International Podcast Day 2024!

As we celebrate International Podcast Day 2024, I thought I’d share some of the lessons I've learned since starting my own podcast, the Angry British Conservative. Podcasting is an ever-growing medium, and being part of it has been an adventure filled with learning, challenges, and growth.

One of the biggest takeaways from my experience is this:

 Consistency is key. Whether it's posting regularly or sticking to a specific format, being consistent helps build trust with your audience. It also develops your voice and improves your content over time. There will be days when your topic may feel dull or uninspired, but I've found that pushing through is what counts. If you keep showing up, your audience will too.

Another lesson is the importance of having thick skin. It's easy to get caught up in worrying about what people think. Some will love what you're doing; others, not so much. The trick is to move forward regardless of the feedback. Criticism or indifference shouldn’t stop you from creating. 

Strive forward no matter the outcome—you’ll be surprised at what consistency and perseverance can achieve.

Lastly, even if things seem slow or the results aren't what you expected, remember that success is often a long game. Keep on making stuff, no matter what. The journey of podcasting, like any other creative endeavor, is about showing up, learning, and improving bit by bit.

So here’s to all the podcasters out there—whether you're seasoned or just starting.
