Hey dolls!!! Hope your day is going good. Today is going good for me… low pain, day high spoon day, and new makeup was delivered today…. I slept in until 8:30 am today…. I hate getting a late start to the day but my body really needed the extra sleep.
I’m having a bad hair day, but I really love how my makeup turned out today… so let’s get into it…..
Tumblr media
Base:  I primed using the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer ($38 on their website). I primed my pores and the space between my brows with ELF Poreless Putty Primer ($8 on their website). I color corrected using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in Light-Medium. For foundation I picked Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation ($39 at Ulta, Sephora, and their website) in 41 NN. I concealed my under eyes with Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer ($22 at Ulta) in No 5. I set my under eye area with RCMA No Color Powder ($15 at the Beautylish website) and set the rest of my face using Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte 16-HR Powder ($7.29 at Target) in 200 Natural Beige. I warmed up the face using ColourPop Pressed Powder Bronzer ($8 on their website) in Talk to the Palm. I then baked the jaw line with more RCMA No Color Powder.
Tumblr media
Eyes: I primed my lids with Tarte Shape Tape ($28 at Ulta, Sephora, and their website) in Light-Medium Honey. For today’s eye look I used the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette ($49 at Sephora and on their website). I set the Shape Tape using Peaches ‘N Cream (a mid-toned cream matte). I chose Candied Peach (a mid-toned true coral matte) as my transition shade. As my crease color and outer 1/3 of my mobile lid I chose Summer Yum (a mid-toned terra cotta matte). On the inner 2/3 of my mobile lid I chose White Peach (a white satin). I then took a combination of Just Peachy (a pinky coral with a gold shift satin) and Bellini (a light pink with a gold reflect shimmer) and used that on my middle 1/3 to blend the outer and inner colors together. On my lower lash line I took the color  Summer Yum and then buffed that out using Candied Peach. I highlighted the inner corners with Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on their website) in Honey Dew. I lined my waterlines with The Blam Mr. Write Eyeliner Pencil ($13 on their website) in the color Seymour Datenights. I did my eyebrows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta and their website) and Benefit Gimme Brow Gel ($24 at Ulta and their website) in 4.5 and then I carved my brow line out with BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side. I then set the brow line with the color White Peach from the Sweet Peach Palette. I primed my lashes using Loreal Voluminous Primer ($6.79 at Target) and for mascara I chose The Blam What’s Your Type? ($19 on their website) in Black.
Tumblr media
Cheeks and Lips: I just can’t get enough of the Glowing in Greece palette ($16 on their website) by BH Cosmetics and so I used it again today…. for blush I am wearing a combination of Mykonos (a pale peach matte) and Santorini (an orange based coral matte). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, between my brow, above my brow bones, and the Cupid’s Bow with a combination of Athens (a pale champagne) and Olympia (a gold) highlighters from the same palette. I lined my lips with Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner ($19 at Sephora) in the color Lolita (a mauve toned nude). I filled in my lips using Too Faced Melted Matte ($21 at Ulta and their website) in the color Suck It (a berry toned brown matte) and then I topped the middle of my lips off with NARS Lip Gloss ($24 at Sephora and their website) in the color StripTease (a milky peach with gold flecks).
Final Thoughts:
Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation: A++                                                   It comes in 50 shades with 20 shades for deeper skin tones. You get 1 fluid ounce of product. I’ve already did a review on this product so i wont go into a whole thing about it…. I’ll just say I love this foundation so much …. I wish it was a tad lighter but the shade before 41 NN is too light and I refuse to buy 2 shades to mix together. I make the shade I have work. It’s light weight and beautiful on the skin. I just love the whole Naked line so much.
Tarte Sweet Peach Palette: A+++                                                                                                   You get .54 ounces of product total with this palette. It smells like candy peaches. Out of all the Too Faced palettes I own this is my favorite one. The colors are so beautiful. The shadows are pigmented and smooth. The shades blend out so perfectly. The only thing that is a down side to this palette sometimes the shadows make my inner corners of my lids itch, it’s not all the time that this happens, but it does happen. This is a great palette.
The Blam Mr. Write Eyeliner Pencil: A                                                                                        You get .012 ounces of product. It comes in 6 shades. This pencil is creamy but firm. It glides on soft with no tugging. The only down side is that it doesn’t last too long on the waterline.
The Blam What’s Your Type?: A++                                                                                                You get .40 fluid ounces with this mascara. It’s a pretty good mascara on it’s own and an amazing mascara when you pair it with a lash primer. I wasn’t sure if I liked this mascara at first or not… but I really do like it. It holds the curl, it doesn’t feel crunchy, it doesn’t flake, and it’s easy to remove.
Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner: A+                                                                                             You get .01 ounce of product. It comes in 22 shades. This lip line is super pigmented and creamy. It doesn’t pull at the lip line and glides onto the lips beautifully when you fill your lips in with it. I own several colors. It fades down nicely. It’s a good liner.
Too Faced Melted Matte: A++                                                                                                        Comes in 22 shades. You get .23 fluid ounces of product. The Melted Matte formula is one of the most comfortable mattes I have tried. It doesn’t feather. It doesn’t transfer (once it dries down). The color payoff is incredible. It fades almost completely even, it fades around the inside part of the mouth a bit faster than the rest of the lip, but it’s just a slight bit fading. I own 4 shades so I don’t think I will repurchase anytime soon… unless one of the colors happens to become a favorite of mine.
NARS Lip Gloss: A+++                                                                                                                     This lip gloss comes in 26 shades. You get .18 fluid ounces of product. This is the best gloss formula ever. It’s the only lip gloss I currently own, I decluttered all other lip glosses once I tried this formula. I own 6 glosses total with plans to purchase more for the summer. The formula has slip to it, without stickiness. The hydration lasts a long time too. I just love, love, LOVE this formula.
Tumblr media
Well that’s all for now dolls. Have an amazing rest of your day and remember…. Save a spoon for a bit of makeup.
XOXO
Peachy Eyed Face of the Day Hey dolls!!! Hope your day is going good. Today is going good for me... low pain, day high spoon day, and new makeup was delivered today....

USNEA’s New LP ‘Portals Into Futility’ is a Triumph
☿   By Adam Mundwarf   Photos by Alyssa Herrman (Foto Phortress) ⚵
As this is my first album review for Doomed and Stoned, I’d first like to extend a thanks to Billy for bringing me onboard to share a walking walls of words with you all, confabulating all things heavy and high as hell.   A little background on me here, first.   I moved to Portland two years ago from The Black Hills of South Dakota, where I played in bands all over the state since the age of 16, booked bands at the brewery I was brewing for at the time, and helped promote the local metal and punk scene of the Black Hills, for it needed (and still needs) as much support as it could get.   After a short run doing brewing stuff at Rogue Ales in Newport, Oregon and a few months up in Tacoma, Washington, the first time I visited Portland I knew that it was the place for me.  My friends in the Fire Nuns put me up on their couch for a bit while I got my shit together.   Since then, I've gotten a job as a fulltime budtender, so I sell weed -- legally -- which, as someone from South Dakota, kinda blows my mind!
I met a drummer and started Urchin.   Recently, we played the Psycho Las Vegas pool party and have been a part of a considerable amount of shows that I'd never have had the opportunity to participate in if I'd remained in that small South Dakota town of 12,000 people.   Growing up in such a desolate area of the country, I think, made it very easy to get swept up in the doom, black metal, and stoner world.   I have experienced fewer things in life more relatable to the disassociation I felt growing up in South Dakota than some of this doom shit.   I love it and I cannot wait to share with you my thoughts on some metal, so let’s get to it:
USNEA'S NEW RECORD KICKS DICK!!!
Portals Into Futility by Usnea
Allow me to elaborate on that...
It's going on about two years now, since I first saw USNEA perform.   My friend Lee, guitarist for Seattle death-grind band Theories, had just hit the road playing in Black Breath and I wanted to see him shred with his new project, as always I try to get to shows to see the entire bill -- especially if I am unfamiliar with any bands.   When Usnea started playing, I was instantly a fan.   I had seen Seattle doom dogs Bell Witch several times while living near Tacoma, and in a flash I was feeling very similar vibes to that of Usnea.   I remember how they used the openness of the sustained, droned-out, downtuned guitars and thinking how HUGE their sound was.   You could feel the sound's presence.   Plus, having two very capable vocalists in the band only enhanced my first Usnea experience, because I have heaps of respect for good vocalists (which I am not!).
Since then, I have seen Usnea numerous times, did web work for their label for a brief bit there, and caught them at Psycho Las Vegas a couple months back.   Needless to say, I stumbled upon Usnea very organically at that Black Breath show and since, Usnea has impressed me with their delightfully barbarous live shows and top-notch studio recordings, along with just being real decent human beings!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Portals Into Futility' (2017 - Relapse Records) fleshes out concepts touched on in their sophomore album 'Random Cosmic Violence' (2014), in brooding, full-dressed fashion.   It starts with an inviting, slow-rolled, mesmerizing chant which very efficiently transports you somewhere very surreal and celestial.   Quickly, we're brought into a very dismal groove, with some righteous screeching.   Ghostly trudging along with some vast palm muted sustaining tones makes you feel completely engulfed in chaos, but a chaos that’s forbearing, a chaos that is well aquatinted, a chaos that you and I, the world, and in this instance Usnea, created sonically to such great effect.
youtube
Taking on, and expanding, sci-fi concepts inspired by Ursula Le Guin, Usnea takes us across a landscaped painting of a frightening, undesirable world where we wish all civilization could be replaced with lush growth...uh, I mean "lush old growth," in classic Oregon fashion.   Although not at all losing the psychedelic, transcendental, far-out nature of their music, Portals Into Futility feels of blissfully traveling through nothingness, being lost at sea, or trapped inside a metal coffin while its being set onto a funeral pyre. To throw it back to a track off of Random Cosmic Violence: a brazen bull, while your flesh sears on the brass, your consciousness gently wanders off, and your pain threshold passed, with nothing but the low chants and glass piercing screams of Usnea to bring you comfort.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favorite track of the album happens to be its final number, “A Crown of Desolation,” based purely on how hand-over-fist the mix of Usnea, with what sounds like piano at the beginning of the song, gives off the feeling of completely being on one’s own.   There is always a very special, specific feeling whenever piano is used in the studio; it can be used like shit or it can add several levels of feels.   Euphoric piano mixed with the thick doom and blackened atmosphere Usnea creates is, I believe, unmatched through the record.   Mind you, “A Crown of Desolation” is 18 minutes long, so there are a lot of places the track takes you to here.   Though the piano may be a small bit of the song, due to its very tasteful use, but it is what makes this one stand out so much to me -- very similarly to how “Wormland” on the new Monolord record tops any of the other tracks for me, just due to the production value that the violin brings to the nature of the track.
youtube
Overall, Usnea doesn’t really break too much out of the mold they have made for themselves here, and that is just fine for a band whose first album came out just four years ago, in 2013.   I thought their sophomore effort, though a great one, seemed a little mailed in, perhaps rushed, when listening to their debut Usnea to start and then Random Cosmic Violence.   With Portals Into Futility, Usnea cements their sound -- and the band itself -- into the higher echelons of PDX doom, while expanding on concepts and growing in the studio.
Budtender's Strain Pairing Recommendation: Recon (LA confidential x Cannadential. Indica as fuck!)
Follow The Band.
Get Their Music.

From Here to Infinity
James Delbourgo, Literary Review, July 2019
From Here to InfinitySplash: The Art of the Swimming Pool By Annie Kelly (Photography by Tim Street-Porter)
The Swimming Pool in Photography By Francis Hodgson
By suspending the normal rules of earth-bound weight and motion, swimming pools bend certain rules of mental operation too, presenting possibilities for divine transformation and fatal transgression. Their creative potential often takes perverse and sometimes cruel forms. A Barbara Laing photograph from 1991 features a mule falling through the air towards a tank of water during ‘The World’s Only High-Diving Mules Show’ at the New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque. Penned into a grandstand and shading their brows, fairgoers watch expectantly. One marvels at the bizarre freak-show machinations that brought this animal to its improbable plunge.
All swimming pools, however, deal in the unnatural. Southern California is the modern heartland of this glorious folly. Roman Polanski’s Chinatown (1974), in which the diversion of water away from Owens valley to Los Angeles is likened to an incestuous act of rape, still resonates. The city is now precariously fire-whipped, yet remains irrigated by dreams of oases in the desert as architectural firms woo their clients with rippling designer status symbols, above all the almost ubiquitous infinity pool that seeks to shimmer away the very boundary between earth and heaven.
Two new books invite us to reimagine the pool’s evolving cultural status. Splash is a clinically luxurious boutique of contemporary pool design, in which people are almost wholly absent and there are in fact no splashes. By contrast, The Swimming Pool in Photography is an astonishingly rich album of boisterous visual pageantry, documenting those who frolicked about the pools of the 20th century.
The function of swimming pools has never been limited to swimming. In the introduction to Splash, Annie Kelly traces their origins back to wonders such as the Great Bath of Mohenjo-daro, built in the third millennium BC in what is now Sindh in Pakistan, which may have been religious in purpose. The Greeks and Romans built pools for athletics, hygiene, keeping fish – hence piscina – and that ambiguous activity known as bathing (Christ’s College in Cambridge still refers to its own, dating from the 17th century, as a ‘bathing pool’). Swimming was shunned by most early modern Europeans, who regarded the talents of Asian, African and American divers as prodigiously alien; the titular character of Thomas Shadwell’s mocking 1676 play The Virtuoso thus taught the theory of swimming but not its practice. It was only in the early 20th century that swimming became common in the West through programmes of mass exercise in a eugenic age ultimately haunted by fascist visions of idealised neoclassical bodies. Photographs of divers taken at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Leni Riefenstahl, who filmed Greek statues morphing into German athletes in Olympia (1938) and later shot underwater movies, document their disquieting mutation from human forms into clouds of bursting bubbles. Not for nothing did William Randolph Hearst invite Johnny Weissmuller, Olympic champion and star of Tarzan, to offer swimming lessons to guests in his Neptune pool at Hearst Castle.
While Splash’s empty pools yearn to be stared at more than swum in, The Swimming Pool in Photography glories in the giddy reveries of cavalcades of pool-goers. There are those who lie mesmerised by the sun, dying to cool off after burning up; those who perch on diving boards giggling and sipping drinks; and the many who stride the poolside like a catwalk. Pools bend the rules. Clothes slip off, skin glistens, consciousness heightens. A dreamlike scenario unfolds. Martine Franck’s photo of a boy in a hammock gazing at sunbathers round the elegant curves of Alain Capeillères’s pool in Le Brusc, near Marseilles, make those curves seem like the contours of his mind. A shot taken through the glass floor of a rooftop pool in Shanghai evokes the dream of swimming as flight by juxtaposing a swimmer with a jet tearing through the sky overhead. Yet other pools just seem extensions of everyday life. Guy Le Querrec’s portrait of Budapest’s Széchenyi Medicinal Bath features people chatting and playing chess in the water as though lounging at home on a sofa or in a social club.
Postwar American pools call up poignant visions of mass aquatic escape. These public pools were very often racially segregated, yet their promise was egalitarian. The technicolour paradise of the Tahiti Motel pool in Wildwood, New Jersey, is easily dismissed as boobish kitsch, with its palm trees drooping into a boxy, peach-tinted courtyard. But it was still an oasis. The dalliance between the pellucid and the lurid, the vulgar and the godlike, turned suburbanites into bronzed Poseidons, at least for a while. Filmmakers, however, could not resist casting swimming pools in parables not of baptismal rebirth but paradise lost. In The Swimmer, based on John Cheever’s story of the same name and released in 1968, Burt Lancaster’s fallen hero wants to swim home via a series of private suburban Connecticut pools – an unnatural ambition that symbolises his grand self-delusion. In La Piscine (1970), the pool itself turns from oasis into murderer, helping Alain Delon drown Maurice Ronet.
Despite their status as modernist exercise machines, swimming pools can still inspire baroque visions of puzzle and paradox. There are photos of cars submerged in suburban pools, ‘parked’ in the drink by drunks, and of swimmers studied by onlookers through portholes like fish in an aquarium. Leandro Erlich’s cunning 1999 installation Swimming Pool consists of a pool that contains no water except on what appears to be its surface, trapped in a thin sheet of glass, allowing fully clothed visitors to perceive water-blurred figures above and below. At the Hacienda Puerta Campeche hotel in Mexico, a ruined building has been flooded to create a fantasy where guests can walk through some rooms and swim through others. Such playful inversions of wet and dry evoke human ingenuity in mastering water yet also scriptural floods, divine punishment and ecological catastrophe. The sight of ocean waves crashing over the pool at Bondi Beach in Sydney vies with portraits of pools abandoned to weeds and cracks as images of the end of the world.
We now live in the age of the infinity pool. The bright curves, sugary tints and gay social melee of the 20th century have given way to darker, squarer tubs where the edge of the pool is designed (at least in theory) to vanish into the horizon. The jolly bourgeois riot of collective public bathing has yielded to an immersive solipsism at once outward and inward: the infinity pool bather often looks away from others to snap a selfie showcasing the view behind them. Kelly is one of the few humans to appear in Splash, photographed standing at the edge of a Balinese infinity pool, gazing out to sea, her back to the camera. Hers is a voyeuristic album of an invisible elite’s sparkling private paradises, utopias whose very form disavows social context.
If infinity pools represent one of the ways we swim now, our dreams of aquatic transformation are timeless. How we understand those dreams, however, varies. The paradoxical urge to discover something essential or transcendent about our natures through artificial waters is powerfully reasserted, for example, in Deanna Templeton’s recent portraits of individual friends swimming naked in Californian pools. These are serene, intimate and graceful. But Emma Hartvig’s group portraits of synchronised swimmers in gleaming white bathing-suits, performing their magnificent mechanical ballet, capture rather better the fact that the pool is always a work of art, not nature.

Waste-to-Energy Plants Are Crucial in the Battle against Urban Waste
Recently in a notification the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) commented that waste conversion is an urgent need for the urban centres that the regulatory bodies should look after, the CREDAI shared the guidelines stating that the builders and developer companies should pick up the location of the project by keeping in consideration the thoughts about the waste and its management along with the other adverse  effects that these residential hubs of an expanding city are capable to produce.
Tumblr media
The recent floating of this news started with the CREDAI’s notification as this was notified to them as a request of an issue to be resolved. The problem originated since the series of apartments in Sector 122, which have to face directly the garbage dump at a bigger ground fork of Gaur Chowk, in the vicinity of many other Noida Extension flats.
Other than the enlisted flats in the sector 122 vicinity there are other few nearby apartments in the Noida Extension in the near grounds of Gaur City, Exotica Dreamville, Palm Olympia, Gaur City 2, Gaur’s 14th Avenue, Gaur City Club and Saya and Aarza Square 2. The bigger problem was raised since the time when these luxury apartments were settled in front of a larger field space that is now flooded with the heap of dumps blocking the main entrances.
Commenting on the state of garbage dump ground and the notification of CREDAI for the waste crisis management, the CREDAI President, Pankaj Bajaj Eldeco for Delhi-NCR said “Waste-to-energy plants are crucial in the battle against urban waste, but their location should be better thought of. Decisions could always be reviewed.”
The request for the waste management crisis was put up when the heap of dump ground raised to a level where the balconies of these projects started to face the 25-acre plot which is now totally excavated.  The cleaning authorities have placed an explanation that says the problem is much bigger than what it was posed, the garbage has not only grown through the dumping of people but also, the settlements are in the wind’s direction which also has contributed in the growth of the garbage heap. All these apartments are located in the wind direction from the spot.
