Aiguilles d'Entrèves.
The impressive mountain peak of Aiguilles d'Entrèves.
Aiguille d'Argentière is a peak in the Mont Blanc massif on the border of France in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Switzerland in the canton of Valais. The summit is 3,901 metres above sea level. The most notable feature is the north face of the summit, which has long sections with a slope of 55°–65° in the upper part. Back in the 1950s, the north face was covered by a massive, continuous sheet of ice. By the early 2000s, the sheet had already been partially destroyed and contained numerous seracs up to 60 metres high.
The first ascent of the Aiguille d'Argentiere was made by Edouard Whymper, Anthony-Adams Reilly, Michel Cros, Michel Payot and Henri Charlet on 15 July 1864. Their route was along the Chardonnet Glacier, with an exit to the northwest ridge and then a traverse to the north face at around 3,750 metres. On 15 July 2015, Vincent Fournier and Geoff Mercier made the first ascent of the Efareb route on the south face (grade 6b+). Their ascent took place exactly 151 years after the first ascent of the summit.

Piedra Parada, Argentina: Piedra Parada is a rural town in the Languiñeo Department of Chubut Province, Argentina. It is located on Provincial Highway 22. The name of the locality comes from a rock formation, Piedra Parada, 285 m high and 100 m wide, located in the valley of the Río Chubut, which since 2006 has been part of a protected natural area of the province of Chubut, with a protected area of 132 ha. The Piedra Parada was first climbed in 1993 by Argentinian mountaineers Damián Benegas and Pablo De La Fuente. Several climbs followed, until it became the site of the famous Petzl RockTrip in 2012. How did you study about military gear? I'm currently trying & searching sources and looking for some tips.
I really like your work btw. Keep going✨️
Hi! Thank you so much, I'm excited to share some knowledge with someone. <3 I tried summing up methods that have helped me the most: 1. lots of research (vids, blogs, magazines, loadout lists,...) 2. store/product photos 3. military photos (not airsoft!) 4. damtoy loadout showcase vids I first started off with doing extensive research on cod operators. Cosplay guides by shadeops21 (DeviantArt) are a huge help with the most accurate loadout lists.
Next step was looking up product photos & studying the functions, shapes, different angles. Store/product photos are my most used refs, they're in high resolution & you'll see every detail thanks to a well lit environment. I also collect military pics in one huge folder, not only for pose refs & inspo, but also as refs on how the gear is used. Product photos will lay flat, worn gear will always look different!
Make sure to learn how to differentiate airsoft from real military pics, airsofters (except for dedicated reenactors/milsimers) tend to have wacky tastes (ugly, black amazon gear and fake, glowing NVGs,...).
The gear of Damtoys is incredibly accurate & precise, watching videos of the dolls being dressed will also give you an idea on how accs (pouches, glow sticks, radio systems, ...) are attached to the equipment.
My strongest interests lay in SOF, so I'll also collect magazines with expert info, insights & loadout descriptions (K-ISOM (German) SPECIAL OPS (Polish)). To my advantage, I do have friends who are either huge military nerds or in active duty, I'll sometimes ask them questions and learn about the features and (dis)advantages of various pieces of gear. It's a life hack, but you'll achieve your goal either way if you're determined!
After you got a feel for the basics, you can start accommodating knowledge. Study drawing/recognizing the most used equipment first, western modern kits are very repetitive (as the products are so good, they don't need to be replaced). Headsets: 3M Peltor ComTac, Sordin, Ops-Core AMP Helmets: Ops-Core, Crye AirFrame, Team Wendy, MICH 2000 Plate carriers: Crye JPC, Crye AVS, First Spear, Lindnerhof, AGILITE, LBT Slick & 6094 Gloves: Oakleys, PIG FDT Alpha, Mechanix, Petzl, Nomex flight gloves, Outdoor Research Ironsight After that you can start looking up more niche or less iconic brands and gear, you'll be a nerd in no time. I hope this is helpful and I'm sorry for the late reply. If you ever need help or info on something, feel free to dm me on Twitter or Tumblr!

Hopping tips is not usually the easiest way to manage a route and utilize redirects when aiming for decent work positions as it positions the climber route sideways against the branch instead of parallel with it.
What are simple Redirects?
Redirects are utilized in tree work to offer a better rope angle to do limb walks or gain work position to make pruning cuts when doing tip reductions or traversing a sprawled canopy, 9/10 these are done utilizing SRS instead of MRS methods as MRS redirects often require hardware to remove continuous friction while still providing an additional anchor point through a sling carabiner dmm revolver system, petzl eject system, ring ring canbium saver system, pulley saver m rig system or O rig system. Very rarely is it an ART twin line or secret weapon hybrid system off of some flint lock knot block static line. Instead most climbers utilize SRS since a static system means friction is continuous through out without needing hardware and often natural crotch redirects are used to mitigate flat rope angles.
To plan a redirect they say look up above your next work station, do you see a branch above it, cool, take that redirect and it makes life easy. Hit the top first then work down. Hit the interior on the way up making a chuck hole, then work your way out in four quarters of the tree.
Redirects on SRS or, Static Rope Systems, allows rope compression to split loads over multiple anchor points, potential to make a climb safer by loading wood into compression, less rope stretch, and continuous friction, or prevention from falls and pendulum swings aka whips while minimizing gear.
In the case above, Casey was finishing up a lightening of heavy limbs work order and was climbing on a basal anchor system making it retrievable from the ground, Basal anchor systems must use beefy high crotches or 2 or more points to load under a v vector of compression since leverage weight is doubled over a single point in these setups unlike a canobase system, twin line hybrid, or a canopy synch system. Basal anchors are often set when isolation is hard, predirects are better for the route plan to a get a climber to tips faster, or someone wants to easily retrieve their rope from the ground while being somewhat rescue-able from the ground via alpine butterfly pickoff belay systems.
Casey's last two tip reductions were on over extended high limbs and there for to prevent an over exposed limb walk with flat rope angles he picked a limb that was adjacent to the three he needed to hit but still had large enough secondary scaffolds to set said redirects in as he hopped tips.
Again this was to prevent a major swing into the trunk.
Limbs were covered in ice which made normal climbing( panther like limb walks) difficult.
