Global Passive Fire Protection Market Industry Report: Growth Insights, Challenges & Forecast (2025)
As urban landscapes expand and building technologies evolve, fire safety has become a core priority. One of the most reliable systems gaining global momentum is Passive Fire Protection—a category of solutions built to withstand fire without any activation, offering constant protection that saves lives and assets.
Passive fire protection (PFP) is designed to prevent or slow the spread of fire through built-in materials and architectural features. Unlike active fire systems that react when a fire is detected, passive systems are always functioning, offering a foundational layer of safety in both new and existing structures.
What is Passive Fire Protection?
Passive fire protection involves the use of fire-resistant materials such as coatings, sprays, boards, sealants, and insulation to limit fire spread and protect structural integrity. These components are integrated into the walls, ceilings, and support beams of buildings, forming a first line of defense that requires no electricity, triggers, or intervention.
Market Overview: Growth at a Steady Pace
The global passive fire protection market reached a value of USD 4.8 billion in 2023 and is forecast to grow to USD 8.0 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.9%. okay, so because my soldier boy birthchart speculation went so well, i'm doing one on our angel bby boy, castiel! @pinksatinpanties, this one's for you, boo. let's dive in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌞 SUN SIGN: scorpio or pisces
scorpio sun because hello? yes. obvious choice. brooding, secretive, walking crucifix of guilt. castiel was born (figuratively) to self-destruct for love. obsessive loyalty? check. death and rebirth cycle? weekly. constantly torn between cosmic duty and forbidden attachment? that’s a scorpio main character if i’ve ever seen one. he doesn’t just fall — he plummets into every emotion like it’s the end of the world (and half the time, it is.)
scorpio suns are ruled by mars and pluto: war and transformation. castiel is literally an angel of the lord turned rebel turned god-wannabe turned dead. the man doesn’t know peace.
pisces sun is also tempting. he’s dreamy, lost, idealistic, and lets people walk all over him in the name of love. also spends 95% of his screen time staring longingly. but pisces feels a little too soft. too floaty. cas may be confused, but he’s not passive — he chooses. he breaks rules. he rebels. he rages.
final verdict: scorpio sun. he's god's most loyal soldier turned biggest disappointment. tortured, loyal, emotionally volcanic. his sun sign isn’t shining — it’s smouldering.
🌙 MOON SIGN: cancer or aquarius
cancer moon because god yes. castiel’s emotional core is a weeping shrine built out of guilt and devotion. he wants so desperately to love and be loved, but he doesn’t think he deserves it. hyper-protective of the winchesters, especially dean. his feelings are deep, secret, and catastrophically intense. he doesn’t talk about them — he bleeds them. childhood abandonment issues but make them celestial? bingo. also: the way he mothers jack? pure cancer moon (and i should know because i'm a cancer moon.)
aquarius moon's are emotionally detached, value intellect over emotion, hate vulnerability — could work for early seasons cas. explains his love for humanity in theory, not practice. but this doesn’t explain how he aches. how he breaks. how he loves like it’s killing him.
final verdict: cancer moon. his love is holy. his grief is ancient. his pain is biblical.
⬆️ RISING SIGN: virgo or capricorn
virgo rising 1000% yes. stiff. awkward. socially confused but hyper-observant. shows love by fixing things. tries to be useful to a fault. he’s the angel who stares too long, takes metaphors literally, and always looks like he’s silently judging your life choices. virgo rising people are anxious, repressed, and constantly performing competence while secretly unraveling. he is not a chaos demon. he’s chaos-adjacent. he’s an exhausted angel in a trench coat surrounded by emotional pyromaniacs.
capricorn rising: would make him colder, more image-conscious, more about legacy and stoicism. and while cas does have a strong sense of duty, he doesn’t care about power. he isn’t building an empire. he’s just trying to earn back grace he never thought he deserved.
final verdict: virgo rising. he’s divine, awkward, and trying to emotionally spreadsheet his way through the human condition.
🌟 final analysis:
castiel’s big three: scorpio sun / cancer moon / virgo rising he’s a celestial martyr with a martyr complex and a stare that could raise the dead or kill a man, depending on the day.
Tumblr media
if we had to make up a birthday...
scorpio sun (oct 23 – nov 21): needs a date that screams “emotional damage but make it loyal.”
best picks: → nov 1 – all saints’ day. tragic angel aesthetic. divine emo. → nov 5 – guy fawkes night. rebellion, fire, and bad decisions. cas-coded. → nov 11 – 11/11. angel numbers. make a wish. watch it break you.
final pick: nov 11. 11:11. make a wish. he’s already praying for you.
Tumblr media
castiel’s chart in plain english: his sun burns like vengeance. his moon sobs in the dark. his rising has a clipboard and a crisis.
✭ castiel’s big three walk into a bar: scorpio sun says: “i would die for you.” cancer moon says: “i already did.” virgo rising says: “i brought snacks and first aid.”
tl;dr: castiel is what happens when emotional repression ascends to heaven and then gets kicked out for loving too hard. he’s divine angst in a trench coat. he is not soft. he is sharp and ruined and still believes in love. his birthchart doesn’t just explain him — it absolves him.
he didn’t fall. he plummeted with purpose.
Tumblr media
in case y'all can't tell? i'm a little obsessed with astrology and i'm happy to do this for other characters (within my wheelhouse) so if you want me to do this with any of the boys/supernatural/walking dead characters... i'm all for it! <3

So
One of my favourite molecules is chlorine trifluoride
Why?
So, some background on electronegativity:
Electronegativity of an atom is the ability of the atom to pull shared electrons in a bond towards it. As such, the bigger the electronegative difference between two atoms, the closer the bond is to ionic, since the electrons get closer to the atom with the higher elctronegativity. In adition, that means that the more electronegative the atom, the more reactive it is.
So, what is chlorine trifluoride?
Chlorine trifluoride has the following molecular formula: ClF3
normally, chlorine would make only one bond, since it is a halogen. However, the fluorine, being more electronegative than chlorine, 'bullies' the chlorine and makes two bonds with one of it's electron pairs.
Fluorine is the most electronegative atom, and chlorine is the fourth. As such, it is *extremely* reactive.
Let's read parts from the wikipedia page:
Chlorine trifluoride has been investigated as a high-performance storable oxidizer in rocket propellant systems. Handling concerns, however, severely limit its use. The following passage by rocket scientist John D. Clark is widely quoted in descriptions of the substance's extremely hazardous nature:
It is, of course, extremely toxic, but that's the least of the problem. It is hypergolic with every known fuel, and so rapidly hypergolic that no ignition delay has ever been measured. It is also hypergolic with such things as cloth, wood, and test engineers, not to mention asbestos, sand, and water—with which it reacts explosively. It can be kept in some of the ordinary structural metals—steel, copper, aluminum, etc.—because of the formation of a thin film of insoluble metal fluoride that protects the bulk of the metal, just as the invisible coat of oxide on aluminium keeps it from burning up in the atmosphere. If, however, this coat is melted or scrubbed off, and has no chance to reform, the operator is confronted with the problem of coping with a metal-fluorine fire. For dealing with this situation, I have always recommended a good pair of running shoes.
The entire hazards section is *mental*
ClF3 is a very strong oxidizer. It is extremely reactive with most inorganic and organic materials and will combust many otherwise non-flammable materials without any ignition source. These reactions are often violent and in some cases explosive. Steel, copper, and nickel are not consumed because a passivation layer of metal fluoride will form which prevents further corrosion, but molybdenum, tungsten, and titanium are unsuitable as their fluorides are volatile. ClF3 will quickly corrode even noble metals like iridium, platinum, or gold, oxidizing them to chlorides and fluorides. This oxidizing power, surpassing that of oxygen, causes ClF3 to react vigorously with many other materials often thought of as incombustible and refractory. It ignites sand, asbestos, glass, and even ashes of substances that have already burned in oxygen. In one particular industrial accident, a spill of 900 kg of ClF3 burned through 30 cm of concrete and 90 cm of gravel beneath.[20][17] There is exactly one known fire control/suppression method capable of dealing with ClF3—flooding the fire with nitrogen or noble gases such as argon. Barring that, the area must simply be kept cool until the reaction ceases.[21] The compound reacts with water-based suppressors and CO2, rendering them counterproductive.[22] Exposure to larger amounts of ClF3, as a liquid or as a gas, ignites living tissue, resulting in severe chemical and thermal burns. ClF3 reacts violently with water and exposure to the reaction also results in burns. The products of hydrolysis are mainly hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid, which are usually released as steam or vapor due to the highly exothermic nature of the reaction, and these substances present hazards of their own.

((I realized I haven't done a full explanation of Maria's attacking abilities -- names of techniques, what they do, etc -- other than the basic description I listed in her bio. I'm gonna rectify that.))
((...under the cut because it's gonna get long-ish.))
Maria's abilities are -- as I said in her bio -- mostly fire-based. What techniques she has access to depends on what "form" she is in at any point in time, and how experienced she is at the moment.
As mentioned in the main bio post, Maria has a passive ability -- Flash Fire. She can absorb standard fire and utilize it as an HP boost (if harmed) or an attack boost. She can absorb half of the power of the attack while conscious, and a quarter of the attack's power while unconscious. This is true across all forms, but only works on fire in the "standard" color range. If the color of the fire is different, Maria's attempts at absorbing the fire might do more harm than good.
Her base set of attacks across all forms involves a lot of fire manipulation/magic, although the moves are named after Pokemon attacks more often than not. Will o' Wisp and Flame Charge are common go-tos. Fire Punch less so, since Maria prefers attacking from a distance.
She's also made up her own, fiery version of Shadow Ball, called "Fire Sphere." This tends to be her default attack, especially since she can manipulate this one into following her targets like a heat-seeking missile.
If she requires defense, Fire Shield -- her own form of Protect -- can manifest and serve as a defense from magic-based distance attacks. If anyone comes into physical contact with it, there is a high chance for a burn. Certain types of projectiles can also be burned to a crisp on contact, but not all.
When in her "human" (or "civilian clothes") state, if she needs access to other elements -- in her case, ice and lightning -- Maria summons a red, wooden-looking staff topped with a phoenix mid-flight. Her go-to for ice-based moves is "Icy Terrain," a move that sucks the heat out of the air and forces the water to condense into an ice rink on the ground. The ground becomes difficult terrain and, if it becomes cold enough, Maria's opponents might become stuck in place. All the heat taken from the air is stored as a charge Maria can use later, although she arguably can't hold it for long.
Electric moves come about because Maria's fiery heat changes the air to an arid state, encouraging static generation. Shock Wave, Thunderwave, and Thundershock are common moves in this state. Thunderbolt, less so -- the air needs to have a high electric charge in order for this to work.
If she can manage it, Tri-Attack -- where ice, lightning, and fire are shot off at once -- is also a possibility, but it requires a careful balance of weather and her own internal heat in order to pull it off. If the weather is unstable on its own, it's much easier to use.
When shifted to her android state, Maria's moveset changes. She loses access to her staff (and the ice and lightning techniques listed above, Tri-Attack included), but has access to other abilities as a result.
She can coat the blades in her arms with fire, creating something akin to Psycho Cut when she attacks. As she has a cannon in her right arm and the ability to cycle between basic, Stun shots, and Freeze shots, she still has access to ice and lightning, but not in the same capacity as her human state. And only her Basic, fire-based shot can be charged into a stronger form. There's been some suspicion that she could turn her Stun or Freeze shots into Charge Beam or Ice Beam if she can add a charge function to them, but she hasn't figured that out yet.
And then there's her White Flare attacks.
White Flare is a mode Maria can access in both her human form and her android form -- the term is used for her stronger attacks that require charging, or have recoil damage after she uses them.
Fire Spark (25% White Flare) -- a move that charges her fire with electricity, giving the move a chance to burn or paralyze. It's a coin flip on which status condition, but the extra effect doesn't always land.
Fire Blast (50% White Flare) -- if you're familiar with the Pokemon move, it's what it says on the tin.
Phoenix Burst (75%) -- sends a phoenix-shaped burst of fire after her opponents. May take flight herself inside the fiery construct, but that's not required for the attack to land.
White Flare (100%) -- multiple heat-seeking tendrils of white fire erupt from her back and slam into her opponents. Feels a level of exhaustion afterwards and needs to recharge.
Overheat (125%) -- Another Pokemon move; exactly what it says on the tin. Feels a level of exhaustion afterwards and needs time to recharge; more time than 100%. This move is the first to take a chunk of her health in order to cast it.
Overload (200%) -- a last resort attack. Stronger version of Overheat, but knocks Maria out in the process. Generally used as a sacrifice ploy if Maria wants to make sure others get out of a bad situation.

slimes
So- these are made for a lore thing that me and my friends work on and constantly add lore to.
I’m the one responsible for animals being made so- slimes, there’s like 20 different types but these are the ones drawn already with descriptions about them
Tumblr media
Common Slime
this slime is a common slime that roams around almost anyone, it has a diet of grass, herbs and other plants (which gives them their green colour). They’re peaceful creatures that will attack when attacked.
Tumblr media
Honey Slime
One of the most aggressive slimes, the honey slimes act similar to bees and ants, they work in groups or ‘hives’, building dens underground and leaving a sticky, honey-like, residue on the ground around it. This causes all sorts of creatures to be stuck in it, if a human child is stuck in it they will still see it as prey- and they will do what they do with all of their prey, take it into their den for it to never be seen again. Somewhat like blood bees or whatever they’re called- they eat living and dead things.
Tumblr media
Water Slimes
The water slime is the most bouncy slime, it lives by and in water and has a thin layer which can create a defensive fog-like mist that acts similarly to a squids ink. They feast on things that grow in the water or near the water- or small fish, if the protective layer is popped or punctured in any way then they will die pretty easily. They look angry but they’re very social and nice, unlike the honey slime.
Tumblr media
Magma Slimes
These are the only slimes to live in the hottest environment, they roll around and collect hot rocks of any kind to create protective coatings, along with that they often live in or near fire/lava which causes them to be really hot to the touch. They look aggressive but they’re mostly passive unless you are small than it (which is impossible for humans).

In the realm of commercial property ownership and management, safeguarding your investment and the lives within it is paramount. While fire suppression systems like sprinklers are crucial, fire-resistant coatings offer a vital layer of passive fire protection that can make an immense difference during an emergency. These specialized coatings aren't just an optional upgrade; they are an essential component in protecting your property and, critically, helping your commercial building meet strict code requirements.
Fires in commercial buildings can escalate rapidly, causing catastrophic damage and putting occupants at severe risk. Fire-resistant coatings work by delaying the spread of flames and reducing the rate at which heat penetrates structural elements. Many of these coatings, often referred to as intumescent paints, react to high temperatures by expanding into a thick, insulating char layer. This protective barrier keeps the underlying materials, such as steel beams and columns, from reaching critical temperatures that would compromise their structural integrity and lead to collapse. This extended time is invaluable, allowing occupants precious extra minutes for safe evacuation and giving firefighters more time to control the blaze.
Beyond saving lives and minimizing structural damage, the application of fire-resistant coatings is often a non-negotiable aspect of adhering to local and national building codes. Municipalities like Stillwater, OK, adopt specific editions of the International Fire Code (IFC) and International Building Code (IBC) which dictate stringent fire safety standards for commercial properties. The City of Stillwater, for instance, has adopted the 2018 International Fire Code. These codes mandate certain levels of fire resistance for various building components to ensure public safety. Failing to comply can result in hefty fines, legal liabilities, and even forced closure until deficiencies are addressed.
For any business owner or property manager in the area, partnering with a knowledgeable painting contractor Stillwater OK who specializes in fire-resistant coatings is a strategic decision. Such a contractor understands the technical specifications of these specialized paints, the proper application techniques for maximum effectiveness, and the specific code requirements for commercial buildings in Stillwater. They can assess your property, recommend the appropriate fire-resistant solutions for different surfaces (like structural steel, wood, or drywall), and ensure that the application is executed flawlessly, guaranteeing both enhanced safety and full regulatory compliance for your commercial investment. Protect your assets, ensure the safety of your occupants, and secure your peace of mind by investing in the proven protection of fire-resistant coatings.

Fire Barrier Installation London: Safeguarding Buildings with Smart Fire Separation
In a city as busy and densely populated as London, fire safety isn’t just a recommendation — it’s a requirement. With thousands of commercial, residential, and healthcare buildings packed into tight urban spaces, effective fire containment is essential. That’s where fire barrier installation in London comes into play.
Fire barriers are a fundamental part of passive fire protection. At Zyan Fire Protection, we specialise in designing and installing certified fire barrier systems to protect people, property, and businesses throughout the capital.
What Are Fire Barriers?
Tumblr media
Fire barriers are specially constructed systems made from fire-resistant materials such as mineral wool, intumescent coatings, or fire-rated boards. These barriers are designed to divide a building into fire-resistant compartments, containing flames and smoke during an incident.
Whether installed in walls, ceilings, or voids, fire barriers:
Limit the spread of fire and toxic smoke
Preserve escape routes for occupants
Protect high-risk areas like plant rooms or kitchens
Support fire service access and control
Ensure compliance with UK fire safety standards (e.g. BS 476, BS EN 1364)
