"How did you reach this conclusion? This perplexes me. There have been documented sightings of Lugia traveling together in large groups, pods. This was a result of Kanto large propaganda to hunt down any Lugia threading through the region's waters since the mystery incident. The media falsely blamed it on the local Lugia pod in the area."
Their tone became angered. "This will be the only instance of me supporting Stormbringer's actions but they were the only ones who seemed to recognize the dangers in this and dealt out their justice in doing so."
They laced their hands together, leaned forward into the webcam. "Kanto finally learned their lesson when Stormbringer threatened the lives traveling upon S.S Anne not once but twice."
Then they leaned back in their chair. "Since then, the reports of solitary Lugia have been quite rare. They learned traveling in numbers meant safety. If a Lugia was traveling alone, it was likely due to being pregnant or the sorts. Often they seek solitude away from the pod on an island. Why not in the safety of the pod? Unknown."

Iāll be your quiet afternoon crush

i FINALLY finished chapter 2 and itās ready to read here!
Hereās a little excerpt from chapter 2 :)
āPlease donāt throw yourself into the fire,ā Yoko murmurs into her ear, āitād really put a downer on this whole thing.ā
āMy crispy suicide couldnāt make this much worse I think,ā Yoko snorts loudly next to her, a surprisingly welcome distraction to the campās rowdy rendition ofĀ Old MacDonald, except itsĀ Old EchidnaĀ and they list all of her monster children. āEspecially since the sound of you trying to suck Divinaās face off is making the rest of us nauseous.ā
Divina blushes and Yoko wraps an arm around her shoulder, pressing a loud kiss to her forehead and then turning back to glare at Wednesday. āHey at least Iām getting some, your girlfriend is too busy tearing it up on the harmonica.ā
Itās near impossible to make the harmonica sound worse than it already does. Enter Enid however-

So to your knowledge, do Lugia take mates? What do you know of this?
The scientist waved their hand. "Yes, yes. We have seen this behavior display in the Alola pod with the Matriarch. She is very bold with showing their relationship, it is astounding. Though others within are also permitted to have mates as well. It is not an exclusive event for the leader alone. But conception is rare. Perhaps even less than 1% would a pair lay an egg. Child rearing isn't the only reason for this. Like us humans, they too want companionship.

"It is this thought as why I believe they do so in the first place. This is why I have witnessed many interspecies pairing amongst them. Though" -they frowned- "I have seen pairings with Ho-oh as well. It is unusual but they seem to share very similar attributes. A chemistry..."
They shrugged. "It is still a mystery."

What's being hidden behind this "Harmonica Divina" name for this project? A lot of secret projects don't live up to the elegant name in front of them, rather a distraction as to what goes on in the background.
"Another skeptic." They folded their arms. "The Aether Foundation and Plasma has done nothing but ruin the masses with fake promises and idealism." They inclined their head. "I will give both their credit, both were built on truth seen throughout the Pokemon world yet they were corrupt nonetheless. I suppose it doesn't help the name is close to N," they snorted, "I should have scraped the name and changed it to something different. No matter."
You begin to notice their eyes were never truly facing the screen. They always seemed to be looking for a way out. But it is difficult to surmise if they are telling the truth, their features and actions portraying one who is annoyed and not one nervous of the circumstances they found themselves in now as they was before.
They're used to this game, they have played this before.
"The intention behind the name was based on the usage of a Lugia's unique sound signature. Each has a unique sound. All of which has been described as a siren lulling one to sweet dreams. Sailors have often said the song was sublime, even divined. I merely took the information that was told me and put a twist on it."
They boldly faced the screen, voice firm. "There is no vicious, hidden motive behind this."

The scientist cocked their head at this one before their lips thinned. "If you're trying to discover the exact climate of these creatures, it would be a fool's errand. Data has shown they have been-

They made a sound, pinching the bridge of their nose. "Suffice to say, you have answered your own question. Lugias are quite adaptable. They wouldn't survive in an arid climate such as the desert however. The oil they naturally beneath the feathers would dry out before long. A constant water source would be necessary for their survival and such environments do not have one."
They paused. "They are capable of bending nature rules... I doubt however Rayquaza would be too receptive of the idea."

"Not true when it comes to the Alola pod," they say dryly. "They are an exception, an abnormality but they make it work amongst themselves. It is an unique study to keep track of. No inner fighting, rearing a youngling who appears close to adulthood."

"Like the polycule of Alola, they would be mated for life until the tragic passing of their pair. More often than not, they would wither away with the passing of their mate after some years. Unless an unique circumstance happened to their mate that I am not aware of. How the state of the polycule would fair when one dies, I shudder at the idea. Maybe that is what they seek to avoid by forming it. I am unsure."

By Stormbringer, you mean Susano, right? What are your thoughts on them?
The scientist became rigged. That name came up in multiple texts but... It was foolhardy to believe a Lugia could live for so long.
Their arms fell to the side, their voice was tentative. "What I believe is, Susano had a justified reason for doing what they did. If Stormbringer is the same as the Susano of Legends, then it would make perfect sense their last warning would be towards the S.S Anne."
'Do you justify killing the hunters then?'
"I do not. Killing anyone is never justified," they said vehemently. "But Susano is a vengeful beast, we're speaking on. I have seen first hand accounts of the damage done by the hunts. The tapes speak for themselves."
"If they are the same... Susano may be dying."
'Good riddance.'

Another pop up on the screen.

They scowled. Were they sending inquiries as they conversed? How rude. Their eyes narrowed at the conclusion of the inquiry.
"I see you are still scouring through my research. The method of Lugia reproduction still remains obscured. I have only narrowed it down they often mate during what would be the rainy season for a region at best. Their biology is quite fascinating to say the least. They have no indicator for what sex they are yet they are still capable of producing children no matter the circumstances.
"Perhaps it's something that occurs during the mating process itself but no one has been able to record such data. The footage would be damaged beyond repair and what would be horror stories of near too close encounters. How they survived is beyond my knowledge. They are quite merciful from what I have garnered however."

What is the ultimate intent of Harmonica Divina?
They tapped their fingers impatiently on their arms. For a brief moment, there was a pause. But it was gone in an instant as their gaze refocused on the screen. "Lugia migrational patterns have been unorthodox as of late. It has grown very unpredictable for starters. If I had a map, I would be able to chart well but you seem intent on keeping me in place for time being," they sneered.
While their voice had been even throughout the questioning, it had wavered slightly. It was hard to tell where exactly. The quality of the microphone they spoke with crackled every now and then, disturbing the flow of the conversation.
"The Project is to satiate my curiosity. There are texts documented that the sound is often the gateway to one's heart and soul." They inclined. "Like music. When you hear a beat that soothes the mind and body. Who would know it better than the Lugia describe in ancient text to soothe raging souls of creatures gone mad?"

What is this āProjectā you are so concerned with keeping hidden from us? Why must you keep it concealed from the world? Is this a conservation effort or merely a thinly veiled exploitation of the species?
They lifted a hand in the air offhandedly, "You all dig into my database on the assumption we will take advantage of Lugias?" They rolled their eyes, even scoffed, "The species are much more intelligent than anyone would have believed. There has been no method of piercing through their strong mental barrier to so much as manipulate them. Anyone who would even try it would find themselves with a scrambled mind in retaliation."
Then they shrugged. "They are too many dangers involved. But keeping critical data on the important head figures of species is vital. Such as Stormbringer. That one is a threat to the world itself but no one has anything concrete on it. Only rumors and whispers. Yet I managed to discover something those idiots haven't. A constant variable- an unusual sound signature within the ocean that is steadily getting weaker and weaker."

They murmured under their breath as they inspected each and every file. Nothing was missing. Puzzled, they rested their chin against their palm as the screens changed from folder to folder.
A few were recently open.
Breeding habits? Locations? Their brows furrowed.
"Were they looking into the Alola pod..." They bit down on their lower lip, checking deeper.
A new pop up appeared on their screen. Startled, they jumped. They hissed. "I knew they left something."
They shifted the mouse to close it only... for it to not work.
Swearing under their breath, they shifted to erase it.
'Don't try it.' The words appeared in the pop up.
They scowled. "Do you truly think you have one up on me?"
'Do you really want us to post this information everywhere for the world to see? Don't try to unplug the microphone either. It won't work.'
They froze in place. The entire room was bugged?
'I see we have your attention now. Everything will be fine. We were only curious about the project. But I see you are nervous. Just what is exactly on this computer?'
"What do you want?" They blurted out.
'Answer our questions and you'll find out.'
[ From this time span, you are able to ask this individual anything you wish to know. The project. The Lugia questions from before. Anything you think you can get away with. ]
#Project: Harmonica Divina#???#Lugia Ecology#*#Its a simple ask game though if I get nothing I'll just proceed with answering stuff later today

Project: Harmonica Divina
Someone had been tampering with the computer.Ā
A disgruntled breath, the sounds of keys being angrily pressed upon the keyboard. Someone wanted inside their project. An arrogant smirk as the letters on the screen shifted. āLike hell I would let you inside of here. It'll cost me too much money to lose this precious data.āĀ
They grinned as they pressed a final key. āNow stay out.ā After rechecking theĀ parameters and ensuring no pesky bugs remained after the intrusions, they laid back against his chair with a sigh.
