Sugarcane, Feedstock for GFII's bioethanol plant!

ECOFUEL Land Development, Inc. is a Philippines-based development company that has a contract with Green Future Innovations Inc. (GFII) to develop an 11,000 hectare (27,000 acre) sugarcane plantation in the Philippine province Isabela. The sugarcane will be used as a feedstock for GFII's bioethanol plant, located in San Mariano municipality, Isabela province. Company officials have said that the plant will not be viable unless ECOFUEL succeeds in developing at least 8000 hectares (20,000 acres) of sugarcane within 40 km of the plant. The project is strongly opposed by residents of San Mariano and the surrounding areas

Tobacco Production In Isabela City! Worldwide Quality Tobaccos!

The fertile soil of the Cagayan Valley,especially Isabela City, nourished by the mighty Cagayan River, and coupled with the humid weather condition resulted in the production of quality burley tobacco that is now sought after by cigarette manufacturers worldwide.According to the multinational leaf supplier Universal Leaf Philippines Inc. (ULPI), the leaf, which is globally known as Isabela burley, is now considered to be one of the best types of tobacco that is used to manufacture cigarettes.

Banana Production in Isabela City!

The Cagayan Valley region, especially Isabela City, aims to export 3,500 boxes per week of organic bananas to Japan starting 2014 to revive its export commitment to that country.

“Bongolan” is a special banana variety that has affinity to export variety Cavendish known for its moderate sweetness. It has been specified for exports to Japan. For the Japanese, Bongolan is more delicious than Cavendish"

Hybrid Rice Champion! 2nd highest rice-growing province nationwide! That's Isabela City! 

                Isabela produces 15% of the aggregate national rice production on an annual basis. Being a surplus producer of the Filipinos’ staple crop, the province’s rice sufficiency rate is at 224%, which means that Isabeliños produce more than they consume and are in fact responsible for supplying the rice requirements of Metro Manila and many other provinces. The unprecedented increase in palay production of Isabela made the province the "Hybrid Rice Champion" of the Philippines.
