How to clear Smarty cache in all versions of PrestaShop?
Smarty language is PrestaShop selection for its templating system. A large number of theme file contents are saved in Smarty cache folder. Sometimes, when you install a new template or enable/disable modules, your website content does not show the latest changes. This is because PrestaShop is still showing the old cached content and not the latest changes made by you.
In this case, the solution is to clear the cache of your PrestaShop store. Depending on the PrestaShop version you are using, the method to clear the cache varies.
For PrestaShop version 1.4.x.x
Manually
In PrestaShop 1.4, you can find cached data stored in these following folders of your PrestaShop’s installation main folder:
/tools/smarty/cache
/tools/smarty/compile
/tools/smarty_v2/cache
/tools/smarty_v2/compile
You should delete the content of these folders to clear Prestashop cached data. Reload your website in your web browser to take a look at the changes you have made.
Automatically
Login to the Administration panel
Select Preferences tab > Performance
Check to turn on the “Force compile” feature and disable cache.
For PrestaShop version 1.5.x.x
Clear cache in PrestaShop back office
Login to your PrestaShop store back office
Navigate to Advanced Parameters > Performance
Click on the “Clear Smarty cache & Autoload cache” button
Click “Save”
Clear cache manually
Access to your PrestaShop installation directory and delete the content of the following folders, except “index.php” file:
cache/smarty/compile
cache/smarty/cache
img/tmp
Reload your website in browser to apply the changes you have made.
For PrestaShop version 1.6.x.x
Clear Cache in Prestashop back office
Login to your PrestaShop store back office
Navigate to Advanced Parameters > Performance
Select “Force compilation” and disable cache option
Click “Save”
Refresh your store page.
Clear cache manually
Access to your PrestaShop installation directory and delete the content of the following folders except “index.php” file:
cache/smarty/compile
cache/smarty/cache
img/tmp;
Refresh your website to apply the changes you have made.
Disable CCC for CSS files
Login to your PrestaShop admin panel
Navigate to Advanced Parameters > Performance;
Locate CCC (Combine, Compress, and Cache) section;
Disable Smart cache for CSS and other CCC options.
Click “Save”
Access to “themes/themeXXX/cache” folder (xxx is the theme number) of your PrestaShop installation directory and delete all content except “index.php” file.
Refresh your store page.
For PrestaShop 1.7.x.x
Login to your PrestaShop admin panel
Navigate to Advanced Parameters > Performance;
Click on “Clear cache” button
Each time a visitor revisit your store, PrestaShop cache is checked to see if it has changed so that web browser can serve your customers the most up-to-date pages. However, this doesn’t always work. Sometimes, the cache will load its older stored page instead, and you may not always get the newest version. Clearing PrestaShop cache will force your browser to start over, ensuring that your customers are viewing updated pages and information.

Un bon site vitrine, c’est quoi ?
“Site vitrine”, mettez cette désignation à la poubelle ou soyez conscient qu’un site vitrine utile et efficace en 2017 n’est plus ce qu’il était dans les années passées.

Il fût un temps ou était largement répandu de faire quelques pages, de faire manger qq infos au pleutres internautes en espérant que le texte ai été assez persuasif pour qu’il daigne décrocher son téléphone.
Alors oui, il n’y avait pas les possibilités techniques aujourd’hui et ça serait stérile de cracher sur une 2CV en lui reprochant de ne pas avoir d’ABS ou d’ESP ou le screen mirroring compatible avec l’iphone 12 mais…
Et maintenant ? les sites vitrines c’est mort ?
Non ! La majorité des business auront toujours besoin d’avoir une présence en ligne sans devenir un site e-commerce ou se transformer en réseau social x CRM x machine à café.
La création de site vitrine doit être un relai d’infos utiles pour le visiteur et par infos utiles j’entend ici bien-sur que l’internaute doit y trouver des choses qui répondent à ses problématiques. Donc pour revenir au sujet : Ne pas faire les mises à jour c’est comme laisser du métal non traité à la rouille dehors.
Ne pas faire les mises à jour s’est s’exposer à des failles de sécurité et donc augmenter la possibilité de se faire déglinguer par des hackers ou des concurrents mal intentionnés.
Apporter du crédit à la sécurité de votre site web.
Faire les mises à jour de vos modules et de vos thèmes peut suffire mais “peut” uniquement. Il vaut mieux se prémunir contre beaucoup d’autres attaques. Pour ce faire vous n’aurez qu’a chercher : sécurité “nom de votre cms” sur google et vous trouverez surement des modules gratuits.
Les possibilités d’interactions, un must have pour la face numérique de votre business.
Un bon site vitrine doit aussi être interactif, il y a pléthores de modules de chats gratuits pour une utilisation basique qui suffiront amplement à moultes PME. Il suffit de brancher la reception du chat sur le desktop d’un gus de la boite et basta.

Alors là, on entre dans le gros du gros. Quand on se rend compte qu’on aurait pas du acheter ce laptop acer pourri à 200€ qui fait de l’asthme en allant sur facebook. C’est comme quand tu te rends compte que les 50€/mois que tu fous dans wix te servent à rien.
Alors Wordpress, Joomla, SPIP etc. à votre convenance mais sachez que wordpress possède la plus grosse communauté et donc potentiellement le plus grands nombres de possibilités pour pas cher.
Faire esthétique
Les couleurs du site reprennent les couleurs de la charte graphique, les visuels sont dans la même veine, l’univers des couleurs est cohérent et doser son bon gout.
Faire rapide
L’idée ici n’est pas de vous inciter à bacler la création d’un site internet mais bien de faire en sorte qu’il charge rapidement. Je vous donne des trucs à chercher sur le web à assortir avec le nom de votre cms (prestashop, joomla, drupal etc.)

How to manage PrestaShop faceted search module on PrestaShop 1.7
If you’ve got a PrestaShop online store with a large product catalog, you already realize you need to make sure your customers can find what they want without too much guess-work. Your most prospective customers are the ones who use the search function on your site.
Only 40% of online stores offer faceted search, so adding it to your PrestaShop store can boost your conversion rates and make you much more familiar with online customers.
Within this article, I will introduce to you a short and simple tutorial about PrestaShop faceted search module on PrestaShop version 1.7. For PrestaShop older versions (1.4, 1.5 and 1.6) the module is named “Layered navigation block”. Its configuration page is similar with faceted search module, so if you’re using these older versions, this tutorial is still helpful.
What is PrestaShop faceted search?
Faceted search module is a default PrestaShop module that displays a block with the layered navigation filters. It allows the customers to define combined criteria to filter category products, giving more details in order to decrease the number of displayed products. This is a great tool for customers who know the details of what they want (color, condition and price range) but are unsure how to find it.
How to configure PrestaShop faceted search module?
In your PrestaShop back office go to Modules -> Modules and Services section
Choose Installed modules tab and type in the search field “Faceted Search” to find the module.
If the module is not installed, click the Install button. After installing the module, click “Configure” button.
Indexes and caches
To work appropriately, Faceted Search must stay up-to-date with your latest products, product attributes, and all product prices. That’s why it is required to re-index the data.
Index all missing prices: only add to the index the prices that were not indexed before.
Rebuild entire price index: add to the index all the prices, whether they were already indexed before or not.
Build attribute index: add to the index all the product attributes.
Let’s take a big note here:
You have to update your indexes every time your products’ data changes.
Filter templates
You can use the existing Filter template or add a new one. To create a new filter template, click Add new template button.
Set the new filter title into the Template name field
Choose the categories for which the filter will appear in the Categories used for this template.
You may enable/disable the suitable filters in the Filters section. Faceted search menu will add them to your filter template.
Each filter has respective options. You can select the appropriate style for each filter (Checkbox, Radio button or Drop-down list). You can also set the limit value of items.
When you’re ready, click the Save button.
Configuration
You can set the additional module settings in the Configuration section.
Show the number of matching products: hide filter values when no product is matching or show their number.
Show products from subcategories: show/hide the products from subcategories.
Category filter depth (0 for no limits, 1 by default): define the category filter depth.
Use tax to filter price: enable/disable the tax to the filter price.
Use rounding to filter price: enable/disable rounding to filter price option.
Finally, click the Save button to save the changes.
And we’ve finished! Now you can navigate to your front office and check how the navigation filters look.
