero a la vez es la historia de alguien que decide dar un cambio de rumbo, en busca de la autenticidad, de vivencias. Cada canción es un episodio, una reflexión, una historia de amor, una historia de desamor, o simplemente, un deseo.

¨Just a Dream¨ (2021) le toma el relevo con una compilación de diez canciones donde el mejor folk y la mejor música de raíces hacen de su escucha una auténtica delicia. Este trabajo donde sueños y esperanzas conviven de la mano con pesadillas y fracasos tuvo a Paco Loco al mando de las operaciones en la producción, grabación, mezclas e incluso aporto su granito de arena en varias guitarras eléctricas. Edu Errea se ha rodeado para la grabación de su nuevo disco (y posterior) gira de tres grandes músicos todos ellos muy conocidos en la escena navarra: Javier Induráin (Andrea Santiago, Innerve, Nuevos Hobbies...), Carlos Colina (Innerve, Colina...) y Xabier Jareño (Nuevos Hobbies...). Ellos son el complemento perfecto a las canciones de Edu Errea. Sin duda dos cartas de presentación con una calidad suficiente para que el ávido oyente tenga muchas ganas de recibir el tercer trabajo del músico navarro.

There are SO many fun and interesting places to visit on excursions here and, even if we’ve been there before, we always find something new to explore.  Today the taxi dropped us off on Montjuic and we walked down through Placa Espanya (Plaza Espana in Castillan).  We walked by crowds of people enjoying the sunshine and at the Magic Fountain there was a man blowing huge bubbles, which floated on the wind and delighted the children, who tried to catch them.  Bruce was famished and wanted a snack so we walked over to Las Arenas shopping Center. 

This building used to be a bullfight ring and I’m so grateful that bullfighting here in Catalunya (Catalonia in Spanish) was outlawed for a while and the arena was converted into a shopping center.  According to Wikipedia:

“Plaza de toros de las Arenas was a bullring in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Over the years it featured numerous musical artists, including Carlos Santana and Paco de Lucia in 1977. It opened on June 29, 1900, and its last bullfight was held on June 19, 1977. The building was reopened in 2011 as a shopping mall named Arenas de Barcelona.

The plaza de Las Arenas opened in 1900. It was mainly used for boxing or free fights. In 1927, when it became the property of rich entrepreneur Pedro Balañá, the Arenas were remodeled into a bullfight arena. During the Civil War, the building was occupied by anti-fascist militias. Bullfights went on during the Franco era. In the 1960s, North-American and European tourism grew around bullfights in Spain. The last fight took place in 1977.

We took the outside elevator to the top and had a 360 degree view of the city from the walkway up there.

Then we went inside and searched for a cafe with a croissant.  There was more going on for families than just shopping because on the ground floor they had created what appeared to be ponds with colored lights for the children to play in.  I love the way kids are centered in this culture and everywhere we go families are out enjoying their free time together.
