What the fuck are the rocks at Isu sites?
you can especially see it in the top left corner. these stones seem to form into cube-like crystals, naturally. They have a smooth surface, and maybe I just don’t know how rocks work but they seem to hold up pretty well, for being tens of thousands of years old
However, they do seem to naturally decay. The Temple is in shambles. it couldn’t be erosion because it’s been sealed for millennia. maybe it was shaken when the first great catastrophe happened, but that might negate the structural integrity displayed. Even that thin-ass bridge can take the weight of two people.
It also seems to come in two variants, the smooth, matte gray surfaces, and the less regular, shiny black stones. Maybe the gray ones are machined, but that wouldn’t explain why there are parts cropping out, not would it explain the random black parts.
Here, we see the outside of the Observatory. the cuby parts seem so random. There was pretty clearly no purpose in their placement, which supports the idea that they grew naturally.
here’s the entrance to the observation room, and we can clearly see, on either side of the entranceway, the black stone i was mentioning. Here, it has formed or been formed into regular shapes, in stark contrast with the first picture’s stones.
so what the fuck? it kind of looks like black tourmaline, but idk. someone who knows geology, and has time on their hands, please help me out with this thx
