so my grandma calls me a couple of days ago and is like 'i keep sending your mother skincare but it keeps getting returned so I'm giving up and sending it to you' and I'm like okay cool.

anyway parcel arrives today with skincare, yes, and some cute makeup, also great, and also...about 50 of my great grandmother's birthday and christmas cards from her family and friends from the 1910s and 20s and they are SO beautiful, not just because they're incredible and gorgeous and weird but also because they're between her and her family and have postmarks and stamps and she used to live SO close to where I used to live in York and where my brother STILL lives and I'm just like until this morning I didn't even know her name!!! and now I know her name and her address and her birthday and her sisters and brother and that she also liked black cats and called her parents mother and dad.

and also this one that she definitely nicked from her sister Dora:

and just SO many with silent film stars and cute everything and they're all incredible and I might have cried a whole bunch looking at them.

imagine if your Kpop photocards were alive. Like— really imagine. I think it would be really scary to see someone holding you, screeching and screaming then putting you inside some plastic cover only to then put you in another plastic cover to then shut you inside a binder, now in the dark, surrounded by other versions of yourself.
