Suraj Estate Shares Surge 4% Following Land Acquisition in Mumbai
Shares of Suraj Estate Developers Ltd. saw a notable increase of more than 4% on Thursday, 5 December, after the company’s subsidiary Iconic Property Developers announced the acquisition of a prime land parcel in Mahim, Mumbai.
The company paid ₹101 crore for a 1,464-square-meter (approximately 15,758 square feet) plot located at Senapati Bapat Marg, Mahim (W). This new land parcel is adjacent to another piece of land previously acquired by the company, which is intended for the development of a commercial building. The merger of these two properties will enable Suraj Estate to build a larger commercial structure with bigger floor plates.
The planned commercial building will feature an estimated 1.03 lakh square feet of carpet area and a projected gross development value (GDV) of ₹525 crore. The company’s Q2FY25 net profit rose by 88% year-on-year, reaching ₹31.83 crore, further fueling optimism among investors about the company's growth prospects.
As of the latest trading session, Suraj Estate’s stock was trading at ₹684.50 on the NSE, reflecting a 1.03% increase. The stock has gained 163.01% from its 52-week low of ₹256 reached on 27 March 2024, although it is still 20.04% below its 52-week high of ₹842 achieved on 20 August 2024.
