*IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE*
The Alumni of the University of Jos, Nigeria, drew tears from the eyes of many in Bakana, Rivers State as they left the comfort of their homes in Abuja to come to celebrate Valentine with their former classmate, Mr Minabelem Hilary, who became mentally unstable on the eve of his Master's degree defence.
The Alumni traced him across the river to Bakana and after spending time with him, took him to the Psychiatric Hospital in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt, and paid for his treatment and admission to a private ward with the sum of N320, 000 (three hundred and twenty thousand nairas).
The golden-hearted former classmates hugged him, bought him new clothes and laughed with him as they exchanged some old school jokes.
Reacting to the kind gesture, a doctor at the facility said Mr Hillary had a good chance of complete recovery, especially if he took his drugs faithfully...
*WHAT MANNER OF LOVE...*

BREAKING:All the Land in Nigeria belong to Fulani - Miyetti Allah Leader
New Post has been published on https://thebiafrastar.com/breakingall-the-land-in-nigeria-belong-to-fulani-miyetti-allah-leader/
BREAKING:All the Land in Nigeria belong to Fulani - Miyetti Allah Leader
Tumblr media
•Fulani own all the lands in Nigeria
As the seven-day ultimatum Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, issued herdsmen occupying Ondo state forests expires tomorrow, the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo has declared that no power remove Fulani herdsmen from the state’s forests.
In an interview with VINCENT KALU, the Miyetti Allah leader stressed that their people have settled there for over 250 years and so they are not going to obey anybody to leave the place.
He claims the Fulani ethnic group owns all the land in Nigeria. “All the lands in this country belong to the Fulani, but we don’t have any business to do with land if it doesn’t have areas for grazing; if the land doesn’t have cow food, we won’t have any business with it. We don’t sell land, we don’t farm. What we consider is the areas that have cow food. If the place is good for grazing, we don’t need anybody’s permission to go there”, he stated.
Following allegations of kidnapping and robbery carried out by Fulani herdsmen, Ondo State government has given them seven-day ultimatum to leave the forests in the state, what is your reaction?
The Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu doesn’t have any right to give such ultimatum to our people. People, including Fulani voted for him to be the governor; so he should be the governor of everybody in the state.
Fulani have been in the forests he is talking about even before he was born; they have been there for over 250 years. No matter how dangerous a forest may be, Fulani would go and settle there. After staying there for a long time and their cow dung turns the place fertile, people would begin to come there to farm and to settle and from then, they begin to make claims that our cattle were destroying their farms.
We are suing the governor and seeking injunction restraining him and others from carrying out his threat. But even at that, nobody, no power can send the herdsmen out of Ondo State.
When are you going to court as the ultimatum will soon expire?
We are making consultations with our legal team. But before then, the governor and his people should stop embarrassing our people in the forests and all their businesses.
No any herdsman will obey the governor; the herdsmen will not step an inch out of Ondo forests; they are going nowhere. We won’t obey the governor; it is only the constitution of Nigeria that we obey. We have been in that area before he was born, how can he just grow up and ask us to leave; no Fulani will leave that place.
What are his reasons for the quit notice?
He alleged that it is the herdsmen that are kidnapping and robbing people and they operate from the forests. We are not in support of any form of criminality- armed robbery, kidnapping, gun running etc. These crimes are the reasons we have the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, DSS, even Civil Defence to nab perpetrators and there are courts everywhere to try them and if found guilty, appropriate punishment meted out to them. The governor is the chief security officer of the state, there is no reason he should single out one ethnic group for the crimes committed in the state. He is supposed to accommodate more Fulani in the state and not to drive them out. Driving them out is not the solution.
I have just concluded a meeting with my fellow Fulani and we have found out that some people will adorn Fulani attire to carry out various crimes. How can Fulani man living in the forest kidnap and ask people to pay ransom ranging from N5 million to N10 million. What would he be doing with that kind of money inside forest; if you pay herdsmen N20 million, N10 million, N5 million in the forest, where would he carry the money to and what will he be doing with such money? Check the leaders of those criminals; let the governors identify who the criminals are. They are not Fulani. He just wants to use that as an excuse to drive our people away from his state. It is just giving a dog a bad name to hang it; the herdsmen are not the kidnappers, let him carry out proper investigations. Let him know this, no any person in this country can push us out of the forests. If it becomes so hot and your people decide to go, where would you be headed?
The first thing is that nothing will make us take such decision. If you apply force and out of hundred Fulani, you kill 95 of them, the remaining five will go back there and continue with their grazing. They have been there for up to 250 years. They have been there before the state was even created.
All the lands in this country belong to the Fulani, but we don’t have any business to do with land if it doesn’t have areas for grazing; if the land doesn’t have cow food, we won’t have any business with it. We don’t sell land, we don’t farm. What we consider is the areas that have cow food. If the place is good for grazing, we don’t need anybody’s permission to go there.
Nigerians should know that our association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore is not backing anybody who is a kidnapper, armed robber, and we are calling for law enforcement agents to go after all these criminals and deal decisively with them. The criminality all over the country is the more reason we want to fully implement our vigilante system; we want to enter all the forests in this country to check these bandits in the forests that are causing these problems and denting the good image of Fulani ethnic group. We can’t wait any longer; we are sending our vigilantes into the forests to fish out these criminals – those intimidating the herdsmen and stealing their cows and secondly, these bandits causing problems in this country. It is only the Fulani that can enter any forest and chase out these bandits.
Why can’t your people live with the people in the community instead going to live inside forests?
We don’t need cities or towns. If you dash us FCT Abuja or the city of Lagos, we won’t have anything to do with it. We want a place where we continue to practice our age long culture of cattle rearing. We inherited it from our forefathers and it will continue till the end of the world. People are using propaganda to spoil Fulani name, and desperate politicians are in the forefront. Any governor that is drumming up on the Fulani herdsmen issue, watch well, he has issue or problem whether political or otherwise in his state. It is possible that Akeredolu is fighting a political battle, it may be 2023 election and that is why he is playing up this Fulani herdsmen issue. It is the same with Benue State governor, Ortom, when he was not performing; he started to play up Fulani herdsmen and farmers issue to draw support from his people. For almost six years, he hasn’t done any work in his state; he is talking about herdsmen and his people.
Fulani can settle in any bush or forest they want the moment they have cows. We agreed that our children will pursue education and other activities other people are doing in town, but even me, I’m not comfortable staying in the city, up till now my house is inside village.
Why is it that you would not take permission from the owners of the forests before you settle there?
Which forest, who has the forest? Any person who thinks he owns any forest should be taken to psychiatric hospital. Nobody owns any forest; forests are for Nigerians. Fulani herdsmen have the right to move into any forest and settle there for their business. Why do farmers go and cultivate thousands of hectare of land and fence it, who gave them that land? Nobody is born with a land in this country; people were just moving from one place to another for settlement. Fulani are settling in every community, but we are not claiming land, we are only interested on how our cows will have food to eat.
Fulani can’t value 100 people’s lives like he can value his one cow because since he was born, he doesn’t have any business except that cow. The cow is like his own brothers and sisters. If anything happens to his cow, do you think he can leave you? You have two or three storey buildings and you park your cars , do you fold your hands and watch somebody come to that house carry your cars, your clothes, your wife, destroy the buildings? You must fight. The Fulani man values his cow just as you value your brother and sister and you go all out to protect them. They love their cows beyond description, you can’t separate them from their cows to go and stay inside town or city. The cows have names. The way you give your children names when they were born is the same way they name their cows. Even a person who has one thousand cows, those cows have individual names and he knows them by name; the cows have fathers, grandfathers and grandchildren. What you have in human beings – the ways names are given to people, the same way Fulani give names to their cows. We are cow lovers , that is why sometimes if you kill their cows somewhere they go there to look for justice, because they see like somebody has killed their brothers; they must go to see who did that and they won’t leave that person.
You said that only the Fulani will drive out the bandits in the forests, why is it that they have not done so in the forests of Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto and Niger?
Those bandits are not Fulani, but they are damaging the name of Fulani and that is why this our vigilantes will go into all the forests in this country to chase out all the bandits. Whatever atrocity that the bandits commit is hanged on Fulani neck. These bandits are equally killing herdsmen in their numbers in various forests, but many people don’t understand this, and the moment they see herdsmen in the bush, they will tag them bandits or see them as kidnappers. This is disturbing us as it is eroding on our credibility; more so, useless people, desperate politicians and social media warriors have latched on this to poison everybody’s mind against Fulani ethnic group.
Why not your vigilante clear Sambisa Forest, which is so vast so that your people will settle and halt these conflicts in many states?
Borno State governor Zulum said he will give Fulani people Sambisa forest, we are waiting for him and when the approval is given I will be the first person to go and live there. We are also waiting for the federal government to put infrastructures there, and then we move in. Herdsmen in this country are suffering too much; as they move their cattle from one place to the other, some people who want to steal their cows will organise and even kill them, especially these people they are giving uniform in the name of vigilantes.
These people are causing confusion, you just pack some people, give them uniforms to go and drive out Fulani people in the forests. Yes, the Amotekun; I’m calling on the federal government to ban it. Since the federal government has left Amotekun, that is the reason we want to implement our own vigilante, whose operation will be all over the country, not only one state; we will operate everywhere you find Fulani people in this country, we can go there, enter the forests and chase the bandits away. We can help the Nigeria Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the federal government and relevant security agencies to end this banditry in the country. The Ondo State governor has a secret agenda for asking our people to leave his state, not the reasons he stated.

Court strikes out ex-Boko Haram’s spokesperson’s N500m damages suit
Tumblr media
An FCT High Court, Maitama, on Thursday struck out a N500 million aggravated suit filed by a former spokesperson of Boko Haram, Ali Konduga. Samira Bature, the judge, struck out the suit following an application for discontinuance filed by Mr Konduga’s counsel, Mohammed Tola, dated October 7 and filed on October 8. Justice Bature noted that the respondents had earlier pointed out that the court had no jurisdiction to handle the matter and with the motion for discontinuance by the applicant, the suit was struck out. Mr Konduga dragged the Director-General, State Security Services (SSS) and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, over alleged breach of his fundamental rights. On October 3, Emmanuel Edu, holding the brief of Mr Tola, told the court that their client intended to discontinue the suit. Clementine Nebo, counsel for the Attorney General of the Federation, did not object to the notice of withdrawal but said a proper motion should be presented to the court. In view of this, Mr Konduga‘s counsel then prayed for a short adjournment to enable them file motion for withdrawal. Mr Konduga, through his counsel, Mr Tola, filed a suit, alleging that he was kept in detention for an extra three years after serving his three-year jail term before he was released in 2016. Mr Konduga was convicted by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Abuja and sentenced to three years imprisonment for criminal intimidation in 2011. ‘Breach of fundamental rights. In his suit, Mr Konduga claimed that he was kept in the custody of the SSS instead of the conventional prison to serve his term because the government wanted him to serve as a key witness to prove a terrorism charge against a senator in a Federal High Court in Abuja. He further stated as of the time of his release, he was never called to testify in the matter or any other matter. Mr Konduga said he was taken to the SSS’s office in Maiduguri on September 8, 2016, and was released on September 9, 2016, to his parents. He alleged that the SSS offered his family N700,000 when he was released, and informed his family that the money was meant for his medical treatment. The gesture, Mr Konduga said, showed that the SSS knew he was entitled to compensation for his illegal and unlawful detention, adding that the Service refused to pay him any other compensation except the N700,000. He further stated that some individuals attacked him after he was released in 2016 and he sustained head injury from the attack. He added that as a result of the injury he sustained, the police from GRA Police Station, Maiduguri, Borno, took him into protective custody and later referred him to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in Maiduguri. He, therefore, demanded an unreserved public apology in three national newspapers. Mr Konduga also prayed for an order of the court, directing the respondents to jointly and severally pay him N500 million as aggravated damages and compensation for the illegal, unconstitutional, and unlawful detention. Potiskum/Nangere Fed. Const. Yobe Tribunal Fixes June 23 For Final Written Addresses
Tumblr media
The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal for Yobe sitting in Abuja has fixed June 23 for adoption of final written addresses in a suit filed by the PDP challenging the victory of APC in the Potiskum/Nangere Federal Constituency.     Alhaji Garba Sabo of the PDP is challenging the return of Ibrahim-Umar Potiskum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the Feb. 23 election. Justice Susan Oji, the Chairman of the three-man panel, fixed the date on Saturday.     The tribunal relocated from Damaturu to Abuja due to insecurity in the state.   Joined in the petition is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).     The petitioner and his party are praying the tribunal to disqualify Potiskum, on grounds that he was convicted for a criminal offence by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Damaturu in case No. YBS/CMC1/DT/105C/2016. Sabo in his petition alleged that Potiskum was arraigned in the court in 2016 for assaulting three men.     The petitioner alleged that Potiskum pleaded insanity based on the medical report tendered in the court and was discharged and acquitted in the case.     According to the petitioner, upon the crime and the plea, Potiskum is not qualified to lead the constituency in the House of Representatives and prayed the tribunal to declare him as the person who scored the highest number of lawful votes.     The petitioner also alleged that, Potiskum was also convicted on March 3, 1986 by an Upper Area Court 1, Potiskum, for the offence of Adultery and prayed the tribunal to declare him unfit to be elected.     Sabo alleged that Potiskum has history of insanity and has been declared as a person of unsound mind, having being a patient at the Borno State Psychiatric Hospital with patient No. 0268/05.     The petitioner is, therefore, praying the tribunal to set aside the certificate of return issued to Potiskum and declare him as the person who scored the highest number of lawful votes cast during the election.     According to the petitioner, it has been determined that the first and second respondents were not duly elected and did not score the lawful votes cast at the Feb.23 House of Representatives election into Potiskum/Nangere Federal Constituency.     The tribunal equally adjourned until Monday, for hearing in a motion filed for additional witnesses in the petition filed by Mr Mohammed Hassan of the PDP.     Hassan is challenging the election of Ibrahim Bomoi of the APC for Yobe South Senatorial Constituency and had filed a motion for additional witnesses to prove his case.     It was gathered that the motion for additional witnesses was based on inspection carried out at INEC. Nigerian atheist faces death threats for blasphemy against Islam

Nigerian atheist faces death threats for blasphemy against Islam
Mubarak Bala is accused of ‘provocative’ Facebook posts against Muslims
Mubarak Bala's public Facebook profile.
Mubarak Bala, a self-identified atheist, was arrested in Kaduna, northwest Nigeria, on March 29, 2020, for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammed, reports the Punch, a Nigerian daily.  Bala was arrested following a petition to the police commissioner of Kano, northwest Nigeria, on April 27, by a group of lawyers who accused him of “provocative and annoying” Facebook posts against Muslims, according to Zikoko online portal in reports here, here and here. They said Bala was:
…calling the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), [Praise Be Upon Him] all sorts of denigrating names like pedophile, terrorist among other statement that will definitely incite Muslims to take laws into their hands, which will ultimately result in public disturbance and breach of the peace.
Bala is expected to be prosecuted for blasphemy under the Penal Code of Kano State. If convicted, he is liable to a two-year imprisonment with fine or both.

Bala — not new to controversy
Bala, 35, chemical engineer and leader of the Nigerian Humanist Association, is not new to controversy.  In June 2014, Bala’s family forcefully confined him to a psychiatric hospital in Kano for renouncing Islam, according to reports by the BBC. He was released 18 days later from the Kano Psychiatric Hospital.  Recounting his ordeal in the hospital to Humanist Voices in 2018, Bala said that he was “drugged by force” with medicines meant for “psychotic and schizophrenic patients.” The drugs “induced a lot of weird feelings that almost drove me crazy,” he said.
Screenshot of Mubarak Bala's Facebook post
Therefore, his recent Facebook comments are not surprising, based on his past. On April 26, Bala shared this on his Facebook wall in the Hausa language, which translates: “There is no difference between the Prophet TB Joshua (S.A.W.) of Lagos and Muhammadu (A.S.) of Saudi Arabia, it is better for our Nigeria to be terrorism.”  TB Joshua refers to an evangelical pastor of The Synagogue Church of all Nations, Lagos.  Apparently as a result of the backlash his post generated, Bala shared another Facebook post stating: “if you cant take blasphemy against Islam, criticism of its doctrines, this page is not for you…”  Sahara Reporters, an online newspaper, reported that Bala has been receiving death threats “from extremists” including a “serving policeman identified as Abdulsamad Adamu.” Adamu is a sergeant in the Bauchi State Police Command, northeast Nigeria. Bala’s lawyers have asked for a transfer of his case from Kano to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, over threats made “directly” on the life of their client before his arrest “via phone calls” and “on social media.”
Blasphemy or freedom of speech
Blasphemy is an offense punishable in both the customary (secular) and Sharia (Islamic) court systems in Nigeria.  The customary system, under Section 204 of Nigeria's criminal code entitled “Insult to Religion,” states:
Any person who does an act which any class of persons consider as a public insult on their religion, with the intention that they should consider the act such an insult, and any person who does an unlawful act with the knowledge that any class of persons will consider it such an insult, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for two years.
Kano State operates under both legal systems. However, Section 38 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria guarantees the rights of every Nigerian to exercise freedom of thought, conscience and religion. Similarly, Section 39 also grants every Nigerian the right to freedom of expression. Meanwhile, #FreeMubarakBala has been trending on Twitter, with divided opinions about the arrest of Bala and the impending blasphemy charge.   Writer Gimba Kakanda described Bala’s arrest as “an overkill”:
The arrest of @MubarakBala on charges of blasphemy is uncalled-for. I don’t subscribe to provoking the sensibility of any religious group and I’ve told him it’s unfair that he does that, but arresting him is an overkill. He’s not a threat to Islam. He should’ve just been ignored. pic.twitter.com/jANzGIs6Ns — Gimba Kakanda (@gimbakakanda) April 29, 2020
“Criticizing a religion is not a criminal offence,” wrote this netizen:
Nigeria is a secular state and freedom of speech is one of the fundamental characteristics of a modern democratic state. Criticising a religion is not a criminal offence. So every right minded person should put aside their religious views and lend a voice to #FreeBalaMubarak. — Obi Of Onitsha (@cliqik) April 29, 2020
This netizen questioned the need for enforcing blasphemy laws in 2020:
The only reason you still enforce blasphemy laws in 2020 is because your religion cannot withstand the slightest enquiry. — Girl de Maupassant (@somiscellany) April 29, 2020
However, some disagreed.  This netizen wrote an extreme comment on Twitter that insults to the Prophet Muhammad warrant execution:
Screenshot of a tweet by Sarki @Waspapping_ [2:42 PM · Apr 29, 2020]
And this netizen called human rights activists hypocrites when it comes to religion:
When someone insults our Prophet you'll say its freedom of speech But when we insult gays/lesbians you'll say its discrimination You right activists are hypocrites, have always been and will always be#FreeBalaMubarak — Umar Al Asad (@alpha_keyboard) April 29, 2020
Atheism in Nigeria
Nigeria, with an estimated population of 200 million people, has two major religions: Christianity and Islam. Muslims and Christians make up 50 percent and 48 percent of the Nigerian population respectively. The north is predominantly Muslim while the south of Nigeria is chiefly Christian. There are few traditional religious adherents in both parts of the country.  Atheism is not popular, although there have been some popular Nigerians who openly profess their non-belief in any religion.  Some young Nigerian atheists have been ostracized by their families for denouncing religion. It is particularly grim in northern Nigeria. A 2010 Pew Research study shows that a majority of male Muslims in northern Nigeria (58 percent) support the death penalty for those who leave the Muslim religion.  Nonetheless, these seem to be extreme cases.  A member of the Atheist Society of Nigeria in a 2018 interview with Business Insider by Pulse online magazine admitted that some “still feel” shocked at meeting Nigerian atheists. However, most “Nigerians are tolerant and love to speak their minds when they disagree with you.” Consequently, their lack of belief has ignited “plenty of discussions” and “very few instances of being threatened or bullied.”

Okorocha’s Suit: Court orders Lawyer to Produce Certificate of Mental Fitness
Tumblr media
A Federal High Court Abuja on Friday ordered a lawyer, Mr Orji Nwafor-Orizu, to produce a certificate of mental fitness confirming he is fit to appear in court. Nwafor-Orizu had at previous sittings announced himself as counsel representing Mr Osita Izunaso, the third defendant in the ongoing certificate of return  suit filed by Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha. Justice Okon Abang made the order following what he described as Nwafor-Orizu displaying conduct not befitting of a senior counsel. “On account of Nwafor-Orizu’s conduct, not being counsel on record, and displaying such conduct not worthy of a senior counsel, he shall not be allowed to  appear as a counsel in this matter, or any other court,  unless and until he furnishes the court with a medical report from a government psychiatric hospital certifying him to be mentally fit. ” He shall also sign an undertaking and serve on all counsel that he shall henceforth be of good conduct and until then, S.M Anichebe shall appear as counsel to the third defendant, ” the judge said. At the resumed hearing of the matter, counsel to all parties announced their appearance  following which the judge called on Okorocha’s counsel,  Mr Kehinde Ogunwumiji, SAN,to complete his submission which he started on Thursday. Nwafor-Orizu then came into the court at this point and insisted that he must be heard since he had a process from the Court of Appeal stopping proceedings in the matter. The judge asked him to sit and allow Okorocha’s counsel to continue his argument but the lawyer insisted saying; “the court will not proceed until my motion is heard”. The judge warned that he was frustrating his proceedings and should desist from any further antics. Following the warning, the judge rose for about five minutes and when he resumed, he asked the security personnel in the court to watch Nwafor-Orizu closely saying he didn’t feel safe with him in court. The judge said he felt unsafe because he was not sure of the mental state of the lawyer adding that no sane lawyer would act in the manner he did since he had not announced himself on record and yet was insisting to be heard. He asked the security personnel to be ready to remove him from the court should he display such conduct again, and where he resisted, he should be arrested. Justice Abang also sent for court’s doctor and informed her to be on standby as he might need to send a lawyer to her to ascertain the lawyer’s mental fitness. In spite of pleas from Mr N.A Nwawuche (SAN), counsel to the second defendant that the court should pardon Nwafor-Orizu’s behavior, the judge said he would only acknowledge him after he presented a certificate of mental fitness. “I suffer, okada don jam me so many times” – Hushpuppi Tells ‘Success’ Story
Hushpuppi, who has been alleged to be one of the most popular and richest internet fraudsters from Nigeria rarely talks but his upscale lifestyle has been doing the talking for him. This time, he seems to have a story to tell after being irked.
A former director of social media of the People’s Democratic Party and self-acclaimed human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju recently recommended Hushpuppi (real name Ramoni) for investigation and prosecution by the anti-graft body, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. He made the controversial recommendation while commending the EFCC for the arrest of six internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys in Abuja.
Adeyanju believes Hushpuppi who serially flaunts his uncanny wealthy on social media is into internet fraud which the young man has also not denied. This is second time Adeyanju is recommending Hushpuppi for arrest by the EFCC operatives but the body appearing unconcerned.
His recommendation which happened via Twitter went viral thereby necessitating responses from Hushpuppi. Hushpuppi is one of the most flamboyant Nigerian youths on social media. He strictly wears mostly expensive Gucci wears and holidays at the exotic locations across the world. He once expended a whopping sum of N11.5 million at one of the classiest club houses in Lagos State identified as Quilox, owned by socialite Shina Peller. Overtime, his presence on social media has intimidated hundreds of local celebrities whom he has accused of wearing fake designer clothes, shoes, wristwatches and others at different occasions. Musicians namely Phyno, Ice Prince, Kcee have had skirmishes with him over what they wear.
Hushpuppi once lived in Malaysia and has reportedly moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates where he basks in luxury doing what nobody knows. The social media tells us he is into high-profile internet fraud and the bearded young man whose mother hails from the Niger Delta region has refused to debunk the criminal stories trailing him. He seems to love the identity. He has over 1 million followers on Instagram and on his bio, you are welcomed with the bold message; The Billionaire Gucci Master”
Hushpuppi who has lived outside Nigeria for 8 years has threatened to drop his citizenship as he makes a response to Deji Adeyanju’s apparent attack on his personality.
He made a video yesterday with mixed emotions detailing his journey from poverty to luxury. Just like other picaros across the world like Pablo Escobar of Colombia, Joaquin Guzman aka El Chapo of Mexico and Lawrence Nomanyagbon Anini of Nigeria, there is a touching story about their stand against the law.
He spoke about the spate of poverty in his family stemming from several generations before his parents who wallowed in poverty. He recalled how his sister died of typhoid fever as well as his personal struggles as a man to make it from nothing. He regarded the Nigerian state as a failure which has disappointed the millions of her citizens.
It should be noted Adeyanju also challenged Hushpuppi to a debate in front of the EFCC office in Abuja which he has accepted but he gave his conditions. Ridiculously, Hushpuppi would also love to engage in a physical fight with Adeyanju during the death during which he hopes to do some damage on his face and make an impression of his source of money through vast injuries.
“Yes, I accept your debate challenge. First you have to know to invite me to Nigeria; it comes with a cost just like other people who have been inviting me for appearances in so many different countries worldwide. It comes with a cost which you have to discuss with me if you want to see me, I dont care about you. You have to realize it comes with a first class ticket, a 5-star hotel, on ground security since the country is not safe it is well known for kidnapping people and all these things, you have to provide me with my meals, I have my own preferences, you know the kind of meals I eat” he said.
Hushpuppi also wants the debate location to be shifted from the vicinity of the EFCC office in Abuja and taken to the people since Adeyanju claims to fight for them. Hushuppi hopes to debate with him at the Oyingbo Market in the Ebute Metta area, Idumota market and Yaba area which is close to the psychiatric hospital where he believes Adeyanju will end up as his mother opined.
Funny enough, Adeyanju’s source of income is also unknown but some believe he is a professional protester. It is not clear if that is a paid job anywhere in the world. Deji has been involved in several protests for and against the ‘enemies of the state’. He has been accused of benefitting from the financial corruption orchestrated by members of the then ruling party, PDP.
Well, back to the issue at hand; after a series of threats to Adeyanju’s life, Huspuppi gave clues about what the debate points would look like. He wants to debate on the spate of poverty in Nigeria as it riddled his family.
“When you are coming to this debate, please be well prepared to answer some very good questions that I have for you and Nigerians. You have to explain to me personally why is it that my elder sister, the one I was immediately born after had to die of just Typhoid in Nigeria in Gbagada General Hospital (Lagos)? Why did my sister have to die because my parents didn’t have enough money? Why did she have to die cos they didn’t attend to her quick in the hospital? You have to answer these questions that give me pains that I go through all the time, everyday in my life.
You have to be able tell me why my parents have to suffer so much and they can’t be proud of N1,000 that has been given to them by the federal government. My mother is from the Niger Delta part of Nigeria where Nigeria’s oil comes from. She has never benefitted one dollar from the Niger Delta, the oil-producing part of Nigeria where she comes from and she is over 60 years old” he harped.
He went on to explain that many generations before his parents have been stricken by poverty and he is the only one who has escaped by the whiskers. He narrates that his father has worked harder that Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Olusegun Obasanjo and yet there is nothing to show for it. According to him, only him among the children of his parents has been so far successful in life. He attributed the recent attacks on him to envy as he has been through so much hardship in life.
“I suffer, okada don jam me so many times, motor don jam me for the same Nigeria. I don nearly die. I come escape, I come escape una country, just few years I don dey enjoy. This enjoyment never even mature. Just this small enjoyment wey I dey enjoy never dey equilibrium with the suffer wey I don suffer. I don suffer for decades, I never enjoy reach 5 years sef. Una dey look say no, dem suppose bring me back make I come suffer, say na must say I must suffer” he lamented in Pidgin English.
Hushpuppi believes the government owes him an explanation as to why his father languished in penury for so long. He revealed that his father’s second wife also passed away in the course of his father’s travails.
He lamented on the general sufferings in Nigeria specifically mentioning the deplorable state of people living in Badagry which is at the outskirts of Lagos, Agege, Iyana Ipaja as well as Ebonyi and Nassarawa States which according to him have been starved of developmental projects. He believes negligence on the part of the government has further impoverished the people.
Hushpuppi said his story must be used as documentary to give hope to the youths.
“My papa when im dey 4 years old, him papa die. At the age of 7 them put am inside motor wey carry yam and cow dey go north. My papa follow motor go north.
At the age of 8, 9, my papa don dey work for bakery for north from Ijebu. My papa suffer. E acquire many things, e get to where him want you know. My papa really go through a lot you know. I nor fit dey remember so many things. I nor fit open my eyes down dey talk my papa story because e dey cause me so many pains. Una know go understand.”
He said he travelled to Ethiopia and slept with donkeys in an uncompleted building in his first trip out of Nigeria. He recalled how he suffered in Ghana and Ashimota where he sold phones.
Hushpuppi believes ‘God’ answered his prayers a few years ago and alot of Nigerians believe he doesn’t deserve the opulence he is basking in. He said Nigerians should be more concerned about the less-privileged in the country who are looking for opportunities to leave the shores of the country for better opportunities abroad.
His story has appealed to the hearts of thousands of Nigerian youths who have turned against Adeyanju despite been left in the dark about the source of income of Hushpuppi. Rumours have it that Hushpuppi is worth over $20 million dollars which beggars belief.

There are mainly two types of mental disorder treatment.
·         Somatic: In this treatment drugs, electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and vagus nerve stimulation are included. In this healing process, therapists work with a person's mind, body, spirit, and emotions. In traditional somatic psychotherapists believe that people are not able to convey their feelings by communication so therapists observe communication of the body. Because past trauma is affecting the nervous system of a person. So as a cure somatic psychotherapy can help a person to understand both the problems that are bodily sensations and helps them to release any tension the body is holding.
