Today i ran my third half marathon with almost 4000 runners who came from the whole globe. The streets of bethlehem was full, the people was so cheerful and most important i ran with my family to inspire the other families too. Countdown to Marathon: 52 days

Training is going reasonably well, I have been getting back into running every day, just really have to push out the longer runs. Did 8 km yesterday extremely slowly, going to do 10 kilometers today. 

Also started thinking about race nutrition and realized how important it is, so trying to keep myself fulled with the right kind of food!

Goal for this weekend is to run 15 kilometers.

Nadine lives and works in Jerusalem and will be running the 10k race tomorrow. She is motivated to run not only for fitness, but to inspire other hijabi women to engage in sports, and to challenge the perception of muslims in this part of the world.

a marathon like no other

The first ever Palestine marathon was held in Bethlehem in 2013. The complicated boundaries with Israel have constrained the course to a mere ten-kilometre stretch, meaning that participants must complete the route four times in order to run a full marathon. Forced to conform to the unique political geography of the West Bank, the course follows sections of the West Bank barrier, passing alongside baleful Israeli guard towers and sentry guns, before pushing through the narrow roads of Bethlehem’s refugee camps. To run here is a powerful symbolic act, and one that highlights the pervasive sense of restriction that Palestinians experience daily.

Countdown to Marathon: 2 months excatly.

I've been sick and my running partner just sprained his ankle - but the marathon is in 2 months, so it really is now or never.
